Trad Oak – Capture The Fort

The soft sound of crunching twigs and branches slowly became louder as the Beowulfs closed in. Hidden behind a tree like the others, Trad carefully set down the portable battery he had been carrying and drew his sword and shield. He decided to keep his shield in basic circle form until they were ready for combat, however, as it wasn’t exactly designed to open quietly and as such would instantly give away the groups location when expanded.

Looking to see where his teammates were, Trad watched Robert ascend a nearby tree to gain a better vantage point. Trad hoped Delta would have the same idea and climb before the monsters closed in. Once the Beowulfs attacked it would be very much a close quarter combat situation. The team sniper would be at a heavy disadvantage if he stayed on the ground. Gripping tightly to his sword Trad gave a hard nod to their leader letting him know he was ready to fight the second Robert either gave the signal, or leapt into combat himself.

Patrol Mission

The cat playing on Skyra's tail still continued to playfully nibble on it even after she fell, at least until the bald boy whistled for it. [b]"bad Chihiro! Don't hurt the customers!"[/color] The little kitten climbed onto Skyra's head before jumping off, landing on a table and running towards the leader. He caught the kitten and placed him gently onto his shoulders. Once the cat was safely secure he turned back towards Krysthane. "Anyways, nice to meet all of y'all. And you're the ones who stopped the robberies? I was wondering why I haven't heard much about them recently... Hmm. Didn't know about the robots though. I thought it was the work of gangs. Most of my leads were gang related, so I can't really tell you much about the robots. Buuuut," The gang leader left the team for a moment, returning with a business card. "I know a guy a few blocks down, a mechanic, who specializes in robots and such. If there's anything to know about those robots, he should know. Oh! I guess I ought to let you know what I figured out last time. Maybe it'd be helpful."

The bald-headed leader told the team about various gangs within the city of Vale, what their territory was, their methods, and some of the rumors about their crimes and the trouble they've caused. One gang in particular, known as "The Mousers" are a particularly violent gang that actually are criminals that need to be put down. They stood out because there was an image of one of their members, but in the background was something familiar: the tag found at the last scene, W.A.R. There isn't much known about where they official have their HQ at, but the bald guy mentioned that he took the picture at the Land of Walt.

"One more thing!" The bald headed leader gave Krysthane a set of keys. "It's not much, but I got a car in the garage. It looks pretty, but under the hood it isn't all that great. I haven't tuned it for racing yet. Still, better than walking around everywhere, yeah? I'll let you take it out for a spin, so take care of it!"

Luke Schwarz -- Brewing Storm

In the space of a half second, Lucas's instincts went from "calm yet cautious" to "DEFCON 1", a bloodcurdlingly saccharine giggle rippling through the halls, into his eardrums, and smashing themselves against every alarm in his head that millions of years of evolution had hardwired, before even conscious thought arose.

Conscious thought, as it was, continued with the theme and was hot on it's heels, allowing him to make an executive order: Guard up, Gauntlets on.

He had more than half a mind to go all the way to drills, but shoved it back as far as he could for now.

That would cripple Amy's senses, the high-pitched whirring all but literally driving nails through her eardrums.

Which we need right now, in light this low!

Feeling his own pulse pound within his skull, he prayed his eyes would adjust soon, because he had no doubt in his mind that these... things were bad news.

Grane Blauer- "Capture the Fort"

Grane could have been a smug bastard at that point, but he guessed being right in this situation was enough. The enemy was already out in force and looking for them. He decided to do the same as Robert and Trad, climbing up the closest tree he could find. The grimm were getting closer and closer, and it would only be a matter of time before the team was seen. Grane unsheathed his glaives, preparing for first contact.

Well, the only element of surprise Redingote would have would be if they jumped in now. Perhaps have Delta fire the first shot, and then rush the grimm. Seeing how their previous conversation went nowhere, Grane decided to trust Robert's orders for now. If Grane judged every order in the field, he would probably get killed trying to argue with Robert. If their leader was to be an effective one, Robert would have to be decisive. Grane would bring up complaints after they were out of the active combat situation.

"It's now or never Robert. What should we do?"

