Have you guys tried to use a normal monster deck with Heart of the Underdog even with Igknights and stuff? It's pretty hard. It either gets destroyed before you get value out of it or you don't draw a normal monster. Kinda sucks.

I have actually, using HotU in a normal pendulum monster deck, I ended up drawing like 10 cards.

@Ammokkx That's probably good and if you need any ideas just hit me up. Where as I cannot properly write the language in what the Yugioh card game uses so I can only give you some ideas.

Yeah, you don't want it to be similar to Cyber Dragon so you want to try to change as much as you can.

2. Still a tribute summon, requiring field set up and unless you tribute a Maju monster, it's not even as good as Legendary Maju Garzett assuming most monsters are lvl 3+ monsters have at least 900 attack, Even a lvl 10 monster just needs 3k attack to be better.

Not to mention, it's also Spell/Trap bounce or monster bounce if you have 1 Maju card out.

4. Yes it's Lava Golem, originally was tribute "1" then I thought, well that becomes really OP because with tribute "2" I'd need to at least be facing 2 monsters for it to become a lava golem. Should I make it require 3 tributes to make it even more difficult to summon?

The tributing is what makes Golem strong. It's removal. Lava Golem is balanced because it gives your opponent a 3k damage monster.

5. Half LP at 4k starting LP? it's 2k attack. Plus it's a constant effect, so any LP damage that your opponent takes effectively lowers its attack. If it was equal to the battle damage you took, then it could get really absurd attack points. But it's your call.

We're going to switch to 8K at some point. Probably when we get good decks and start OTKing each other at 4k.

7. Remove it from the field using Non-destruction effects. Namely things that send to graveyard, shuffle into deck, return to hand or banish. Alternatively, use cards that remove XYZ material from it which do exist. But yes I can admit that it can become a problem very quickly if you can't take care of it. But then again it can only attack once per turn and does no battle damage, so the easiest way to deal with this card is to summon no monsters and force it to use up Material.

Having zero monsters on the field is terrible strategy. You can summon another monster to deal damage.

By the way, @Xeiyenreisha Thinking of making some more 'Void Dragon' support, but I'm going to try and make it as different from Cyber dragon as I can by making it more focused on summoning unique fusion monsters using already existing cards rather than having effect monsters who's name can be treated as it's. (Also a unique fusion spell I've yet to work out.) Example:

Name: Void Battler
Level/rank: LV 7
Attribute: Dark
Monster Type(s): Warrior
Effect: Void Dragon + Cyber Raider
This card is always also treated as a Machine-Type. This card can not be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon. You can only Fusion Summon this card using cards who's original, printed name are the same as the listed Fusion Material Monsters. When this card is Fusion Summoned: You can Banish one card from your hand to target up to two face-up cards on your opponent's field; Banish them. Return the banished cards in the exact state they were in before they left the field during the End Phase of the turn this card was Fusion Summoned. When this attacks an opponent's monster, you can discard one Machine-Type monster from your hand to the graveyard to destroy the battled Monster before Damage Calculation.
ATK/DEF: 2300/2000

As in keeping with the theme with Void Dragon, it has two powerful effects which cost you a card, as to keep within the theme of "Get rid of something for more power". Not quite sure how balanced the effect is though, I came up with this on the spot more or less. Also not sure if you're really okay with more Void Dragon support, but like I said I don't want to make it quite as much of a Cyber Dragon clone as it is now.

That's an interesting effect and support monster for the Void Dragon.

Oops sorry, I'm babysitting a puppy so it's hard to read and watch the puppy at the sametime. It's a Mallanoid and they tend to destroy things if you do not keep an eye on them. I will fix that.

There, fixed.

Now that I got the puppy asleep, I can read this more clearly without having to just skim through the posts and misinterpret who came up with this idea. I saw clearly you were the one that came up with this card idea and not Charak, sorry about that.

I'm guessing returning them at the End Phase means remove those monsters from play and then at the End Phase they return to the field in the same position as they were before they were banished, correct? I like this card as it does have quite an interesting approach to it and does follow alongside the Void Dragon theme.

@SilverDawn I'll be the judge of whether or not we'll switch to 8k, thanks :U. It'll only happen if being at 4k is starting to become a problem.

Yyyyyeah pretty much. I try to stick to concepts. Made this one up on the spot though, and prolly going to think of more support when I set my mind to wanting to do it.

Whoa, hold up a second there. If you want to upgrade your deck you'll have to do it like everyone else, by buying boosters. I promised you'd get one support card for sure, yeah, but that's also because it's going to be a unique card. As in, only one copy is going to be in the RP and Tsukiko will have it. If you want Void Battler, you'd better find it in a pack :U

Having zero monsters on the field is terrible strategy. You can summon another monster to deal damage.

1) Valid point, but there are still some stronger cards out there IE BRD, Exciton that are relatively easier to get out, and nuke the field. Nothing stops you from using the backrow in response. Getting the Maju card out is the problem since they usually require tributes.

2) a 3k damage monster that burns you for 1k each turn. What's the point of having a 3k monster when you already had a 3k monster with an effect that protects it from most destruction? I'd say Lava golem is worse just because you really don't want keep it and take 1k per turn. This one at least allows you to retain effect, so it doesn't hurt as much. I wonder if should change it from "special summon" to tribute summon, so it prevents additional summoning.

3) This card is actually based off of Endless decay, which has a similar effect when you are down at 2k LP. I suppose it could be changed to the amount of damage you took, but that makes it static number, as opposed to a variable number.

4) Having zero monsters is a valid strategy. That's like saying "Drawing cards and searching your deck is a bad idea because you could deck out and lose when your opponent uses hand destruction." You have to play the game dynamically, not statically. Would you play your trump monster when you know there is a Warning in your opponent's backrow? No. would you play out a monster to first try and bait it out? Probably. IF they don't negate it, then would you use that monster to maximum capacity? Most likely. Best of all just grab Temtempo on this thing, or flip it face down and destroy it that way :I It's not scary at all.

I'm doing it like Komoney will be doing it: Mixing packs up. Like I did with the CE's in the previous booster pack, I put like a 3rd of them in there and the rest will be spread out over other packs. Or clockwork, I put in half there and the other half will come in the next pack. All custom archetypes will be split like this, though odd cases like Scarifar's Parshath support are going to have to be tossed in with the rest since I don't have enough cards of them to theme a booster around.
