Damien was now seriously annoyed at the fox girl. Who did she think she was, telling him off like that? Still, there was no denying her rather threatening-looking flames. As the fox girl turned to the farmer, Damien looked the other way to see the hulking metal man standing up and walking over here. Damien had noticed it before, but didn't really pay attention to it, thinking it was just some statue or something that had been thrown away. Unnerved, Damien continued to stare at it until it walked past him to talk to the farmer as well.

With the distractions out of the way, Damien took a few steps away and began to wonder why all this was happening to him. He tried to remember his last memory before coming here, and it was then that he remembered. He had died saving some kid. Damien remembered getting shocked about the screen telling him that he was dead, as well as the character creation screen. He also remembered exactly what he did during that character creation process, and that meant....

Damien raised his right arm in front of him and flexed his fingers, and with a thought he managed to transform his arm into the red rocky arm with yellow markings he had pictured. Damien gave his new arm a few experimental swings, and was satisfied with the power he was feeling. He looked at his other limbs, realizing that he could do the same with all of them, and created similar red limbs from them. A wicked grin appeared on his face, loving the power he was given. Looking back at the group behind him, Damien had his agenda planned out. He really wanted to show the fox girl a thing or two, but even Damien was smart enough to realize that that wasn't a good idea for plenty of reasons. Instead, he went for the next best thing. "Hey," Damien said as he walked back to the group. "What time are these bandits coming? I feel like beating something up, and those unlucky bastards sound pretty good right now." He smashed his right fist into his left palm to emphasize the point.

Egwene shrugged softly at the scarecrow as he said the bandits refused what they offered. Which probably meant a few things, depending.
"They are bandits. Practically everything is worthwhile to them, in some manner. Which means they just want to kill you for the sake of killing you. Or they are looking for something specific" she said, totally not noticing the quip about her finely woven dress of awesome. She was deaf to all those. "It's fine. I don't need your money, you keep what you have and survive. No point paying us for helping with the bandits and starving a week later because you can't afford food" She said, before looking to the hill and nodding. An hour and a half would be plenty of time to make a Firepit and test out her new abilities. She needed to know how strong the fire was, it's range, it's nature...quite a lot, actually. It'd be embaressing to use it in a fight and mistake it's nature.

Then a metal man appeared and asked for food. he didn't introduce himself, so Egwene ignored him, and shook her head at the offer of food.
"Foxes have their own metabolism. We don't need food like you do. So I shall stay out here with the scarecrow, in case the bandits get bored and decide to come early" She said, moving off to one patch of ground that looked easy enough to dig up

Good, so they didn't pay that much attention to him. And by good, he meant really good, considering that not many people reacted to a thing almost twice their size without making a big deal out of it. If anything, it made things a bit more convenient.

And if those two were willing to brutalize people so quickly, taking slow steps did not sound as meaningless as it seemed. He found their bickering to look a bit cute.

...If cute meant barely getting at each other's throats, that was. Actually, things did not seem as cute as it initially seemed.

Rubbing his hands at the news of available food, Hephaestus giddily followed Ezekiel as he laughed, his voice menacing and filled with the malicious tone most wraiths seemed to have. As much as food was not needed for wraiths and the like, he appreciated food like the human being he was in the inside. He craved for something edible, considering that he just died and spent hours in some sort of limbo that let him modify his own body for a world he barely knew about.

Asking about where he was in the first place also sounded sort of logical, considering that the "character creator"-esque area did not fill him in too much with any sensible information. And even if there was some sort of information given to him early on, it'd make sense to ask around to know more about the details of the world. Not that it would be easy to ask everybody considering he did not look like the friendliest thing around, but knowledge was just as crucial as tremendous power.

"So I may sound like I'm asking a foolish question," Hephaestus's voice echoed as he followed the farmer, "but I don't know much about where I am. What is this place, exactly?"

