As soon as all hell broke loose yet again, James sighed and just kept working. He was not going to get caught up in that whole debacle because it just wasn't worth it. He called over his shoulder as his sister ordered him to the office, "I'm good. I don't need to see that, if that's even what it is. Cause you know what Kylie, I call bullshit. There is a more likely explanation, and I know it. Even if you all are too dense to think about it." he said, half talking to Kylie, half talking to Sophi and Riley. He made his way over to where Wes, Jerry, Kylie and Jenny were standing and sitting, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Look. Clearly I don't have the whole story myself, but now that I have a good look, I can tell the three of you that this is definitely my sister, Kylie. Meal is on house today, you all. Kylie, when you get home, I'd like to see your tax form, receipts from last year, checks, everything you might have still. You might have missed something and I might be able to save you some money. I don't know. " He told them before turning to her.

James started walking back to the tables he was cleaning off, when he glanced over his shoulder and said to Kylie, "Whatever you are doing, stay safe. I don't think any of us can handle another funeral." He finished drying the table he was working on before heading over to talk to the four of them, and walked out to the back door, and popped it open, waving to Mark, who was out there finishing up a cigarette. "We need back in real quick. Can you handle Wes' table? His bill is on the house. And definitely don't flirt with the blondes out there." He told the waiter who simply nodded and quickly extinguished the cigarette before grabbing the back door. As the two walked out to the floor, a brunette walked in and smiled at them. She seems well kept and very energetic.

"Hi, I'm Melissa, and I was wondering if you are still looking for waitresses? Who do I talk to about that?" She asks, proving their initial assessment correct. "I'll get you an application, and when you're done, hand it to me. I'll take a look at it and we'll go from there." James tells the girl, not wanting to promise anything, but her energy is amusing, and James can't help but smile. He turned around and walked behind the main counter and found the folder which had a few paper applications left. He pulled out one and returned to where Melissa was standing, and held it out for her. She took it and smiled before walking to an empty table and pulling a pen from her purse. James walked to the host stand, while Mark walked over Wes' table to take over for Sophi. James felt his phone go off in his pocket at this time and quickly responded to Nathan asking if he was available on Saturday, 'At this point, it looks like I might be, but I'll get back to you later with something more concrete'

Kylie's world collapsed in a single moment. Sophia and Riley walked away with a flash drive that contained all of her secrets, and James sat there and reprimanded her like everything was fucking okay. NOTHING WAS OKAY. Wes and Jenny just sat there and stared with no intention to step in. And to wrap this all up into a neat clusterfuck, Jerry hovered nearby, expecting answers from her. What the fuck was she supposed to say? The truth?

No...

No...

No...

No...

Her head spun through a million scenarios at once, the look of a grieving widow strewn across her face. None of the outcomes resulted in any of this going away. Jerry couldn't help. Nobody could... Kylie was alone in this battle.

All...
Alone.

She WISHED she was a prostitute right now. There was more dignity in that than loving your brother too much. Her cruel, deceitful brother... How could Riley have done this to her?! He went through her computer?! HE... betrayed her trust... The one person she would do anything for, the one person that made life worth any single scrap of breath raped her and left her to waste away. She was so fucking stupid to believe in him, to fantasize about him as a lover, as a husband, as her soul mate. But... That's all she ever was:

Dumb.
Dumb.

Dumb.

Kylie was a laughing stock, and she knew it. It was so crystal clear that she was the failure of the Reese family, so inept at life that her brothers couldn't even fathom the possibility of her being a prostitute. That's what Riley had gone to do, right? To disprove everything she had just said so they could come back and laugh in her face? They would find worse than that though... Pictures. Of him. Of Sophia. Her hard work had been so meticulous too... Long nights waiting for them to fall asleep while she slept next to them or barging into the bathroom at the most convenient time. Those had been the easiest pictures to get anyway. Then there was the artwork and the letters to her future husband: the husband that would never be.

"How could you do this to me...?" she whispered to herself, azure eyes wide in distress. Reluctantly, her feet shuffled slowly over to the cop, hanging her head in disgrace. "There's just contact numbers and dirty pictures of me and my..." Kylie's breathy voice began to explain before she spotted the pistol at Jerry's side.

What do I have to lose?

