Personality:
Ethel is very soft-spoken and quite deadpan at that, she shows emotion through only very minor changes in her behaviour. The girl doesn't seem to know a whole lot about communicating with people and can get misunderstood quite easily. In a duel she can lose her temper very quickly and go off the hook, becoming more ruthless the angrier she is to the point where if it's someone she hates she could just outright scream for them to get killed.

History:
Ethel's led a sheltered life with a rich family, never really going out in the open much. Not at all, really. Her pale skin is because of her staying inside so much, which causes her stamina to also be much lower than a normal person's. Said lower stamina isn't helped by her poor physical health, with her having certain... conditions which cause her to be rather weak. Ethel also received minor dueling education a little while back, enough to learn her the basics of how to play, but before that she was always occupied in other lessons such as different languages or learning to play various musical instruments. She is able to do a whole lot as long as it doesn't require too much physical exercise but at the same time hasn't had the chance to talk to a whole lot of people. Her parents sent her out to the duel tower to give a better education on duel monsters.

Personality:
Haas is a rather...interesting person. He's prone to highly energetic bursts of activity in rather sporadic periods, optimistic and cheerful and generally a really peppy guy. That changes after an hour or so, and he becomes somewhat grumpy, tired, sluggish, and overall a bit of an ass to deal with. He's never excessively tired however, as long as he takes one of his legendary fifteen minute power naps, after which he looks like he just got a full night's sleep and goes right back to being happy.

History:
Born the oldest of four children to a German toy-maker, a modest living was all that Haas' father could afford for his family, and barely even at that. Despite the financial troubles they went through, his father always maintained an air of exuberant optimism, that was almost infectious.

Wanting to be like his father, Haas worked hard to always have a smile on his face. Balancing the work at the store along with his education, Haas' friends eventually got him into Duel Monsters, and the toymaker's son was surprisingly decent at it. Well, he at least knew which way a chain went. Ironically, Haas took the entrance exam for the Duel Tower Academy entirely by accident, having one of his "tired" episodes wound up getting him to sign up for some sorta desert dueling school. He passed the exams no problem and lo and behold, he was off. His father, rather than being worried about the store with one less set of hands was supportive, willing to believe that his son could make his (apparent) dreams of becoming a professional Duelist come true. However that worked.

Megan is an outgoing friendly sort of individual. She's eager to make new friends and likes talking to people. She tends to put a lot of effort into things she cares about and she cares about things rather easily. Megan can seem a little thoughtless at times but she's more than willing to make up for up in sheer vigor and of course she's always up for a challenge, preferring winning to losing, because who doesn't?

History:
Megan's family is fairly well off, certainly enough so that Megan wasn't wanting for anything. Her vibrant personality and natural athletics allowed her to make friends easily. However she was mostly unfamiliar with the world of Yu-Gi-Oh until several of her friends started playing with each other. Megan learned from them and devolved a keen interest in the game, as the aspects of both skill and luck appealed to her, along with everyone having their own unique style of dueling. So she convinced her parents to get her sent to a dusty old duel academy so she could, quote "git gud".

Vincent's personality is can be described as crowd shy, and he has sometimes made blunders causing him to lose, due to his fear of being judged, without the crowd though, he is a cheerful person. who enjoys experiencing all of life, especially when it comes to dueling. (if only there wasn't people watching all the time) and yet his personality feels a full 180 degree shift in a rage but he has a long fuse, so you will be fine as long as you don't continously do it.
History:
The road to a duelist academy is usually a one of ambition, and Vincent is no different in the ambition to become a world class pro duelist, so when it came time to enroll in a dueling academy, Vincent choose the one that looked like it could offer the most to him for the future, even though it would be a sweltering hot desert. he would try and become the best he can be, mainly conquering his fear of crowd's.

Personality:
Leander is a happy-go-lucky guy. He almost always has something good to say about any situation. However, there are times when he can act like an idiot, and there are times that he is clueless about blatantly obvious things, but that just adds to his charm. In Duels, his happy personality is expressed even more than usual as he tries to make everyone laugh.

