Hunter knew he had to fire guns up here sometimes, he normally didn't worry about it too much as long as he never fired more then one shot. One shot alerted those things you were near, two shots they could pick out your direction. Hunter set down the shotgun and grabbed the .22 rifle. It would still make a noise, and if a walker or two was around they may come for the sound. But it was quiet enough he shouldn't cause too much of a problem.

Hunter took aim with the rifle, though when he got his sights on one of the Coyotes he stopped. He held the rifle in his hands and was unable to fire it. It wasn't until the animal was almost on top of him Which if he was holding the shotgun he would have been fine. The small bullet went right into the coyote's chest, but it still had enough momentum to land right on top of him and start attacking him. Did the animal even know it had been shot? Did Hunter actually hit it?

Hunter eventually propped the rifle between him and the coyote and raised ti enough to fire into the animal several more times, eventually falling dead. Hunter stood up over the dead animal and fired the rest of the rifle into the coyote. Even attempting to fire into it after the rifle was empty. Once he snapped back to his senses he realized they were not backing off at all. They were not scared... Were they rabid? What if they were?!

Hunter ran over to one of the plastic containers within the camp and pulled out the box of .22 long bullets. The rifle held six shots but he only had the one clip. One loaded he attempted to take aim again. Though he was shaking, these were not walking corpses like before, these are living things. He knew he had to do something, sitting out like this they were dead. "The Truck! Get to the truck!" He figured at least in the back of the truck they would have some kind of advantage. Hunter himself grabbed the pumpaction and ran back with the .22 in one hand and the 12 gauge in the other.

Krystyn grabs Justines arm and rushes her towards the truck with a look of pure determination on her face but she felt herself wheezing.

Damn it Krystyn thinks as she pushes Justine ahead," Buddy Protect Justine," She lets out a wheeze," Justine run!" Krystyn said as she began to run slower pushing away Coyote's as she does. Her world going a bit Hazy. She started to stumble a bit feeling a head ache and burn in her lungs. The one thing that was necessary for surviving the apocalypse and that was cardio the one thing she is not good at!

Buddy lets out a whimper skidding to a halt Buddy ran towards his master fighting off a coyote before pushing her with his body towards the truck. Letting out loud very unusual barks that seemed to scare most of the coyotes. The more dominate ones stayed trying to fight him.

Justine ran full throttle towards Hunter's truck and cleared the tailgate with ease. She had always been able to jump high. She called out to the others to follow her. She thought that if they were safe in the truck at least they would have an upper hand and a better range of sight to defend from.
Hunter was attempting to use his .22 to take out some of the coyotes and that was not working so well for him. He should have grabbed the shotgun. . . Justine thought. Buddy's barks were strange and based at a pitch she had never heard from a dog before. He must be using it to try and scare them away.

Hunter took aim with the pump action in his hands. One at a time firing the twelve gauge slugs, one at a time each hitting its target. He only had three shots left in the gun, but between him and everyone else that seemed to be enough. "Keep an eye out." Hunter said when things seemed calm.

Hunter climbed out of the truck with the shotgun in his hands. Most the shells were by the table or in the camper still, but a handful were still in the cabin of the truck. He opened the passenger door and grabbed the paper bag with the loose shotgun shells in it. One by one he loaded them in until the shotgun was fully loaded with all 5 shells. "I am going to head back to the table area and see if it is clear now, keep me covered until I give the all clear." Hunter tried to move up all tactical like, but the closest thing he had to combat experience was going to his local airsoft arena. Sure nothing would shoot back at him, but now if he screwed up he was dead.

Buddy took on the larger Coyotes leaving Krystyn enough time to run towards the Truck. After taking down the largest one Buddy let out another viscous growl at the remaining three before bolting towards the truck.
Krystyn was worse for wear but alive. She hoped into the back and lays down trying to get her breathing back. Wheezing was all the girl heard and soft coughs came from her mouth. Krystyn tried to tell Justine something pointing at her bow mouthing "Take it' so that Buddy wasn't on his own out there without back up.

Justine quickly reached into her backpack that was still in the truck and pulled out a bottle of water for Krystyn so she could her her breath and moisture back in her mouth and lungs. After she had given Krystyn a couple drinks on her own, she left the bottle with her and carefully jumped out of the truck and crept over to the bow, trying not to be noticed. She whispered in Hunter's direction hoping he would hear her, "I have the bow. I've got your back." She crouched low with an arrow already strung ready to shoot at something that threatened any of them. She softly called Buddy back to her and he padded forward, hair still raised all over his body. He stood in front of her kind of blocking her view so she pushed on his back to get him to sit down. She really hoped these animals were gone.

Hunter did a quick run through of the camp, the dead coyotes still around, and the rest were long gone now. He felt better for a moment, then he realized he was holding the shotgun in his hands, and he just spent a lot of ammunition in a short period of time. "Dammit..." He knew that there was not that many infected out here, but sometimes they wonder. If any were close when the shots went off they would be on their way now. He then looked at the tree line, the sun was almost set now, the lighting was terrible now. Then he though about how lucky they were. If the Coyotes came twenty minutes later they would all still be at the fire with the guns at the table. But they would be int he dark, where they could be attacked at the last minute. They would have been forced to fight in the tall grasses around the fire, the only light out here. They would have all been killed in the process.

