Arren Malla

This battle wasn't going to end well. The Poliwag was knocked out, and so was the Houndour. This battle is not going my way. What can I do in this situation. She looked over at Vuduin and his Pokémon, but he was having problems of his own. Budew was lying on the ground, and was vulnerable to an attack. The Machop was rolling around on the ground with her own Pokémon, and the Magikarp was pretending that it could fly.

Well, this battle is just full of suprises. First the Budew decided to have a growth spurt, and now there are flying fish. Not to mention the Machop is rolling around on the ground with my Poochyena, who doesn't even have hands! I've got to get him away from the Machop, since if it stays the way it is, Poochyena is out.

She glanced over at the Budew, and was wondering what Vuduin was going to do. His Pokémon has no arms, how was it going to get up? The only thing Arren knew for certain was that she couldn't expect him to help her. The Houndour was out, so she was on her own. She tried to figure out what to do.

There is no way I'm going to give up! Maybe if I could get Poochyena to jump away from the Machop, and then tackle it, that might help even the odds. Poochyena just can't wrestle like Machop, since it has no hands or arms. Well, here goes nothing.

"Poochyena, jump back from Machop and then use Tackle!" Arren shouted to her Pokémon. She could only do one thing, and that is hope her plan works.

Tesh Yama

Redorchard

Kaz's balance was offset for a split second by the zig-zagoon's maneuver. Tesh kissed his teeth and put away his pokedex. "Kaz!" He called out, alerting his Meowth immediately. The little feline flinched slightly as a tinge of pain gently crawled across his back. Tesh pointed towards the bushes where the erratic pokemon had scurried towards. "Wait for him to bounce. Strike while he's airborne," Tesh commanded, bending over and picking up a medium sized rock. He tossed it about casually as he turned back towards the bushes with determination in his eyes. "Slash it right out of the air. Subdue it with your teeth if you can upset its rhythm," Tesh ended on, tossing the rock into the bushes, as far behind where the Zigzagoon had entered as he could manage.

Trainers couldn't interfere with professional battles, aside from with their commands, but in the wild? What stopped him from helping his Zigzagoon out a little? Rock throw Tesh thought to himself with a smirk, hoping the small noise would spook the excitable little Zigzagoon enough to get it out of hiding. Kaz waited patiently, heeding Tesh's commands as much as he could.

Abigail Lowe

Route 1

Deerling looked spectacularly annoyed. He had decided that he didn't like this bird thing. Stupid, smug greedy bird taking all of his candy. For the sake of his trainer, he didn't do anything against it, but he resented it just a tiny bit.

Abigail on the other hand couldn't help but giggle as Pidgey walked across her shoulder towards the sweet. It was like they were doing a balancing act together, and they'd only just met. Although the Pokemon did seem to have an appetite, but that was a good thing! That meant it was healthy and stuff, although she didn't get how something so small could eat so much. She thought about it for a second. Nope, she couldn't remember meeting anyone like that. Pretty strange.

Speaking of which, Pidgey was finished the candy, and Abigail found the posing pretty funny. Once it turned to look at her, she waited for a minute in uncharacteristic quiet. She was actually about to start moving again when she remembered that she needed to actually catch it. She didn't really want to battle the Pokemon now, though. It didn't seem like Pidgey wanted to either.

With a small laugh, she held onto the Ficus Ball with her free hand, then looked at Pidgey, locking eyes with the small Pokemon for a second with a friendly expression before holding the Ball a little in front of its face. "There's way more candy where that came from, Pidgey. You wanna travel with me and Waffles? Just push that button if you want to, okay?"

Hearing this, Waffles looked on in wide-eyed horror. Of all the possibilities he had thought of, the idea that he'd have to deal with this smug bird taking all of his candy was the worst by far. The Pokemon's jealous look intensified, but that didn't dissuade his trainer. Probably because as usual, she was oblivious to everything except the thing she was focused on. In this case, that was Pidgey, serving to make the Deerling even more annoyed.

~IT DOES ITS LEVEL BEST TO GLARE AND PULL A SCARY FACE, BUT IT CAN’T HELP GRINNING IF ANYONE PATS ITS HEAD~

Okay, good, scanning it with the pokedex was just as simple as pointing and shooting. Awesome, then. Nerds knew how to make things simple, then. More importantly, though.