He hoped that the explanation would be simple. Then again, who was he to moderate answers asked by him? No, the time to moderate answers would only come when he gets a grasp of his power and knowledge in the strange world.

Hikaru - The Forest

Hikaru managed to keep his nerves in check. That stare was damn uncomfortable, but talking dog held in. Anyway he was glad that it worked, so Hikaru decided to keep his normal dog act for as long as possible. Talking dog had no friggin idea where he was, so he still needed to collect as much information as possible. Plus now with potential party in Hikaru could also scout people and let them do the dirty work. Ha, this works for sure. Being opportunistic had some certain advantages which I wanted to abuse now as much as possible.

Although when he looked at those odd jobs, Hikaru couldn't help but be interested - but what he could do while keep his appearance in check for as long as possible ? Recipe ingridients was a big no - he would probably need to ask what exactly she needed, so it would ruin his cover. Simon Times is a human and no matter how confident Hikaru may be, he still prefered to do something light. So it was rats or goblins... in the end he looked at goblins job and nodded. This one sounds fun (hunting Rats sounds boring) so talking dog decided to move towards outside gates and check the situation. If needed - he may always run away. He just hopes it wouldn't bite him in the f*****g ass !

Damien looked up at the sun after the farmer announced the ETA of one and a half hours. Of course, Damien was careful enough to shield his eyes from the harmful rays with a hand. That would certainly be a while away, and by then Damien would get bored waiting. Still, the farmer promised a decent meal, and that wasn't something he intended to pass up. Anything free was great for him, even if 'free' meant beating up a few bandits. The metal man appeared to be taking the offer as well, though the fox girl was turning it down. That suited Damien fine. He didn't want to be around her anyway.

Undoing the transformations on his limbs, Damien followed the metal man and Ezekiel the farmer to his home. Looking over at the grumpy scarecrow Shadow, Damien thought about teasing him for a bit, but then he decided that that joke was already done with. With a sigh, Damien wondered how the food would taste. Hopefully good, at least.

Jemma - The Beach

@Leaves @Zamokra41

Everything happened far too quickly for her liking. The music was too loud, and the temperature was too high. The hot air hung heavy around her, suffocating her like a scarf she could not peel away. Her blonde hair clung to her damp neck, and each breath she drew went down like sandpaper. The more logical side of her consciousness suggested that perhaps she was experiencing a sensory overload, or some sort of shock. Perhaps it was a side effect of the candy. The thought flickered, and then died away just as quickly. Whatever the treat had done to her, she was far past avoiding the consequences. All she could do was push forward, and to the soft spoken young lady, forward meant away.

There was a hand on her shoulder, and a voice in her ear. It appeared someone else had taken notice of her, though fortunately, he was not nearly as demanding as the first. When she rounded on him, she was met with a masked wrestler. This place gets stranger and stranger, she would reflect later, but at the moment, that imaginary scarf was growing tighter.

I have to go, she had to tell them, and her chapped lips opened to do so. But a second vision, still in various shades of blue, caught the words in her throat. The figure of a woman, her eyes wide and lifeless, her thin body moving like a ragdoll as it crashed into the DJ booth. The wreckage was soon consumed by sparks, and the crowd, by unbridled panic.

"They're coming from the sea," the party-goers screamed, and Jemma intoned just under her breath. Just as the other had, the vision violently snapped her back to reality. Now, she was more eager than ever to go.

Cheeks flushed with exertion, and brow sparkling with sweat, she hooked her arms through the two individuals nearest her - the wrestler, and the beast. "Yes," she countered, suddenly recalling something that the furry one had mentioned earlier. "Get away. Private. Good. Let's go." Gracelessly, she moved to drag the two men toward the wooden pathway.

Egwene got to work digging herself a little firepit, so it wouldn't go all over the place and set the forest on fire. That'd probably be bad. It wasn't easy without a shovel, but her nails seemed strong and the dirt seemed soft, so eventually she had a decent pit filled with leaves that weren't to wet. It was here that she pointed her tail into, and smiled, letting the fire build up on the tip. Once it had finished, she gave the mental command to fire. And nothing happened. Which would have been awkward, in a real fight. So she could charge it up, but the firing required some sort of command.

