Name: Tammy Chase
Alias: Tammy X
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Appearance: Tammy is a moderately tall, around 5’10, attractive young woman with long golden brown hair (lighter around the edges), commonly worn loose, but she’s not afraid to sport the occasional bun every now and again. She has catlike facial features and icy-blue eyes, which depending on the lighting conditions may appear a silver-grey instead.
Although blessed with good genes, Tammy tends to neglect her appearance. She often cites the beautifying process as no more than a ridiculous waste of time. A view certainly cultivated on the cold hard streets of south new London, where she was raised. Despite this however, she does have a habit of excessively shampooing, which has left the edges of her hair rather coarse and tawny.
Tammy’s choice of clothing is no different to that of a rebellious teen. Her wardrobe consists of mostly dark clothing: caps, hoodies, leather jackets, jeans, and high-end urban footwear. She has both cartilages pierced, a tattoo on her lower back that spells the word “Freedom”, and one just above of her collar bone of a globe with a dagger through it.
Abilities: Tammy possesses the ability to shape shift. She is able to take the form of any of the last four people she touches with her bare hands. She, or rather her body, achieves this by assimilating the subject’s genetic data in a format that allows her to be able to either change her entire genetic structure to match theirs or just modify particular parts of her body. Because her powers are based on touch, gloves are almost always a necessity. Touching someone with her bare hands, even unintentionally, would mean that the fourth person, in order of the people she touched last, is erased from her catalogue and replaced with the genetic data of the new subject.
Also, staying in any one particular form for long periods of time drains a lot of energy, so at the moment the longest she is able to her altered state for is about 30 minutes (her record), at which point she will be forced to revert to her original form to avoid running the risk of destroying her own body.
Another limitation to her power is that although she is able to transform into those with extraordinary abilities, she is unable to do the same for those who possess superpowers like her, based on the fact that their genetic structure is far too complex for her body to replicate.
Skills: - Persuasive: Tammy is known for having a way with words, but sometimes it involves having to put a knife to your throat and stating the names and location of every family member in your household.
- Brawler: She’s definitely not the most skilled fighter, but if anything the streets have taught her is that she is certainly capable of holding her own in a fistfight against multiple enemies.
- Knife Fighter: In conjunction to being good with her hands, she is also skilled in the handling and usage of combat knives and throwing blades. She has her own personal collection, but a lot of them are just for show and aren’t intended for use. (You might want to hold her to that.)
- Brainy: Despite common beliefs about people from Altro, Tammy has grown to be rather intelligent and surprisingly articulate thanks to her love for books.
Flaws: - Quick-Tempered & Impatient: Tammy is known for having a short fuse; you’ll make an enemy out of her if you rub her even just slightly the wrong way. She also believes that time is of the essence so waiting is another thing that pisses her off to no end.
- Smoker: One of her less flattering habits is smoking. On average she goes through about 3-5 packs of cigarettes a week, but lately she’s been thinking about cutting that down for the benefit of her health.
- Far-sighted: Assumed to be a complication from her premature birth, Tammy has been affected by far-sightedness her whole life. Objects that appear close are harder to focus on than the opposite. She wears lenses from time to time, but she finds them a bother to put in.
Background: 2174: Rena chase is diagnosed with arthritis of the hip and back. She’s forced out of employment, but receives a miracle when she is offered residence on the new Unitas housing project in Altro, South New London.
2177: Tammy is born on 28th January by caesarean. She’s 9 weeks premature and a sickly-looking; doctors say its unlikely she’ll survive.
2181: Unitas Housing project shutdowns due to a lack of funding; Site is commandeered by a notorious Altro street gang, of which Tammy later joins.
2194: 17-year-old Tammy is busted trying to deal narcotics to an undercover law enforcement officer, she’s sentenced to 2 years at a young offenders Institution. While Incarcerated she becomes acquainted with Marlo Brentford, a 19-year-old male inmate whose affiliation with political activist group “Free World” also landed him a 2 year sentence there.
2195: Marlo gets word of the capture of Free World’s leading members, John Paul and Martha Xavier. The group are rumoured to have disbanded, but Marlo enlists the help of Tammy, along with a few others, to revive it.
2196: On the eve of her release, Tammy's mother is killed in a gangland attack that left 12 dead, she was an innocent bystander. Tammy becomes distraught and increasingly withdrawn. But Marlo is there to pick her up.
2199: Free World once again enters the government’s watch list. They are classed as a medium-level threat in their grandiose pursuit to liberate New London from the rule of the UN. Tammy goes into hiding.
2200: The rumbling of the earth beneath her wakes her from sleep. She feels uneasy, sick even. She rushes into the bathroom, but catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror. It’s her, but she has the face of one of her colleagues, arms too. She's dizzy. She throws up down the sink, splashes her face with water and checks again. This time it’s gone; had she imagined it all?
