Violet Black

Violet was tired. Traveling all of the way from Seattle to Long Island with her friend (who she now knew was called a Satyr) had been very draining. Two taxis, a short train ride, nearly a dozen buses, and walking. So much walking. On the bright side, it had been pleasant to see the sights during their journey. Violet still didn't understand a whole lot about what was happening or why she had listened to this kid and left her uncle and brother behind, but had decided to accept it, since the two had already crossed the entire country.

The girl had a few small cuts and scrapes on her arms from the many trips through various wooded areas that had been made throughout the trip. She was wearing a white t shirt that was surprisingly unstained from the long journey, as well as a light pair of jeans and hiking boots. As always she was wearing a cross necklace she'd gotten at the orphanage so many years ago. Even now, after traveling for over a week, she still gave off a mysterious sense of whimsical and natural beauty. She hadn't brought much with her, just a small messenger bag filled with a few changes of clothes, some belongings, and a handful of crumpled up dollar bills.

The long voyage had mostly been filled with a peaceful silence, with an occasional question that was often responded to with a "You'll find out soon enough." Now that she was almost to the camp, Violet was getting pretty anxious. The Greek Gods... they were real. If that was in fact true, then what the Satyr said about her being the daughter of a god must also be true, which would mean-

Violet's thoughts were interrupted when her guide said that they had arrived. Looking ahead at the hill before her, she noticed the tree standing tall on top of it. Camp Half-Blood. This was it. As the pair reached the top of the hill, the Satyr noticed the small group of kids waiting there and suggested that Violet should go talk to them, before heading off to do their own thing. Approaching the three, two girls and a boy, Violet gave a small wave and smiled softly. "Um, hello." She glanced around the group, noticing that the boy was wearing an eye patch and that the two girls both seemed a little lost. Maybe they were new too? "I just got here, is there anyone that I'm supposed to talk to so I can learn more about what this place is exactly and where I'm supposed to go?"

The Legion
Isabella Wayne | Praetor | Camp Jupiter

Pausing to adjust the pinching armor on her shoulder, Isabella frowned slightly at nothing in particular. Just the minor annoyance having to adjust the armor once more, though she was confident that it would stay still this time around... it was pretty irritating. The unexpected pause in their journey caused a small whine to emit from next to the girl. Looking over, she noticed the Direwolf standing there and staring up at her with a confused expression. Why? The beast seemed to be asking, a bit confused at the sudden stop when he had thought hey were heading out to view the new recruits. "Relax, Verum. I'm only fixing my armor, we can keep going now." The girl said calmly as she began to head off, patting her leg for the beast to follow.

As she walked from the Praetoria, the girl would have to pass through the parade grounds. Seeing the legion in formation, Isabella figured she would check in with the centurion, who seemed to be none other than Anthony, and give a little surprise inspection. Musing over how she would handle anybody who was out of dress or alignment, the girl began heading over towards Anthony so he would see her coming. Giving the centurion plenty of time to call the Legion to attention. Afterall, it would be quite unfair to surprise him while still expecting him to preform his job to the best of his abilities. She wasn't that evil, at least not towards her own legion. Finally reaching the boy, Isabella wore a calm expression as the legion would be called to attention.

Scanning over the boy with a critical eye, Isabella was all business at the moment. At any other time, the girl would have loved the sight of one as handsome as Anthony... but alas, she had other things on her mind at the moment than flirting. "Looking good, Centurion Brighton. Good to see that you've finally managed to clean your armor correctly." She jabbed playfully before gesturing towards the legion in formation. "Surely, you won't mind me looking through your formation to ensure everything is in order?" She said, though it was not much of a question. As Isabella was going to do just that no matter what his response was to the question. Meanwhile, Verum had taken his place at Isabella's side, sitting and watching the Legion in formation. Not that he would be doing the inspection, but the beast did enjoy trying to intimidate the recruits.

Amy Nolan

Amy and Skye waited some more and at some point Amy started to become seriously bored. She was hoping something exciting would happen like a satyr that would show up to show them the camp. But there was no goat legged individual around. In the end it was a boy that came up to them. A boy with an eyepatch. That was pretty cool. There was a brief thought as to how the boy had gotten this eyepatch. Had he lost an eye in a battle against a monster or something like those that Heracles and Theseus had fought back in the day (the idea that those people might actually have been real was still very strange. What would you even say if you were to meet one of them? Hey, I read you died in a horrible way, sucks).

"Yes we are new and a tour would be great. Are you the official guide here or something? I mean I assume that the camp... a summer camp usually has like a guide that brings you to all activities and such..." She paused for a second, looking lost. She hadn't actually ever been to a summer camp. "Oh, my name is Amy.... Nolan. Nice to meet you."

Almost as soon as she had finished speaking a third girl walked over apparently also new in the camp. Was this like the official day for new people to join the side of the Greek Gods? Surely there must be a reason why her mom had send her to camp right at this day? She could also have gone another day, or not at all. What was up with her uncles demanding that from her mother anyway? Really, there were too many questions here. But first of all there was this one.

After acknowledging the presence of the new girl with a quick nod she turned back to Aiden and asked: "Do you know who your godly parent is? Because me and Skye here have no clue and I was wondering... if there is like a way to find out? Because I sort of want to know now? Does everyone here know who they are descendant of or is that not a very common thing?"

Liz Burton

"So your name is actually Mr. D?" She said. "That's not creepy at all." Liz said to the God seated in front of her. In return she received an angry glare and a hard elbow to her side from Simon, her best friend and satyr as she so recently discovered. She still couldn't quite get used to seeing goat legs where there used to be a pair of muscular calves from her friend who was in a swimming team. She rolled her eyes in bored frustration, or so she'd like to believe herself, and waited for Mr. D to finish his sentence. "Introduce her to the camp." The God said with an angry tone and before Liz could say anything witty in return Simon had led her outside the room.