History:
Leander was a pretty average guy at home. He had his group of friends, a normal family, etc. The only change in that life of his is when he discovered Duel Monsters. As he learned about the cards and the rules, he discovered that he liked it. A lot. So, he thought it would be great if he used it with his usual antics to make people laugh. Fortunately for him, Leander had decent skills for Dueling, so whether he won or lost, Leander was usually capable of giving his friends both a challenge and a laugh. As time passed, Leander also discovered Duel Academies, schools that taught people how to play Duel Monsters. Natually, Leander couldn't resist and his parents eventually sent him to the Duel Tower to fulfill his wish.

Name: Michelle Kine

Personality: Michelle can seem a bit cold to other people. She often wears an expressionless face, and speaks in an emotionless to cold tone, if at all. Truthfully, she is just bad at expressing her emotions. She also tends to have a lot on her mind, which often makes it harder for her to express herself, and she is a bit shy. All of that adds up to what she is now. However, Michelle is a complete Duel Monsters enthusiast. She remembers the names and main cards of every successful Duelist to have shown up in the world, and possesses a decent bit of skill at the game herself.

History: For as long as Michelle could remember, she had always been a recluse. She made very few friends, sometimes none at all, and she rarely spoke with anyone. Instead, she poured her efforts into schoolwork and studies, and spent the majority of her time in libraries. She liked the peace and quiet. Her grades, of course, were exemplary. She didn't need anything else. Why would she, when she had everything she needed?

Even so, she felt unhappy. She believed she had everything she needed, but not necessarily everything she wanted. She felt like there was a void in her, something that was missing, but she didn't know what. As time passed, the feeling only grew, until even her regular locations didn't give her comfort anymore. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She decided to go outside and see what it was she was missing. She began walking around her town for a while, taking in the sights for once. Eventually, she came upon a Duel Monsters card shop. Curious, she went inside, seeing people with smiles on their faces, playing the card game known as Duel Monsters. The shop manager offered her a card pack to borrow for the time being, noticing she was new and all, which Michelle soon took an interest in.

Time passed, and Michelle became a regular at the shop. She was never the best Duelist, but she was... having fun. It was a feeling she hadn't experienced before, and finally felt the void in her disappear. She also began looking up various cards, as well as various Duelists. Duel Monster events, merchandise, etc, she was in love with the game. However, what really caught her interests was the Duel Academies. Schools dedicated to Duel Monsters, or at least teaching it. She did her research on the subject, wondering if it was alright for her to go to one. She liked Duel Monsters, but she also had to consider her studies. She asked her parents on the matter, and they encouraged her to follow her interests. Convinced that it was right choice, Michelle chose to apply for a Duel Academy after all.

Personality:
For the most part, Venwyn will uphold befitting a ninja like himself, being both quiet and serious. One worded answers and short sentences composing his speech. Venwyn seemingly prefers to play the role of "observer". However, Venwyn is far from unsocial, rather, the quiet demeanour which he upholds is simply his default personality versus people that he does not know well. It's an outer shell of sorts. However, one can quite easily get past Venwyn's colder personality within around five minutes of making conversation (asking him about his origins is normally enough), where he becomes significantly more casual and talkative around said person or people. While he may remain quite loyal to the "shell breaker," most of his loyalty lies with the Ael Clan, since that's where he was raised.

Notably, Venwyn maintains his cold personality when duelling, it is seemingly impossible for him to become agitated or nervous. He is a believer of fate. Fated to lose, fated to win, fated to have your monster destroyed and the like. Venwyn has a high amount of faith in his archetype choice and duelling capabilities, in addition to becoming slightly irritated when he loses, although his talks of fate prevent him from truly lashing out about it. Instead, he just disappears in a puff of smoke without congratulating or speaking to the winner. He may congratulate a friend, but is definitely one to hold grudges against anyone who isn't.

For some reason, he has the tendency to add a "Ninja Arts" prefix to almost any action that he deems necessary, despite it being anything but. "Ninja Arts: Door Kick" being a somewhat recent example.

He notices that he's one of the "out of place" duellists at the Academy, although it doesn't appear to bother him much. Some people are interested in his actual ninja techniques, like disappearing. He doesn't share his techniques, so when people actually ask Venwyn to teach them some, he rips them off with fake "ninja tools" sold at somewhat ridiculous prices; like a scroll shaped Thermos, called a "Water Scroll."

Aside from that, Venwyn purposefully lacks presence; he has a tendency to enter and exit rooms without people actually noticing it, normally surprising or confusing people in the process.