What it was, she was at a loss for. But, then it came to her in a flash of light, and it was obvious. It couldn't have been anything else, really.
"Fox Fire" she announced, to herself. And in response, the fire shot from her tail and blasted the leaves in the pit. It was enough to burn through flesh, that much she knew - how, was a secret, but she knew - and that was fine. But, the flaming tip didn't recover for about twenty seconds, which meant it wasn't good for a prolonged fight. She needed to aim well before shooting it. The Fire itself was pretty quick, so little chance of it being dodged, unless she shot wrong.

Orion Stoneheart

These were some weird jobs. The rat job sounded okay, 50g was a lot. Right? Maybe? Whatever, there was no way he was fighting goblins. Goblin's had sword and axes and teeth and stuff. Orion wasn't ready to fight anything without the proper tools and he wasn't eager to pit his body against actual fighting implements. The next one sounded like you had to either be sneaky or able to beat someone in a fight, neither of which Orion was eager to test his skills at. Soup? Soup was okay. But the job was listed as normal when the rats were easy. Just what kind of soup was it? Well maybe he could at least see about the soup. If it involved like dragon's blood or something he could just leave the granny on her own and kill rats. Easy. "Alrighty, I think helping with the soup is going to be easiest and I like soup. If its super hard though I'll just kill some rats for money. You guys can... follow me! Or do your own thing. Just make sure we meet up here later aight?" It looked like the dog left to go scrounge for some food or something, Orino wasn't sure why it was here in the first place. Still with that explanation out of the way Orion checked the list again. Grandma Grinny, house located on the east side. Alright, shouldn't be too hard to find, Orion headed off to find this Grandma Grinny, eager to get some food in his belly.

"Munitam, huh..."

Considering that he was going to probably brutalize a bunch of bandits after eating, the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the house unnerved Hephaestus. Still, he took what he could from the mood and decided to enjoy the taste of bloodless air.

Raising a hand near his chest, he generated a few shards of metal and let them float about for several seconds. Indeed, he had the ability to manipulate metal, though he had no idea on whether he would be able to expand upon his gift. He could feel it- he could create much more metal, but creating shards in the middle of a peaceful house was not a good idea. Hephaestus decided to save the testing of his abilities to their full extent once he got outside again.

It would be problematic if his weight destroyed one of the chairs, so he decided to try making his own. Composing shards of metal, he directed his hand to one side of the table and slowly formed his very own chair. It took a bit to get used to constructing one quickly, but he quickly got the hand of it and ended up making a chair that looked more like a throne. So much for not showing off.

As the metal mage sat at his newly made chair(?), Hephaestus chuckled. "Anything is fine," he clarified for the farmer. A taste of chicken did sound somewhat pleasing...

Unlike the metal man, Damien had little interest in where he was. To him, one place in the middle of nowhere felt like the same as another. Damien turned his head left and right to examine the interior of the house as he entered. It felt... homely, for lack of a better word. At the very least, it felt as good as his old home. Now that he thought about his old life, though, he wondered what everyone was thinking about him now. If he died, how were his parents? How was the child he had saved? Shaking his head out of the clouds, Damien returned his attention to the present. There were more important things to think about right now.

Looking for something to distract himself, Damien's eyes eventually landed on a bookcase. What made this one stand out from the others was the glowing book. Curious, he walked over to it and pulled it off the shelf, giving it a look over. As the farmer announced that the meal would be a chicken salad, Damien dismissively said, "Yeah, sure," as he opened the book, wondering what was so special about it.