"Don't be stupid Liz. I'm serious. You shouldn't joke around with that guy." He said with a stern look that she wasn't used to from him. Stern looks were something her grandfather did when she asked him about her father. Simon wasn't supposed to do that. "Anyhow, I'll leave it to the other kids to introduce you here. I have to report to other people too in the forest." Simon said as he led Liz outside. "Be a good girl alright?"

"Ain't I always?" She sighed more out of habit than anything else and waved him off. She watched him hop over the path with his goatlegs and allowed the exhaustion of the past few days settle in, or trickle past. She didn't know exactly. After ... that had happened while camping at the lake it'd been a wild two-days ride for Long Island, New York. Simon had begun acting very strange as soon as the thing at the lake happened. The burly teenager had abruptly grown a sense of responsability she wasn't quite used from him. She eyed the weird-looking wound on her leg where the thing had grabbed her. It creeped her out. Suddenly she was quite anxious to meet these new people, if only to stop thinking about what happened.

She walked up to a group of campgoers who seemed to be as clueless as herself, hoping there would be a tour of some kind. When she approached she heard them discussing 'Godly parents'. This shit again? That Mr. D guy was blabbering about that as well, and even these people bought this ... Well, it probably was true. Simon's legs were a clear indicator that something was not normal here. But Greek Gods? That was some next level shit.

"Uh ... Hello. Are you guys new too?" She asked.

The True God of Camp Jupiter

Ariel allowed a moment to pass by as his eyes glossed over the little group in front of him. The Blake guy was cute, and Ariel was digging the undercut. Sadly he didn’t have that flare about him, especially with his clothing, but those ones were the most fun to mess with… and the most surprising. Ariel smirked briefly before he took in the girl with the red hair. It was cute. It was fierce! It was… rather basic in the style she had it in currently. She could use some tips. Finally, the small one with their hand up. They were adorable. They looked like a coconut. Ariel pointed a single finger at her, his nails painted purple to match his suit. “What’s your question, doll?” Ariel then fabulously spun on his heels and began walking, holding a hand up and snapping. ”We’ll walk and talk, darlings.” Rule number one of being a bad bitch, after all, was independence. Ariel waited on no one, not even the praetor, so they’d be heading towards her. He placed his hands on his hips as he walked with a sway.

Anthony Brighton

Centurion of Camp Jupiter

Anthony let his gaze flow from each member of the legion to the next. It was rather interesting to see so many people in lines with fancy armor working for him, at least at the moment. He saw one of the newer members seemed to be a little too far forward. "Glad you're eager, but you should step back a bit. If there's ever a battle, and you're up like that, you'll be more open to attacks. Our formations aren't just appealing, they're good for keeping people from making mistakes, at least at the start of a battle." He gave a quick thumbs-up as the soldier stepped back, bringing the ranks into what he thought was a good place for everyone.

As Anthony stepped back to the front, he began to speak loudly for everyone "The praetor should be here soon. Until then-" He glanced to the side, seeing Isabella heading his way. "Well, speak of the devil," he said with a slight grin. "Attention!" He shouted as she began getting closer. It's sad they couldn't be at ease for a moment, but oh well.

Anthony glanced to Isabella, his grin still covering his face. He returned, in a similarly playful manner, "Thank you, Praetor. It's been hard to learn, though, with your example." He glanced towards Isabella's direwolf friend as Isabella was mentioning about checking the recruits. "Oh, you absolutely must not check their formation. They're all in terrible position, especially after I checked through myself." His tone changed from the joking tone to a serious one, "I went through and made sure they were mostly correct, I'm sure you'll find it a good example to the new recruits."