~ACQUIRED 100 P FOR ENTRY: PANCHAM!~

That was it? THAT WAS IT? Just 100?! She could have made more by just mugging some poor kid. Well, stealing their lunch money rather. Fucking hell, what was this? Those nerds could pay ten times more for doing their work you'd think. Unfortunately, she didn't get much time to ponder that. She had alerted the Pancham, and a battle was quickly ensuing. For one, that surprise attack had been less effective than she had hoped. Two, the Pancham snarled - if it could be called that - and was charging right at Quill.

"Alright Quill! Show that Pancham's whose boss! Knock that Pancham right out!" Lynn shouted. A direct attack was a bad idea, in all likely hood. Fortunately for her, Quill was 100% smarter than she was when it came to tactics. Ignoring the directive to attack directly, the Sneasel would dodge to the side, sliding around to Pancham's side, letting the tree behind her do the work for her, hopefully causing the Pancham to run into it.

Lynn simply frowned at the display.

"I said attack it, Quill, not dance with it!"

Vuduin Alimore

Sweet victory! Budew had finished off the Poliwag in a single burst of energy! Unfortunatly the two bro's left used a stunning amount of teamwork to defeat Houndour. It was amazing really, Vuduin never would've thought of doing something as awesome as that. Still that left them in a new situation. Poochyena was entangled with Machop and Budew was wiggling angrily, but ineffectively on the ground. Vuduin was puzzeled for a moment on what his next action should be. He was powerless. Or... was he? Vuduin remebered one of the bros pushing his Machop into action. Surely it wouldn't hurt to... Vuduin took a few long strides to Budew and uprighted the struggling Pokemon and pointed him in the right direction. [b]"Come on Budew, take care of that Machop with another super-powered Absorb!" Budew made an odd squeaking noise that was a mix of thanks and disdain and obeyed, focusing intently on the Machop, striking just as Arren's Poochyena jumped back. Hero time!

@Xan the G@Eklispe @BlueSky44

“Hey bro, not cool!”

The blonde-haired brother, who had just returned his Poliwag, glared in Vuduin’s direction as he reset the Budew’s position onto his feet. Despite what Vuduin thought he saw, the brothers hadn’t interacted with their Pokémon at this point. Chuck continued to point fingers, perhaps a bit salty about his own loss.

“Pokémon can’t be assisted in battle.”

The red-haired brother crossed his arms and looked to Chuck. His mouth slanted to the side, and his pupils appeared to dance on other side of his eyes.

“Come on, man, let him be. We’re all still figuring this out.”

Chuck shook his head, standing up quickly and punching the air about him. He massaged his forehead, palm circling the skin and fingers intertwined within his blonde curls. He kept making loud, sighing noises, but you couldn’t see his mouth behind his arm.

“Whatever, bro. That’s cheating. We should win off that.”

“I get it, man. But this is our first battle, and it’s not like there’s a need to referee so much.”

Chuck nodded his head slowly, wiping his face with a downward stroke. His fingers caressed his temples before finally he released his palm. He looked to Puck with a knowing smirk, blue eyes giving off a star of a spark.

“You’re right, bro. I just got heated, that’s all.”

The blonde-haired sailor balled his fist, resting his chin on the opening. He retained his smirk as he eyed the three of you, a warm aura emanating from his glance. He opened his mouth, revealing two perfect rows of straight, white teeth.

“Hey, don’t let up on the Broletariat! This battle’s far from over! And we’re gonna win!”

Poochyena’s strategy was to jump away from the grip of Machop, but this simply wasn’t possible. The hound was now in the realm of the Superpower Pokémon. Within the wrestling ring, the fighting Pokémon was king. When Poochyena attempted to rest itself from his grip, the Pokémon only found another position from which to pin him down. An offensive approach may have been more effective in this instance. Nevertheless, Poochyena was now in the iron grip of Machop.

“That’s it Brohammed Ali! Make him tap!”

Machop wrapped its bulbous arms about the neck of Poochyena, and formed a circle by clasping its palms together. It then gave a mighty tug backward, putting Poochyena into an improvised chokehold. And after some struggling moments of this, Budew would choose to Absorb the entangled duo. There was no way to differentiate targets in this instance, even if his intent was to solely Absorb only the Machop. They were simply too close together. Green, glowing orbs flew to their location and surrounded the wrestling pair. Ethereal, emerald ribbons emanated from the bodies of both Poochyena and Machop. Their final ounces of energy had drained from their bodies, and now there seemed to be no more fight left in either of them. They both would collapse to the floor.

“Brohammed Ali! You’ve got to get up! Don’t KO now!”

