But wouldn't a brittle edge really blow? It would chip a lot when hitting anything on any angle that's not dead on. Plus, repairing a carbide doesn't quite seem that nice. A soft blade would probably be pretty sucky, too.

You just don't go off cutting steel plates with a sword. Titanium would definitely not break or chip, but it would bend like Play-Doh. Tungsten carbide is difficult to repair, yeah, but I had to step up the metalwork a notch if I were to survive against demigods, explosive punches and music.

Villain? Actually, kind of neutral but is causing lots of trouble and terror.

History:
Yugen, the world where dreams are from. In this world there are many realms, which are frequented by citizens of the real world. Rukemedes was in charge of one of these realms. Being a creator, he always wanted to make new things. Creating things from nothingness was possible in Yugen, however, the mind had to be imaginative and details were required. Pseudo-items could be created without details or depth, but, these could not actually do anything.

One day, Rukemedes imagined going to the real world. Living in the real world and seeing the ways and innovations of the real world. In the end, he was able to imagine a machine to take him there, however, it was only able to be used once. Rukemedes did not mind this as he traveled into the real world, still connected to the dream world. Seeing the world, he was fascinated, and looked into all of the technology available. Learning to read and write the languages in the world.

Rukemedes was happy to be in the real world. On the other hand, he was lonely. The other residents could not make their way into the real world. He was unsure as to why they could not come into the real world at all. Due to his loneliness he has invaded the dreams of others, creating nightmares and fearful dreams, as he interacted with the other Yugen residents in those dreams.

Personality
Rukemedes is actually playful but gets lonely. He wants to be able to bring in other Yugen residents, some of which are good and others which are evil. Rukemedes is friendly with both kinds. Due to his playfulness though, he causes lots of trouble and lots of fear to most humans. He loves the idea of creating and experimenting. Changing something that already exists into something new. In this, he has created or transformed humans in their dreams and caused suffering.

With that said, he is not someone evil, he is actually a nice guy. Innovative and thoughtful. It is just that his imagination and creativity make him seem like a bad guy or evil sometimes. It is not inappropriate to think of his actions as mischievous. He has damaged many places and caused a lot of trouble, without bad intentions.

Powers:
Nightmare realm - This is the one of two powers Rukemedes can use in reality. With this, he can bring those in the surrounding area into the dream world. More specifically the realm he is in charge of. In this realm, he is able to access his main fighting ability. The area brought into the Nightmare realm can be physically affected.

Dream control - Rukemedes can affect the dreams of everyone within a certain radius. With this, he can affect the subconscious mind of those around him. He does not gain control of the people, however, they are generally affected by these dreams. If Rukemedes were to get severely wounded, he could hide away in the mind of anyone near by, recovering in their dreams.

Lucidity - The main offensive power of Rukemedes. In the dream world, Rukemedes was a creator, he had a vivid imagination for a resident of the dream world, and hence, he created many wondrous things inside the realm. With this ability, he can virtually create anything. However, this can only be used in the dream world, hence, he requires to pull victims into the dream world with Nightmare realm. All of these creations stem from his mind.

In essence, his abilities are related to the dream world which is connected to the real world.

Weapons:
Rukemedes has a vast arsenal of weapons at his disposal, as he creates them when he needs to. His favorite weapon, which he creates the most, is the blade cannon. A two handed gun that fires a spinning blade at high velocity, cutting through anything that is in it's path. Due to his ability Lucidity, he is able to reload the blade cannon fairly quickly.

Fighting Style:
Rukemedes is deceitful and does not usually result to direct confrontations. Instead, he creates mazes, puzzles and traps. Wearing down foes mentally. When it comes down to direct conflict, Rukemedes will use hit and run tactics, creating something to test out how an enemy reacts. If someone nearby is suffering from a nightmare from another dream resident, he can call upon them for help in combat. Depending on Rukemedes mood, he is willing to submit if his enemy successfully clears all the mazes and puzzles he sets out.

Signature Moves:
Invitation
As mentioned, Rukemedes can invite other dream residents into his own dream realm. By creating a letter, in the shape of a paper plane, Rukemedes can throw the plane, where it flies through a set of doors. If the resident accepts, they can open the door and enter into his realm. A bright light appears from the doors as they enter.

Labyrinth
Rukemedes loves to create the maze, that he now makes a performance out of it. Depending on what he does, changes the style of the labyrinth. Dancing, cheering, orchestrating, playing an instrument. There are many ways in which he brings out the labyrinth.

Live-in nightmare
Escaping into someone's mind, he lives in their mind, recovering and affecting their dreams. He does not have the ability to utilize his abilities in those dreams, however, he also cannot be killed, but may be harmed. So at most, he talks to the dreamer, plays pranks on them or just hides.

Skills:
Rukemedes is great at stealth and staying hidden, it is what keeps him safe in the day. He also is great with PCs, especially in programming and development.

Weaknesses:
During the day, he has no abilities whatsoever, unless someone is sleeping very close to him or he is escaping into someone's mind. At this time, he is very vulnerable. As the sun rises at dawn, his Nightmare realm dissipates. Rukemedes also is not very good close quarters combat. He can hold his own, but he is not likely to win unless he gets space. Complex items are difficult to create with Lucidity, and can leave him vulnerable, excluding those he creates often.