Jack Orpheus | Brewing Storm Mission

Their ranged fighters were at a disadvantage in the low light, but if their melee fighters could create a zone from which they can fire from, they can handily get through this. Their red glowing eyes would give their position away, but they would shift quickly, becoming a red blur in the shadows while tilting inhumanly before they emerged and attacked. Jack had no problems, as he was able to react quickly enough to counter-attack as they flew at him. Though their strength did not seem to be stealth or element of surprise here as he realized... It was numbers, and who knows how many of them there were.

"We need to keep moving, we can't stay here and just fight", he suggested, after kicking another away.

"Someone with strength take point, I'll cover your back. Everyone else watch our flanks and rear", it was a plan. But they had to move fast, otherwise they would be overrun.

Cian Kuze | Brewing Storm - Without a Paddle

"Ill watch our rear since im limited right now." Cian Said as she pointed byakko at the rear trusting the others to watch her back her semblance was possibly the best option she had at the moment. She would be able to protect the rear giving time for them to act since she was of no use at the moment. Holding byakko in its long barreled mode with the blade in front of her she watched as closely as she could. Things was not going well that much was for sure. Still she thought as she calmed her breath now was not the time for such thoughts she had to get her head focused and prepared to react as fast as possible.

IC: Amaranth Desire, Living Her Nightmares One Day at a Time

"Damn!" Amy cursed, wishing that she was an owl faunus instead of a hawk. Her eyes were still better than an ordinary person's, but they weren't exactly the 20/2 vision actual hawks had, nor could she sense some of the wavelengths that birds could see. As far as night vision went, hawks were far from the most gifted birds... But of course, hawks didn't exactly have Semblances to make up for deficiencies.

Amy's shield, retracted to allow her to use the Fury's ranged capabilities, whirred back out and, with a clang, locked into place. One more trigger pulled and the spear was in Amy's hands, her stance shifting to hold her shield forward and spear outward from their group. She closed her eyes, took one deep breath, willing the pounding of her heart to calm, allowing her Semblance to go higher, time to slow, and the darkness to resolve itself somewhat, just enough...

"I've got point," she said, letting the breath out, her eyes opening again, her voice a soft but audible whisper, but loud in her ears. It made the most sense. With the Fury in shield form and her senses ramped to the point they were, she'd be the most capable of picking a way through the hall and blocking these things. "Get my back," she whispered, then smirked, muttering something too low for any of the others to hear, starting toward the light slowly, her weapon and defense ready to parry any of the incoming goblinoids.

Regardless of whether they wanted to go into it, she and the others at least needed some more light.

Krysthane - Patrol Mission

Krysthane gave the leader a smile. "Sweet, you've been a real help. I'll bring your car back and I'll even buy something next time I visit." she said pleasantly as she grabbed the keys and entered the garage marveling at the car. It might not be tuned for racing but it sure looked nice. Krysthane jumped in the driver's seat and said, "Come on guys, lets go visit this mechanic!", she at least was having fun so far. The investigation was off to a good start and she got to drive a sweet car. Krysthane started up the car and thrummed the engine experimentally while waiting for the rest of her team to get in. Using this just to get to the mechanic might be overkill but it would be helpful later. They'd probably end to the land of Walt afterwards, she'd have to make sure they didn't get distracted by ice cream. Again.

Sarina Tala Dei – Team JESS with an L – Defending a Caravan

In the good twenty minutes on her caravan ride, Sarina had finally found her sword, blown off across by the winds beforehand during her descent which allowed her to relax calmly as she had not lost a weapon that had been with her so long. The worst mistake of the twenty minutes was that no one was on top the caravan defending it when they descended Taijutu hell, until of course the purple-haired girl arrived.

“I have never seen you before, maybe the others” Sarina said sternly and unfazed from the attack. [1]. Of course if she had never come to their aid, she could have easily dealt with these snakes, after as her blade became luminous blue.

--

Notes:

[1]: Well after much searching for Sarina VA, I finished Durarara and thus, her voice actor is Bridget Hoffman, the voice for Namie in the anime series. Her voice is perfect and fits Sarina extremely well.