~MACHOP IS UNABLE TO BATTLE!~

~POOCHYENA IS UNABLE TO BATTLE!~

That left the Budew, standing vigorous and vivacious as the energy of both Pokémon became one with its inner ferocity. Large and in charge, there was only one obstacle left to face…

CRASH

The homing missile of a Magikarp had been descending this entire time. Its momentum climbed until it collided with Budew, its significant weight enough to knock the bulb Pokémon onto its back once again. The two skidded and slid until they rested in a precarious position, hardwood floor squeaking until the two halted. The Magikarp ended up on top of the Budew, repeatedly smacking the grass Pokémon’s face with its serrated tail fin. No mercy.

“KAAAARP!”

“That’s it Brometheus! Finish this!”

The Broletariat cheered on the final duo. Whoever won the engagement would crown their team as victors.

@Rune_Alchemist

Pancham continued its headstrong assault forward, ready to knock any Sneasel, plant, or obstacle in its way. The material of the acorn stem crunched between its teeth. Its giant, doughy eyes remained transfixed to the blurry blades of grass. The teddy bear charged with all of its might, though try as it may, it still couldn’t manage to intimidate anything or anyone. A few leaves crunched underneath its furry dash, though. Lynn commanded Sneasel to take the charge head on, but her Sneasel had other plants. The sly Pokémon leapt away and to the side. This left only one object in the way of Pancham’s charge. Since Pancham was staring directly at the ground, it didn’t see the oncoming pine standing stalwart in its path.

THUNK!

A collection of pine needles fell to the ground. A few bundles collected on the Pancham’s paws as it held the top of its head. The playful Pokémon rocked back and forth, rubbing its head alternatively with each paw. It shook its head and made a low grunting noise. Tiny, furry legs kicked up and down, messing up the neat collection of pine needles. It seemed distracted by its bump on the head, for the moment.

@tex

The intriguing, method stone throw arced beautifully into the tall grass. You heard a thud as it collided with the soft ground beneath the green blades. Just afterward, the rustling of the patch bush intensified. The petals danced, shaking about erratically. It appeared as if many, buried Oddish were shaking their elegant petals all at once. And, on queue, the boisterous Zigzagoon sprinted forth from the bush.

“Ziiiiiigzagoon!”

The Zigzagoon stuck to what it knew best. It continued its jagged, serpentine movement toward the Meowth. Its movement was like bounding between the arcs of lightning. At each turn of jagged edge, it landed with jittery palms and leapt once again. Despite being a normal Pokémon, it was actually very rarely on the ground during movement. If it were in the trees, you figured it would be trivial for it to bounce from tree branch to tree branch. When it did land, a miniature cloud of dust was kicked up from the dirt road. It had little effect on the Pokémon, other than to dirty its cream paws to a light brown. The raccoon-like Pokémon failed to halt its approach as it continued to take leaping bounds towards Kaz.

@Lasrever

The Pidgey listened intently to the words you spoke. It continued to twist and adjust its neck as you said each and every thing. The Pidgey had incredible focus, able to ignore the jealous Deerling on the ground and pay all of its apparent attention to you. Perhaps a full stomach was the key to sweet victory with this Pidgey. Once you were finished speaking, only then did the tiny bird Pokémon move about.

First, it dragged its feet backward and in place. The talons could not be retracted, but they only glided across the surface of your palm. If anything, a tickling sensation would begin to possess your hand. The Pidgey would then lower its body, nearly touching your skin. The feathers on the underside of its belly would be just grazing your palm. It then thrust its wings high, and began to raise and lower its head in a definitive, nodding motion. And, with a spontaneous hop forward, a downward motion of the nod allowed its beak to press the button on your Ficus Ball. A red beam enraptured the Pidgey, converting its color from brown and white to the bright crimson. The beam returned to the opened Ficus Ball. With a high pitched beep, the noise of capture faded into memory.

Your Pokédex began to vibrate. Once or if you checked it, you would see dancing blue letters began to dash across the screen.

“VERY WELL. YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO CONTACT EVERGREEN LTD. WHEN AND IF YOU REQUIRE MORE INFORMATION.”

With that, the hologram waved to the both of you. The pixels and lines comprising its body began to dissipate. The digital atoms flew into various parts of the room. Some became rushing, blue letters across a screen. Others became portions of others ERICs materializing in the white-tile room. The rest of the pixels simply floated about as streams of incoherent data, waiting to be utilized by the system Evergreen had set up.

