I hope it's okay that I changed some of the formatting (I kept the categories the same). I can change it back if you want.

You are aware that white cats are highly likely to be deaf, and that risk is even higher for those with white fur and blue eyes? Almost every registered case of cats with white fur and blue eyes are deaf.

I've heard that too. However, I'd point out that Cloudtail was a prominent character in the Warriors series, who had white fur and blue eyes.

@Iatos
Granitepaw could be Amberleaf's younger brother, but they probably wouldn't be littermates if he's much younger, and I'm trying to figure out how siblings from different litters would happen to be together in a time of loose bands of loners and rogues. That said, I would be open to it.

It's a book in the children section of the library XD I would love to point out there there were two other instances of white cats with blue eyes in the series and both were deaf. I don't want to appear cross or mean, but realism was stated in the opening thread. So I figured I should point it out to make sure you were aware.

I've heard that some animals are born with blue eyes that later change into a different color that stays permanent for the rest of the animal's life. (Wolves are my biggest example. No pure adult wolf has blue eyes, but pups have them.) Maybe that could be a thing?

@CLIW
It could be. In a lot of species the offspring are born with blue eyes but it's not often the case with cats with lots of white fur. It's an attached gene, but I won't criticize if that's the case. I've had plenty of experience with cats lol

I was just making sure you were aware. I made my own cat with white fur and odd coloured eyes, and she's deaf in one ear. So I thought it would make sense to ascertain you had the knowledge.

Correct me if I'm wrong but- isn't it against the warrior code for a medicine cat to have a mate?

EDIT- I just realized the clans are recently formed. It'd be interesting to see if the code effects the relationship.

Lol in this rp the code hasn't been established yet actually. So I'm going to message Otter about it when they get back on to talk about the code. I had some suggestions.

Medicine cats are supposed to protect all cats equally regardless of clan, they don’t have mates or kits because it would create a bias as to which lives to save. An example could be not wanting to cure a cat who killed your mate or preferring to help a mildly sick offspring instead of a very sick other. It is logical for them to not have families but since the clans are very recent and there are very few that have experience with herbs and an actual connection to StarClan for now it could be allowed.

My point being that right now it should be allowed because of the narrative’s necessity but when the rules are set similar issues can be argued in-game as the characters shape the world. However it is up to Otter, I'm just giving my opinion.

Perhaps once should take into consideration that in the interest check where we planned the role play it was stated that they were going to make up the warrior code as we went along - with some minor/major deviations from the original series. Not to mention it took generations for the cats to learn what it was that they should and should not do. As for choosing which cats to save, that, my friend, is exactly why Starclan picks the medicine cats and no one else.

And I did say I was going to take to Otter right? It's not your place to point out and critisize something that has not yet been decided by the Game Master :)

In no way was I trying to criticize I was just giving my opinion as to why the rule makes a lot of sense in the books. I'm not trying to disapprove anything as you said it is not my place I only wanted to share information about the subject that in my head sounded pretty neutral. My intentions were only to give some background on why the rule is there not to talk about whether I agree with it or not. Its holiday season, I honestly didn’t intend to start an argument I just wanted to share context. I'm really sorry if you felt hostility or disapproval when you read my previous post but this is my third language and maybe what I had planned to say came out wrong. So I apologize once again and hope you have a merry Christmas.

Yeah, maybe he simply followed him as I mentioned. As clans have just been established I assume they were both born outside it and even if they were so at different times its not unlikely they stayed together for a while.

Merry xmas

So anyone who wants Shadowkit to be his/her apprentice? He still needs a mentor as he is almost old enough to be an apprentice.
