@Kafka Komedy Er... lessee, spell to produce a bullet, spell for bullet-pushing shockwave, spell for smoke and noise... you're not wrong, but in defense, the only one of those which is specifically intended to be reasonably powerful is the wind spell. The bullet producing spell might be a slight drain on resources per projectile produced, but I imagine the fire spell would be barely noticeable as far as stamina drain goes, and that's optional anyway.

@BCTheEntity So then like 1.5 times the stamina of a regular spell? 1 for wind, .4 for metal, .1 for fire? That seem fair?

@Kafka Komedy Sure. So... you're still not wrong about it costing more than a regular spell. Ah, well. Anyway, I'll see about getting the rest of her character sheet sorted out soon.

Added Shamus to the character list.

How many more are we waiting for and did we ever decide on a starting idea for the group?

@Delta44 I don't believe so. Move her over.

@Orion We're waiting for @MauveMarauder and @Bishop, but assuming they don't show, there is another person that may be interested in this. Hell, even if that person doesn't show up either, we still have enough people to start. I'll give them a day or two, mainly so I can finally do that "Important NPCs" thing.

As for a starting point, I believe Footman suggested everybody was in the same town when some Glanz troops attacked and they all realized they had the same goal.

@Kafka Komedy Addisson is neither she nor he until such a time can be confirmed as to his or her true nature can be verified. Please refrain from referring to Addisson as a "she", when it has not been proven so.

... I'm kidding, call him/her whatever you like XD Moved over! :D

I'd be happy to make the starting post if it makes it easier for everyone to get into the game? Though you might wanna do it, being Gm n all? I aint fussed.

In any case, if I were to start, it'd go something like this:

Izerk has just entered the town, the first since he has stepped foot in the country. Up until now he's only passed small villages and a few minor outposts. As he enters, he takes note that a bunch of villagers are being walked off to the gallows. Women and children among them.

As he is looking for individuals who are seeking an end to the war, he'd see this as a great opportunity to see if any good souls exist in the town. Instead of intervening himself (I mean they're not his peoples anyway), he'd stick to the sidelines and wait to see if anyone stepped forwards to prevent the butchery. Those that did, he would assume are people who can't take the war's mindless slaughter anymore, and he'd jump in to help them - and then announce his intentions at the battle's end.

But I'm just spit balling here. Mayhap some others got a better way to kick things off?

@Footman I bet a certain coin-loving thief would spoil those plans immediately XD

"Wait, so you didn't save them for the sake of saving them? Then why did you do it?"

"Bargaining power."

Well you could drag the thief in that way, however I'm not sure if anyone else would be as easily tempted to save a bunch o' randoms, save for Shamus, maybe.

@Footman A good idea, but @Delta44 brings up an important point. More than half of the cast aren't really heroes. They're mercenaries. Maybe after the battle Izerk wagers some money for the help and the mercs hear him? We have to create a situation where even if you were just looking out for yourself, you'd intervene.

EDIT: Maybe someone hired all the mercenary-type people to intervene already, and since those who aren't mercs are generally good, they'd probably hop in too?

EDITX2: In fact, I believe I've figured it out. A mysterious benefactor will have payed a few mercenaries (the not-good PCs) in advance to stop the executions. A few heroes (the good PCs) hop in. Afterwards, said mysterious benefactor then gathers our heroes and the adventure begins.

I am cool with any opening. Shamus will be working in the town that is the starting point. He will act with righteous indignation if any of the townsfolk are threatened unfairly.

Edit: with his firebrand political views it might even be him due for execution. Local lord getting rid of subversive elements.

@Kafka Komedy Works for me; it'd be nice to have a planner, too XD Maybe they can also be a mage or somethin', because we're missing one of those :P

@Delta44 Kait takes great offense to that! She's trying to be a mage super duper hard, she just ain't there yet, alright?

But yeah, Mysterious Benefactor will be staying away from the action. When one focuses on learning the lay of the land and every legend there is to know, there isn't much time for studying Lapi, or any form of combat really.

@Kafka KomedyMaybe we all happen to frequent the same tavern at the same time. Maybe after a long journey? Anyway, the tavern just so happens to be the main gathering place for the rebels. And it also just so happens that an important meeting is to take place that day. As the bartender is driving away every non Rebel creature for the meeting to start, an Imperial raid commences and our group is caught in the middle of it. They don't ask whether we're part of the Rebels or not, they straight out attack us, not caring. Many die and in the end our group and a few rebels remain. They introduce themselves as part of the Rebel Movement and after seeing how we fought against the Imperial Troopers ask us to join them. After that the rebels quickly retreat parting ways with our group. We go to another tavern or inn and discuss what happened while also getting to know each other.

Edit: Later, in the next village we pass through we see everything burning. Guards fighting with wildings who apparently claim to be Rebels. The "Rebels" burn everything, killing the villagers during the plundering. An Imperial soldier asks us to do our duty as citizens of the Empire and assist him on saving the village, fighting the wildings. After that he thanks us and after seeing how we fight, asks us to join the Empire then we depart.

This was just to balance things up. Sorry if I seem intrusive, I mean no offence.

@Kafka Komedy Sounds like a plan. At this point, I just need to write up Akella's character sheet, and then she'll be pretty much done. She's most likely acting as a mercenary or other combat-based role prior to the game's start, just because she needs money to survive in some form or another... maybe a bodyguard for somebody rich, but if she is a mercenary, maybe she's oddly well-known for one just as another parallel to Pyrrha. With that in mind, would she have been hired by this mysterious benefactor if she were a mercenary, or do you think it'd be more likely that she'd be there for her own reasons?

@BCTheEntity Well if she's a well known mercenary than I think it'd be more conspicuous to hire her. It all depends if she would naturally join up with the crew I guess. Your choice.

@Bishop Good to see you're here. Sorry, but the idea we're going with right now is a good way to rope in the MB. Also, we're not joining the Empire or the Rebels, we're just an adventuring party doing what's right.

So, just for clarification, do any of the mercenaries have information about their employer? Were the instructions given clear, or was it all vague and cryptic? Also, what time of day will all of this transpire?

@Kafka Komedy Well, she's certainly a good enough person to join up with the crew on her own. So, uh, it's entirely feasible she wasn't hired beforehand.

@Pink Snorlax The mercs know her first name, Linona, and what she looks like. The instructions she gave were direct, but didn't give much true info. "In the center of town, some executions will be going on at noon. Stop them."

EDIT: @BCTheEntity In that case, it's your choice. If you want my opinion though, I guess I'd say she wasn't hired.
