The entire point is to kill of the "supposed only reason". Player agency should be to build the crew around their shared miss fortune.

@Thundercrash Anti-climatic starts are usually a red herring for false security. I have no idea what Dervs & Hellis have planned but I can imagine plot is going to hit us like a bus.

True, but some PCs might have trouble doing that. For example, while Vellios doesn't give a damn either way as he's leashed to Serena... the human might not want to stick around. Hence, where she goes.. so does Vellios.

Anyway, I'm hoping with my idea, namely the Batarian smuggler, that might at least give our PCs some form of continual work and reason for being together for the time being. That, with some luck, should help solve a few issues and give us something to toy around with until Dervish and Hellis smacks us fully steam with the plot!

Also, Serena's droid wasn't that big of an explosion. She's not packing her droids with C4 for suicide drones (Yet...) And unless the ship has a far shoddier hull than anyone thought, it shouldn't be shaking the entire ship...or heard by the entire crew. :p

B-B-BUT...It's more fun that way and even an explosion can be heard everywhere. :p At least!

One that DID hear it was Drono. Becouse being in the inners, the vibrations travelling trough metal is heard that much more x.x

It was a pretty fantastic moment though a good beat to hit. On the same note the shit ship isn't that big so Tanya's music isn't loud enough to be heard up at the bridge but an explosion, albeit, smothered behind a shield would def be a thing. Sound could especially travel in an open space like the hanger.

Everyone is gettin' warmed up writing wise. rubs my wee little hands

You know what's the best part

This is starting to feel like a sci fi version of One Piece

Y'know, we have a ragtag bunch of misfits in a ship, all extremely quirky, searching for something but we don't know what it is, traveling the stars.

The only difference is that our captain is dead. Otherwise this is space opera One Piece. XD

Same with Tia. She agreed to do a job, but the guy she made the contract with died before she could even get started. The most reasonable course of action for her would have been to just leave and find work elsewhere, since the job was over before it even began. Had I known this was going to happen, I would have given her a different character motivation.

Still going to see where this goes, since in-universe it's been all of an hour at the most, probably less, so nothing's really had a chance to happen yet. Just felt like putting my two-dollars in.

As for me making the explosion felt up in the bridge, I needed an excuse to drag Tia away from the console to actually talk to people.