"We need to get inside now, if any infected were around they will come and follow the shots. I am not expecting a lot if any... But it's better safe then sorry." He walked his way back to the truck and grabbed the .22 rifle."We don't have a lot of time before it will be too dark to see at all." He looked at Justine and Krystyn. "We will wait out until morning, if any infected did come and are left we can deal with them once we can see them properly."

This didn't seem like too bad of an idea to Justine. It wouldn't be a very smart idea for them to just stay out in the dark like sitting ducks and wait for the infected to swarm them. She looked around for Krystyn to see if she had gotten enough of her strength back to climb out of the back of the truck. She couldn't see very well because it was getting dark and she didn't have her glasses on; they were still in her backpack.
She asked Hunter, "How much ammo do you have left? Are we going to need to go back to the gun store to get more? She hoped they could go back there safely and without being noticed by too many walkers. Hopefully, all their shots hadn't attracted a horde.
She stumbled in the growing dark towards the truck where her backpack was and managed to grab it by one strap and throw it over her shoulder. She walked slowly towards the trailer and Buddy followed behind her. Justine could hear his tired breath behind her. She reached down and patted his head lovingly. He had done more than any of them in their defense and she felt like he deserved a reward for his bravery. "You're such a good boy. Krystyn is lucky to have you. You were so brave." Praise was the most she could do for the lovely dog right now.
She realized that she was the only one that didn't have a weapon of her own. If they did end up going back to the weapons store, she needed to snag herself a weapon that was just hers. She doubted she would be able to survive just using other people's weapons that were just conveniently there. Preferably something NOT involving ammunition or loud banging noises. Both for her own personal safetly and well-being but also for stealth reasons.

Krystyn drinkers enough water and had finally gotten her breath back. she climbed out of the truck holding onto it to keep herself steady. She never felt so useless in her life. Krystyn looked around at the others not being able to speak in fear that she would start crying.
Buddy lets out a low bark before limping towards his master who looked at the others and being able to speak with out sobbing she spoke,"we need ta move if there are gonna be out I won't have the strength ta fight and neither would buddy."

Hunter looked at the shotgun in his hands once Justine asked him about the ammo. "Hard to say, ammunition has always been complicated. Out of what I had this morning there are 4 twelve gauge slugs, all of which will only fit in the single barrel shotgun, maybe 8 pheasant shot, which function a lot like turkey loads. And roughly 27 training loads which I shouldn't have to explain why those don't really count for the ammunition. And I have no idea on the .22, maybe 15 rounds?" He grabbed the rifle as he walked into the camper. "Maybe less, I'll know once I count it up." He set the shotguns and the rifle down to the side inside the camper, a lot of shots were fired so infected may come, though there wasn't a lot of room inside the small trailer.

Hunter looked at Krystyn as she spoke. She was right, he wasn't sure about Justine but he didn't have another fight in him. He wasn't that strong, he wasn't really good with endurance, what he was good at doing was pushing himself until he couldn't do anything. "We shouldn't worry too much, the infected rarely get out here, with that never in numbers larger then one or two. And if we're lucky the traps will buy us time." He attempted a smile, which was hard because he was more or less lying about the traps stopping the infected. The traps consisted of one bear trap, a few strands of wire, a poorly dug trench about 2 feet deep and about 10 feet long, and a few noise traps. Mostly made out of cans and bottles. "We'll be fine until morning, once that point comes we can go back to town, find your friend, and restock on ammunition."

Justine sat down and put her head in her hands and breathed slowly trying to calm down. If she didn't want to have an anxiety attack, she needed to breath steadily. In situations like this, she was normally pretty level headed but this was obviously unlike anything she had ever experienced before.
She was suddenly starting to lose hope in finding Lexi. She had not heard from her, of seen any traces of her. Not to mention, she had no idea where to even start looking. Her house would surely be the first step but she doubted Lexi would be that stupid to stay in her house and not go find supplies or anything that was a productive activity. She wasn't the brightest, but she was at least THAT smart.
"Is there any sort of heating method in this trailer? I have an iron deficiency so I get cold very fast and have trouble getting warm again. Will we have to huddle together to sleep?" She didn't have a problem with close quarters. If anything, physical touch from anyone would calm her down immediately. She really missed Lexi's hugs.

Krystyn made her way to the camper muttering something about going to sleep along with Buddy as she climbed in she made her way towards the beds and lays down Buddy hopping up next to her and laying on her side. Krystyn cracks her eye open and looks at Justine before scooting over,"C'mon ya can huddle wit' us jus' don' expect me ta cuddle," Krystyn said.
Buddy lets out a low noise shifting a bit so that his injured leg so that it was out and not scrunched up and uncomfortable.