Estelle Sidos Heurassein - Defending a Caravan

As soon as Estelle had seen the canyon on the horizon, her hand rested on the pommel of her blade. She knew at some point or another she would have to draw it in order to defend herself. The entire ride up to the canyon was beautiful, but completely silent. They were a team of seniors and as such knew how a mission should proceed. That being said, their captain unconscious wasn’t exactly part of the plan. As they descended in between the rocky cushions the land had developed, eroded over time Estelle grew wearier. She shot a glance across the way to Sterling, she figured he’d feel the same if he wasn’t already taking a nap or something.

Estelle unsheathed her weapon and took some of the lighting dust from one of its compartments, activating it. She jumped up on top of the caravan and waved down to the girl, attempting to dictate that she should move to them but stay out of the line of fire. Afterwards all that was left was to get to work, Estelle breathed deeply taking in her breath and as the air exited her lungs she allowed the lightning to flow through her and shoot directly towards the Tajitus, she was attempting to aim for their upper bodies hopefully bisecting at least two.

Lauren Negasi

From behind the hawk Faunus, a familiar giggle was nonetheless more muted than usual.

"Oh, sure," came the adjoining whisper, "not like I run off positive energy or anything. If my ass gets kicked, yours is so to blame. Hey Cap, how about you? Wanna try a little tenderness wit' me?"

All the while, she kept one finger on the camera mounted to the right lens of her BaSTEELs. If Amy's night vision failed them in any way, worst case scenario, Lauren could flick on the flash momentarily and aim it at the ground. See if anything sketchy was scuttling towards 'em.

Some help the valley girl was.

Well, that wasn't fair. Not Priscilla's fault that someone chose to get the Grimm wet and throw them a banquet after midnight.

Just sucked that now they had to kick that much more ass.

Gratia Mindaro - Zephyr Outskirts

"I wILl keep my lips zipped then, cApTAiN~" said the teenaged Huntress, fingers of her left hand dancing light across the hilt of her sabre. "However ... don't keep me waITing."

She was falling. She was losing clarity. Her blood was screaming for it. Those that shared a team with her ... their harsh rebukes ... their very presences ... they were drifting into nothing. It was a haze. A haze of violence and anticipation and glorious bloodshed. The world was narrowing. Fiordilatte meant absolutely fucking nothing. Venetia was little more than a distant insect. Harken was a non-entity, irrelevant as if merely a small thought in the mind of a rodent. There was only the battlegrounds of the future. There was only her and those she sought to punish for their transgressions.

There was only neutralising everything that threatened Nuit's safety.

Gratia Mindaro waited with a serene smile.

Her onyx orbs watched chillingly.

It was nearly time.

Benjamin Lloyd - Brewing Storm

"Let's focus, huh, Negasi? Mission first, flirt later." Ben shot back, keeping his cool once the lights went out. Faint implications of movement in the dark drew his attention, but they weren't surprising. The power wasn't going to go out naturally. It was their new Grimm friends, of course. He could see them clearer as the seconds went by, but not well enough yet. A single shotgun blast from each weapon made sure nothing was too close in front of him while he smoothly drew closer to the flank of the newly-organized formation of hunters, with Amy at the front.

"I've got right flank. If anyone's going to light things up, warn us. Don't want to wreck our night vision. Amy, lead the way."

Robert Fallson - Capture the Fort

Everyone seemed to be in position for an ambush, Robert had lost sight of Delta due to the amount of foliage blocking his view so he wasn't sure about everyone, so the team leader decided that it was the time to attack. "Now everyone! Atta- Ugh!" he shouted before finding his hood caught in one of the many branches. "This isn't the time for my luck to be acting up," he complained while struggling to free himself. Meanwhile, the Beowolf pack leader was eyeing Robert up and down like one would a delicious snack. As it finally lunged at the redheaded boy, Robert finally unsnagged his clothing from the branches and just narrowly dodged the creature of Grimm.

Getting in a defensive stance, Robert taunted, "Alright ugly, time to get what's..." That's when he noticed it. Shreds of paper littering the ground around the Beowolf's feet. He instantly knew what it was, but that didn't stop him from checking his pockets anyway. Sure enough though, it was missing. "That... was the only thing I had to remember my family's faces," he said, staring in disbelief at the ripped photo. "And you destroyed it!" Rage filled his eyes as Robert suddenly charged forward at the Grimm, even taking the terrifying beast off-guard. A flurry of slashes and stabs pierced the pack leader's hide as it cried out in agony, unable to even defend itself from the speed of Robert's attacks. Soon it lay motionless on the ground, slowly disappearing into a dark mist. Anger still flowed through Robert's veins as he turned toward the rest of the Beowolf pack. "Who's next?!"