History:
The Ael Clan are an ancient and secretive family of mystics, visionaries, and (of all things) ninjas. The history of the Ael Clan spans backward to the times of ancient Egypt, where members of the Ael Clan were frequented the Shrine of Wedju, partaking in the original form of duelling through use of their Ba. The Ael Clan were gatherers of history, undertaking the task of learning and recording the methods behind the Egyptian form of duelling. The Ael Clan would proceed to thrive over the course of generations, while remaining secretive and generally unknown among the populace.

In the modern era, the Ael Clan have been faced with the new methods of duelling. Holding onto the old ways was important, but as was understanding the new ways. The clan made the decision to gather knowledge regarding Duel Monsters also, sending out several disciples in order to do so. Venwyn is an example of one of these disciples, sent to the Duel Academy with the job of recording cards to add to the archive, a job given to him due to his exceptional memory.

Name: Hayato Ray

Appearance: Hayato wears a simple black T-Shirt covered by a dark-blue Samurai-like custom made jacket and simple blue jeans, his hair is long and tied like a ponytail, often mistaken for a girl the first time he meets someone.

Personality: Hayato is a pretty calm and serious character, and doesn't mind losing when he is duelling. When the odds are unfair he will simply just surrender as he thinks its the same as commiting seppuku in the old samurai ways. Outside of duels he is a pretty easy to talk to even if he takes a few things too litterally.

History: Hayato lives with his 2 parents, both pretty big in duelling industry. His father is a professional duelist, and his mother is a duel equipment inventor/expert. Hayato had a tough life testing out the equipment and becoming a better duelist, but later his parents decided to enroll him into the duel tower, along with his sister Hayate.
Hayato was forced into bringing the failed duel gear with him by his mom due to his strange way of getting people to want the most random junk

Appearance: Hayate wears a simple white T-shirt covered by a light blue jacket and a simple blue skirt. Her hair is long and tied like a ponytail, often mistaken for a guy the first time she meets someone.

Personality: Hayate is kind and very active, tends to try and converse about dueling whenever possible. Hayate however doesn't tend to say anything after losing a duel, even though she doesn't mind losing unless it's against her own brother.

History: Hayate, ever since she was young, always enjoyed duelling. But, unlike her brother Hayato her parents never bothered teaching her the rules of duel monsters and tried to learn the rules by herself, with a little assistance from her brother when she needed it. After saving up money herself, she started to enroll in the Duel Tower after her brother told her she'd learn more

Appearance:
Ben is a model specimen of 6'1 with curly chestnut brown hair and tanned white skin. He has a well groomed body with firm muscles due to his training regiment. He has no scars or other distinct markings on his body. His eyes are hazel colored. He usually wears a white t-shirt with a brown jacket and jeans when he is out in public but wears whatever uniform fits him otherwise.

Personality:
Ben is a kind and gentle spirit who loves to make new friends despite some immediately jumping to the conclusion that he is a jerk jock due to his appearance. He is friendly to everyone within reason and has a passion for dueling and life in general. Though he does flirt with girls on occasion he doesn't do so habitually and he respects everyone's wishes when they ask him not to do something he doesn't do it again. Some might find him to be a push over since he's willing to give someone many chances but even he has his limits when someone does something unforgivable he does not hesitate to do what he has to do. He loves animals and is often found feeding squirrels and other wild or lost animals if he finds them. Some say he is a modern example of chivalry but he has a dark side to him that he keeps hidden. A side of him that comes over whenever he is betrayed by a friend that he loves or trusts deeply and if that side comes out his is an unforgiving and dangerous individual.

History:
Born in America and raised in New York by a hard working business oriented family many expected young Ben to be a man who would go into business. However life would turn out differently for young Ben. Ben enjoyed sports and other activities more than he did paper work and writing. Though he did become fond of the Duel Monsters card game due to his uncle's influence on him. His family often left him to his own devices with a nanny and he grew up with his two brothers in relative peace. It wasn't always such a competition for young Ben as his younger brother was quiet and his older brother didn't care to mess around with his younger siblings. The trio would however duel from time to time together with their friends or together in a triple threat tag duel. Ben learned about the history of his mother's family that led down to England where his sometime great grand father was a knight for a king of England. Enamored by the stories his grand father would tell to him on holidays he quickly picked up on playing Noble Knights Cards. In school he'd become popular with many people including the geeks as he'd be friendly to them and talk to them about duel monsters while still playing on the football team in middle school. He transferred to this school to keep an eye on his younger brother whom had been a trouble child for a while since an event with his uncle...