And, speaking of the Professor, she happened to come into the room as if she’d known you’d finished. She approached the both of you, resting her chin on a balanced elbow. The constant stream of trainers pouring in had visibly exhausted her already. A shade darker than her skin supported her eyes. Despite her visible fatigue, she managed a smile as she supported her chin on an open palm. She giggled as she saw Derrik’s Gastly practically assaulting the trainer. It was quite the contrast to the inseparable duo of Garret and his Vulpix.

“Give it some time. He’ll come around. My system always pairs your best matches for Pokémon.”

You were free to ask any questions or make any parting comments, but ultimately your quest did not lie in Evergreen’s lab. It was before you in the form of an open door. The empty frame revealed a silvery, arctic environment outside of this room. Once you took your first step out, you were officially on your way as a Pokémon trainer. What would you do first? Would you revisit the town, or had you said your final goodbyes? Would you attempt to battle any of the new trainers pouring forth from the lab? Or would you make your way directly towards the route, ready to start your adventure? Perhaps, a combination of everything was racing in your mind. Perhaps something entirely different.

Dewmeadow

@Morose@hatakekuro@PlatinumSkink

The three of you, as a group, decided it was best to search for Dogwood’s research assistant Cass. As you’d all noted at this point, it was odd that both her and the merchant weren’t around when they usually wouldn’t be. With a warning from Dogwood and your own wits about you, as well as your Pokémon, the flat prairie of Route A was laid before you. The flat land, save for occasional oak or maple, revealed land for as far as the eye could see. Patches of weeds collected moisture from the frequent rains. The meadow before you was brilliant, as thousands of droplets of water shined in the luminescence of the sun. You could hear the occasional Taillow chirping from inside tall grass or leafy foliage, but no other Pokémon had made itself known just yet.

As you crossed further into the territory of Quagmire, you noticed the environment changed with it. The flat prairie became more hilly and uneven. Dew on blades of grass became swampy earth. Mud coated the ground in nearly all areas other than the road. A coarse collection of stones was embedded into the path, perhaps to prevent it from becoming quicksand of the land. The smell of moist earth assaulted or caressed your nose, depending on your taste in scents and the outdoors. All of that moisture had to come from somewhere, and soon trails of droplets became creeks, which became streams, which became rivers. The stone-dirt road snaked its way over and about many of the bodies of water. However, one powerful river was larger than the rest. Its rapids crashing into sharp stones made in nearly impassable by novice explorers. And, as far as you could see in either direction, the river had no end. You would likely end up lost in the miasma if you were to attempt to circumvent the obstacle.

Luckily, there was a wooden arc bridge before you. It was simple, plain, but hardy. It held strong against the occasional tide that crashed into its hull. You knew these planks of wood would hold strong if you were to cross. Unluckily, it appeared there was an individual blocking the path. He crossed his arms as you approached. A strange, crustacean-looking Pokémon skittered from side to side in front of him. Its claws collided together in loud, snapping noises.

Mara Scelus
@Whimsley @Pikmin Eye @PlatinumSkink @hatakekuro

"I can see why they named it Dewmeadow," Mara said dryly, walking down the flat prairie path. Her feet kicked up little bits of dust, and Kira growled at each and every quivering piece of grass, convinced it was a danger to Mara and himself.

More distracting than the water and the grass, however, was the abundance of Taillow! Mara groaned a bit, pouting as she wished something else would appear. With an eye roll, she aimed her pokedex in the most sarcastic way she could, hoping to capture the information and ensure that she'd be able to have some money once her savings ran out. Though, she was fairly certain that battling was going to pay better than anything Dogwood could provide.

After all, he couldn't have had that much money -- he was in a rural area with only one assistant, after all! The weeds caught her attention next, and she laughed. They reminded her too much of everyone who lived in Dewmeadow -- inconsequential and unwanted. Void of anything... unique. Rubbish.

She perked up as soon as the landscape began to change, turning from a dewy meadow into more of a quagmire. Her eyes widened in excitement, and without a second thought, Mara raced through the muddy lane. Mud and grime covered her shoes, socks, and up to her knees -- but she didn't care. Her mind was racing as she looked around at everything -- everything new, new, new, and new!

"Come on, guys!" Mara exclaimed. "Hurry up! I think I see a...bridge..."

She hesitated, as the monstrous pokemon and its cross looking trainer blocked the bridge. She hesitantly walked closer to him, wondering if he would step aside, and allow them to pass. Gulping a bit, she knew instantly that this had to have something to do with Cass. Throwing a glance over at Yasha and Rowan, she wondered which one of them would want to take the lead.

But then again, she didn't want to wait.

"Excuse me, we need to pass, thank you!" Mara said to the strange man.