Helen Lewis,

Camp Halfblood.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She wasn't happy. Ever since she had been travelling to this camp where she was told where gods and demi-gods were, Helen had the idea that it was more than this run down hogwash. That it was a marvel to see and experience. That the people inside were actually close to the terms of 'gods' and 'demi-gods'. Perhaps her gut was right that this was just all some weird cult thing and had she been misled all this time. Didn't the Greeks of old wear toga's and such garbs? While that had been a mild relief that she wasn't forced into wearing a toga, Helen wasn't that much relief that she didn't hide her dismay. There were more of those 'satyrs'. What was even going on with them? Some weird costumes probably. Slowly she was getting worried that she would also be placed in such a costume. What a joke she would be for others back home!
Gritting her teeth, she decided that they would need a lot of people - probably two or three? - to shove her in any damn toga or weird costume. She would just see if they had some good booze and then get the hell out of here. A short argument would, however, break out between her and the satyr that had brought her to the camp. She demanded to know who was in charge of the camp, why she was here and who believed that there were actual gods and demi-gods in such a run-down cesspit of a camp. The satyr tried to calm her down and explain some matters. Glancing around, Helen noticed a small group of people.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." She sneered at the poor satyr, who rubbed his face as he tried to not lose his cool. Walking towards the group, Helen observed the few with her eyebrows slightly raised. None of them really attracted her attention. There was a guy with an eyepatch. Just great, one of them playing to be a pirate or watched too many Pirates of the Carribean.
"Yo." Helen brusquely said as she would come to a halt. Her fists placed against her hips, Helen tilted her head slightly to the left and frowned. "Who of you know more of this 'camp' and where I can find a drink? Cause if I hear one more story on that this is filled with gods and demi-gods, then I'm going to find the first nearby god and pull his or perhaps her beard." Helen had spoken in a direct manner, almost challenging to see if one of them would reply back to her. The word 'nerds' and 'geeks' was on her tongue, but she decided to reserve those nice terms for a bit later.
The Legion
Isabella Wayne | Praetor | Camp Jupiter
Smiling sweetly at Anthony, the girl nodded and said softly to him. "I should hope you didn't mess them up completely, I'd hate to think my... opinions of you were all wrong." She said before stepping past the boy without waiting a second more to see if the boy had picked up on her flirt. Motioning for Verum to follow her, the walked towards the first person in formation. A critical eye flashing over the boy as she studied the small figure. "Good job Probatio Lucia, this armor seems to be completely in order and cleaned. Though next time, keep your belt tighter and the shoulder plates need some work. Still, keep it up and you might get promoted to legionaire." She said with an approving smile before turning to look at next one in the ranks. So the girl went through the entire formation methodically, fixing problems where she found them, and generally keeping a positive tone about things. Giving praise where it was due.
Near the end of the formation, the girl chewed out a particular legionaire over his laziness and lack of wearing any sort of armor. "Legionaire Alvarez, you best head back to your quarters and get that armor put on, correctly or else." She said simply, shooting a glare at the legionaire. To which she received a spout of attitude. "Why am I being singled out? Is it just because I've known my daddy better than you?" Came the response from the girl.
"Very well. You are being singled out because you are the only one in this formation not wearing armor. Along with the only continual offender in this entire legion. Its called discipline. Its called respect for tradition and those who came before you. Its called following orders, you know, that neat thing that keeps all of us alive in battle. Since you're incapable of even the smallest of tasks Legionaire, I'm afraid I will have to take you out of the main battle forces in order to ensure my troops will not be hurt. As of now, you are hereby demoted to probatio. Tomorrow morning you will report to my office and we will discuss your meager duties. Along with what you are no longer entitled to. Oh, its also gonna hurt a bit." She said before continuing along as the girl cried out in pain. The mark on her wrist burning to remove the stripe signifying the legionaire.
Shortly after, Isabella returned to Anthony. "Well, centurion, the formation does look nice. Everything is in order other than the new probatio. But she is off getting her armor on now. Well done, really." She said with a pleasant expression and a smile.
@Rusty4297
"Now, to see how Ari is handling the new recruits. Allow the legion to be at ease until I come back with all of them. Okay?" The girl said with a pleasant smile then motioned for Verum to follow her. With that the girl began walking towards where Ariel should be to greet the new recruits. It wasn't long before she found the group. Seeing as Ariel was leading the recruits back towards the camp proper anyways. Approaching the large group, Isabella stopped a short distance away and gave a small wave.
"Centurion, I thought I mandated armor earlier?" The girl said with a pleasant smile on her face, tossing a casual jest towards her friend before addressing the recruits. "You lot must be the new recruits, I hope my friend here has treated you all correctly. As the Praetor of the First Legion, it is my honor to welcome all of you to Camp Jupiter. Any questions before we begin heading towards the Legion itself?" The silver-haired girl asked in a friendly tone, watching over all of them with her electric blue eyes. Meanwhile Verum moved to sniff at the girl holding the fox, curious as to what creature she was holding.
Stella-Maris Wynters
Large blue eyes watched the scenery fly by with disinterest before a ping from the seat drew their attention to the pink cell phone laying next to her. She picked it up and with an ease that bespoke of how much she used the technology, she unlocked the screen with a flick and a few quick taps from her thumb. The screen lit up her face as her eyes scanned over the text message. She had texted her friends before leaving the tower, saying she was going away on a trip to get her mind in order. Recent events stopped them from questioning her further and all they sent back was well-wishes on her trip and the hint to bring them back something. She sighed and locked the phone, setting it inside her purse. Who knew if she would ever see them again, never mind when. She knew next to nothing about this so-called "camp" or what it would hold for her. Her eyes flickered to the silent man in the drivers seat. He appeared to be in his late sixties, with salt and pepper hair and bright green eyes. At the sound of her stirring away from what had been her position of leaning against the window, those jewel-bright eyes flickered to the rear-view mirror before turning back to the road.
"Penny for your thoughts, Miss Wynters?"
The sound of that deep voice awoke her from her thoughts and she turned to face the man. She had known him for all of her life and he had always been there for her when her father became too busy with work. "Jarvis...Just what is this camp you keep mentioning? I know you say it's for people like us but...just what does that mean?" She was becoming frustrated, having never had the patience for when people danced around a subject. Jarvis, having spent enough time around the girl, recognized the tone of her voice and knew he must tread very lightly or else face her temper. Or lack there of. When Stella-Maris became frustrated or angry enough, he knew she would just shut down and shut everyone out. And he didn't particularly want her in that condition upon arrival at camp. She would need to have a very open and clear mind when all is explained.