Appearance:
When one thinks of the typical emo kid one thinks of Andre. He has black hair and usually wears dark and or dull colored clothes. He usually wears a black jacket in contrast to his brother's vibrant brown. He wears baggy pants and a silver necklace. He has blue eyes and stands at 5'8.

Personality:
Andre is a spiteful person who dislikes talking to others in general. He loathes people who are overly optimistic and finds people who bug him constantly to be pests. He is very vindictive and will not let a grudge go easy. He is not a sore loser when it comes to games though he does find losing to be beneath him and often doesn't show sportsmanship to his opponents. He is shy around girls but still moody. The only person he truly trusts is his brothers.

History:
Born as and more or less declared the runt of the family Andre's life has been less than stellar. Though he never harbored any bad feelings towards his brothers he found he liked strangers less and less. He often snuck out of his house to see the stuff around New York and watch street duels and was met with the harsh ugliness of life. He met homeless people and watched people be awful to one another. He was often picked on at school for not being like his brother though Ben would stop it quickly. He tried his best to fit in with some groups but it never worked out. Eventually a distant uncle brought him along with him on 'trips' to his underground duel sessions under the guise of bringing him to tutoring sessions. It was there that Andre got into 'real' dueling and eventually he uncle had to pull him out after Ben followed them one day with their older brother and Ben put a stop too it because the situation was becoming more and more dangerous for Andre. Andre transferred to the current school after his mother heard of his constant arguments with other students and his attitude become more and more rough. Andre never spoke of why his attitude was getting worse and neither did Ben.

Personality:
Mary is the living incarnation of Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy". She's always happy and willing to help others. She never worries about anything, even if, say, her chair broke. She'd just spend the day fixing it, or more likely, just accept that it's broken. She does hate it when she is called her full name, however, seeing how absurdly long it is.

She is rather nurturing, seeing how she had to take care of a bunch of children while growing up.

Mary is the last person that you'd expect to be a ninja. She is never sneaky or does any standard ninja practices in public. Instead, she chooses to practice the ancient art of cooking. Which is one of two of her talents.

Her other talent is the ninja arts. While she chooses not to be a ninja and instead a chef, she is noticeably the most talented member of the Ael clan in terms of pure skill. She tends to use ninja arts to counter other ninja arts, ending up in ridiculous stand offs between Ael clan members. Like Venwyn, she has the tendency to add "Ninja Arts:" to whatever ninja-ish action she does. After all, her younger siblings (really just any anyone younger than her in the Ael clan) learned it from her.

Appearance:
Average size for his age, with blackish brown hair and blueish greenish eyes. He's caucasian, sporting a blue jacket with white T-shirt underneath. He has blue jeans, with a belt that has a holster for both his Duel Disc and Cards.

Personality:
Being exposed to Turbo Duels at a young age, he's a giant fan and wannabe of the sport. Every day he dreams about designing his own Duel Runner. Other than that he's a pretty friendly guy, he can get along with just about anyone. He can get anxious in duels, which results most of the time in him losing.

History:
All my life I knew I had a need for speed. Soon after beginning Dueling, I discovered the sport of Turbo Dueling, and fell in love with it. I would always pretend that I was a top Turbo Duelist, attatching my Duel Disk to my bike from time to time and pretending to be in a Turbo Duel with Jack Atlas. Soon after I turned 15, I watched the Epic Duel between Yusei Fudo and Jack Atlas, and both became my Idols.

I'm 17 now, and Nowadays it's common to see reruns of them dueling for supremacy on tv, and I catch every single showing no matter where I am. One day, I hope to become as great as these two, which is why I'm heading for Duel Acadamy, to become the very best Turbo Duelist and face off against them one day.

Appearance:
Camryn has brownish skin and straight, black hair as a result of her Māori heritage. She's fairly tall (5' 10"), and usually wears her (quite long) hair in a ponytail. Her eyes are a light hazel color, over which she wears a pair of slim-framed glasses. She's generally seen wearing jeans and various space-themed t-shirts under her school uniform.