"Ah it's such a nice day!" Yasha said as he walked with his group of friends. His hands were resting behind his head as he sauntered along. Everything was just so pleasant and beautiful to the eye; the flat landscape seemed bigger with the open sky that truly had no end and the meadows were absolutely radiant with he morning dew glistening in the sun. Lulu was less impressed with their surroundings and flew along side her partner with her resting bitch face.

There were so many of these bird pokemon in the air. Taking out his pokedex, he scanned the Tailow flying around and received information, which was announced outloud by the handheld device with a digital voice. "Taillow, the Tinyswallow Pokémon. Taillow has a fierce personality, never backing down, even against the most powerful opponents."

"Tailow huh?" A wide grin appeared on his face and he chuckled a bit. "Don't they look so cool Lulu?" His eyes were shinying brightly at the sight of the flying pokemon though Lulu gave him the silent treatment. She was still upset with getting caught in a giant mass of webs and claws. Yasha kept grinning though it was more sheepish than before. "Please don't ya be upset with me."

The surroundings had begun to change into a much more hilly, muddy quadmire. Apparently, Mara was the most excited out of the three to see a muddy bog. "Ya more excited than a Mareep durin' sheerin' season!" Yasha called out to her as she ran through the mud. Seeing that she wouldn't slow down, Yasha dashed after her through the mud and laughed.

They had made it to a bridge though there was someone there with a crustacion pokemon blocking the path. "Uh, good mornin' sir. Could ya move outta the way so we can cross the bridge?" He had stepped in front of Mara and Rowan with his ever friendly smile though there was a spine tingling sensation that he got from looking at this guy.

Lulu felt it too and was on guard. The Yanma flew in front of him and had a scowl that was more vicious than anything. "Uh, ya wouldn't know anything about a woman named Cass would ya sir?"

The Red Hand

Charley

Dewmeadow

@PlatinumSkink @Morose @Hatakekuro

Monster, no respect, predator. These words were used when he was rejected from The Red Hand. It didn't make sense to him, he thought anyone was allowed in. He had power, so why wasn't he a shoe in for the group? He sat there on a bridge as he contemplated these questions. He had a get rich plan and it was going pretty well. Charge a high price to cross the bridge, and destroy anyone who doesn't cough up. It's been quiet for a while, but new trainers had to cross this bridge to get to Dewmeadow. The rapids below were too ferocious for them to cross any other way, and he has been exploiting this.

He looked around, the bridge seemed old, but it still held strong. The rapids caused the rocks below to become sharp at the top, further reason to use this thing. His Pokemon seemed bored from just sitting around and wanted something to eat. He sat there thinking to himself. Most new Pokemon only had tackle, which would be funny to watch their dreams go down the drain much like his did. If they tried to fly over, a few Rock Blasts would ground them quickly. He smirked, this was all too easy.

It was looking to be a boring day, all this dirt and mud everywhere. It was quiet for a bit, till he spotted more trainers in the distance. Oddly, they weren't looking to enter Dewmeadow, but leave it. That means they probably had Pokemon and more importantly, money. He peered over the edge of the bridge, quite a long fall if someone fell down. All that water and rock, gonna be painful. Push come to shove, sending them over should be a good finisher.

There were three of them, a girl up to her knees in mud, some guy with what appeared to be a flying bug, and a shorter trainer with what appeared to be some kind of cat. Two of them were asking him to move aside, that's not how it works around here. The third one looked ready to say something but was quickly cut off. He crossed his arms, his Pokemon's claws snapping with anticipation. He stood tall and glared at them, preparing to speak.

He held up his hand in a stopping motion, "Sorry, this bridge here is under the protection of The Red Hand. You won't be crossing, for free. The toll is 600 Pokedollars per trainer and 100 for each Pokemon. If you for some reason can't afford the toll, then it looks I'm gonna have to beat what you have out of you." With that said, he cracked his knuckles for dramatic effect. His crustacean like Pokemon looking ready to attack if they dared to move in any direction. A silence in the area allowed his words to echo a small amount, letting it sink in.

"Ya know, y'all mouth stinks from all the Tauros patties ya spewin'. This is a public route is it not?" Yasha stated bluntly, placing his hands in his pockets. His bright blue eyes that were almost always shining bright with cheer were peering with a sharp glare. He took another step forward, cracking his neck with just a small motion. It was obvious that this guy wasn't going to let them pass no matter what they said. There was no other way to get past him; the river would tear them apart if they tried to go through that way and even if they could get away, they couldn't just leave someone like him acting like a toll troll underneath a bridge. They had to fight.