"This camp is indeed for special people like us. I'm sure by now you realize how unique you were growing up-" And wasn't that true! Normal girls didn't have snow clouds form about their head when they were upset. "- and this camp was created to help you control those unique abilities and is also a place where you can be safe. I'm afraid that is all I can say at this time. Once at camp everything will be made clear."
Stella-Maris sighed. She knew from Jarvis's tone that this was all she was going to get out of the man, no matter how much she tried. She settled back into her seat, resigned to wait until she was able to get the answers she wanted. She didn't know how much longer they had until they arrived so she passed the time by playing around on her phone. Finally, Jarvis pulled off to the side of the road and put the car in park. The lack of motion jolted Stella-Maris from the action of going through all the photos on her phone. Most of them hurt her heart to look at and she was glad for the excuse to look away. Jarvis exited the car and came around to open her door. The girl gracefully exited the car, looping her purse over her arm as she surveyed her surroundings.
It was mostly fields though her attention was immediately captured by a large tree standing sentry on a nearby hill. Jarvis grabbed her bags from the trunk of the limo and slung them easily across his shoulders, showing surprising strength for a man of his age. He gestured with his hand to the hill and began leading her up it. The climb wasn't easy in stiletto boots but Stella-Maris wasn't a big complainer and thus ignored it best she could. As they crested the hill, Stella-Maris was able to see a group of what looked like teenagers standing next to the big tree. She glanced questioningly at Jarvis as the man began leading her over. He cleared his throat as he set her bags down before addressing the group as he bowed and indicated Stella-Maris with his hand.
"May I present Miss Stella-Maris Wynters, Daughter of Victor Wynters and heir to Wynters Incorporated." Introductions now completed, he turned to look down at the young girl, a gentle smile crossing his face. "I leave you in good hands Miss. Please be careful and...try to enjoy yourself." Stella-Maris smiled back at the man before stepping forward and wrapping her arms around him. "Good bye Jarvis. Take good care of the tower for me. And try not to let Letti boss you around too much." They both shared a small chuckle as they remembered the resident chef's...bossy attitude towards the rest of the staff. They hugged once again and said their farewells; Jarvis taking a moment to enter camp and place Stella-Maris's bags in a safe location until she could figure out what to do with them. The girl then watched as her butler slowly made his way back to the limo.
As he drove off, she took a deep centering breath and turned to face the group. There was a brief flash of sadness that sparked across her face before she was covering it up flawlessly with a dimpled smile. This is for you Daddy.
Cecilia R. Jones
Cecilia left the Big House in a hurry, excited to explore the camp. Chiron had explained to her that she needed to go the Hermes cabin, until she was claimed. Her body shivered at the thought of being chosen by one of the gods here. Chiron had given her a deeper explanation of her situation, telling her the basic rules before sending her on her way. She was thankful for his help, but his slightly cryptic nature would take some getting used to.
As she was about to pass Half Blood Hill, she noticed Aiden instructing a group of other demigods, they looked just as new as she was. She giggled thinking about him having to give them the full tour. No point in missing out she reminded herself, briskly walking over to the group.
There was a large array of faces, some more snobbish than others. She hovered a bit closer to the ones who seemed more curious than angry, and threw Aiden a charming smile and a wiggle of her eyebrows. ”Hello, stranger.” She said with a small chuckle. ”Are you at least making them pay for the full tour?”
She looked around the group, to include everyone in her joke. She also nudged a girl with icy blonde hair, because she was close by. She knew to stay positive, because everyone-excluding Aiden-was new here and had no clue what they were doing. Might as well help myself by helping them.
Jacqueline hadn’t gotten much sleep last night. Or this morning. Monsters were on her heels no matter where she went. She could go to a discrete cabin in the woods or a crowded street. Those fiends would be one step ahead of her. There wasn’t anything about grotesque and deadly hellions stopping undiscovered talent from making it to New York. French films filled her brain with such unrealistic expectations. Then again, was it realistic to have a near-death encounter almost every day? Sometimes Jackie wondered if she was insane and that’s the reason only she can see them. Her personal corona dimmed from fatigue weighing in. Perhaps she’d find a nice homeless shelter and rest there. That’d be easy if there weren’t monsters keeping her from going back into the city. Jackie tugged her ponytail loose, looping it twice around her wrist and letting her curls blanket her face. Her curls cascaded to her shoulders then rolled up under her chin. At least there wasn’t any humidity to make her hair poof out. Jacqueline slid her hands out of her pocket and pressed curls up against her cheeks.
Jackie had run into some local do-gooders earlier. Their big eyes and jaw drops of pity made her feel ashamed. It was given that the cold made her face look pale. Under her brush pants were legs ashier than the eruption of Mount Saint Helens. However, Jackie still didn’t think she looked homeless enough to end up surrounded by a group of self-righteous hippies. Their re-usable Aldi bags and industrial organic food supply made Jackie cringe. She didn’t care if she was poisoning her body. She would rather eat Oreos than organic sandwich crèmes. That being said, she also wished she could’ve stayed with them. Their homes were probably heated and furnished. They’d probably never let her go hungry and feed her curiosity. That all sounded nice compared to her current situation.
If only it wasn’t January and closer to April. Then she could cut down her pants and make them shorts or reasonably lengthed pants. Due to her height there weren’t a lot of options for pants. Every pair of warm, wintery pants had legs several inches longer than hers. The leather jacket she wore didn’t even fit right. There was too much material in the shoulders and she could use the sleeves as weapons. The corners of Jackie’s mouth pressed downwards as she recalled memories of hitting Mo with her hoodie sleeves. He’s probably worried sick about her. Pacing back and forth with his hair pic wedged in his hair. Maybe he doesn’t even care she’s gone. That was a possibility. Thinking about the chance of Mo not caring was as toxic as an oil spill. Last time she checked there weren’t any things on missing or an Amber Alert on the website for the Al. She was really all on her own. Jackie pressed her lips together as she tried to shove thoughts of being left alone out of her head.
Crunch~ With every footstep she’s been taking for the last hour or so Jackie’s been hearing the crunching and crippling of dead leaves. Coming all this way might’ve been a stupid idea. That’s what it felt like. There was no beauty in New York. One of her hopes was to at least to see some snow. It’d be her first time seeing snowflakes! There wasn’t even a chance of that happening according to the weather forecast she watched on a TV in a Walmart. There wasn’t supposed to be snow for another four days. That’d be a nice way to end the week. Saturday would be something to look forward to.
Right now there wasn’t anything pleasant to look at. Everything was dead and polluted compared to Alabama. She missed home. Jackie’s thoughts turned bitter like the cold air nipping at her nose. What home did she have anyways? Her grandparents were going to return her to the demon also known as Martha Summers. They were so ready to return her to a heifer. No way in hell would she would ever call her a mother. Jackie stopped for a second and looked up through the branches overshadowing her. She hasn’t seen a sky this grey since hurricane Katrina -a decade ago. The atmosphere in New York was so depressing. Only two good things have happened since she arrived in this city: death hasn’t whisked her away to its palace and a nice woman bought her lunch. Unfortunately, she had to leave lunch due to monsters lingering in the alley behind the café they were eating at. Monsters forced her away from even the smallest happy moments.
