I'm getting really hyped over stuff Carmen's probably not ever going to be able to bring to light in the roleplay but doing all this searching has lead to some cool stuff and

I really hope he gets a chance to use this for practical reasons

I'm feeling really overwhelmed by the amount of power that some of these new or changed characters have. I chose a slightly weaker character, and then there's people with:
The ability to control what everyone else thinks, which is MIND CONTROL
The ability to absorb sources of heat, which life itself depends on and is everywhere, from TWO DIFFERENT GEMS
The ability to acutely predict the future
The ability to acutely predict the near future
The ability to be, practically, undamageable
MIND READING CARNELIAN WHAT WHY PLEASE NO
The ability to slowly turn someone into a corrupted gem upon contact

And then, New Emerald. He can blind you for a little bit, if he gets right in your face, in which case he would be very die.
Oh, and, if he is super peeved, you might get on fire, a little. Woo.
And you could probably get him to fight for you by the time he could maybe pose a threat. Or just yell "Stop!"

So Halting statement made me look over the gem powers again and I have a problem with only three.

1: @Guardian Angel Haruki The brainwashing poison is too much. Being able to control a gem's every action is not going to work. Especially since, in essence, she could force a gem to just kill itself and be done with it.

2: @Vocab I'm not sure how you plan on using this power but the only way it wouldn't be overpowered is if the emotions were mental suggestions. If the gem is already happy, forcing it to be sad would be impossible. On the other hand, if a gem is already feeling kind of "meh" it would be easy to make them sad or irritated. Already sad or irritated? Make them down right depressed or enraged.

3: @HaltingBlooper I only have a problem because it is relatively weak. Since he's a newborn it makes sense, but eventually his power should get strong enough to pierce a gem's physical form and possibly poof them.

@Kronshi I was thinking Gembone's senses would come to a point like that once they got better control of their senses so I guess Topaz'll just always be ahead of the game? *Shrugs* I'm alright with it so I won't ask for it it change, but ye.

@Kronshi I can't remember how I planned to use it exactly, but I think I planned on using it as suggestion. I believe I was going to do it sort of like a scaling system, where certain music would change how a person feels a certain number of levels on that.

So if they were happy, she could play something and make them feel a wee bit down. And then, of course, every other person who heard it would feel a bit down, or worse/better, depending on how they felt at the time and what she played.

But, of course, she's a Newborn, so I might start it off that her ability isn't properly formed yet, and therefore isn't currently present. ^-^

I got a sciance question, how tough do you think gems are on the average? I get that warrior type gems would be tougher than say a pearl or a peridot, but have we ever been given a good estimation on just how strong the body is or the gem itself for that matter? I'm sure back in the good ol' day of swords and medical malpractice the Gems would have a distinct advantage over normal people. But what about one for one, how would a gem stack up to an assault rifle? Or even just a generic pistol?

These are the questions I wonder, without the science knowledge to figure out myself.

@Pathfinder Human firearms simply don't have enough sharpness to pierce a gem's body. In fact, the only human weaponry that could hurt a gem would be explosives.

I just understood a horrifying fact about Circe's ability...

If she ever practiced enough to centralize her shockwaves within an object, instead of only through a medium such as air or water, she could mess up a human's internal organs really bad...

@KronshiWell, Super-Sadie killed a corrupted gem with a sharpened stick. Then again, corrupted gems tend to either be really weak or really strong. Also, I think that bullets would HURT a gem, but probably not poof it. Just because of the force of the bullet.

Also, New Emerald shall now be referred to in OOC as Emerald/Emorld Jr.

@Kronshi I wasn't planning on having the brainwashing be that powerful. I was thinking that the poison wouldn't work if Carnelian is making them do something that would go against their morals/values, and/or would make them hurt the people they care about (like teammates and themselves, so having them commit suicide was definitely off the table already). I was thinking that Carnelian would use that more for making an opponent flee or stop their attacks or forget something.

Is this ok?

See, that's where I disagree. At least partially. We only have one example of gems cracking shown and that was when Amethyst fell off the cliff, assuming she's not some super dense being she would have fell about the same speed as a person give or take. And sure, she landed on a rock but that force is nothing near the force of a bullet careening through the air. Then we have the poofing of Pearl, sure you could make the case that the Holo-Pearl was super strong and thus could push the sword through Pearl, but even then the right ammunition would do. The only thing I see that would be able to shrug off small arms fire would big fusions like Sugilite and Sardonyx.

@Guardian Angel Haruki That's fine. It just didn't appear to have limitations.

@Pathfinder When it comes to Amethyst cracking, the blunt force dealt directly to her gem would be equal to that of an explosive from that height. Something a bullet simply cannot match. And Holo-Pearl, being a Hologram which pretty much all the gems and there weapons are, would have had a blade as sharp as gem weaponry and would therefore be able to pierce Pearl's physical form. Firearms simply do not have the capability to injure a gem nor do any other human weaponry (besides explosives). Now, whether you agree with it or not, because there is no definitive to what a gem can take, me and Akaya have agreed that only gem weapons could hurt a gem because they are far superior.