The woman knew she'd face charges for it, or hell, maybe he'd even pull it on her and she'd die right here, right now. But did it really matter? Her family was about to learn everything, so what difference did it make if she were alive or dead? She didn't want to face them after they knew, so it was to a jail cell or a grave she went. With a heavy heart and a death wish, her hand snapped out to grab the gun, doubting she'd even be able to pull it out of his holster.

Jerry

@Viciousmarrow@Saint Girralo@The Muse@lovely complex

Kylie’s eyes held desperation as she walked towards him mumbling about what was on the drive. It was clear that she didn’t want her brother and sister to see it and frankly it was probably best regardless of what was on the drive for neither of them to see it. Jerry narrowed his eyes as Kylie approached him. The girl was in shock or denial or something; regardless it looked bad.

The girl's hand suddenly darted out towards the gun on his hip. Kylie’s tiny hand easily got ahold of the gun as Jerry just looked at her trying to determine what exactly she intended to do if she managed to get the gun out of its holster. For a series of long moments time seemed to slow for Jerry as he felt her tug at the gun. There was no way it was coming out of the holster; he’d once had a drug addict on PCP try and get it out of the holster. The man had failed miserably since it required a sequence of depressions on the outside of the holster in order to release the gun from the holster. One pathway diverged from another in his mind.

The hand plucked the curved hook from its sheath alongside his gun. Hooked in the crook of his right finger it swished through the air as though to slap her but it came across her throat. Opening the smooth white neck with a heavy red line as the artery was opened to the air. Red blood spattered from it as he released the gun from its holster so as she fell back dying the gun came from the holster incriminating her. With a kick he knocked the gun away from her and replaced the hooked talon in its sheath beside the gun. Bending he retrieved the gun and help it on her bleeding dying form. Making sure that she would not rise again.

It had been a clean death. The poor girl had brought it upon herself really; a pity that was for sure. The poor family had seen so many losses of late and it was unfortunate really. As the last beats of her heart forced the red life blood out onto the floor Jerry crouched down and casually brushed her eyes closed. “requiescat in pace”

The hand tugged at the pistol and Jerry calmly put his hand on top of her’s before gripping her wrist and wrenching it over in a nasty wrist lock. With practiced ease he freed his handcuffs and snapped them around her wrist before switching his hand to her other hand before snapping it into the other side of the handcuff. With a deft sweep of his left leg Jerry took Kylie to the ground face first before placing his knee in the middle of her back to keep her there. “That was a terrible plan young lady.”

The hand tugged at his gun and he gently put his hand ontop of hers. ”Stop that. It won’t fix anything.” With a calm move he turned her to face the office. Putting his arm around her shoulder he calmly led the crumbling wreck of a girl towards the office. With a quick knock he pushed the door open. ”Okay, fun is over. Your sister is coming with me and so is the flash drive. If it has evidence of prostitution on it then it is going to be booked like any other evidence. If you open it, then I’ll book you for tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice.” Jerry sighed heavily and leaned against the doorway. ”See this is the kind of thing I was talking about. I don’t know if your family was like this before I met you or if this is just a reaction to living next to a cop. Either way I’ve lived here just a few days and it's already getting on my nerves.”
Jerry held out his hand for the flash drive. ”I’m going to go book this, possibly book your sister. I dunno yet. It really depends on how I feel to be quite honest. Then. I’m going to come back and have lunch.” Looking down at his phone Jerry sighed. No such luck. No reason to just walk away from this shit since Nana hadn’t responded. Oh well.

Some god out there must have taken pity on Claire for the moment she uttered her age, Wesley had thrown her out of the limo near the academy. As he drove off, she stood awkwardly on the sidewalk and blinked. Had that really happened? Those tortuous ten minutes seemed like a blur now, almost like it hadn’t even been her in the car. She was truly ignorant for even stepping into the man’s car but fear had won over reason. Perhaps next time she wouldn’t be quite so foolish. The town was still safe, despite the little stunt that had just occurred, and she was almost sure sometime like this wouldn’t happen again. Claire just needed to make sure she didn’t go to that coffee shop anytime soon.

Too caught up in her thoughts, Claire hadn’t realized she been gawking for a few minutes until a woman came up to her asking if she was alright. The richest and probably most dangerous man in town had just threatened and technically kidnapped her, she was already late for class, and she had a doctor’s appointment today Of course, Claire threw away all of her inner troubles and flashed the woman a smile. She was fine, she would be okay. “I’m doing great, thank you. And you?”

