@Superman@Savato@Karamonnom Would it be farfetched to assume that besides our powers, our creators have given us an increased understanding and learning rate?

I understand the fun in 'introducing newborns into the world' and shit and yes that's extremely fun, but if we have to detail every learning experience 20x over before our character grasps it that would mean...

I have to read a dictionary over and over.

@BuddhaI am Superman, so do not question that, ahem. Superman's phone however is not quite as strong. And needs to quit its shit and start charging before I throw it.

Anyways, actual newborns have a highly increased ability to learn and understand information, process it, etc. This is why at a younger age it is easy for children to learn more languages. Yes, our chars know the basis of many things, since they are newborn they would have a period, although it maybe shorter, that they would retain and collect information rather well. Since, well, besides basic knowledge, there isn't a lot inside their head already.

Once enough information is collected the process to acquire new information will be slightly harder and longer and rely soley on the type of person they are when it comes to learning.

This isn't to say that your char can pick up a dictionary and memorize every word in it at the moment, but he would take more out of it than he would normally, memorize a few more words and definitions, etc. So, you would have to choose wisely what skills and information your char learns at the beginning.

Granted this is my interpretation only, I don't know how the other GM's feel, but this is just my idea of it all. To give you an answer, and my opinion on the subject.

@Buddha@Superman They already have notions of what most adults would have: Manners, gait, self-consciousness. One can't say they'll learn like newborns. But being exposed to a particular circumstance/fact will emerge the already existing, common knowledge they have on said things. The more they learn, the more this branches out and they associate ides with each other. Considering the amount shit they're learning at once here and make sense out of, it won't be too long before most of their behavior is engaged in a ;manner you'd expect from people their age.

@Savato Well I was just considering if one of the chars might want to specialize on a certain subject, give or take, as we differ in what specific knowledge we have that not everybody would know, so to say. How do you think that would work then, since they may not have been born with that information. How would they take literal brand new facts?

@Superman Like anyone else.

I mean if you want them to specialize in something then you can just say they're attracted to said field of study. Of course, let's not bullshit this to people suddenly becoming nuclear scientists. Okay except for Ryo's char maybe.

Wanna be a doctor? Go ahead.

They learn as anyone else does. So I assume some basics would be easily acquired if they so happen to be particularly attracted to that field.

@Superman You should stop saying 'this is just my idea' lol. You're a GM man. Act like it. If Savato or Kara disagrees later, they'll write a reply to me and you and explain. Otherwise, I'm taking your word for it.

So my character could learn some languages if I felt like it? Seems like an interesting angle to take.

@Buddha Your character can also already know some languages. Parkinson has a brit accent after all.

The issue I would have with that would be the special snowflake factor. It's already high enough here sooo ... Just don't make them know Japanese or some shit. Pls.

@Buddha I just like to clarify and not step on any toes, and make assumptions by myself. You know? Just keeping my bases checked. Instead of saying something and they're like "Yo, wtf. When did we ever agree on this. Are you on crack?" XD

@Savato Well I assumed so, yeah. I just think it would put them mentally at a disadvantage to other people their age, since they didn't get the how many other years to learn and it'll be a steep hill to climb. Being a doctor takes years. Years man. And they might not live that long as far as they're concerned haha. Which is why I asked.

But *shrugs* I guess that's the price to pay for having super powers

Here's an interesting question.
I know it might be spoilers or something, but like, is it possible that our guys have their engineered minds implanted with some sort of override codes? You know, some MK-ULTRA shit, when a scientist speaks a specific word in a specific tone and the brainwashed target that hears it immediately falls asleep or has a seizure or turns into basically a zombie. As a security measure or something.

@Keksalot I doubt it. The safety measure are their collars that can fry their brains, shock them, and take away their powers.

@Keksalot I'm not a GM, but I'd assume that at that point, the facility's staff would just start shitting their pants.

@Keksalot The facility has probably thought about this very in depth and should not be of a concern to you as of yet. Bottom line, you won't be getting out of those collars and they will not malfunction any time soon. They were specifically made to avoid these issues. And if all else fails, they are in a secret underground facility. With loads of weapons and technology. It'd be hard enough to get out, let alone living through it or surviving on your own, let alone getting off the island. Finally: This place is worse than Fort Knox for these guys right now.

Besides, Hercules would be more than happy to beat the shit out of anybody and drag their unconscious body back c:
