Yeah, I was going more for the fantastical barbarian, as opposed to someone on the wrong side of the Roman border. You know, think Conan, or Dungeons and Dragons/Path Finder/Diablo etc. They're normally large, masculine warriors that run around half naked and tear everything to pieces. Them guys.

Wait, hold on, let me get some literature.

"For some, there is only rage. In the ways of their people, in the fury of their passion, in the howl of battle, conflict is all these brutal souls know. Savages, hired muscle, masters of vicious martial techniques, they are not soldiers or professional warriors—they are the battle possessed, creatures of slaughter and spirits of war. Known as barbarians, these warmongers know little of training, preparation, or the rules of warfare; for them, only the moment exists, with the foes that stand before them and the knowledge that the next moment might hold their death. They possess a sixth sense in regard to danger and the endurance to weather all that might entail. These brutal warriors might rise from all walks of life, both civilized and savage, though whole societies embracing such philosophies roam the wild places of the world. Within barbarians storms the primal spirit of battle, and woe to those who face their rage." - From Path Finder wiki.

^ That's kind of what Oglaff is. He's definitely not a Thracian goat herder.

And don't worry about loading yourself with more work, you've got enough to do over in Okly. Oglaff will find his own way into the action.

Oh by the way, have you managed to contact Leslie, or any of the other missing players? Half the story has come to an abrupt halt, hasn't it? What are we going to do if they don't return? Sooner or later the cogs are gonna buckle and we'll need to do something about it.

Maybe best we cross that bridge when we get to it though, eh?

I thought we were waiting to move the story on? Also I was waiting on the elder prince guy since it seemed like it was his turn, seems alot of people are going missing.

Maybe best to move on without them soon, or atleast do a roll call

So long as you've considered it.

@Cuccoruler

The story was going to move past that scene soon, but at this point I might move that forward soon anyway. I am hoping that they get back to me though. Hopefully its just finals getting in the way.

I will be controlling the large bandit. I suppose I should actually put his name in the rp. Also means I need to go digging for it, but whatever. The point is he has not swung yet and it is not up to you whether or not he has. you shall not be fighting yourself. you shall be fighting me.

But you know what? Sure. We can run with him singing and you grabbing him. You might be pleasantly surprised how ineffective it shall be.

Edit: When did I thank your post? Weird.

CS Skeleton [-]
Name: Leyton Dormund (Proudsword)

Appearance: A well built young man in his mind twenties showing tons of vigor. His figure would show the years of hardship he has had to endure. His arms are well defined and as are his legs. There are some scars around his body from fights and various other activities. His hair is black, kept semi-short and pulled back most of the time. His eyes are black as well.

Age:25

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Side: Light

Weapons(s): A curved Eastern sword, akin to a katana. Not particularly ornate. The wraps on the handle is purple and there is a jewel in the pommel. He will guard this sword with his life.

Abilities/Powers:

-Unyielding Willpower: Though not anything magical, Leyton has learn through his years of hardship to not yield to fate. Even in the most dire situation, Leyton will find a way to survive and prevail.

-Child of the Sun: He draws his powers from the sun, namely sunlight. On the sunniest of days, he would appear to be giving off an aura. Under the sun, his already high speed and agility gets enhanced and his strength as well. His power follows the sun. It increase as the sun rises and reaches its maximum at midday then begins to decline. During a cloudy day, he receives very little enhancement. When it is raining or worse, he receives no boost at all, in fact, he may be weaker during those times.

-Unnatural speed
-Unnatural agility

Talent(s):

-Masterful swordsman
-Above Average strength
-High intellect
-Natural leader

Personality: Quite jolly, Leyton has learned to enjoy even the smallest things in life. He does not let the small things bother him, electing to ignore them rather than spend time one them.

Biography:
From what he can remember, he was always on the move, as if he is running from someone coming to take his life. Around the age of five, when he first started remembering things, he lived with his mother only. She was a pretty lady by conventional standards, nothing special. The lived in the Eastern part of the world, as he remembered seeing on the map. His mother would tell him stories of the capital, about how she was once a queen... She never went into detail about how she was exiled. However, she did mention that she was sent into exile when he was three because of some sort of political power struggle. All of this is a little fuzzy to him though...