"Ya just another thug like Team Rocket aren't ya? Preyin' on the weak and gettin' fatter and fatter like a Magickarp too big for its pond. And ya know what? Just like'em, scum lika ya need to be put down. Lulu, Quick Attack!" He commanded his pokemon with a less lighthearted tone than he had before when the three of them were battling the children.

"Yan." With a burst of tremendous speed, Lulu shot straight towards the thug's pokemon. The attack almost seemed to be cutting the air, whistling loudly as the Yanma flew straight towards the crustacean pokemon.

Rowan Branchers

_____

Route A

… So, it turned out Route A was pretty eventless, and he was currently carrying Purrloin while she slept in his arms. He didn't really want a Taillow, then again, one could be of good sentimental value from his home. He could totally imagine that he could bring allong a Tailow as to represent Dewmeadow, and... but... Rowan's energy drained as they walked on further, but he kept himself walking. Somewhere, at the end of this walk, was the start to his Pokémon journey! And he had friends here, too! Oh, that's right! They should totally talk about things on the way, obviously!

'So...' He was about to ask something, when he had to blink when the bridge appeared in view and Mara took off. Rowan took his time to inspect what was in front of them... and got the shivers. The trainer... looked so ready for them. And his words... ”Red Hand”? What's that? Whatever it was, it didn't sound good at all. And given what he said, it was clear. This man wasn't a good person.

Rowan froze for a moment, his eyes widened. This man... had the confidence to block the road. This likely meant he had confidence in his abilities. This would, in turn, mean that he had earned this confidence from somewhere, likely with years of experience, and could therefore be counted on to be pretty powerful. With other words, with all likelihood, the three young beginners would likely not stand a chance in a fight. They shouldn't try to. They should try to find an alternative way over, even if it meant catching a Tailow and then just having it fight Tailows until it evolved and was able to carry them over. Yeah, their course of action was clear, fighting wasn't an option...

"Ya just another thug like Team Rocket aren't ya? Preyin' on the weak and gettin' fatter and fatter like a Magickarp too big for its pond. And ya know what? Just like'em, scum lika ya need to be put down. Lulu, Quick Attack!"

… WAIT, WHAT!?

Rowan blinked and stared wide-eyed at the hotheadedness of his friend. Th-this wasn't a job for our kind! They should alert adults, or something...!

'Wait, Yasha! H-he might be too... powerful...' Rowan stuttered, staring forward in fear, not knowing what kind of Pokémon that was or how powerful it might be. He felt extremely unprepared for this being their first obstacle as Pokémo trainers.

'Puuurr...' Purrloin suddenly made a noise. Rowan blinked and looked down on her, where she now was awake in his arms. She stared forward at the trainer, her eyes having something very annoyed in them. How dare he claim ownership of something SHE was to cross over!? The nerve! He needs to be taught a lesson.

'Ah!' Rowan blinked as Purrloin sprang from his arms, landing in front of him, and threw him a surprisingly threatening glare back at him. Sh-she was actually itching for a fight...

'Purr-Purrloin?.' … ”Well? Are you going to fight with me, or not?” … Somehow, Rowan kind of understood what she intended. … Rowan took a deep breath, cooling himself, and then nodding.

'Alright. Let's support Yasha.' He looked into his Pokédex. Purrloin's new move was ”Assist”. He had studied a lot, but he had no idea what that particular move actually did. But, it sounded good. Assist Lulu.

'Purrloin! Use Assist!' He said in frightened exitement, and Purrloin looked back at him like he was an idiot.

'Purr...' ”Nevermind, then.” She turned around and dashed. Since Rowan didn't have any other Pokémon, Assist would not do anything. However, naughty Purrloin had a different plan of how to ”Assist”. This was clearly not a strictly legal battle, so Purrloin was not going to treat it as one. Since her trainer was an idiot, she'd take matters into her own paws. A cruel little cat-smile appeared as she dashed, not for the Pokémon, but for the trainer.

Given the chance, Purrloin would jump and attempt using scratch-attacks against the trainers shoes and pants with fairly sharp claws. They'd be directed mainly against clothes and never directly against flesh, not really with the intention to actually hurt but certainly intending to keep him VERY distracted.

Assuming that Purrloin's angle was just an attempt to strike from an angle or a prerequisite for the attack, an unsuspecting Rowan instead focused on directing his Pokédex at the opponent's Pokémon. Know your enemy...

