The big aliens that have the toothy grin and are all muscular.

... Yes. Just add some scales.

@Shorticus
So exactly how would the Namilee interact with the warlike and carnivorous Mabronnans assuming they weren't eaten alive?

The Namilee have two basic methods of dealing with aliens:

1. Make friendly with them. Try to establish transmissions; try to learn about them and figure out what their situation is; try to be peaceful.

2. Avoid them. Aliens can be dangerous.

Meanwhile, I'm slowly developing my explorer into the protagonist of her own noir detective film.

Also, @Shorticus, I think our two nations should meet up. The Coalition is at a turning point - it's grown too large to just assume "reasonable" and be done with it, and isn't sure whether it should shrink, dissolve, or change its internal structure. I feel like the Namilee would shake things up sufficiently.

Obviously, the X'Cor are the 1st solution.

I'd be open to that! Though the question, I suppose, is how they shake things up exactly. They might notice something wrong about the system which is so complex it needs committees on committee oversight, I suppose... That sort of complexity (though not as extreme) hampered their ability to react to the X'cor.

I suppose that might be enough to make them either accidentally or purposefully facilitate some change while traveling through that part of the sector.

In a way? They're both.

The WISE thing to do is to avoid them, and that IS Namilee standard procedure. However, the Namilee feel as if they have some duty to help the X'cor realize what it is they're doing, how ultimately self-destructive it is, etc. If they could, they'd enter negotiations with the X'cor and try to share ideas.

But I think we all know how that'd turn out.

Anyone willing to have shared history or relations with the Glorious Akkab?

On the one hand, I like shared histories.

On the other, I've already got one hyperaggressive militaristic faction that wants the Namilee dead.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've been thinking of ideas for my explorer character. One such idea is a Mercenary who also is a War Vet who fought in the final years of the Xim War(or maybe First Contact War?).

@Monarch The Federation perhaps?

Not sure what that'd be, though.

@Monarch Same here :P Probably would have to be recent-ish, like say the last decade or a bit further. Probably not a shared history and more of the feds being vaguely aware of the Imperium.

Huh. As long as they find Oin, the explorer I put up in my character section, then the Namilee may have a chance at getting negotiations.

@Monarch Sounds good.

Perhaps a distant independent colony of a federation-aligned species is attacked by the Imperium, when the call for help is sent out, a unsteady Federation recovering from a long war immediately responds with a small task force, causing tensions as the two factions make first contact.

Kazzlehorf sharing history will be hard since Kazzlehorf is nominally isolationist outside of its low key trades for things it wants or trying to kill any Kazzlehorf who stop being Kazzlehorf anywhere in the universe (or at least, the non-Kazzlehorf Kazzlehorf knows are out there).

ISO's mats better not harbor them.

@Monarch Thinking about it, perhaps we could integrate @LloydTurquoise's Doctrinate? Could be how they possibly came into contact(unless the feds and docs rediscovered one another long ago)

I knew when you said 'independent colony' and 'federation aligned species' and I thought "... It's me isn't it"

I mean I'm open to the idea. Not before though, it'll dilute the impact of the contact!

As far as shared history goes, I'm planning on the Coalition as being made up of offshoots of random bits of people's history. Once I get around to writing all those PM's I'm sitting on, that is.
