Works out fine, I'll give it a good look-over when it's not after 2:00 in the morning though. ^^; Sorry about that. In another RP where it was in a different situation I'd encourage a lot of diversity, but in this case it makes sense for the cast to keep non-Japanese characters more rare. ^^;

Wukong's staff was the Ruyi Jingu Bang. That's the romanisation.

I suddenly had an idea for a Ritual Device. What about having a pact with Dionysus, God of wine and merrymaking? It's said that when he's at a celebration and dances, he frees others from negative feelings.

So I was thinking, if someone made a pact with Dionysus, he could use that power to 'power up' those around him. He's sort of like a support-type character. Of course, he needs to be celebrating and/or drinking any form of alcohol.

What do you guys think?

I came up with a similar idea for a character before I looked through the OOC and saw your post. She would be a faculty member who needs to be inebriated in order for her powers to activate. The difference being that she makes a pact with a different alcohol themed god and her ability is more of a "Drunken Fist" sort of deal. I was wondering if I could make this character with your approval. Wouldn't want to step on any toes here.

@Renny Sorry about that. I find it a bit annoying when characters are foreign but... you could take that out of the bio and everything makes just as much sense. It would be like having a character that had no arms but never actually explaining it or doing anything with the idea.

... and I feel horribly elitist for saying that. xD

It's mostly just so things make more sense.

There's Ritual Academies all over the place in the RP's world, it seems kind of weird that people would flock to send their children to Japan, especially to an Academy that keeps losing in the final round of the Academy Tournaments.

Appearance: the only thing he can't heal is himself

Personality: Mainly a laid back and friendly guy who would prefer to relax and goof off all day when he isn't taking care of the needs of various students, if he weren't such a medical genius he probably would have been fired long ago for sheer laziness. Doctor Satou really only gets serious when the lives of his charges are endangered. In that case an entirely different side of his personality emerges, cold, focused and determined to protect them at all costs. He certainly doesn't seem like it, but if asked he'll be glad to help the students at Ohtsuki in any way he can and generally takes in a lot more than he lets on.

Skills: Doctor Satou is highly skilled in a wide variety of medicines and is said to be a master of all forms of healing and self-betterment from cutting edge modern medicines to ancient healing techniques, and would be ridiculously over-qualified for a school's medical professional if not for the e fact that his students are expected to see combat in one form or another. As far as he himself goes, Daichi was and remains an incredibly skilled martial artist and fighter despite his usual inability to walk or see out one one eye and even without the use of his Ritual Device, skills supplemented even further by his knowledge of human anatomy.

Equipment: Dr. Satou's Ritual Device is his metal crutch, which has a small charm in the shape of a gourd bound around the top effectively making it a symbol and shrine to Tekkai Senin a Daoist Immortal sage and deity of healing, purification and protection of the sick and downtrodden.

Abilities: Doctor Satou's Ritual Device gives him access to instantaneous healing abilities beyond even his considerable medical skills. In fact he can even temporarily supercharge his own body with health to gain superhuman physical abilities and push himself beyond what a normal human body can endure, though the specifics of his pact mean that he can only ever temporarily heal his own permanent injuries and moreover he can only access his full power when drunk, something he tries to avoid as a member of the school's staff. Additionally his pact with Tekkai gives him access to the abilities of an exorcist of evil spirits, malevolent youkai and demons, though he rarely has a need to use such abilities.

Brief Backstory: Despite rumors involving everything from him being a legendary traveling exorcist to an infamous doctor for clients in the criminal underworld, Doctor Satou insists that he's just an ordinary school nurse who got his distinctive injuries by falling down the stairs in a really unfortunate way one day.