TARUM

The ringing in his ears became louder. And louder, to the point of discomfort, yet quickly subsided and to his delight, was replaced with something else. At first they were muffled sounds, as if coming from a distance, yet gradually becoming louder and much clearer. The music, the laugher of those around, the groan of the unfortunate fellow lying on the floor next to him. It all became clear in moments. Tarum smiled, he could hear again. Yet before he had a chance to do anything, he heard some other person shout, clearly aimed at him.

Most of that was unneeded! He’s not as strong as you!

Great. Someone was going to play the white knight for that guy Tarum head-butted earlier. He turned his gaze to face this new presence….and was left confused when he saw a muscular man dressed in nothing but a heavily decorated pair of underwear, boots to match and a rather flamboyant mask. Well…. The situation could hardly become any weirder could it? The Beast-Man was silently examining this…well…wrestler, his mouth agape for lack of words. This confusion did not last as the ‘hero’ continued.

"You took his drink and beat the crap out of him. Por que?"

A faint chuckle escaped him. “Kehehe.. ”Tarum clenched his fist and tighten his grip on the metal staff, the orb on its top burning with increased intensity and wisps of fire escaping from his fist. He never used magic before…not to his memory anyway…but he felt as if it was all connected to his instinct, like riding a bike, once you get a grip of it you never forget and even after years and years of not practicing you can still instinctually get the hang of it. Perhaps this would-be-white-knight would prove an excellent guinea pig for his newfound powers. Tarum narrowed his burning gaze on the masked man as he continued his sentence “He bothered me. I would say that is reason enough. And now…YOU are bothering me as well…musclehead…” The wrestler was clearly physically stronger than him, yet no one and nothing is impervious to fire and Tarum had magic on his side.

However, before anyone could do anything remotely hostile, both Tarum and the wrestler were being dragged away…or attempted anyway…by none other than the blonde lady he was holding a few minutes ago. “Yes. Get away. Private. Good. Let’s go!” she intoned with flushed cheeks and rather shocked expression plastered on her face, as if she had just witnessed a whole room-full of ghosts. Her attempts, needless to say, were not bearing fruit as she only managed to slightly nudge Tarum and the wrestler into the direction of the wooden pathway. With an irritated grunt, Tarum effortlessly snapped his arm from the woman’s grasp “What is your problem?!” he barked at her, turning his attention to the wrestler only for a moment to say “We are not finished here..” with a menacing gaze before he returning to the woman. He clasped his free hand on her shoulder to keep her steady and lowered his burning orange gaze to meet the blue of the blonde’s eyes. She was obviously frightened…no, terrified by something, something other than Tarum. Sensing that maybe she knows something of some import, the Beast-Man narrowed his gaze and relaxed his formerly irritated expression, asking her calmly and clearly.

What. Is. Wrong?

Egwene grinned broadly at the fire her tail had caused, before looking back up at the scarecrow. There was nothing to his gaze, and it did not wander or faulter. So, while keeping a foxy ear on the surroundings, Egwene stared back, equally unfaltering, there wasn't much to do while her tail recharged and those people had dinner, after all.

Hikaru - The Forest

Ugh... Hikaru was certainly not pleased. He hoped that someone would pick up the same job he planned so he could just keep pretending to be a normal dog and check how strong some opponents are before doing anything aggresive. And let someone do the dirty work, he was opportunistic like that. F**k, that certainly wasn't part of his plan. Sure, goblins in pretty much all universes are considered cannon fodder, really easy to fight and defeat but Hikaru was a friggin dog ! Ok, he needed to calm down, that's for sure. Talking dog or not, in this case he needed to check situation and plan accordingly. If Hikaru survive it after all. Plus he would need to reveal himself in the end to gather payment. Ugh, what a drag...

And indeed, goblins showed up outside the towns gate. Yeah, now talking dog needed sort of plan. Ugh, planning was never truly his strong point, Hikaru was more instict type of guy. But yeah, he could do something. Talking dog moved several meters away and started to dig a hole (thankfully dogs were really good at this) big enough to make sure they can't jump out of it, gather sticks as a skeleton to cover it followed by leafs Hikaru could gather inside his muzzle and hide trap as well as possible. After it he decide to try and test his other options. If he had them that is. And he hoped that goblins were stupid enough to be fouled.