Derrik wiped some of the spit off his face that showed disgust.'This Gat being a right mongrel he is, covering me in this bush oyster.Turning his head to glare at the ghastly who seemed to be sleeping with the way he just hovered there.

Picking the hat off his head to shake off the excess of ghost boogers as he saw Eric break up into countless pixels; watching how they spread out to do different things. He was fascinated by the concept of this hologram and wondered how it worked, but could figure it took some highly advance tech that would just go over his head.

Pondering over this when the low click of wheels caught his attention to see that Professor Evergreen had entered the room. He listened to what she said and couldn't help but leer at his ghastly before letting out a scoff.'Ah I've dealt with plenty of wild poke who were far more of a stubborn arse. Making a cobber out of him will be a piece of piss I reckon. A shrug of his shoulder, thinking to not force it for the time being and turned his attention back to the professor.' Well I can't thank ya enough for all this. Know I'll find a way to repay ya and that's a promise.'Giving a big smile as he held out a hand to shake.' And don't forget to give me oldies a ring.' He started to turn towards the ghastly, but stopped mid-way after recalling something on his mind.' Right, before we head out, mind if I ask where the mart is? and what route be good to start with to find rare pokes and what not?'A raised eyebrow as he asked these questions; being used to exploring the wild and it was best to always be prepared before venturing out.

"Sorry, this bridge here is under the protection of The Red Hand. You won't be crossing, for free. The toll is 600 Pokedollars per trainer and 100 for each Pokemon. If you for some reason can't afford the toll, then it looks I'm gonna have to beat what you have out of you."

"Ya know, y'all mouth stinks from all the Tauros patties ya spewin'. This is a public route is it not?" Yasha asked, his hands in his pockets. Mara's eyes widened, surprised at the violent and antagonizing tone. She hadn't expected it from him. In all honesty, she would have been perfectly content to pay the 700 pokedollar toll fee. She could afford it.

And she didn't really see the point in fighting the man--she knew know why people weren't coming into Dewmeadow. That was it. There wasn't a heroic bone in her body--but there also wasn't a nefarious one.

"Ya just another thug like Team Rocket aren't ya? Preyin' on the weak and gettin' fatter and fatter like a Magickarp too big for its pond. And ya know what? Just like'em, scum lika ya need to be put down. Lulu, Quick Attack!"

"Yasha..." Mara murmured, throwing an uneasy glance over at Rowan. 'Wait, Yasha! H-he might be too... powerful...'

Nodding a bit, Mara bit her lip. The Red Hand crook had to have been effective, as no one had managed to beat him yet, and chase him off from the bridge. She looked down at the swirling waters bellow, imagining that the dancing shadows beneath the waves belonged to Cass, the merchant, and anyone else who would try to enter Dewmeadow.

Looking up, she saw Rowan send his purrloin to...attack the criminal?

Huh.

The strategy was... fascinating.

And clearly, from the man's previous tone, he wouldn't hold back either. He likely wouldn't stick to the rules, and would use his own pokemon against her. Just by looking at the odd crab like thing, Mara knew that she wouldn't want to touch it -- and neither would Kira.

"Kira, use leer!" Mara directed, before adding, "on the opposing pokemon, not the trainer!"

The Red Hand

Charley

Dewmeadow

@Hatakekuro

Yanma was the first to attack with its blinding speed, covering the distance with ease. The wind howled, combining with the bug's battle cry, heading straight towards the crustacean. Charley watched the comet flying towards his Pokemon and yelled "If it flies, it cries. Tank the hit, then use Rock Blast." The crustacean nodded and attempted to retreat into it's shell. Yanma was too swift and hit with precision, expecting a triumphant impact. Yanma instead hit the rock on it's back with a dull thud, barely doing any damage.

-It's not very effective-

The crustacean then proceeded to hurl multiple rocks at Yanma, who will have to try to avoid it at point blank.

-Crustacean used Rock Blast-

Charley smiled at how easy it was, like taking candy from a baby.

@PlatinumSkink

It was then that Purrloin came rushing in, but not aiming at his Pokemon. Caught off guard by such a bold tactic, Charley's shoes and pants were quickly shredded into strips of fabric by Purrloin's sharp claws. With his attention distracted, he figured Yanma would fall pretty quickly. With a swift motion of his torn boot, he kicked the cat in it's face, looking to send the small Pokemon flying away from him back towards her trainer. Agitated by being in a swamp with junked boots, they will pay for this.

Wiping the sweat off his face, Charley said, "Aiming for a trainer? I'm impressed, now you will have to pay for my destroyed clothing in addition. I guess I'll have to add one of your Pokemon to the debt you owe me."