Once Krysthane's friend told them everything he knew, Ebon followed her out of the cafe towards the car. On the way he snatched a kitten and tucked it into his pocket, where it mewed quietly in confusion. Wanting to keep the little cat a secret Ebon spoke to it using his telepathy. "Hush little one. We're going to hang out, just for today." Once the team arrived to the car Ebon had his doubts. He wasn't sure if he could fit the Kingdom inside, and if he could it was going to be a tight fit. He also questioned Krysthane's driving ability. Ebon at least had a license to drive, though he never had the Lien to buy a car. "Don't park us up a tree Krysthane." Carefully maneuvering The Kingdom into the back seat, Ebon waited for the others while stealthily playing with the kitten behind his tower shield.

A Friend In Need

As VGNB moved forward with their plan they would soon figure out that the Dodici family syndicate lived atop the hill that Zephyr was built on. They made their business their home, they ran all of Zephyr’s banking, living above the bank itself the building looked like an apartment building. Which was good news for Beryl whom had previously decided to scope out the building in order to find entryways. There were plenty of windows. What she would find is that the upper floors were mainly residential, the higher up you were in the building, the higher up you were in the family. She would also notice the presence of a warehouse out back behind the building. While she couldn’t get a great view of the lobby from any one vantage point she did know that if they entered that way they could scope it out fairly easily.

The rest of the team, could see the front doors of the Dodici family bank. It seemed that two men working security detail were directly outside of the building and in past them another two, and a teller. Once Beryl met back up with her team they would have to make the decision how exactly to approach this situation.

Darkness, a dripping noise, men speaking, other Faunus crying out for loved ones. This was everything Bianca’s senses could tell her about her surroundings. One minute she was with her family and the other families in Zephyr that were well represented. The next, she was here. She got ready to call for help, perhaps someone she knew as here. But she was struck by a blunt object.

Darkness, a dripping noise, men speaking, other Faunus crying out for loved ones, and the taste of blood. This was everything Bianca’s senses could tell her.

Capture the Fort

The death of the Alpha Beowulf hardly bothered the rest of the pack. If anything, it made it easier for them. While Robert was busy unleashing his rage against the Alpha, the other wolves surrounded Robert to cut off any possible avenues of escape. Then all eleven of them pounced at him at the same time, lunging out with their claws and fangs and overwhelm him with numbers. Even if he could take down one or two, the others from behind, above, and below would attack him relentlessly. While this was bad news for Robert, this also meant that the Beowolves were not focusing on the possibility that there might be other hunters near by. So the rest of Team RDGT need to be quick, before they lost their foolishly brave leader.

@Guess Who@Jedly@Nytem4re@Awesomoman64

Sticky Situation

As Team Canvas were speaking to one another, a voice broke over the airship's intercoms. "Hello Team Canvas, this is Velvet of Team Coffee. We see your airship coming so I'll begin to inform you of what we're up against. There are multiple entrances to the Ariadne's nest, however each one has natural structures fortifying it, making it difficult for even us to approach without alerting the entire brood. Walls of briers, poison-spewing plants, pit falls and other traps, webs, and of course the broodlings. Fortunately they're mostly concentrated around the nests itself. However we've also spotted Nevermores roosting in the trees and occasionally King Taijitu on the forest floor." As Velvet informed the team of this information she also sent a digital map of the area, highlighting different things such as traps, the rough patrols of the various Grimm, and other important information such as safe locations for the team to bunker down if things get rough.

"We haven't been able to get very far inside the nest, but we suspect that it'll be even more vast and complex. Fortunately, we found one entrance into the nest that seems to be mostly unguarded by the broodlings. We've managed to get a fair distance within before we found more broodling activities, so it may be your best chance to infiltrate the nest with minimal confrontations. However we have also noticed recent signs of Taijitu marking at this entrance, and while we haven't confronted any ourselves, please be careful. If you need any assistance now will be a good time to ask. Once you're in the nest communication to the surface will be impossible due to how deep you'll be going." But before the team could ask any questions, there was a loud screeching in the distance. A single Nevermore flew up from the forests and spotted the air craft. It seemed like it was going to attack.