The woman went on to introduce herself as Nana Darling, apparently someone who knew Wesley fairly well. She apologized if he had startled her and even offered her help should he ever attempt anything again. It was a bit odd taking a stranger’s number but Claire took it anyway, gratefully. You never know.. While she had never met Nana in her life, Claire felt oddly secure around the woman. From the few words she had said, Claire could tell she was honest and caring, two traits the world needed more.

She went on to show Claire her son and she couldn’t but giggle at how adorable he was. “He’s soo cute! You must be really proud.” She smiled. Perhaps today wouldn’t be so bad after all. “As for a ride, I would be incredibly grateful if it’s not too much trouble. My car’s still at the coffee shop and it’s a rather far distance to walk.”

After the nice woman took her back to the dreadful coffee shop, she sat in her car for a few minutes and debated what she wanted to do next. Going against her schedule was something she rarely did but right now, she absolutely did not want to listen to a lecture. Try as she might, there was no way out of the doctor’s but she had a few hours to kill before it started.

@lovely complex

12:30
Sipping a strawberry smoothie, Claire sat within the warm sun of Cherry Blossom Park at one of the park benches. Memories of the doctor’s appointment filled her mind as she wiped away another small tear. Perhaps it was finally time to say goodbye to Riley. Their time together had been short and sweet but she felt as if she had truly fallen in love. It was incredibly selfish of Claire to be with him though, especially now. She couldn’t do that to him…

Claire pulled out her bucket list and sifted through the long goals she had made when she was around ten years old. It was pink and glittery, slowly fading from the many years of folding it up and taking it around. Most of the items had been checked off, only three more remained. Fall in love Although she supposed it was time to check that one off. Ride a Horse. Somehow she had yet to fulfill this silly dream when she was younger but perhaps her parents could arrange it soon. Maybe Riley could even go with her… And lastly, the most embarrassing one of all. Marry a Prince.. If only she go back in time to tell her 10 year old self not to write such an unrealistic goal. Claire chuckled softly. She never thought she would actually check off the majority of her so not fulfilling one was okay.

A slight breeze brushed against her wet face, blowing away at her hair. Despite the plans she had made for the night, Claire didn’t feel much like doing anything that night. She slowly pulled out her phone and sent an email to the Red Cross explaining she didn’t feel well and couldn’t volunteer. Only in the case of emergencies had Claire ever canceled on events, usually giving them a 24 hour notice. Guilt tore at her stomach but the only thing she wanted to do was curl up in her bed, eat a tub of ice cream, and watch Glee. While she was on her phone, Claire took a deep breath and sent Riley a text.

Hey Riley :) I don’t think we can go shopping tonight. Don’t feel the best. Hope you have a good day. Love, Claire <3

And with that, Claire finished her smoothie and made her way home where she hoped to stay locked in bed for awhile.

Riley & Sophia with a pinch of Kylie

Interacting with @Themerlinhawk

”...I’m so sorry… I need… help.” Kylie’s shaky voice echoed out when she saw it was too late for Jerry to do anything. She had failed in her attempt to be done with herself, to avoid the moment she was now stuck in. It was so hard, seeing the damage that had clearly already been done. Tears began to pour from those cerulean orbs of hers.

The older sibling sat in a chair near the desk and worryingly stared at her immobile brother, whose eyes were glued to the screen. His breathing was hardly noticeable. Neither Sophia nor Riley acknowledged the police officer or Kylie. Words were said but for the male twin, it was entering a mind that was no longer mentally in the room.

---

Starting the computer up, Riley took a deep breath in and looked up at his older sister. Was this a smart idea? Invading his twin’s privacy? But if what she said was true… they needed to do this. He didn’t want to believe his sister sold her body for money. He didn’t want to believe any of his sisters got involved with something like that. Yes, the flamed-haired man understood that they had the right to do whatever they wanted with and to their body, but this was just… a bit much. There was doubt residing in him, so opening these folders shouldn't be too bad. How could they? Kylie had social anxiety! Everything she said was pure hearsay!

I’m sure she’s just lying!” He exclaimed as he put the flashdrive into the port. The window opened up revealing those folders that Riley had seen yesterday: Fire Side Chats, Soap Box Derby, and Ginger Romantica. As much as he wanted to go straight to Ginger Romantica, assuming it had her love interest in it, he decided against the thought and went for the Fire Side folder.

