Edit: It also came to my attention that we don't have a patron god for a lot of concepts. Perhaps we could have patron gods for the classical elements for Zhan's sake, a god(dess) of nature for Markiel, etc.?

Nah, Zhan's got that whole spirit-worship thing going on. I think it'd sort of break the concept to have a God of The Elements grant him all his powers.

I've made some points on the map from Daen's lifetime. I also marked the exact location that he died and then resurrected from.

I've been trying to edit the map to designate the wilds (though mostly I imagine them north of the top of the map) and kingless land, but I can't seem to do so. Basically That north east corner with the mountains and the one tiny green patch that's the kingless land if that's alright.

Raven, sent you my idea. If you're good with it let me know and I'll get a character sheet up.

Awesome writing everyone, by the way. Love reading it all.

Here's the stand I'll take.

After the Sturmkirks, Volkimir's family, become vampires, the lands which they owned became a barbaric monstrosity, filled with all manner of craziness and shadow. Over time, the Stormlands become known as the Shadowlands. In the centuries preceding the events of the roleplay, the various states of Ansus unite to form the United Kingdoms of Ansus, which eventually rise against the Shadowlands and destroy its influence in the Horror Wars. All this occurs in the 2000 years before the events of the roleplay. The United Kingdoms of Ansus change their name to simply Ansus, with the longer name 'Federation of Ansus.' This happens after the lives of Crow, Ki'ira, Jacaerys, and Altim, who live in an era when piracy is dying and countries start to unify, much like Cynderia.

Before that, a cataclysmic war happens around 29000 PA and ends around 30000 PA. This war is called the Great Hundred Years War, and it is a war waged initially between 5 or 6 separate empires. Unrest after the war leads to balkanization, and the countries are thus split into anywhere from 30 to 100 warring, sometimes feudal states, with surrounding minor kingdoms and provinces. Daen lives towards the end of the Great Hundred Years War. Balor lives before the conflict.

Clarent, Jaralia, and Zhan's lives all precede the Horror Wars, and these three characters may not have anything immediate to do with each other. But they probably had some effect on history relevant to the time periods they lived in.

The rest lived in the time period before the Great Hundred Years war, and they lived closer in proximity to each other. We could probably write a history relevant to and connecting them too.

Is everyone game?

Dis sounds fuuuun :3

I'm game for almost any scenario. But a little idea of Clarent's region. When I spoke with Transience, we kinda decided Ynys Mons was juuuuust off the map of Ansus. On the continent, but not represented.

Ynys Mons is known as the land of a hundred kings. A land that has been torn by non-stop bloodshed for several hundred years, fraught with civil wars, and invasions, and conquests, and rebellions. A land where the war is never quite finished, where those showing magical promise are conscripted to join the ranks of the bladecasters. A land where so many have claimed and vied and schemed for the throne, any true bloodline to the original claimant has long been since extinguished. A land where might makes right, where hunger and greed thrive, and where he with the largest may declare himself King, if for but a day.

This is the land that Clarent hails from.

Both the Black King Solom and the Red Queen Lucille invested heavily in their respective reigns in the military of their kingdoms, but it was under the Red Queens rule (and Clarent's guidance) that Ynys Mons and the Tuath achieved a sort of unified 'peace' for a few centuries. Think Italian City states warring with each other until the Papal States came and gobbled them up. Totalitarian rule, but at least no one is fighting an endless war.

The Order basically served as royal guards for the bloodline, slowly becoming smaller and less important and other orders came about, until they 'retreated' to where their founder fell. But no doubt they served on many fronts, in many purposes, for many kings. This proved beneficial in many ways. Eventually, Clarent's bloodline grew too thin, and war was upon Ynys Mons again.

So, because the Kingdom of Ynys Mons was constantly at war with itself, every side or faction always tried to "one up" each other, either with better bladecasters, bigger armies, or more destructive war magics. M.A.D. in the ultimate sense, except they withheld no restraint. They made what the Red Queen did to the Tear seem like child's player in the end. And in a single night, they brought doom upon the kingdom.

I plan on Clarent visit the Kingdom during his travels, to find nothing but barren desolation and ruins. A waste, void of life, or light. A tombstone that stretches miles across emptiness, with an epiteh that no one has cared to read. Clarent's Order, having left Ynys Mons proper to move their location where he fell (a considerable distance away), was spared the cataclysm.

Since there's about two millenia between then and now, its not too unfeasible. :P

Dormeria herself was very popular (in both positive and negative fashions) among the nobility and small folk alike during her time, so I'll be happy to have her made her marks upon the kingdoms of the time - I'll be happy to work with anyone whose years are fairly close to her own on something!

Unfortunately, I have to sleep fairly early for work so I only get 4-5 hours per night of free time except on the weekends, so be a little patient with me. :D

I'll devote my energy towards making a post when I return from work tomorrow!

Golly, this juicy lore should be in the document...

Edit: As I summarize the plot, what should I do? Should I create separate sections under the plot to summarize it within the scope of individual legends, or should I summarize the plot chronologically and cumulatively as it relates to all characters?

Chronological is probably the best way to go.

Is there going to be some sort of general event gathering people together, or are we just going to let groups form as they will?

Yeah, probably best to do it chronologically.

Also, here's a map of what used to be the Empire of Kai and is now a vast collection of little city-states.

@Charzy: Not what I meant. But worshipping spirits? Isn't that technically god worship of a kind?

@jasonwolf: Yo, shouldn't we give 'the Old God' a name, so we don't have to call him 'the Old God' OOC? All I know so far is that he's a god, and he's old.

Yeah, it's definitely religious, but what I'm saying is that it's not one single god.

@ravenDivinity TBH I wasn't sure I'd be allowed to or not. Kept it as that incase you wanted to pick a god and assign that, but otherwise it's Alnox, God of Order and Chaos.
