@ViolentViolet Definitely anything you want as far as faceclaims / character appearance goes. Anime, real, art, whatever. So long as we get the feel for it.

@Kidd ok, and yeah not very important for everyday use. It was a bastard but it and claymores are very simular, i was trying to keep the hybrid appeal without using the heavily used katana. I'll work on my post when I hit home, also I read about the society and the octus And love the idea behind it.

@EthTenshi Awesome! And thanks, but all the Society / Octus stuff was all Varionus and Nyte. I had literally nothing to do with it lol

Hi all. I'm the resident hunting expert, sorry I haven't spoken up yet. I've posted my character, Trenton, in the characters tab, but I'll throw him here too. Don't judge it for being 'too simple,' he's more fleshed out than it makes him seem.

Do the hunters have any special exceptions for weapons? Such as a "Get out of jail free" card for carrying something like a concealed sawn off double barreled shotgun? (Typically illegal.)

Also, your mention of "anything you can reasonably find" was a bit vague, so would you give me something a little more concise? Would the hunters be working with weapons bought from standard weapons retailers (And thus typically restricted to non-assault versions of things.) or would they have special military grants and be given things that are normally banned from standard sale?

Sorry, I'm a bit of a gun nut so specifics are important.

Hunters work off the grid, so they typically do not get government or police assistance in their hunting. I don't want you to feel restricted, so if you can reasonably justify it, your character can have it.

However, Ex can answer you better, especially since his Hunter is a detective who--as a result--has some privilege in regards to law that might be beneficial to local Hunters.

I can answer that question for you.

As stated before, hunters are pretty much not sanctioned so if you're caught with an illegal weapon yeah, no exceptions. However, Hunters are already doing illegal shit so go ahead and use an assault version if you'd like. Just don't expect yourself to have really HEAVY weaponry. Also if the cops come knocking around, you would be persecuted like any other criminal. It's basically a sign of "The Society" succeeding in their goal of blending in and vampires becoming fantasy, and as a result hunters are viewed as serial killers.

Though generally in practice with enough time/connections you would be able to get machine guns of the sort, just know that it isn't cost effective. (You're working with a civilian budget here) SO just spamming bullets isn't the smartest choice either. After all, a well placed molotov cocktail is gonna be cheaper than buying .50 cal ammo all the time, and more practical. (Not to mention the cops aren't going to go nuts over someone having a molotov than a machine gun)

Again, most hunters don't have high end jobs where they can buy the BEST weapons. Just look at mine and Exodus's. Exodus's is a rare case where he does actually have the moola, so he has a pistol, a shotgun, and a rifle, while mine only has a shotgun. He also has to buy ammo for all three guns.

That being said, you can reasonably have assault weapons. Just know you're gonna have to be able to keep these weapons out of sight at times, so concealment is something you'd have to deal with. While it may not be ILLEGAL to necessarily own some of these assault weapons, walking with one in broad daylight is going to bring attention to you.

@Nytem4re Hm. With that in mind I think I'll make use of the armory from Counter Strike: Global Operations as a weapons base, since that would be the most realistic setup that I could think of for right now.

Does that work for everyone else?

Just think about what you have in mind and post your CS in the OOC when you're ready. We'll tell you if it's an issue, but I think you're fine.

psst....Also it's global offensive

Name: Alexander Redson

Species: Human- Hunter.

Age: 35

Appearance: Alexander looks pretty average. That's good, it helps him blend into crowds. Alexander stands at the fairly average height of 5'10" and has neck length shaggy brown hair. Alexander's eyes are a dull green in color and grant him stellar 20/20 vision. His face is of an average build. Nothing exceedingly unattractive yet nothing that would standout as handsome or unique. Alexander has fairly average shoulders and an okay build due to a spotty workout routine. Alexander's skin is rather pale and he never seems to take a tan for any amount of time, he never complains about this.

Alexander has little to no deviation in his wardrobe choices and owns several identical sets of clothing. His standard appearance consists of a plain grey knit cap that he keeps folded just above his eyes. This cap covered the tips of his ears and his forehead, but it can cover his whole face if he unfurls it. His standard appearance consists of a plain black Tee-Shirt (He swaps this for a long sleeve shirt if it’s cold.) underneath a plain black leather zip-up jacket. With this he wears a pair of grey cargo pants and finally a pair of steel toe working boots with a special insole added into them to make them much more comfortable to wear.