Personality:
Camryn is very gregarious and lively, always talking to people and trying to get to know them. However, if someone causes her to dislike them, they will know immediately, as her personality when talking to them will do a complete 180; she will become cold and harsh, throwing out sarcastic remarks like candy and never raising her voice.

History:
Camryn was born in Wellington, New Zealand, to an employee of Industrial Illusions' New Zealand branch, her mother, and a stockbroker, her father. As she grew up, she took an especial interest in two things: her mother's work (and Duel Monsters by proxy), and space. Over the years, she helped her mother design several cards, including some of the new Cyber Dragon support. Her parents got her a telescope and a Duel Monsters deck for her 13th birthday, and she's used both almost every day since. Her father heard about Duel Tower from a friend of his who sent his son there, and after talking it over with Camryn and her mother, they decided that she would enroll there to learn how to become a pro duelist.

Personality:
Nathaniel appears at first to be a fairly average, if somewhat stoic individual. He's sensible and knowledgeable, and he has a lot of patience when dealing with the people around him. Combined with his politely friendly attitude, Nathaniel may seem like a very calm and collected person to people who don't know him. In reality however, Nathaniel tends to get flustered fairly easily, and doesn't perform so well in the event of non-duel-related confrontation. He acts much more relaxed and friendly around people he actually knows, and it really takes some work to get on his bad side. His composed exterior is also a front to hide some serious self-esteem issues due to an unfortunate incident in his past. In fact, just the mention of the words "Junior Disaster" can cause twitching and stuttering, and continuing to press this little pressure point can cause him to have a full-on nervous breakdown. At heart however, he is still an entertainer. Once you get him in front of a cheering crowd, his entire world lights up, and the previously composed and reserved Nathaniel turns into a grinning, shouting dorkperformer.

History:
Toronto, Ontario born and raised, Nathaniel is the only child of a happy family. Throughout his childhood, Nathaniel was all smiles, well-known among those around him for never ever giving up. Having taken up Duel Monsters at a very early age, Nathaniel was especially taken by the Entertainment Duels on TV. Duelists and monsters acting in tandem to bring joy to all who watched them; for Nathaniel, that was the coolest thing in the world, and he dreamed of going pro as an Entertainment Duelist himself. Unfortunately, Nathaniel wasn't very good at the game. In fact, he rarely won a duel, and never once in an actual contest setting. While it wore on him, he wasn't the type to let that stop him, and he continued to enter into numerous Junior Contests with his parents' full loving support.

Five years ago, he entered into the Toronto Junior Entertainment Contest. The preliminary round consisted of each contestant dueling three other random contestants, and judges would decide who moved on based on their performances. Nathaniel, already a crowd favorite at the time due to his cheerful personality and colorful performances, predictably lost his first two duels. Then came the third duel. Nathaniel drew his hand... and it was perfect. After his opponent set up some weak defenses, Nathaniel quickly swarmed the field. The duel was no longer a show to entertain, but a battle in which Nathaniel aimed to overwhelm his opponent as quickly as possible. The OTK he proceeded to deliver was so brutal that his opponent was left sobbing at the end of it. Nathaniel proudly looked to the audience, but no cheers met his ears. Even the judges exchanged no discussion, only wide-eyed stares as they looked on in shock. Realizing what he had done, Nathaniel soon began to bawl as well, and the two young contestants had to be escorted out of the arena. Needlessly to say, Nathaniel did not make it to the next round. This little event, which eventually ended up on Youtube, became known as the Toronto Junior Disaster, and it would continue to haunt Nathaniel to this very day.

Despite his parents' best attempts to cheer him up, Nathaniel didn't enter into any more contests after that. After dropping Duel Monsters for two years, Nathaniel suddenly picked it up again in middle school. He took out the Pendulum Monsters that had led him to his previous pyrrhic victory, and went back to regularly losing with his Main Deck monsters, and although he still won a duel every now and then, these victories were few and far in-between. At this time, he also began to look into applying to the Duel Tower, planning for this to be his one last hurrah in his history of Duel Monsters before he went back to Canada to study marketing or something. As he got on that plane, he felt finally ready to leave the Junior Disaster debacle behind him. After all, this was an institution in the middle of a desert. There is no way these people will have heard about Junior Disaster, right? ...Right?
