On average?

That's a more complex question than you realize.

You see, the Xim come in over 200 different "breeds", each of which has been genetically modified in a different way to suit a different purpose. On top of that, Xim are allowed to undergo cosmetic changes to make them taller, skinnier, shorter, fatter, uglier, prettier, scarier, bluer, greener, and so on. No two Xim look exactly alike, and so there is no "average" Xim.

But, when invading humanoids, the Xim tend to send "Crushers", a breed of Xim that is over sixteen feet tall, possesses six spidery legs, and is able to lift hundreds of pounds with one hand (of which, it has four). It is highly resistant to energy and can be shot dozens of times and just keep moving. It also literally has eyes on the back of its head.

This is balanced out by the fact that Crushers are made of DNA from a dozen different species, which has massive side-effects. For one, they can't live past twelve. For two, they have muscle spasms and seizures constantly. So they normally wouldn't even make it to twelve, but instead die of a seizure or something at 8.

It is possible to trigger these spasms, seizures, and the such by administering an electric pulse to their skulls. But the Xim would never tell the Federation that, so it is up to human ingenuity to see if they can figure out the one major weakness of these monsters. If humans realized that weakness, they could probably incapacitate the Crushers with nothing but some mild electric charges. If not, the Crushers could wipe out human colonies like they were nothing. It all depends on rather the Federation realizes the weakness.

@Hael Ah, I see, although you did give hints of that in previous posts :p (with the whole modifications to the extreme thing)

Something tells me though the Federation never figured out that weakness, and normally went with "kill it with fire" or "throw everything at it" :P

I'm not really making a limit, but a humanoid shouldn't be taller than, say... 20 feet at most.

If it's not humanoid, then I won't impose a limit on you. Just try and be sure that it has enough/big-enough legs (or whatever it stands on) to support it's weight. That's why Crushers have four massive legs, because they are so big that they need a lot of support.

So make your Akkad as big as you want, but if they are over 20 feet, you should probably not let them be humanoids. If they are under 20 feet then humanoid form is acceptable, though I imagine that they might be kind of off-balance all the time

Holy shit. If this is what their mining looks like, I'd hate to see what a real military invasion would be. Remind me never to visit Andromeda.


M.O.N.A.R.C.H. is a self-aware AI that has been ordered to mine tabarium for his creators. And M.O.N.A.R.C.H. is indeed able to mine on a galactic scale while defending itself from salty assholes like The X'Cor Empire and operate like an empire at the same time.

I can assure you that an invasion from The Starfire Dominion is a lot worse that is sounds. You'll see what I mean when someone forces M.O.N.A.R.C.H.'s hand. Also, Andromeda isn't as bad as you think it is. Starfire Incorporated sees to it that all citizens of Andromeda are happy to minimize the risk of unprofitable rebellions. Remember that idyllic galaxy mentioned in the 2nd person intro? Take a ride through Slingshot 2 and you'll see Andromeda bares a striking resemblance to that galaxy, brought to you in part by Starfire Incorporated.

Quantified Kazzlehorf numbers.

Kazzlehorf has a fuck ton of drones that seems impressive on paper until you really how shit the engineering is and how basic choke pointing will lead to the biggest problem being running out of ammunition more that taking too many casualties much greater everything Kazzlehorf has is better than your military, where than everyone collectively just rolls over and dies from their own personal impotence.

6% of kazzlehorf are in the military (though they more spend their free time dicking around in drone fights than going on military expeditions.). Not sure how Hael handles drones though.

I'll give you a secret: most forms of Xim (though not all) have some "fatal flaw", so that they aren't OP. But it's up to you to find it. Most the time, I'm not going to tell you like this

Still, I feel the need that you give some type of estimate of how many drones you got.

Just read over your sheet's updates in full. I approve everything you wrote, though I wanted to ask: how large are these artificial planets exactly? As in, how many people is each one capable of housing comfortably and how many are there?

See, in most Solar Systems, the planets are far enough away that they do not effect eachother's orbit around the star significantly enough to cause disruption regularly. But, to house 200,000,000 people, it seems that the man-made worlds would need to be either HUGE (as in, larger than actual planets), or there must be MANY of them, in which case they may be so crammed in together that they are having a gravitational pull on one another- that might lead to crashing, spinning out of the solar system, and so on.

I can see three explanations for how the Ch'ak'ii have not yet crashed into each other.

1. I'm totally overestimating the size and number of these structures.

2. The Ch'ak'ii have only made a few of these, and those few are large enough to house 50 or 100 billion each (or more).

3. The Ch'ak'ii have managed to perfectly balance the gravity of these various structures so that they don't kill eachother.




All right, so size-wise the ones the vast majority of the population live on are approximately the size of your Ka'ak (which is pretty average), and generally have a population somewhere around 10,000,000. So there are around 21 of them (plus Ka'ak itself), with two of them only holding about 5,000,000 people and 1 uninhabited because it's in the middle of being constructed. Of course there are smaller ones too, but they're moon-sized at the biggest (hell some of them orbit the big ones as 'moons').

So I think it's a bit of 1 and possibly 3. As I was writing the tech part, it occurred to me that if their two specialties were megastructures and using gravity to rip apart planets, the Ch'ak'ii's knowledge of physics must be quite impressive. So I don't think them managing to balance the gravity so that everything orbits nicely is out of the question.
