@Divine Darkness I'm just curious how involuntary her power set is in a school full of mutants with dozens of powers to pluck from the air at any point of 30 feet within the last 5 hours.

The way I see it, Haruna has had two years before even joining the school to get a handle on her powers. So the only time she might involuntarily replicate another mutant's power is when she is emotionally distressed.

She's going to need to triple her training for not just her powers but the powers of every other student on campus. She could be sitting in a classroom at the end of the day and borrow the telepath's power who sat in the same room before lunch to read the mind of the smartest kid in class at that moment. Situationally she is the goddess of the school.

Just because she can replicate any mutant's power does not mean Haruna will have total control over the replicated power. The less familiar she is with an ability the less control she'll have over it. Also, the more powerful the mutant she replicates from the less control she'll have.

Using your example above, the first time she replicates the power of telepathy she will most likely be overwhelmed by the thoughts of everyone around her which could result in her passing out from the pain and/or possibly sending out a psychic backlash effecting every person around her.

The more time Haruna spends studying on a power and/or the more familiar she is with a power then the more control she'll have over the replicated ability.

Situationally she is the goddess of the school.

That's a long ways away.

Passive powers such as enhanced strength would probably just kick in, but active powers would seem to be harder to manage.

Also on another note best not to annoy Haruna to much by the sounds of it, you wont know what she'll come at you with at the time, although kinda feel sorry for her at the same time XD

In the case of Casper's, or any mutant's ability that needed to be activated, Haruna would not know immediately how to activate or what the exact trigger was. If she spends time with Casper and sees/learns how he activates his power then she would know she has to touch an object before duplicating it. This does not mean she'll be able to turn it off the first time she replicates his power...

In case of enhanced or even super strength, depending on the mutant from whom she is replicating the ability, sure, it may automatically kick in. She'll definitely have to adjust to her new found strength or a lot of things are gonna get broken.

If she were to replicate Angel's (Warren Worthington III) power of flight, Haruna would actually sprout wings from her back which I'm sure would be quite painful and a bit traumatic.

If she were to replicate Cyclop's optic beam ability not only would she have issue with trying to control the power and range of her optic blast, but she would also have to keep her eyes closed unless she was given some ruby quartz lenses or risk injuring/killing others because the power would always be active.

On top of her own current power limits Haruna also picks up all the weaknesses, limitations and side effects that come along with the power she replicates. Unless she is presently in the room with the mutant of which she wishes to copy from or has knowledge of who exactly was in the area before her, Haruna has no way of knowing what the limits/side effects of the replicated power will be until she replicates it. At the start of the game Haruna only has the ability detect mutant powers, not individual or specific mutants.

EDIT: I will edit my CS to include these limitations to my character's ability.

Shard actually made her headers. I simply stole copy and pasted a logo I found using Google.

So obviously it makes sense to let everyone post before moving on because they wouldn't continue until the whole team has gathered. Who all still needs to post?

We're waiting for 3 people. We can still mingle, though. I highly encourage mingling while waiting for others. Some role players are slow, and people like me lose their passion for an RP quickly because of it. That's why character mingling and development in between posts are a must for me.

@Divine Darkness You have clearly thought this all through quite thoroughly. sideline suggestion for her to take up psychology to understand the mentality of those she copies and she could start profiles on the 100 students at the school so as she develops she could have a rolodex of the how and why of her powers to pick from.

Should I go ahead and do a filler post in the meantime or just wait?
