About:

This RP will take place in a high fantasy setting, where anything goes. Expect magic, monsters, and mayhem galore! The beginning goal is to explore the world, figure out how/why your characters got there, and how to get back. But things are not as they seem, and plans change with every new discovery. The RP will function based on action and response. For everything a character does, there will be a consequence, good, bad, or neutral, so be warned; while I won't kill off any player characters (unless you want me to, that is) things won't always go well for them. Characters must interact with the world and its inhabitants to move forward, but keep in mind… that may not always be the direction you want to go in.

Rules

• No fighting! If something happens that you don't think you can work through with another RPer, take it up with me.
• No godmodding.
• Please write in third person, past tense.
• One character per RPer at a time.
• Characters cannot start out the RP with any magical abilities or experience. Other than that, you pretty much have free reign to make whatever sort of character you want.
• @Mention characters who are affected and need to respond to your post at the bottom of it.
• I know life can get in the way sometimes, so if something comes up and you're going to be away for an extended period of time, just let me know in the OOC.
• If you have any concerns, questions, or ideas, feel free to shoot me a PM.

Name: Valencia Tempest



Appearance: About 5’7”, slim but muscular, with dark green eyes and choppy, dark brown hair that reaches her shoulder blades. Generally wears a long coat, a bandana, dark breeches, and boots.

Tag: The quick-witted pirate with a gentle heart

About: Valencia is a 23-year-old pirate from the Golden Age of Piracy.
She lost her parents when she was a child and got into piracy as a way to survive, rather than slipping into certain ‘other’ ways of making money as a pretty young girl. She worked hard to prove her worth and make her way in the world, and wound up doing some things she wasn’t proud of. It wasn’t her choice to become a pirate, but that’s just the path life took her upon.

She has a habit of getting herself into trouble, and maintains a gruff, curt exterior so that she’ll be taken seriously, but inside still has the sweet heart she was born with. She does everything she can to hide her soft side—she knows that the moment she lets it show could be the moment she loses her reputation or her life. Valencia is skilled with a cutlass and carries an assortment of knives concealed on her person, but refuses to use firearms. She’s a survivor and will do almost anything to save her own skin, but she won’t raise a hand against those who can’t defend themselves.

Valencia has a sharp tongue and a quick temper, but she can think calmly and clearly in tense situations. When she speaks, she often comes across as brusque, because she can be impatient with people who don't react as quickly as she does. She’s never met a man who can keep up with her, and doesn’t care if she never finds love. Love is for featherbrained fillies, anyway. She just wants to become rich enough that she can give up her pirating ways and live comfortably.

Valencia has a question mark tattooed on her left cheekbone as a symbol that she doesn’t know who she wants to be anymore, but has accepted the person she’s become; and sports other tattooed marks on her arms and back.

About: Born in the great depths of London, he had a fine life. Went to a boarding school that he diddnt like nor have very much fondness to remember its name. When he left school he went into the merchant navy where he was recruited into the west Indies company where he went around selling tea.

You can consider this done pretty much, but I'm gonna add more to it in the future.

Name: Clifford Briley


Tag: A scarred man robbed of his life and language.

About: Perhaps the story of a man is interesting to some, but never so much important. Clifford's is no impossible shell to crack, but given time and patience, he might. Course, such a ravaged face as his is no proper tool to regale things gone by. Pen and paper, he could make do. Tell you where he came from, what he did, how meaningful it was to him. The life he lost. Wants back.

Wakes a man from one world within another, grief and confusion's bound to set in quick. Clifford is no exception, but someone of his strength, stature, and endurance can do well to survive in such a situation. And he does intend to survive. Find a way back, even. No sane being would truly, sincerely want to stay.

@User just a heads up, the tag needs to be altered before you submit it. you're on the right track, it's just instead of a personal quote, i need something that directly describes him, like "the dapper gent with a hankering for tea" or something.

@SepticGentleman yikes (i say in the best possible way). i dig him. you can throw poor clifford into the cs tab!

About: Born in a desert wasteland, all Caleb has ever known is how to get food and water from the desert, and how to defend it. His mother taught him some basic mathematics and reading, but that was all he ever learnt. He thought would be born, then live, then die in the desert. How wrong he was.

About: Cronus Hades was born in the year 2933 and frozen in 2966, his memory wiped due malfunction, his original name stricken from history.
He awoke from his cryogenic slumber in the 50932 (or that’s what automatic calendars say the year is) he was the last man on earth, a world abandoned by its original owners, perhaps they were out there in space and he was just forgotten. he didn’t care he just lived life without interference.

Cronus stands at 6'11 and has pretty muscular build underneath his heavy cloak

Name: Arvyria Kanset


Appearance: A lithe 5'9", her strong bone structure contrasts wispy blonde hair and an unobtrusive gaze. She wears a clearly borrowed cuirass with matching pauldrons -- ill-fitted but functional -- as well as leather pants and high, thick boots. The only piece that truly seems to fit her is the winding, ornate vambrace, with a separate piece to protect the back of her hand. Though exaggerated in its sculpted musculature, it holds snug to her arm, which moves with intuition and dexterity.

About: Arvyria lost her way of life when her village -- nestled between 14th century Norway and Sweden -- disappeared overnight, leaving only wilderness. Though she understood the language of those two neighboring countries, the difference in accent remained apparent: she read her A's as 'eh's, and her R's trailed half a second longer than other people's. Without a community of her own, she became an easy target for brigands and 'respectable' nationalists alike. The guards along the national border nearly put an end to her wandering one night, but the guard post was ambushed and her captors slain. However, rather than taking her captive, her rescuers left a sinewy-looking steel demigauntlet in her possession and demanded that she 'follow it to its source.' She drifted into sleep still digesting those scant words...and once more, awoke to an unfamiliar new world.

About: From a slightly more futuristic era(than the modern time) Robyn comes from is a post-apocalyptic world that was caused by nuclear war and virus outbreak. What the war was for, practically doesn’t even matter anymore. You could say it was senseless, if you wanted to. Robyn briefly fought in it before stopping for those reasons. Ever since she’s moved around like everyone else. Surviving, scavenging, that drift. She’s been in a couple of small groups here and there, that is until she woke up in...well...this...

So the magic is heavy but what's the level of technology in this strange new fuckscape?