A tear slid down her cheek as doubt started filing in her brain. Would she be alone forever? All this attitude about not needing anyone hasn’t gotten her anything. The tears tumbling out might become lobed icicles hanging from her eyelids. Jackie wanted a friend. Another person that’d compose sweet memories with her, someone to laugh with. Just another soul to break through the monochrome colors of New York. She was lonely like the bird that forgot to migrate. Its chirps were so shrill and smarting. The pain of being completely alone isn’t like anything she’s ever felt before. Her heart ached, her stomach growled, tears welled up over and over again and her smile become rarer. She wanted a break from monsters and surviving on her own. How much longer would she be able to put up a fight against these beasts? The soles of her tennis shoes had been run down to slivers of plastic and cloth flopping with every advance. Her stick would break sooner or later and the knives she ripped off a kitchen would be too dull to cut rope. Jackie’s determination continued to fall lower and lower. What kind of life is this? She’s just surviving at this point. Jacqueline didn’t feel like she was living.
A small breath puffed out as she tried to keep herself from breaking down. Once more time she recycled her doubt into hope! Maybe there’d be a miracle and she’d find a home at the top of this hill. This was just a low time in her life! This is the crumbles of her old sorrows! Tomorrow there would be no rubble! Another smile forced the corners of Jackie’s mouth upwards. If that pessimistic mindset seized complete control of her she wouldn't make it much farther. Jacqueline journeyed faster. Her curls flew back; little puffs of breath became visible as she picked up speed. Jackie was only a few meters from the top of the hill when she noticed people. The sight of them caused Jacqueline to stop in place. Her eyes narrowed as she came up with a plan to lie her way out of their possible questions. She’s just going on a wintery hike for inspiration ~ That sounded like a good idea. Or she could just speak in French, confuse them and go on with her life. There's also the option of being honest. She’s on the run from an unsafe home situation and needs a bed to sleep on. They’d probably get the same old look at pity. Ask her what a 12-year-old knows about facing the world. Jackie would correct them and explain this year was her 15th trip around the sun and she knows a good deal about the world at this point.
As Jacqueline made it closer and closer she noticed the pillars with ‘Camp-Half Blood’ carved at the top. This must be some sort of camping ground. Good grief. There’s probably monsters gazillion there. Jackie had her fair share of monsters, campgrounds and RVS. She looked at the huge group of people. There were kids her age! A bunch of kids who looked her age. Jackie’s face lit up. This could be an opportunity for her to make a friend! Shivers went down Jackie’s spine as she got closer. A thing with a bajillion eyes all over its body looked at her with some of them. Was this another monster? She’s had enough! Jacqueline looked at the group of people and then at the multi-eyed thing. It resembled a male. A nice approachable guy, with a welcoming...look...looks? Cautiously Jackie walked further up giving a small wave and a sweet smile. The person that seemed to be the most organized out of the group was another guy. He was armed with a weird feel to him. Wait, he wasn’t armed like the American military would arm their shoulders. That multi-eyed dude wasn’t a monster. What is this? Jackie bit her lip and with a determined look went up towards the group. Should she say anything, possibly a hello? Were these people like her? Could she ask? They seemed like her. The more heavily harmed person wasn’t talking. Now she could say something. “Hi,” she called out delicately. “What’s going on here?” Her voice remained dulcet.
New Faces...
Aiden Debacker | Son of Kronos | Camp Half-Blood
Aiden opened his mouth to respond to Amy, but was interrupted whenever another girl approached and asked about if there was somebody she needed to talk to in order to learn about the camp. Followed by another asking if they were all new, which of course he wasn't. No problem there, he could just invite her to join the tour as well. But then the list of people kept growing, a girl wanting to know about where she could score a drink. Some dude named Jarvis announcing some girl like she were the Queen of England or something. Then Cecelia made her return, to which Aiden offered a friendly wave and kind smile. After a few seconds on silence, Aiden was ready to begin addressing everybody before yet another girl walked up. This one seeming a bit worse for the wear, but not seriously injured. So that struck the boy as a good. Taking a moment to take a breath before finally being a able to speak.
"Well... seeing as a large amount of you just showed up here, allow me to re-introduce myself then for those who don't know. I'm Aiden Debacker, Son of Kronos. I've been here for around... three weeks? Now then, I can show you lot around the camp if you so wish, help you get settled in. On that note, welcome to Camp Half-Blood. A safe haven for Demigods, people like us, to train and live. Learn how to survive in that world and combat what might threaten us and Olympus." He said with a kind smile as his eye scanned the large group that had amassed on the hill. Focusing in on Helen in particular as he recalled what she had said. Not believing in the truth, which was honestly quite understandable. The British boy could understand how the idea that one was part god could be a big pill to swallow. "Well my dear, for your questions, I'm afraid you'd have to talk to one of the Hermes kids about getting a drink. Though Dionysus would certainly not allow it, as he is a bit pissed about not being allowed to drink by Zeus. As for the stories of us all being Demigods, I'm afraid those are quite true. Because I doubt somebody who's father isn't the Titan of Time couldn't do this." He said in a confident demeanor before producing a small coin from his pocket and showing it to the girl.
Closing his eye and focusing on the flow of time around him, its tendrils touching each being and flowing through them. Having to focus harder than before, Aiden didn't want to pass out in front of all these new campers. Manipulating time became harder the more times he did it a day. Taking a deep breath and then releasing it, Aiden tossed the coin straight up into the air. Letting it fly normally for a few seconds. Behind the boy, the image of a massive clock face shimmered into existence. The hands on the clock shifting between roman numerals at an average pace. The soft ticking noise echoing over the hill before the boy snapped and the entirety of time slowed. The coin's upwards motion slowed as if flying upwards through a viscous liquid. The soft ticking from the clock slowed as well. The boy, immune to time magic, moved freely as he studied the group around him. Then casually plucked the the coin out of the air and cancelled his influence. Like strings being cut, time rushed to catch up with the rest of the world. Resuming its normal flow as the clock dissipated. With it, Aiden fell to a knee as his face turned deathly pale. He sat there briefly before shakily rising to his feet and looking at them.
"Now then, I do not know who any of your Godly Parentage, and likely none of us will learn until they claim you. So before those questions get asked, I'm gonna address that. Any other questions you have before I show you all around? Feel free to ask, or ask them as they come up during the tour. I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability." He said, cheeks colored a bit red from embarrassment as he imagined this wasn't exactly the best welcoming one could give.
Helen Lewis,
Camp Halfblood.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