The pilot was forced to make some evasive actions as the Nevermore shot feathered flechettes at the aircraft. While the vehicles was durable enough to take some hits and the pilot had the skill to out maneuver the creature, it lacked any weapons to take on the Nevermore directly. And with the Nevermore harassing the aircraft, Team Canvas was either going to have to try to fight the creature while on the ship, or make an emergency landing so they can escape. They had other options too, but very little time. Soon Coco's voice cracked over the intercom. "Get out of there quickly. Take too long and you'll alert the whole forest!"

Skyra sighed long and hard. "A car... seriously...", she mumbled. From the get go, she was skeptic about stepping into that car. First of all, it didn't look safe enough for her, especially when Krys was driving. Not that she didn't trust her team's leader, but she doubted her ability to drive. Secondly, this was more or less exactly the opposite of "stealthy".
Which was why she had to bring it up to their leader.
"Krys... a car is not exactly the most... subtle way of getting around... I am pretty sure there are other ways of reaching our mechanic. I don't really want to get ambushed on our way there, 'cause I am pretty certain our enemy already knows that we're out here..."
Mentally Skyra already prepared herself for her objection to be rejected. She knew she had no chance in hell to do stuff sneakily in this team of loud people.
A slight smile spread over her face at that thought, just for a second, to be replaced by her usual emotionless, business visage.

When Robert was a boy, living on the streets all on his own, one activity he enjoyed to do was to visit the library. There were countless numbers of books and, if you were to ask, most of the librarians there would have sworn that that redheaded child had read every single one. As the pack of Beowolves closed in around him and the burning rage he had just felt quickly turned to fear and worry, Robert recalled a specific line from one of those many books. It was some sort of guide, for hitchhiking if memory served him right, that read, "What to do if you find yourself stuck with no hope of rescue: Consider yourself lucky that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn't been good to you so far, which given your present circumstances seems more likely, consider yourself lucky that it won't be troubling you much longer."

In that moment though, Robert decided that if he was going to die, he wasn't going to lie down and take it. At first he activated the ballistic form of his bracers, but soon realized that, with his team so near, that firing shots off in random directions would only lead to disaster. Switching back to his weapons' blade form, Robert charged at the nearest Beowolf.

The team leader aimed for the beast's jugular, causing the Grimm to try to duck underneath. It underestimated the huntsman-in-training's speed though and was met with both blades in its eyesockets.

One of the Beowolves thought that Robert had now left himself open for attack and lunged forward to take a bite out of him. The boy quickly raised his leg and kicked the Grimm's face though, sending shards of broken teeth in all directions.

These weren't dumb animals though, and it didn't take long for them to realize that attacking one at a time was a foolhardy plan. While one Beowulf tried to turn his head into a chew toy, another used its claws to try and take a swipe out of him. In the blink of an eye, Robert changed one bracer to its ballistic mode and put a 10mm round between the hungry Grimm's eyes. He attempted to use the other bracer to block the incoming claw, but was too slow, allowing the claw to rip through his flesh.

Robert collapsed on the ground in pain. He wasn't going to last much longer if his team didn't try to help him.

Sangue Naga - Brewing Storm

Despite her fair silence, Sangue was still paying full attention to her surroundings.

In fact, so far there were not several things that disturbed her senses; there were quite a handful of unnatural presences in the area, and she was pretty sure that every other hunter present near her vicinity knew that. She kept her hands on her blade, remaining watchful over what could strike.

But again, while her offense was moderately powerful, she had nothing to cover her aside from her aura for defense.

Which led to her simply trailing her team leader.

She wasn't using him as a human shield; she just felt less nervous around the presence of her teammates.

Then the lights turned off.

With Ben stating that he would protect one of the flanks, Sangue stayed close to him and prepared to back him up. Her expression was no longer idle; her eyebrows were furrowed slightly, her lips tightening into a small frown.
