Ethel was... shocked, for lack of a better term, when Angelo opened his mouth. The boy reacted in an entirely different way than what she'd seen so far. Though Ethel didn't mind that, because she wasn't a fan of his goofy attitude in the first place. Her eyebrows frowned ever so slightly, the eyelids dropped just a tiny bit and Ethel's mouth barely curled up into a smirk. This was going to be interesting. "Then we duel," she challenged, taking one step back. Ethel flicked open a smaller deck holder she kept on her, pulling out Speed Spell - Double Summon from it. "Like this." It didn't take a genius to figure out she meant a Turbo Duel. Ethel wasn't used to challenging someone, so getting the message across wasn't the easiest thing in the world. "My win: Free of charge. Your win: I buy a card, your choice. Fair?" Ethel asked Angelo, sliding her card back into the deck holder. "I'm going ahead," she announced while not even bothering to wait for the answer. She wasn't going to take no for one, after all... And if Angelo wanted to set his own conditions, he could do so after he'd gone to the arenas. Ethel walked off, taking her eyes off of the boy as soon as she was finished talking.
It didn't take long for the girl to arrive at the Turbo Dueling arenas. She ran into Ryder, who was packing up from the lessons he'd finished giving, and a little bit of smooth talking later she managed to gain access to the Outside track. Were Angelo to accept her invite, he'd be redirected to it by Ryder. Ethel snuck into the changing rooms and changed into her uncomfortably tight riding suit. After she'd finished tying up her hair, Ethel waited near the Duel Runner simulation chamber to see if Angelo was going to show up.
Haas sat through the lesson like a good little christian boy. Both because he was actually specialized in the course, and also because he was scared to death of Transformer. It didn't last too much longer, luckily, but the boy's ears were definitely ringing now. "Uughuu..." Haas whined after the bell rang, his eyes starting to look like the swirls you'd see in cartoons. The duelist buried his head in his knees, trying to stop the throbbing headache he was having. Then his head perked up again when he heard the word 'Grub', not-so-gently said by a familiar, female voice. Before their very eyes was Megan dragging off Camryn, an action that almost left Haas speechless. "Wait, weren't we going to get food together?!" he cried out to the red-haired girl, but it was too late. Megan was already out of earshot. And then someone tapped him on his shoulder, making Haas jump up from his seat in surprise. After blinking twice, he saw it was just Hayate. "O-Oh... Uhm, Hi Hayate." Haas rubbed the back of his neck. Well, this was embarrassing. Then Hayate asked him if he was planning on doing something, which was met with an exasperated sigh. "Errr, weeellll... I was about to, but not anymore I guess," he replied, ending it with a shrug. A strange, inexplicable feeling of dread crept up in Haas' chest. He felt like something was going to go very wrong for him.
Whilst Ben and Amelia were sitting at their table, they could hear a few whiffs of conversation from two nearby students. Both were girls of the Fire dorm, one with spiky, reddish-brown hair and the other with curly black hair. At one point, the brown-haired one started to talk about a rather interesting concept. "Geez... Some students have been caught dueling after the allowed hours, isn't that silly?" The other replied to that with "But don't they bet cards or Duel Points or something? I hear they modify disks, too, so the school doesn't find out... Some Divines even joined in on it, I hear." From that point on the duo of girls started to gush over Divine dorm and how they were so cool. It was just a few seconds of meaningful conversation, but if either of them pay attention they could've easily picked up on it.
Hayato arrived in the gym without a hitch, finding the room to be quite spacious. It looked like a standard gym with a closet in the wall a little ways away. It was the place where they kept all the sporting materials, so he would be able to find what he needed pretty easily. A few students that were already dressed in dark purple blazers were lifting weights and grinned as the boy entered the room. On second glance, Hayato could notice they were... Snickering. As if to mock him. On one of the benches placed neatly along the wall sat a petite girl who looked quite out of place, also wearing an earth uniform. She seemed to be napping, too. No other students seemed to be in the room at the time, so Hayato was alone with the company he had for now.
