For King and Country !
"Unreal City. Under the brown fog of a winter dawn"- T.S Eliot, The Burial Of The Dead
War. War never changes. As the United States of America suffocated beneath a blanket of radiation and toxic fumes, so too was the rest of the world drowned in atomic inferno. The United Kingdom, a monarchy struggling amidst the harsh realities of a world drained of its natural resources, fell to the same weapons of mass destruction that had ripped the rest of Planet Earth to tainted shreds, and became lost in the ensuing shroud of darkness.
Life, however, endured within the carcass of the island nation, skulking through the pale bones of the old world. The people of the UK rose from the ashes of the British Commonwealth, and set about rebuilding their shattered lives, amidst the nuclear devastation which had swept across the globe.
But what awaited the survivors in the barren wastes above was far more bloody and savage than anything they could’ve possibly imagined...Because war, war never changes.

King and Country takes place within the Fallout Universe, in the ruins of the United Kingdom. It is the year 2277, and the people of Britain have suffered through two centuries of vicious hardships, in order to make it to where they are today.
After the point of Divergence (Estimated to be around December 1946) The United Kingdom underwent a wave of right wing extremism, with british patriots hell bent on retaining what little of their once globe-spanning Empire remained. The constant threat of nuclear annihilation put the Western powers at odds with each other, and when the European Commonwealth invaded the Middle East, the United Nations collapsed entirely.
It wasn’t too long before the Commonwealth itself was dissolved, and Europe descended into a bitter civil war.
Striking an agreement with a subsidiary company of RobCo Industries, the Great British government set about developing vast underground ‘Havens’, not dissimilar to the United States Vault Shelters, in an attempt to protect the general public from the inevitability of nuclear devastation. Unbeknownst to most, the UK had become just as much a playground for mad scientists as the US, and was made subject to both twisted experiments within the underground Havens, and copious amounts of the Forced Evolutionary Virus.
The bombs fell, and the United Kingdom was destroyed.
No single currency exists in this post-apocalyptic wasteland, and traders barter by exchanging whatever resources and commodities are at their disposal. Given the tight gun laws which were in place before the bombs fell, firearms are rare in the English Wasteland, and most battles are fought with knives and swords.
Over the next few hundred years, the village of Silvershaw sprung up around in the husk of Haven 18, amidst the ruins of what had once been rural Surrey. Silvershaw has enjoyed a few years of relative peace, having established trade routes with the nearby town of Oking, but weeks have past, and there has been no word from the settlers in Oking.
Bringing together a group of Silvershaw’s strongest warriors and smartest minds, the Mayor of the town sends the fellowship off into the ruins of Oking, in an attempt to piece together what has transpired.
Known Factions
The Ordinem Caelitum
Zealous crusaders, fueled by a hatred for all tainted life, and a pious dedication to the holy scriptures of the old world. The Ordinem are rarely seen this far south, but stories of white knights stalking through the countryside, picking off ghoul settlements, are spoken in hushed voices.
The Marauders
More of an uneasy truce than any grand alliance, the Marauders are a dark trinity of raider clans, who’ve agreed to stay out of each other's way, and occasionally trade supplies. Comprised of the Highwaymen, the Redeemers, and the Daughters of Ishtar, wherever the Marauders ride, hell follows with them.
Danette’s Bunch
Vile slavers, driven by their most primal desires, Danette’s bunch occupy a settlement known simply as ‘The Brook’, and will supply any service for the right price.
The Shriekers
A shambling horde of FEV afflicted mutants, the Shriekers excessive use of hazardous pre-war stealth technologies has left them riddled with paranoia and schizophrenia. Not much is known about these nightmarish horrors, and the residence of Silvershaw rarely cross paths with them.
