Hello! Obviously, by the name, it's a re-birth thread of the amazing but all-to-soon-dead RATS thread. Original thread made by the amazing Genni can be found here - roleplayerguild.com/topics/82270-r-a-t.. - and, well, there isn't much else to be said. It'll be around the same time line, so imports from the old RP are welcome, edits are also welcome as well.

There are four classes, Brawler, Protector, Balanced, and Misc. Each has their own starting stats and trait. Brawler starts with 5 ATK, 0 DEF, 10 HP, 6 free points, and the Blazing Assault trait (See Trait Library).

Protector starts with 1 ATK, 3 DEF, 15 HP, 6 free points, and the The Wall trait.

Balanced have 3 ATK, 3 DEF, 5 HP, and the Versitle Trait, with 4 bonus points to spend.

Misc starts with 0 ATK, 0 DEF, 0 Hp, 15 free points, and no starting Trait.

All classes start with 10 energy, which can only be increased through traits.

Energy regeneration is also increased by traits. As a rule, a trait can only increase a single thing, but good narrative and creative linkage can grant traits additional features. Traits can be passive, or active, depending on the narrative, but Passives usually do not consume energy, while actives do. The Trait Library will grow as you create traits for your character. One Trait costs two points, one stat costs one point, and five health costs one point. Negetive Traits can be made to gain extra bonus points, but how many extra will be discussed amonsgt people beforehand.

Actions are:

Attack: A standard attack, using your base ATK to hit the target however you wish. Melee attacks can not hit enemies outside of melee range, however, without special traits.
Look Around: Forfeit action to scour the battlefield, possibly turning up a weapon, or noticing an advantage that can be explioted.
Use Trait: The usage of an Active Trait, expending energy for a plethora of effects, such as increased damage, shattered defense, healing, or the debuffing with Status Effects.
Rest: Make no action and try to catch your breath for a moment. Helpful when low on energy. Some skills force this action after use. Doubles energy regeneration
Guard: Take a defensive stance and prepare for an oncoming attack. Grants 25% increase to DEF, and can be used after a Non-offensive trait usage - such as a taunt.

No bonus XP, but they do get a free trait or two free stats, because they are more experienced than the new people (But not by a lot)

The Wall: The Guard skill grants +50% to the users DEF rather than +25%, and grants the spare DEF - the difference between the users DEF and the enemy's ATK - to surrounding allies against AOE attacks.
Stone Skin - Energy Cost: 3
Unable to generate stone himself, Brick may form a layer of stone skin by ripping it from the local environment. In most cases this is nominal amounts, but he can cause structural damage in dangerous situations. On each use, he may gain either the Armoured Status Effect raising his Defense by 5 for 3 rounds or the Weaponised Status Effect raising his Attack by 5 for 3 rounds.
Human shield: Allies may take cover behind Brick, Doing so grant the Shielded status. shielded targets redirect attacks to Brick instead.
Solid Wall: Brick's allies all gain a bonus to Defense equal to 1/3 Brick's current defense against any AoE attack where Brick is one of the affected targets.
Brick dust: Brick is immune to Burning status

Abilities:
  • Kai Lao - Energy Cost: 2
    Deimos attacks her target for twice her Attack and gains the Awakened status effect for two turns. Awakened grants no bonuses, but does unlock them for other abilities.
  • Yamazuki - Energy Cost: 4
    Deimos delivers two rapid punches to her target with her standard Attack. The first punch inflicts the Exposed status effect, weakening the target's armour by her Attack rating, which the second attack may then take advantage of. If Deimos is currently Awakened the second punch inflicts the Unstable status effect on the target, reducing both their Attack and Defence by 10% (rounded up.)
  • Kuchiki Daoshi - Energy Cost: 2, target must be Unstable
    Deimos takes advantage of her target's weakened state, removing the Unstable status effect before delivering a standard Attack, leaving her opponent Stunned and unable to act in their next turn.
  • Prototype Projectile System - Energy Cost: 4
    Field tested to perfection - IE; once - Deimos can now throw people perfectly, and add their Defence to the damage the enemy receives if hit. She is not held accountable for any trauma, troubles, broken bones, whiplash, falling into unknown dimensions, attacks by flying sharks or any other effects that may occur to her 'ammunition' while using the Prototype Projectile System. If Deimos is currently Awakened she may choose to make the projectile become Aimed, gaining an additional +5 Attack to the strike above and beyond any other benefits, but exhausting the Awakened status in the process.
Traits:
  • Martial Prowess
    Deimos is a master of combining her attacks for maximum effect and may trigger upto two different abilities on the same turn.
  • Heightened Chi Control
    After the possession of the Queen, Deimos is more in touch with her Chi. Increasing her Energy regen by +1, and allowing her to expend 2 Energy to negate any vision-based debuffs.
  • Martial Control
    Deimos' control over her own abilities increases. If she was to knock out any target, then any skill used after the knocking out is canceled, and the Energy refunded.

Ok. Brick is about, ten points ahead of where he should be, even with the bonus, and Vorion still has 4 points to spend. But, I didn't put in how many balanced got, so that's my fault, not yours.