She better be…” Sophia muttered, hovering over Riley’s shoulder as he sat at her desk and inserted the flash drive. Just the thought of her baby sister whoring herself out to complete strangers just for a quick buck made her chest tight and her stomach twist in knots. If it was true, then just how long had this been going on? Was she having safe sex? She didn’t have a …. pimp or an STD did she? Uncomfortably, Sophia folded her arms and bit on her lower lip as she watched Riley move the mouse cursor to the files that opened up in the flash drive.

After the folder opened, relief fell over the man’s face, “See Sophi! It’s only letters.” Opening one of the word documents up, he skimmed over it, noticing quite a few romantic...and naughty… words: Dear Future Husband. Hold me in a tight embrace. Make me breakfast in bed. Stare at only me as you hover on top of me. Penetrate... ALRIGHT. THAT’S ENOUGH WITH THAT. This was interesting though, that his sister was such a romantic. He didn’t know she cared so much about love. Sure, she was into playing prince and princess when they were kids but that was child’s play. The letter kind of sounded like she was in love with someone. Who could she possibly love? Unless… it was one of her clients.

Sophia nodded as she let her eyes quickly skim the word document, “Just letters…” Still, she couldn’t shake the anxious feeling consuming her body. “Who is she writing about?” She thought, skipping past quite a graphic paragraph. It wasn’t that surprising, knowing Kylie and how infatuated teenage girls could become, but now she wondered who her sister was crushing on. “She’s never said anything to me about liking anyone…” She almost felt offended, until she realized that her and Kylie hadn’t been very close since she left for college. Nearly four years ago now. Eesh.

At the very least, this folder had nothing to do with prostitution. Hm… which one next… Ginger or Soap? Soap seems the less serious of the two, so I’ll do that one. His nerves were on the edge when he brought the pointer closer to the folder… Let it be letters. Let it be letters. With that, he lightly bit his bottom lip, similar to how Sophi did earlier, and clicked the folder open. His blue orbs stared fixedly at the sight: a inside closet shot of Sophia changing, a close up shot of sleeping Sophia, Sophia’s yoga pants butt, Sophia with a towel wrapped around her, and without the towel (boobs)… They were mild at least, besides the last one, but it was strange for their sister to have these kind of pictures. Joking it off, Riley laughed, “You do have a pretty nice ass.

Sophia’s eyes grew wide as Riley clicked on the file that immediately revealed a dozen pictures of herself. “What the fuck!” She couldn’t bite her tongue. Her eyes darted back and forth between photos, some of them Sophia remembered while some of them she had never knew even existed. Of course, she had never expected her sister to keep the photos that she did know about. “What does she have these for?!” She quickly leaned forward and yanked the mouse away from Riley as he complimented her ass, causing her cheeks to heat up. “Shut up.” This was no time for jokes. Sophia clicked out of the folder and deleted the entire file. Even if it was still on Kylie’s hard drive, at least it was gone from here. “Does she sell my photos to people or something?!” She sighed and stood upright again, leaving the mouse open for Riley. “We are getting into Kylie’s computer later and deleting all of those pictures…Who knows what else she has too!” Sophia shook her head, remembering the sneaky picture Kylie had taken of her and posted on Twitter only a day earlier. “Let’s just look at the last file…

On the brightside, it can’t get any worse?” Riley knew he shouldn’t be amused by his sister’s reaction, but it was funny seeing her get all embarrassed at the pictures that displayed her nice body. Hey. He was a man and he wouldn’t deny his sisters, all of them, were hot, which is part of the reason why he was overprotective over them. BUT, he would never admit that to them. Hesitant, he grabbed ahold of the mouse once more. Love letters. Sophia’s assets. Now what? This was the folder he wanted to open since the moment he knew it existed. This could reveal the man of his twin’s dreams! The man he’d have to scare away. Yet, this was purely based on theories. The title was definitely influenced on a romance manga. He remembered stumbling upon it on the web one night. Granted, that romance manga was about two homosexual guys. Wait, Kylie can’t be gay could she? He didn’t mind if she was, however, it hurt she didn't tell him. Weren’t they close? Weren’t they twins? The man’s blue stare saddened at the thought of his other half keeping secrets from him. He supposed he was no better. After all, everyone had their secrets. Either way, time to open the folder right?