@Jackie Summers@XxLyraxX@KnightAndDay@Roran Hawkins@Jasonhero@Fieryfly@Arcalept

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Helen remained silent. With her hands on her hips, she eyed the group. Raising her eyebrows slowly, she couldn't spot somebody that she would like. At least by the looks. Some of them were probably 'nice country folk'. The common Billy and Marie, grown up with chickens and cows and what not. Somebody else joined them with just a smile on her face and Helen wondered if she was in some Christian camp. Man, that would suck as she wasn't going to do anything with religion! That wasn't her thing and she doubted it ever would be something in her taste. Soon after another newcomer joined. Helen eyed the other for a second but was still waiting for somebody to answer her question. Was it that hard? Perhaps she should talk dorkish or geekish?
Tapping lightly with her right foot on the ground, Helen started to look around. This camp wasn't from the looks great. Was she supposed to milk the cows tomorrow? Chop the wood? They could stuff a sock in their mouth if they wanted her to do that! Psh! Just as Helen was deciding to walk away and deciding to see if she could make her time worth visiting this 'camp' another person joined the group. Even asking what was going on her. "Wasting time, that is going on here." Helen mumbled, crossing her arms as she was really on the edge of losing her patience.
Then that guy spoke. She didn't know his name nor did she particular care for knowing it. It wasn't like she would remember it unless a proper reason was given to it. The only reason why she didn't just walk off was because he called her : "my dear". Staring at the boy, Helen wondered if she should laugh at him in the face and walk away or ask what he had been smoking. Clearly, this guy wasn't right between the ears. What was going on with all this talk? Some Lord of the Rings stuff likely. Rolling her eyes, Helen decided that she would venture off on her own to score a drink. Judging, however, by the amount of rambling about all that weird stuff made her worry that there wasn't anything stronger than limonade or some 'light' soda. A scary thought in her opinion.
As the guy performed a sort of trick, Helen just stared at him. Remaining silent until he was done, Helen bursted in a loud laughter. Her hands moved to her stomach as she would continue to laugh. Subdueing her laugh, the teen shook her head lightly. "Listen Billy, I've seen some weird stuff. But I'm not from 2004. Just point later out where you hide the equipment and stuff, but I'm not interested in your Narnia crap. Keep that in your closet." She said, her mocking tone fitting her prhasing. "Just show where the food and stuff is stored and I'll go my own way." Helen didn't look away from the 'son of Bilbo' or whatever he had explained. Convinced that it all before was a trick she wasn't going to just buy the fact that they were sons and daughters of weird deities. Cause if that was the case, then why was she with her mom until now? Considering it, Helen wondered if this was some sort of cult that tried to get the children of single-mothers to believe all kind of crap and then do weird stuff. Didn't some time ago a cult commit mass-suicide? Remembering it vaguely, Helen glanced to some of the other bystanders. "Shit man. This is hilarious and scary as fuck." Was the thought to herself, wondering further about it. But no, sadly her mother was just a human and her father had ran away a long time ago. It was the harsh truth and she wouldn't seek shelter from the truth by pretending she was some elf from Lord of the Rings.
Amy Nolan
Unlike Helen, Amy was positively amazed by what Aiden pulled off. She had always been one to be dazzled by tricks, however cheap they might be, and this was fascinating. Though it seemed that this cheap trick had taken quite a bit out of Aiden so Amy wasn't sure if it was actually a good thing. Did all demigods get powers? she wondered absentmindedly. When she was younger she and Damien used to read a ton of comic books. It was difficult with her dyslexia and all, but it was doable, especially when Damien read them out loud. Rogue was always her favorite, and Storm. Damien always said that Iron Man was way cooler. But Iron Man couldn't steal any powers. He didn't even really have powers at all. He was just really clever. And rich. Was there a god that could grand a demigod the abilities that Rogue had, because that would be badass, though complicated.
However Amy would not find out today it seemed. Aiden very clearly stated that it was up to the gods to claim them. That sounded like they were some kind of cattle or something, or pets in a shelter, waiting for their owners to pick them up. Amy wrinkled her nose and shot a look around. More people had joined the group among which a girl with white hair which was... abnormal. But then again there were many abnormal things today. A glance at the sky however confirmed that it was still the same thing as always. There were happy faces in the winds. They waved at her as they passed by.
When Aiden finished speaking was when the resistance arrived from the girl who had been skeptic before. Amy found it slightly unfair towards Aiden who was trying his very best to be nice to them. That couldn't be a easy job. No one was ever going to believe all this stuff on the fly. The only reason why Amy was less skeptic was because of the fact that her mother had said it with a serious face and if her mom said something in that face it was true. She had made that face when she told her that Damien had passed away. That was true.
"Didn't you see the dragon?" Amy asked the annoyed girl. "We all entered from over that hill," she waved to the camp's hill in the distance that held the golden fleece. "The dragon, the golden thing, the man with the eyes all over his body that actually blink. I mean that doesn't prove what Aiden is saying here is true but it at least allows him the benefit of the doubt. Also the satyrs, who are appearantly here. Skye was brought in by one." She nudged the other girl as if to make her comment too and confirm what she was saying. "I am just saying that..." the courage seemed to leave the girl the more she said. "... there are not many camps with a lava wall that you can climb?" She pointed to the thing that stood in the distance and then lowered her hand to her cape, fumbling with the edges.
The tour! Right, that is a thing!
Aiden Debacker | Son of Kronos | Camp Half-Blood
Listening to Helen talk, the boy chuckled to himself slightly as she seemed to be a bit annoyed at everything going on. "My name is Aiden, while I don't expect you to believe all of this... I would expect that you're at least intelligent enough to remember a name." The boy said before turning to look at Amy as she spoke about what she noticed around camp. Flashing a disarming smile in her direction, the boy nodded before gesturing in the vague direction of the dragon and the man with many eyes. "Thank you for trying to help Ms. Nolan, but I think she is likely going to need to figure out all of this on her own. As for the two you spoke about, the Dragon is Pelus. Guardian of the pine that supports the Golden Fleece, and Argus is the multi-eyed man. Don't bother Pelus, he isn't the most friendly. But Argus is rather... friendly. He just doesn't really talk." The boy added as he looked over the group once more. Quite the interesting lot if his opinion mattered any.