He imagined 'Create Voice' spell to mimic voice of several scary roars coming from the opposite of goblins to scare them off into the trap. And keep 'Raise Volume' to make them more loud with each turn. If trap by any chance succeds, Hikaru decides to run into guards and bring them up near the trap to finish goblins inside. If everything works, he would be forced to reveal himself and talk to them back. But knewing that plans barely survived first contact... he wasn't so positive.

Quest List
  • Rats
  • Simon Times

So I have no idea who any of you are…

I just told you who I am, Aidan thought irritably. No surprise that the one self-proclaiming leadership was a dunce. The swordsman kept his thoughts to himself and remained silent through his spiel.

…but I think we’re all in the same boat here, but I think we should all stick together. And uh…The dog can go with whoever I guess. And let’s all…

There wasn’t much room for actual conversation before the guy started walking off to do his own thing. Aidan looked back at the golden retriever, giving the dog a blank stare...okay.

The three-eyed, blue-haired man had taken them to a fort of some sort that he called "Center Forest." Aidan glanced up at the blue sky—curious if it had actually been in the center of the woods. The tour was simple—simple because Center Forest didn’t have much infrastructure.

The swordsman scratched his head with the butt of his Shinai and mused, Well, the jobs board is…familiar at least. The old questing game.

Walking over to the board, he started from the very top and his silver dollar orbs gradually motioned down the posters.

Aidan passed his second sword into his other hand and reached up to tear the rat quest from the board.

This one seems easy enough, he figured. He then continued reading before he grasped the second mission. Simon Times…I am eager to test out my skills. These bamboo swords should be sufficient. If I need anything else, then I’ll improvise.

Pocketing the posters, Aidan had started off to Matilda’s house to go squash some rats for the girl.

Dragon Rayo

Rayo had not been in his new body for long and already he made a new "friend." He wasn't sure if he was good at reading at people back then, but he was able to read the beast-man's intentions. The luchador acknowledged the beast wanted a fight due to his mannerisms. The tightened fists and the severity of his gaze made it all clear that the beast was not a reasonable person, or had at least no thoughts toward consequences.

Rayo patted himself on his chest. This was a reminder to himself that he wasn't a weakling anymore. He accomplished his dream of becoming a luchador and luchadors don't back down. Cracking his knuckles, he prepared himself for the worst. The staff the beast had in his possession made him slightly worried. A staff isn't necessarily an item an individual would take to a beach.

"Let's not do anything irrational. I will-" Rayo stopped his banter when the blonde woman grabbed his arm. She was rushing the both of them toward the wooden path. Scratching his mask, Dragon Rayo could not make sense of what was going on. Could this be an effect of the drugs? The woman did seem worried about something.

"Are you sick? I figure with these type of parties there should be a rehabilitation tent around here somewhere. Maybe there is one-" Rayo stopped talking. His attention was caught by a loud slam. The electronic dance music that normally invaded his eardrums had abruptly halted and was replaced by screams. Turning his head, he noticed a blonde woman had crashed into the DJ's table. This had caused a stampeded of people beginning to rush toward the wooden path. Rayo's ears twitched when he heard the beast man speak.

"I'm going to go help. You stay safe,Senorita." Rayo told the woman. "Be careful with the..." The luchador then sighed. "Listen, feo. You're brave enough than me to throw the first punch, but know that I will be throwing the last one. Until another time."

The luchador then began to sprint towards the stage.

Was that the right house? Usually Grandmas were nice and good at cooking, the smoke and yelling indicated that neither of these things were true. Somewhat leery of the strange house Orion walked up to the door and knocked, yelling loudly, "Grandma Grinny, I came about the job!" Surely that was just someone who lived with the Granny. The actual Granny was probably really nice the person screaming loudly was just someone that lived with her.