Clicking the folder in a rather slow motion, Riley stared dully at the screen. New pictures came up and his mind for a second didn’t comprehend what he was seeing. Freezing in his seat, he scrolled down the folder… there was a goldmine of pictures… of him. Since he was 13 years old?

Was that the dick pic he sent to Jenny? How- What? This folder was nothing compared to the Soap Box Derby one. His jaw dropped. Within seconds of witnessing the sight of his nude self and him doing things in and around the house, his body went catatonic.

Still. Quiet. Nothing moved. Not his face. Not his eyes. Nothing. He was no longer in the office anymore. No. He was trapped in his mind. A memory flooded over him. Something he didn’t remember was a memory he had...

Sophia’s heart dropped at the long list of photos in the file, gasping and putting a hand over her mouth. If she hadn't been so shocked she would have joked with her brother about it, but he was being just as quiet as her. Her face lit up in embarrassment, but she couldn’t take her eyes off of the pictures. With her eyes glued, she looked at each picture displayed. Some of them were similar to the photos that Sophia had, though most of them were a lot worse. At school, in the mall, sleeping, in the shower, and there were even some selfies of both Kylie and a sleeping Riley from when they would sleep together when they were younger.

I’m gonna be sick…” Sophia took a step back and shook her head. Kylie was a downright stalker and more perverted than she had ever thought she could be. Why were there so many pictures of Riley? Not only that, but most of them were of him NAKED. Did she… have an extremely unhealthy obsession with her twin? All of the over-the-top jealousy and protective attitude of her twin was suddenly making sense. It wasn’t just because they were twins, it was… Oh, god, she couldn’t think about it.

Instead she stumbled back into the empty chair off to the side of the desk, nausea overwhelming her all at once. Her uneasy stomach revolted against her and she suddenly dry heaved, immediately reaching for the small waste bin under the desk and holding it just below her face. Taking a moment to breathe deeply and assure that she could keep her breakfast down, Sophia slowly set the trash can down at her feet. Looking up, she noticed Riley still staring at the screen; frozen. “Riley, are you okay?

Dark. Where was the light? Why was I told to stay in here? Daddy is going to be mad if I don’t go to practice… A little boy with gorgeous red hair and little dimples, sat on the floor in a cramped room that held extra books and school supplies. Hugging his legs, he waited for someone to arrive. I don’t like the dark… The little boy’s ears perked when he heard heels outside, a little grin falling on his face. His expression changed from scared to excitement. Holding his breath in, he waited for the door to open, knowing exactly who was coming.

When the door opened, a mesmerizing blonde woman with a white outfit appeared, standing tall, strong, and beautiful. The lost memory kept her face and her clothes hazy and hard to distinguish...

Riley knew this was the woman he loved. He would never stop loving her.

The boy met his innocent eyes with her ocean jewels, as she knelt down to his level and gave a warm, assuring smile. She didn’t say a word. Instead, she stroked the young boy’s cheek making his face flush. After the silence had lingered for a minute or two, she cooed on with her honey sweet voice, “How’s my handsome boy doing?

Gaining his composure, he tried to respond with 'I'm fine! just a little hungry!', but instead little Riley mumbled, “I have baseball…

Her eyes never left his. They were so soft, so loving, so captivating, as if he was the most important person to her.

Sadly, disappointment appeared on her face. I made her sad... Dammit. Riley. Why did you make it seem like you didn't want to be with her? Why are you in such a rush? She's here for you. Don't be such a child!

His heart dropped at his thoughts. Would he ever be good enough for her? He didn’t mean to give her the wrong idea. I-I need to make this better. When he opened his mouth to speak, her voice began to fill the closet once more.

Before you go, I need you to do a little something for me, okay?” Her finger twirled a strand of his red hair.

The boy nodded, playing with his fingers. Thinking fast, Riley blurted out with an apologetic tone, “Anything for you!!” and brought his small hand up to touch her's. The woman snickered at his doting obedience. Standing up, she grabbed a hold of the child's hand that desperately reached for her, and pulled him up towards her.