Between Alexander’s jacket and shirt he wears a matte black tactical shoulder holster where he keeps his handgun and at least three fully loaded magazines at almost all times, along with the proper licenses for concealed and open carry. This holster and his handgun are the reasons for the black and grey wardrobe choices, rather than an attempt to join a crowd of angsty teenagers.

Personality: Alexander is a practical person, and is very down to earth. He doesn’t like to waste time and will often skip to the end of something if he feels that it’s unimportant. Alexander is also largely antisocial and prefers to scour the internet for information rather than chat with a party.

Equipment: Alexander carries with him his personal pet project of a handgun: A powerful IMI Desert Eagle with a potent flashlight and laser sight combination mounted beneath the barrel. This monster of a handgun is chambered in the massive .50 Action Express round and holds seven rounds per standard load. It’s completely impractical in terms of a handgun, but most people don’t expect to be put face to face with such a monster, and Alexander definitely enjoys the intimidation factor that he gains when his handgun is in play. The Desert Eagle is also matte black in color to better hide it among all of his black clothing. Alexander carries three magazines with him on his tactical holster and has four more distributed among the pockets in his cargo pants.

The .50 AE ammo for the desert eagle is made of a special ally of silver and titanium and is a hollowpoint style round. The Silver and Titanium alloy was found to be necessary due to how pure silver would warp and break under such high pressures.

Aside from that, Alexander carries a standard flip-style phone with plenty of texts and minutes on hand to make important calls when and where it’s needed. This is accompanied by a wallet containing the standard fare of personal identifications and duplicates of his concealed and open carry licenses, as well as the keys to a completely refurbished DeLorean DMC-12.

Background: Alexander grew up rather ignorant of the world. He was very antisocial to begin with and simply didn’t mesh well with people, often getting annoyed at people’s extreme ignorance to how interruptive their own actions were. (Let’s stop and take the tenth selfie of us walking down this street!)

As he became more and more isolated from the world, Alexander was drawn more and more into the world of the internet. He became very attuned to computers and savvy on how to fix and bypass common problems with them. This proved to be rather useful when he found out about the hunters early on, but thought that they were just another edgy group trying to make a scene. It wasn’t until his parents were devoured by a roaming feral vampire that he really saw the light.

Alexander’s father was always a major fan of all things military, and frequently participated in shooting contests since he couldn’t join up due to his leg being crippled in a work accident at a young age. It was rather fortunate for Alexander that his father did this since these contests brought in a lot of money and exotic prizes. Alexander took the two things that his father coveted most out of his winnings: The IMI Desert Eagle and a refurbished DeLorean DMC-12 and got to work training himself to shoot with the monster of a handgun.

A year has passed, and Alexander is now a fresh recruit within the Hunter’s ranks.

Extra: Alexander adores ramen noodles, and his favorite phrase is “May the desert eagle spread her wings for you.”

@Valor At a glance, that looks good to me. However, I'mma leave this one up to Nyte and Ex since they have Hunters of their own. You'd also most likely be the last Hunter we accept should your sheet pass.

Hey guys, just a quick heads up, I edited my CS a bit to specifically cover what ammo he was using. I forgot that this was actually an important detail!

Hmm, interesting, since the last vampire i've been hasn't been updated in a while. Does animal blood consumption work in a pinch for a vampire?

@AtomicNut In a pinch, yes, but human (or vamp) blood is necessary to survive.

@Valor

Haha, I'm glad you brought the silver bullets up, because it was something I was going to address. So after some further discussion, we've decided that a Desert Eagle really isn't practical. Too costly and too high-profile for a hunter to really get away with. So if you switch that up we can take another look at what you've got. :)

On a side note, we've also decided that fully-automatic weapons and extended mags are out of the question.

@AtomicNut Blood from bags are good and blood from a fresh kill should be fine. Basically, if you can put it in a living person, it's good to drink.

@Exodus Alrighty then. Using The CS:GO weapon set as a base, what isn't allowed from that? (Assume that all of them are civil versions.)