Rowan, deciding that the best idea is to use his Pokedex, scanned the mystery Pokemon. With a beep, it responded in it's usual voice:

"Dwebble - It makes a hole in a suitable rock. If that rock breaks, the Pokémon remains agitated until it locates a replacement."

@Morose

Among the quickly growing action, Mara ordered her Espurr to use Leer. Out of the corner of it's eye, the crustacean saw a new level of anger from such a cute Pokemon. It was a momentary distraction, not enough to shake it's aim on Yanma though. Without a new order from it's trainer, it remained focused on the flying bug in it's face.

SUZUKI YASHA

Pokedollars: 500

Team: Lulu the Yanma
Level 7
Moves: Tackle, Foresight, Quick Attack
Status: Normal

Oh shit, Quick Attack wasn't strong enough to hurt this pokemon and even more so it started to hurl rocks at Lulu at point black. Yasha gritted his teeth and yelled out, "Get outta there!" Perhaps Lulu and Yasha were lucky; Lulu's Speed Boost kicked in and with an extra burst of speed she flew back though not without taking a hit from one of the rocks. The Yanma grimaced, facing a quad weak hit though still survived though it was only from sheer luck.

He was surprised that Rowan's Purloin was using such dirty tactics. Sure, Rowan ordered the cat pokemon to Assist though this wasn't exactly the kind of assist he was thinking of probably. Yasha glared at the opponent, watching him kick Rowan's precious pokemon and wanting to take their pokemon from him. What could they do against that pokemon, Dwebble was it? It's own body was protected by a rock...wait, that's it!

"Now come out from under and use Quick Attack!" It was idiotic to do the same thing again, which was absoluetly stupid since it hardly do any damage though Lulu wasn't going to question him in this kind of situation. She dashed straight towards the Dwebble with even greater speeds due to her Speed Boost ability in conjunction with her Quick Attack. Yasha was counting on his opponent to order his Dwebble to tank the hit once more. It had to work, they needed it to work. Once in range Yasha shouted out in a split second, "Now grab its rock and throw it in the river!"

"Yan!" Lulu cried out and instead of hitting the Dwebble, the massive dragonfly pokemon swooped down to grab the rock. If this succeeded, Lulu would've grabbed hold of the rock and tossed it far out in the river, leaving the Dwebble exposed to all types of attacks.

"Aiming for a trainer? I'm impressed, now you will have to pay for my destroyed clothing in addition. I guess I'll have to add one of your Pokemon to the debt you owe me" the goon laughed, kicking purrloin. Hatred boiled within Mara-- no one messed with pokemon! It was cruel, cruel beyond belief! Rowan's pokedex began spitting out information about the dwebble, inspiring Yasha for his next course of attack. Feeling useless, Mara remained motionless, struggling to come up with a strategy--with a way to be useful.

Wait a minute...

Mara grinned like a Cheshire Cat, looking down at Kira. If Kira wasn't able to intimidate the dwebble sufficiently, perhaps she could do one better...by intimidating the thug! Besides, Rowan had already started attacking the man--and it wasn't like he was a particularly nice person. He deserved this.

And if the professor was terrified of Kira, hopefully the thug would be as well.

"Kira! Use leer on the trainer this time!" Mara ordered.

Kira stared at Mara for a moment, as if he was questioning her life choices. Mara nodded again, demonstrating how serious she was taking this. Kira turned around, almost looking completely done, before glaring at the thug, using leer as best as he could.

Vuduin Alimore

Vuduin grinned sheepishly, "Oops, sorry." It wasn't like he'd be handed a rulebook! Well, excpet the Pokedex which probably had it listed in there somewhere. Any more thoughts on the matter were interupted by the exciting struggle going on. Poochyena was unable to escape the grasp of Machop so Budew had no choice but to take out both of them. It was a shame but it put them ahead in the battle. Now all he had to do was...! How had? And the? What the? Vuduin stared for a moment at the Magikarp that had descended from the heavens like a meteor to collide with his Budew. "B-Budew!" His precious Pokemon had once again been knocked to the floor. But this whole fight had been nothing but energizing for Budew, surely he could push just a little further. "Absorb on that Magikarp! If you can't do that... just Absorb everything! Come on Budew, do for it for our first battle together!" Vuduin wasn't sure exactly how Absorb worked. Whether or not Budew had to be standing, to see his target, or just use it on everything in his vicinity were things beyond his understanding. But he knew that Budew could win, so that was all that mattered!