Turning on his heels, the boy began walking in towards the main camp, gesturing for the group to follow him. "I did promise a tour, and I imagine none of you want to stand on a hill all day." He tossed over his shoulder as he made way towards camp. On their left, a large and traditional farmhouse stood to overlook the camp. Seemingly uninhabited except for the large man sitting on the patio and looking annoyed at the group of demigods. With his leopard-print hawaiian shirt, with purple shorts and running shoes to match... the man looked quite of place in this weather. Glaring at the group over a can of diet coke, the man did seem quite comfortable and annoyed by this new group passing him. "As you can see on our left, that is the Big House. Its where Chiron and our camp director, Dionysus, live. Word has it that the attic also has a bunch of cool stuff up if anybody wants to check it out. Speaking of Dionysus, or Mr. D for short, that's him on the porch right now. Behold, demigods, the mighty grace of an Olympian God!" The boy said, his voice getting louder and significantly more sarcastic in tone as he said the last line. To which the man on the porch responded with some very rude words in ancient greek. Roughly translating to 'Run along, Titan-Spawn', in tone that made it clear he hadn't meant it in a friendly manner.
Unaffected by the insult thrown his way, Aiden continued along the path he had chosen and went towards the cabins. Pointing out the various cabins, all with different looks based off of who the Godly patron for each cabin was. Gesturing towards a small, almost normal looking cabin that had quite a few people wandering around it; Aiden spoke up. "Over there you got Hermes Cabin. Which is obviously for all of his children, but also for any unclaimed demigods such as yourself. So all of you will..." the boy said before trailing off as his eye scanned the group and seemed to be counting those standing before him. "Well that is a bit awkward... Seems to me that there are more of you than there are sleeping bags in Hermes cabin. On that note, I can take about three or four of you into the Demi-titan cabin for tonight, gods know we have the room in there." He said and gestured towards a large, plain cabin that was completely painted black except for a white door on the front. "I'm the only one who lives there, as it seems I might be the only one of my kind in existence at the moment. So you'll have your own beds and whatnot. I'll take the first four to tell me that would like to stay there until they are claimed." He said with a kind and genuine smile on his features. However, at that same moment the large cloud he had noticed earlier seemed to be rolling in as a cold breeze swept through and small flakes of snow began to drift lazily down to the ground.
"Huh. Well, since I am not looking forward to standing out while it snows on us, and it seems about time to eat. Why don't we head over to the dining pavilion and get some food? Offer from earlier about sleeping arrangements still stands." He said quickly then gestured for the group to follow him and began heading towards the dining pavilion. It was, afterall, getting close to dinnertime.
Stella-Maris Wynters
@KnightAndDay @Roran Hawkins @Little Alice @Fieryfly @Jasonhero
Stella-Maris was wondering when the group was going to move or do something when another girl -Geez, was this camp filled with mostly girls or something?!- came up the hill and joined the group talking about paying Mr. Eyepatch-Guy for a tour. Well, Stella-Maris could pay. And maybe buy this guy a new wardrobe. She thought as she eyed the guy with the eyepatch. His clothes were so last season and she shuddered to think what other monstrosities he has in his closet. She felt a small nudge at her side and glanced over to see that it came from the girl that had just joined them. Stella-Maris gave her a small smile and was about to introduce herself when yet another girl came up the hill and joined them. Quite a large group they were becoming. She ran her eyes over the other girls, making small internal comments about clothes and hair before her attention was directed to Mr. Eyepatch.
He introduced himself and why did Kronos sound so familiar? It rung a faint bell in the back of her mind but when she tried to focus on it, it slipped away like a bar of soap. And whoa wait, did he just say this was a camp for demigods?! Like, half-god, half-humans from the stories her maid and Jarvis used to read to her as a child? People like them?! And why did he just mention Olympus like it was an actual place? That is just in stories! She didn't know what this guy was on but she was going to kill Jarvis for leaving her in a crazy place. It was only a matter of time before they ate her or tried to use her as a sacrifice in a demonic ritual! She needed to get out while she could, this guy had started referencing the Greek Gods like he personally knew them. But wait! Her luggage! It was in the camp! Oh no. Maybe she could sneak away and go get it? Then she could call Jarvis and give him an ear-full for leaving her here. And if he didn't come get her then Marinette would, certainly. Lord knows her maid would freak when she finds out where Stella-Maris was left.
She saw him reaching into his pocket and had a panicked thought of him reaching for a weapon or something but all he pulled out was a coin. What? What was he going to do with that? She could only stand there in awe as a giant clock materialized behind him and the coin that was tossed through the air actually slowed down. When his whole trick was over Stella-Maris could only stare at him. Her finger shot out to point at him. "I knew I wasn't the only one!" She exclaimed, bright blues flashing with excitement. Maybe here was the place she could finally get some answers on what her father told her. It was then that one of the girls seemed to flat out believe anything Aiden told them, even after the thing he just did. Then another girl came to his aid, pointing out things that Stella-Maris completely missed upon walking up.
Whoa! That's an actual dragon! And the man with eyes, she didn't get a creepy feeling from him per say but watching all of his eyes blinking was slightly unsettling. How did that work? Could he see a full 360 degrees around him? How did he sort out what he sees from each eye? Then her attention was pulled towards the climbing wall and she wrinkled her nose at the lava. Ew, heat, no thank you. She'll be staying far away from that thank you very much. She was so caught up in looking around that she barely heard Aiden speaking again and it was only when he started moving that she brought her attention back to him. She was quick to follow gracefully after him, her curiosity piqued and thirsting for more.