Hunter started going through the trailer. He had more then enough things for one person to survive out here, but three was a lot for what supplies and items he had on him. "Got a few blankets? And a few pillows. Other then that the trailer has no heating. Had propane heat for a while but not sure if that works, and if it did we don't have propane either." He spoke to Justine as he kept looking for something to help keep warm with. "I mean if you really wanted to I could lite a fire in the sink and open all the windows. Considered trying that a few nights ago when it got really cold." He did try it, all he did was make a mess of everything. Also nothing really burned at that.

Hunter looked at Krystyn as she crawled into the bed. Then back to Justine. "Hey guys look, I don't really sleep much at night as it is. You guys get some rest with what is available and I will keep watch from the truck. If there is a problem I'll honk the horn or something, maybe flash the lights." Hunter was always a kind of awkward person, he liked having his own space, and he normally was not comfortable touching people. Huddling for warmth was also something that fell into that category.

He grabbed one of the spare sheets and threw it over his shoulder with the pump action in his hand. "Lock the door behind me, I have a key so don't worry about me getting locked out or anything. Do not open the door for anyone, no matter what." He glanced at the break action shotgun on the small kitchen counter. "The other shotgun is on the counter if you need it, hopefully you don't. Any questions before I head to the truck?"

"Sounds good to me." Justine glanced over at Krystyn, who looked more exhausted than she had ever seen anyone in her life. "If you get tired, wake me up and I'll take watch for a while so you can get some sleep. I'm a night owl most of the time anyway." She picked up the shotgun to make sure the safety was on just in case it fell off the counter or something. There would be no accidents on her watch.
She doubted she would sleep much but anything was better than nothing at this moment. She hadn't slept in over 48 hours and she suddenly felt her anxiety and fatigue overwhelm her. She climbed into the bed next to Krystyn and tried to shut her eyes. The sound of Buddy's breathing helped her relax.

Krystyn was out like a light and was snoring softly using her arm as a pillow her head turned to the door. Buddy lets out a huff and shifts a bit getting comfy so that his people could be comfortable. His ears pricked at the sound of howling the noise must've woken Krystyn up because next thing the pup felt was a hand on his head.

"Rest Bud, we've done enough. yer still a puppy there's only so much ya can do," She whispers calming the pup down. Buddy lets out a low noise,"Don' worry it won' be long 'till we're back out there kickin' ass but fer now rest," She says before her closed her eyes and fell asleep again Buddy whimpers worried about his master and her friends he lays his head on his front paws and watched the door. He will stop anyone from hurting his family. That was a dead set promise

Hunter sat in the passenger seat of his pickup truck, even with the sheet over his shoulders he was cold. He wanted so badly to put the heater on to warm up, but that would mean he would have to turn the truck on, let the engine run in the quiet field, use what gas he had left inside of his only transportation back to town. If he was much closer he would walk it, maybe even bike it. But it was almost 30 minutes just to drive! Walking... He would be lucky to make that distance before worrying about nightfall. He knew where to find guns, he knew how to find food, he knew how to filter water, but gasoline? All of those pumps are electric, the only fuel he had he had to take from cars on the side of the road. The roads that were outside of town that was. It was too risky to try and get it from cars in town.

But other then the cold, he was comfortable. The moonlight light the small clearing decent enough he could see anything that wondered into the camp, he had his pump action in his hands, so if need be he could jump out and deal with any problems that raised, and there was still a hatchet by the wood pile if the situation could be handled with that. What he also had to make him feel nice was the fact that the worn seat inside the truck was nice and soft, with just him and the shotgun inside of the cabin there was enough room to feel... nice.

He sat for what seemed like forever, sometimes getting out of the truck to walk around just in case. Then going back in the cabin of the truck. It was when he leaned his head down that his hands pulled back the pump on the shotgun and he realized that he boom stick he was planning on using if things went wrong only had two hots in it. He opened the glove box for the spare shells. The box only had a few shells inside of it, most were in the silver case inside the camper still. Most were also training loads, useless other then... well training. But opening the glove box he found something he would have rather not have seen.

Hunter instead of grabbing the about empty box of shells grabbed a cheaply printed picture of a girl he once knew. He held the picture for a while before breaking down in tears. He wanted so badly to finish what he had started all that time ago, to go save his best friend. He was forced to stop back then though, he told himself it was just until he had more fuel to travel a distance, more ammo to fight off the dead in case things went bad. But even when things were a lot better, even when he had the fuel to travel again, the ammo to fight off an army, he didn't leave. He stayed in his camp where he felt safe, where he felt invincible, where he felt he could do what ever he wanted. It wasn't until he found the picture that he had realized what his procrastinating had done, what he had chosen to do. He sat in the passenger seat the rest of the night, eventually crying himself to sleep. Waking up as the sun started shining through the windshield of his truck. Where he then proceeded to act like nothing had happened, putting the picture back into the glove box of the truck, loading the two shells from the box into the gun in his hand.
