Scout turned around to look over the other side of the roof, just in time to see someone running over to the place. Specifically, a red-haired girl dragging a guy in a suit by his leg while being chased by a buttload of skeletons. There was also another green-haired girl nearby, who had already begun talking to them.

Gaige didn't drag Hildibrand anywhere. She just pulled him out of the ground then ran for cover. Also the Stalchildren won't come into the Ranch so if Scout is on one of the roofs he shouldn't be able to see them.

Also the trees around Gourd Lake aren't dead. It's a national park, there is at least enough upkeep to keep the trees living.

A second look around turned up definitive signs of life in the form of several individuals not too far away from the cows’ pen in which he currently stood. At this distance, he couldn’t quite make heads or tails of what a couple of them were wearing. Of the two men and three women, three wore outfits somewhere between formal and downright weird. Only after a few seconds did he notice the skeletons. ”Blimey! They’re just loike the skele’ons in the Halloween store! Those can’t be real…?” He watched for a moment with growing unease as a couple of those present turned to fight off the skeletons, one in particular blasting away with several guns. Though Birdie could not count himself a man of astute learning, he guessed that the woman with the firearms stood at least as tall as him. Wot a freak… he thought, unknowingly insulting himself.

If Birdie is in the central area of Lon Lon Ranch he couldn't see the stalchildren as there is a bend in the path. Hildibrand is not yet with the group in Lon Lon ranch and Red and Bayonetta are actually somewhere near the Hyrule Castle Gate. The people that Birdie could see right now are Gaige, Terra and Scout. No one is fighting stalchildren.