I'd like to take your picture. This will be similar to Picture Day but they won't be for your parents, they'd be for me.
How long was it before Riley gained feeling again in his body? Pulling his stare away from the screen, his deadpan face looked at the newcomers at the door but didn’t take them in. Where was he? Why was he here? His hands were shaking. Bringing them up, he stared at them contemplating the odd occurrence. He could hardly breath. Was he hyperventilating? If he was… it wasn’t apparent. Sweat rolled down his head as he tried to take in his surroundings, he needed to get out of here. I can’t...

Jolting up abruptly, without responding to his sister, the lost boy ran passed Sophia, making sure he didn’t mess anything up in the office but moving extremely fast where it was hard to catch him. He was known for his speed, after all.

Charging towards the police officer and his twin that he didn’t notice were even there, Riley slipped passed them, his shoulder rubbing against Jerry’s and his eyes looking right through his sister’s. Not giving anyone much time to react, he escaped from the Queen’s Orchid. The further he got from the diner, the easier it was for him to breathe. He left the van behind and his family. His mind was thinking about only one place and that was... his treehouse.

Kylie sobbed into her hands, making a complete mess of her make-up. She couldn’t blame Riley for his reaction. After what he just saw… Why didn’t someone just shoot her right now? There was no reason to keep living. ”...I’m not a whore...I’m a fucked up girl who’s guilty of loving her brother too much, Jerry. That’s all that’s on that flash drive…” she heaved out in between her snivelling. ”...I just really need help.” There was no mistaking her pleading, a woman who knew she didn’t belong in a jail cell. No, she belonged in a psych ward far, far away from her family where qualified professionals could actually aid in rehabilitating her mind.

Riley! Wait-” Sophia stood up from her chair and attempted to grab her brother’s arm but it was already too late. Facing her brother and the officer, Sophia frowned as she watched her sister break into sobs. How was she supposed to feel in this moment? Disgust for her sister? Pity? All she could feel was deep sorrow from the bottom of her heart.

There’s no evidence of prostitution on there, officer. She lied...” Her eyes glazed over with tears, fists clenching. “Kylie…” Her voice cracked as she struggled to keep back her own tears, “We need to get you help… a… a psychiatrist or… or something.

@Snagglepuss89 Not paying attention to where he was going, Riley crossed the street causing a woman (Nana) to suddenly stop on her breaks, the wheels made a loud screeching noise. He didn’t notice that Elliot was walking down the sidewalk and most definitely witnessed the possible accident. The car pulled over to the side but the mother didn’t go out to chase the distressed red haired man, who was on a mission to get somewhere. Instead, she got out the car and went to her back seat to comfort her crying son.

@BlueAjah Riley couldn’t stop running. Just running. Heading toward the park, his eyes glazed over, he didn’t notice that he ran right passed his own girlfriend. His expression was that of a scared child. Entering the park, he sped through it, went to the hiking trail in the woods, and finally got to his treehouse. Incredibly out of breath, sweat running down his forehead, he leaned himself against the tree.

After a moment or two, trying his best to gain his composure, he entered his safe haven and crashed on the floor. Curling up, he closed his eyes and let the emotions pass, ultimately falling asleep.

Jerry

With a calm blink Jerry heaved a sigh of semi relief. That was certainly one less thing for him to worry about which was good but there was still the issue of her going for his gun. ”Alright then I guess we’ll just 5150 your sister. She’s going to county for a psych eval. You can come get her in a day or so. It depends if she’s a risk; this is the last warning your family gets. I don’t appreciate being used for ‘suicide by cop’ and as far as the rest of you are concerned you are really pushing the bounds of what is reasonable. Also the flash drive is still coming with me.”

The smell of oil and gunpowder clouded the air as the young cop sat on the front of his squad car. Other police officers moved around he as he sat calmly staring off into space. It was as though there wasn’t a care in his heart as the CSI techs took pictures of the scene. Looking down the young police officer finally noticed the gore splattered on his vest and uniform. It was going to stain in the long run. He already been interviewed twice by his superiors. It had been a drug deal gone sideways. At Least that's what it looked like. That had been what had happened right? That's what he’d told them so that must have been the story. The police had showed up and it had all gone sideways. Six cartel members and a junkie laid out in the street; it had been a sting hadn’t it? No just the one police officer rolling up. The young man’s eyes wandered around the bullet holes in the hood and door of the squad car. An empty rifle lay on the ground next to the car; his rifle. A ways away was the shotgun, it had run out rather quickly as well. It had all worked out well in the end. Just as planned, well. That's not what they thought. Was it?