She studied the man called Dionysus, who didn't look very happy to be there and didn't look very happy to see them. He called out something in another language and Stella-Maris was shocked to find she could understand what he said. Now, she knew several other languages and all but, this was a language she has never heard before so...how did she know what he said? A thought to dwell on later...Especially since Aiden continued on with the tour and Stella-Maris had to catch up or be left behind and she didn't think Mr. D would like that very much. She looked at the cabin Aiden gestured at and when he mentioned how cramped it would be with them all staying there then offered to take four to his cabin, Stella-Maris didn't hesitate to step forward and accept his offer to room in his cabin for the time being. Sleep with so many other people in one room? No thank you. Besides, some of those characters look rather shady if she thought so herself, eyeing a few teenagers hanging around the doorway to the cabin.
When Aiden mentioned heading to dinner as well as snow, she looked to the sky. Indeed, snow flakes were beginning to fall. She smiled and closed her eyes slightly, not even shivering in the cold breeze despite her light clothing. She stood there for a few more seconds before she turned and followed Aiden towards the pavilion.
Violet Black
Violet watched as more people showed up. For the most part, they all looked to be about as confused as she was. One girl seemed rather annoyed about being there, and another sounded like she knew the boy addressing them all. Violet was about to respond with her own name after the boy introduced himself as Aiden when he mentioned that he was the son of Kronos. She remembered hearing that name somewhere before, either from Johnathan or in one of her old textbooks. The girl didn't have much time to dwell on this, because she caught the word "Demigod" in what Aiden was saying, as well as "people like us". Again, she didn't get much of a chance to contemplate what he meant by that before he finished his exchange with the irritated girl and pulled a coin out of his pocket.
The purple haired girl's eyes widened as the coin slowed in mid air, and she found herself slowed as well, hardly able to move. When she blinked, it happened very slowly. Once the trick was over, she didn't know what to say. That was... real. Right? Johnathan had made her study philosophy for the past two years, so she had read a lot about reality and how people perceive it, but that honestly wasn't helping at all. She thought it had to have been real, since everyone just watched it happen. But to control time, wasn't that impossible? Aiden had said his father was the Titan of time, did that mean they were all children of a titan or something? The boy had also mentioned Olympus, which Violet remembered was the home of the Greek Gods, not titans. This was all quite confusing.
As she listened to Aiden talk about claiming and Godly Parentage, some of Violet's questions were answered, but she still didn't know if this was all real. The whole time control thing had been extremely convincing, but it was all so hard to believe. She noticed how fatigued Aiden looked after his trick, which meant that whatever he did had physically impacted him. She finally decided that this had to be real. The girl who had seemed so annoyed earlier looked to be skeptical about the whole thing. Another girl pointed out the dragon on the hill, as well as- Violet stopped mid-thought, staring at the serpent by the tree. That was a dragon. An actual, tangible dragon. As the girl continued to point out other things, they only further justified the whole situation. When Aiden mentioned a tour, Violet followed him along with the others, fascinated to learn more about this place, as well as about what she might be able to do.
When picturing a Greek God, a leopard-print Hawaiian shirt had not been part of the image. Violet looked at Dionysus as the group walked past, and was startled that she had understood part of what the so-called God had said. She had only taken a year of Latin in school, and yet could interpret what he had said. Maybe that was one of her powers? Or perhaps it was just something all children of gods, or as Aiden had said, Demigods, could do. When they moved on to the cabins, she enjoyed looking at the differences in how each one was set up. She tried to see if any of them caught her eye as possibly belonging to her. The girl looked towards the Hermes cabin when Aiden pointed it out. He was right, it did look very crowded. Other campers were lounging around, and she heard something shatter inside, followed by laughter. Just like in the orphanage she thought. That had been the worst part, having so many people in one place. She liked people, but sometimes they could be very loud and have no regard for personal space. Hearing Aiden's offer for a stay in his cabin, Violet held up her hand. "Hey, I'd like to stay there." Her voice was soft, almost velvety, and yet sound and confident. She noticed a few snow flakes fall, and smiled. Snow was nice. Walking with the group in the direction of the dining pavilion, she could smell the food in the distance, and realized how hungry she was.
Liz Burton
Apparently everyone was a nutcase in this place. Looking around as conversation continued she did notice that there were some ... strange things around. There was a friggin' lava wall. Her best friend who disappeared into the woods still had goat legs, the architecture of the buildings was outrageous, and there was the case of this Argus-dude. He had more eyes than this day had surprises. Which was saying something.
The guy, what was his name again, did some kind of a trick and it was cool Liz guessed, but it only made her even more convinced that this shit was weird. She felt like the main character in a book she'd once read who looked into a mirror and found herself surrounded by fucking talking centaurs. Weird shit. Or like fucking Narnia. That one cute little guy had had goat legs too, and she promptly remembered their name. Satyrs. Her best friend had been a satyr. Damn.
As their improvised camp guide continued they passed the Big House with Mr. D. again, and at this point Liz couldn't help but giggle, untill she realised she'd understood the man. That was creepy. As if someone put her under a spell that made her understand foreign languages she had understood what the man had blurted out in what sounded like gibberish. The idea that all of this was an illusion became weaker and weaker and she was exhausted. As the tour continued passing by the Gods' houses she frowned at Hermes' cabin. That place looked too inviting. It looked welcoming. She didn't like that. If everything was going to be all magic-ey she had expected to sleep in a cave with a creepy green campfire or something. This seemed far too normal. Safe for the ancient weapons everywhere, but she didn't mind those. Her friend Jason'd had some cool swords hanging on the walls in his gaming room too. Liz suspected these were not for show however.
Then the guy mentioned food. Food. food. Food. It echoed through her head. In an instant he had her full attention and she was standing next to him. The day-long drive meant they'd survived on mentos and a single microwave burrito. Not quite enough for Liz Burton.
"So what do you guys serve here? Severed cyclope heads? Giant flying cow haunches?" She asked semi-sarcastically, too eager for the food and too tired to really put sting in her words.
