Here's my addition to the conversation on Chinese buffets: if I think the food quality at least matches the price, I'm not upset.

If I pay seven bucks for a buffet meal for myself and I get a nice, big plate of food to chow down on and it's of middling quality... You know, that's probably fitting for a seven buck meal. If I were to have paid ten or twelve dollars, I'd be upset, and I'd expect the meal to be of higher quality. Etc. But I don't go to McDonald's expecting a 5 star restaurant, and I certainly don't expect a seven dollar buffet to taste like a meal Genghis Khan would stop conquering the world for.

Out of curiosity, what would make you expect such a high quality meal?

There was a time when I was a young boy and thought that this place called "Shogun's" would surely have food of unsurpassed quality because it was Japanese food, supposedly...

I feel like Ghengis would feel less motivated to conquer the world if his experience with everyone else's food was horrible, to be honest. Why rule that shithole when they eat noodles that give you diarrhea!? Nothing good can come out of that, you'd just be placing unnecessary burden on yourself. On the other hand, if he had some really great Chinese food after months of horse steak and war rations, Khan probably would've pole vaulted over that goddamn wall and conquered every restaurant himself.
The Mongols probably didn't have to deal with the Great Wall, but it's just not as hilarious without the wall in the way.

Could be worse.

Could have been furries or wooden chair fetishists.

Though I'm not one to call any of these things cancer, wouldn't Monster girls be worse in comparison to these three? I mean, certain ones are pretty much just furries, and I'm sure there's a Tsukumogami Monster Girl for the Chair fetishists, but, whereas genuine fetishists of inanimate objects are few and far between #GrilledCheeseBacon&SwissIsMyWaifu and furries are just cartoon characters, Monster Girls are both common and sheerly sexual/pornographic in nature.

As I am both a professional Asian and pureblood Chinese (go home mudbloods, u bring dishonor on ur famariy. Shame on ur cow too.) I feel obliged to put my own opinion of Chinese buffets. And that is that too many places are Americanized >_>

There's good buffet about 20 minutes from where I live with good stuff and some pretty good cooking. A bit expensive but still pretty good if you only go there every so often. When I first went to it, it was all nummy Chinese foods. There was a sushi bar and some less-Asian foods but I still liked it a lot.

Now when I go to it, I see lines of fried chicken and fries and American-style fish (which is horrible btw, I seriously don't get how you Americans eat that shite). The owner of it said that the reason behind was the change was because, and I quote, "we wanted to cater more to black people since they come here the most."

I now realize how racist this actually sounds, I assure you I'm not trying to be racist x.x

I guess its bias, I like my monster musume more than chairs and fur suits.

I can only imagine how one could sexualize sandwiches but do I dare venture down that dark corridor?

@Fabricant451 they arent continuity reboots because they dont affect the continuity, when you set films before the original you can keep them as part of the canon without rebooting. Like Fury Road for example or Arkham Origins as a video game example.

The new Apes movies aren't set before the original. They are their own thing. Fury Road is a sequel and Arkham Origins is a prequel. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is not going to lead into the original Planet of the Apes movie because it is its own canon and its own franchise with passing references to the originals.

Something like X-Men First Class isn't a reboot. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is.

Dawn of the planet of the apes is set before the original though. Its the origin story to how the apes took earth over from man-kind. Granted its set a good long while before the original film but that was always the backstory. Rise and Dawn just detail exactly how the apes took over. Its not it's 'own thing' any more than DMC 3 is.

If your idea of fried chicken is from chinese buffets, i'd see why you hate it. But there are places out there that knock that shit out of the park. Like, i'd like to consider myself the type of people who's open minded when it comes to food, and i've tried a lot of different types of things over the years. But I have to say my favorite thing is still buffalo wings. I don't think there is anything better than a good of plate of buffalo wing.

I have something close to hate for libertarians.

Hey now, trust-fund kids need a political belief too.

@Dynamo Frokane It's its own timeline, not directly related to the originals, though. Like Rise might as well be a remake of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. DMC3 doesn't introduce an entirely timeline/series/universe. Rise does. It's the starting point of its own universe. The people that made the movie have said this back when Rise was in production. Rise already plays fast and loose and contradictory with how the apes rose in the original series. If anything it could be argued, such as now, that it contains elements of both. But it's absolutely a reboot.

Don't most people have something close to hate for at least one political ideology? As a libertarian, I can respect that.

Also, adding to the whole Chinese buffet conversation going on... I've got to say that Japanese food renders their neighbor's cuisine pretty much pointless. It's 3000000000 times better, IMO.

@Dynamo Frokane No joke, For some reasons I read that as librarians. <.< And don't worry even though I'd consider myself as one, since it technically varies vastly politically (and only really means your anti-authoritarian.) and it seems to a be the new popular thing to be on the Internets. They sort of are the new internet term for "independent" or "moderate" aren't they? I'd think to think we are the 'we give an actual shit about politics' version of those words though. :P