Jerry set his card down on the table of the office. You can reach me here. Call in an hour; I’ll be waiting in my office.” With empty eyes Jerry walked the young Reese out of the Orchid.

He still hadn’t had lunch and…

Looking at his phone Jerry frowned. Nothing.

Timeskip: 3pm

Younger characters should be getting out of class now.

FYI for future reference; Sophia will still be running the diner, after refusing to shut down a second time.

Blake Mitchell

At some point between leaving to follow the kid with a vendetta against Wes Harmon and the halfway point to the Harmon residence, Blake shook her head and turned her car around. The reason she had managed to stay in operation for as long as she had was because she had a specific set of rules she lived by. Tenants, in a word, that kept her clear, clean, and free of suspicion. She didn't get in the way of the proper authorities and she didn't get involved in cases far above her paygrade. The Harmon's were known. Black Mitchell was practically a guest in town, but guests that made an ass of themselves got thrown out on their ass. She was sure that there was more to that whole nasty kidnapping business than let on...but she wasn't getting paid to find out nor was she crazy enough to pursue it.

Which was to say that Blake Mitchell did not so much as look in her rear view mirror once the kid seemed so determined to stay the course. Blake did what any reasonable adult would do: she returned to her office, kicked her feet up on her desk, and watched videos on the internet for a couple of hours. It was rather boring, all things considered, but when she wasn't getting hired and her ad for help wasn't going to be run until the next day...there was little else she could do. Being a private detective was ninety percent waiting for that one person to walk through the door.

Eventually, Blake managed to doze off, waking up only after her cell phone rang. By the clock on the lock screen it was...

"Shit...Felicia..."

Blake had to think back. Did she promise to pick Felicia up today or was she going to catch the bus? She figured it didn't really matter one way or another since Felicia wasn't the one calling her, but rather a solicitor who left a voice mail that was deleted straight away. Blake slowly rubbed her temple with her thumb before pushing away from her desk. Air. She needed air. And something to munch wouldn't hurt, a bit of pre-dinner snackage. It really hit home that all she had to eat so far was a convenience store breakfast burrito which, while delicious, was hardly filling for the full day.

So again Blake left the comfort of her office for the comforts of her car. It wouldn't hurt to swing by the school to see if Felicia needed a ride home, but as she pulled out of her office lot she did so with no real desire to do anything other than solve her stomach issues. Though considering the happenings the last time she mixed food and her car...Blake was prepared for damn near anything as she turned onto the main road.

James was thoroughly drained of patience at the sight of his sister being escorted out by the police officer after trying suicide by cop IN THE FAMILY DINER! It was taking every single ounce of energy not to call it a day right at that very moment. Though it would appear that the day was turning itself around just minutes after the intense family drama that occurred earlier that day when Melissa finished and handed in her application. When he looked it over, James couldn't deny that she would definitely be useful. Having worked as a barista, she would at least have some idea of what she was getting into by applying to the diner as a waitress. James had sat her down at a table away from the entrance as to get some privacy to do the interview since he was not in the mood to even see his older sister.

The interview had gone well and he asked if she could start today. It was incredibly fortunate that she could and he wrote down an employee number for her to clock in with. After today it would be how she had her hours registered in their system for payroll. He immediately placed her with Mark for her training, and got back to working in the kitchen, especially since their other cook decided to walk off after some sort order revelation in the office with the officer and the flash drive that Riley had. He wasn't sure what Riley or Sophia had said to the others yet, but he had to relax tonight. He had to let Jessica unwind so the stress wouldn't keep building dangerously. He went into the office for a few minutes so he could input Melissa's employee information into their system so she could clock in like the others.

James waited until the end of the school day to shoot a text over to Zoey and Olivia to tell them the situation as he understood it. 'Things have been slow all day. I don't know what exactly happened, but I know Riley ran out of the diner, don't know where he is right now. Kylie did something and she left with Officer Richman shortly after Riley left. You can come here if you want, but I'll be heading home around five. Either way I'll see you later.' Putting his phone back in his pocket, he got back to working. He was tired of everything going on today, and wanted nothing more than to relax. Jess would love to get out at some point. Maybe she'd do her nails for the night, clean them off in the morning. At that point, Melissa came to the window and handed him an order slip.