He heard all of this from people that seemed like strangers that kept appearing and disappearing in his life. He first heard he was to be the crown prince, that he is a child of a king from his mother. He laughed it off. How could someone as shabby as him be of royal birth? He was a street rat, for all he knows. He is a nobody. Then he heard he was a brother of some important royal person from a fortune teller. He laughed it off. How could someone like him have royal blood? Then he heard his own brother would be king one day from his an exiled government official. He laughed it off. He has never really met his father, let alone his kingly brother.

He traveled extensively throughout the world, going where he please as long as he had money to pay for the fare to get there. He picked up several things along the way, swordsmanship namely. Using that skill, he became a sword-for-hire. However, his sense of justice, righteousness and morals in general means that he is not the richest mercenary out there. However, he was still free to go where he pleased, for he has no real family after his mother's passing when he was around fifteen.

Now he has made his way into the capital city, searching for his next job and a roof over his head...

And maybe, just maybe, all those stories he has heard would come true. That he get to live in the royal palace, eat all the royal food and most importantly, have the time of his life with all the royal ladies....

@KillBox

Some questions comments and concerns. Our First katana. I'm actually surprised it took this long. I am also surprised by the number of rapier's floating around in the rp. Not important moving on. Not yield to faith? Am I missing something or does this mean he is really willful about being atheist? Regardless unless his willpower is supernatural in nature it should be under talents.

Not really sure about his sunlight powers for a few reasons. So I see that it does make him a sort of pair with Sariel who has supernatural powers derived from moonlight, but that sun and moon pairing has been filled with the queen who is the last wielder of sunlight sorcery. That and the Proudsword family was desperate to get that power for themselves mostly because they couldn't wield it themselves at all. So I guess I'm looking for some reason for him to have the powers. its not like a birthright to the royal family that you get to have superpowers. Sariel is a sort of chosen hero who already went through his trials when he took back the kingdom and started cracking down on corruption in the nobility. So why does Leyton have the powers? Perhaps he's the end result of experiments with Lucinda by the previous king to create an heir that had access to sunlight sorcery. And then perhaps the sunlight powers did not come in the intended form? You don't have to go with that and I am willing to work with you on whatever reasoning you come up with.

We're not done with sunlight powers though. I'm not sure how on board I am with him being just straight up better in the sun, especially with how prevalent sunlight is going to be on a day to day basis. The sun keeping his wounds dry as I am vaguely and briefly informed is actually bad healing. Wait its all part of his imagination? What? okay. Help me out here and let me know if they're supposed to be real or not.

If his speed and agility are unnatural then they should be under Abilities/Powers and not under talents.

The bio overall is a bit lackluster. Anyway, he has superpowers. it would give a lot of credit to the idea that he is of royal blood. I mean the royalty don't all have magic powers, but none of the peasantry do. Also who is telling him he's of royal blood. I certainly hope its not just random people off the street. Was he told that his brother would be king one day when he was four? because Sariel has been king for twenty years. Who was his mother and why doesn't he know her? How did he end up growing up outside of the castle? He used his freedom as a ticket? Why is he so particularly free and how does it pay for anything? yes I am taking that too literally.

So I'm not accepting it in its current state.

@Crimson Raven

You may be tall and strong, but not this tall or strong. Yeah this won't be easy for you alone. Fortunately you have friends. Okay at least they probably won't try and kill you. The other thing to mention to you is that so far both characters who part demon or otherwise touched by them, Aegis and Raven von Stein, have inner voices, so I think I'm going to make it a thing that people who are altered in some way by the void are spoken to by one entity or another of the void. You are of course free to call this a bad idea. but assuming you do not hate it then the voice calling "Traitor" is addressing the voice in Aegis's head. And yes that should tell you a little something about why this bandit is so huge and so strong. Oh and it is a maul not a mace. Good luck muahahahahahaha!

Sooooo ... I'm just curious, while Liara may be from another land, she was also tainted with ... demon blood? Would she be included in this?

And now I have to really think of a good post to this all haha

Well I literally jusy came up with the idea this morning... so yeah it may not fit. If we all really like the idea though then we can just relable the blood to be something other than demonic, maybe it was still presented as such, but wasn't. I'll wait to see if @Crimson Raven has anything to say on the matter as a whole and proceed accordingly.

Mmmmaaayyyyybbbeeee, Liara was tainted by a benevolent creature? And so, the effects are different?

I'll take it into account later if the idea is not ditched. Still waiting on an explanation on something from Crimson Raven in our pm's. Alternatively you can shoot the whole idea if you don't like it since you do have a stake in it.
