@TheUnknowable, @Angel Vicky, @Pacifista, what are Light, Starfire, and Static up to since getting back to camp? I kinda set the first two up with the obvious [Light checking on female survivors, Starfire seeing to Raven], but didn't wanna write situations for everybody all at once but Static is presumably with the rest of the YJ group in their own tent. We're about to have another attack hitting the base once the big guns head back into the city, something like a giant mechanical spider.

Things are a bit hectic at home, I will try to post something as soon as I can.

Great posts guys! I moved things forward a little more with the YJ convos and such, and Batman's team is getting ready at the city limits. I'm setting something up to go down in the camp outside of the city while the others are doing the search and rescue thing. It'll help me write out Static sooner and give everyone waiting for some action something to do.

Man I hope something like that happens, it would be cool to have everyone finally be all happy that they took down superman only to have him resurrected as a techno-demon-zombie.

He wouldn't be resurrected. In fact I'm not even sure he'd still be corrupted by Brainiac at that point. Basically his powers, to a certain extent, could be tapped into by whomever wields the Soul Reaver, since that's how the sword works. It absorbs/devours the soul of most people it kills (there's sure to be exceptions which is why I say "most" things instead of "all") and its wielder can then tap into some of the powers those people used to have. In this scenario, you'd have a sword theoretically capable of letting you tap into Superman's strength, durability, speed, etc. Now imagine people like Lex Luthor and a plethora of other supervillains catching wind of it and suddenly you have what could be the plot of its own Elseworlds Tale.

The situation's gonna get a lot worse for the world before it gets better. A world without a Superman will seem like an afterthought when other heroes fall and lose ground to the nanomachines.

So how much time passed while we were in camp? Can we count on the military for any support in battle?

Huh, okay.

As far as the cannon goes, we've only been fighting Brainiac for maybe 3 weeks or so. The military stepped in two days after Superman fell to Brainiac, however anything dependent on technology on the Eastern United States has all but completely been rendered useless including the big guns and bombs at the disposal of the President and military, hence why Metropolis isn't already a crater. Save for a few different brands of burner phones and anything tapping into foreign satellites, nothing works. The internet for that half of the U.S., phones, etc. has been useless and utilities have been randomly going out and teens are going mad without Facebook and digital tv. The military has been overseeing the evacuation of neighboring cities around Metropolis as well as holding the line and helping assist the League in keeping the threat contained to Metropolis. It's July the 3rd, Independence Day is a few short hours away. Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Capt. Marvel, Bluebird, St. William, and Shay [are we calling him 'Revenant' yet?] are going back into city limits in an attempt to free the survivors being held captive underneath the old location of the Daily Planet [now a cybernetic skyscraper of technology and DEATH]. Two hundred thousand survivors. Nightwing. Possibly Superboy. What was it Batman said in his journal entry at the very beginning of the RP?

"We can't possibly save them all, but how do you choose who lives and dies?"

Back at base camp, the remaining heroes and YJ crew are left to rest and heal from injuries from earlier in the day. Superbeast, Kid Flash, Starfire, Maxus-El, Dr. Light, Static, and the injured Raven are all present. However everything is going to get nuts when an unseen enemy arrives at base camp. It won't be something under the influence of Brainiac, but how will the enemy get past the military AND all of the metahumans walking around?

It's about to get Walking Dead up in here with everything that's about to go down LOL This is where the RP was moving towards from day one.

Awesome! Thanks for clarifying the setting a bit more. Sounds quite exciting!

Anybody else wanna get a post in or should I just keep moving forward? I had planned a collab post with @rocketrobie2 to get the League's inner city mission going, and back at base [villain I'm not spoiling] will take Static out of the game and a battle will ensue over things like rations, ammunition, etc the enemy is trying to steal. Also, there's still a few confirmed metahumans running around corrupted by Brainiac including but not limited to: Parasite, Toy Man, Lex Luthor, Green Lantern [John], Livewire, Metallo, and possibly others.

Just a heads up. My cat knocked my laptop off my table and something is wrong with the power cord and it won't even turn on now.
