Yes, because the commander is a powerful unit even if he just sits back. So choose 2, even if one sits back.

Because if the commander could just sit back and support while 2 characters go out to fight, there would be no reason for everyone not to make a commander character to eek out some buffs from.

So, with this system, if a factions gets reduced to one agent left, they really can't do much of anything but try to kill enemy agents, yes?

There's no way this can happen, since characters revive 04 posts after they were killed (this ruling never changed officially). Unless of course people drop the RP again, then we can't do much about that.

For future reference, could one person potentially have two characters in the battle and one outside of it interacting with other non-combatants? For example, Torag and Sliske engaging an enemy while Marquis talks with the four he's currently with?

But for those four turns till their allies revived, they'd be out of luck, right?

Yes, as long as it's only talking that will not interfere with the battle under anyway. This has been decided by the three of us just now.

So, who in the Angelic Strategy Meeting wants to say "Oh hey, we got new intel. The goal isn't control of some central point, but overall territory control and artifact retrieval. So, let's split up into two teams of two and move out and make like magpies."

I've got you, I'll have a courier run in and hand Torag a letter and a map. Will post up later tonight.

Dora would want in on that meeting too. I'm sure you'd all want to hear about the secret weapon she's got cooking up and how she intends to use it.

Just a notice to everyone, people. You can do your planning, obviously, but do it IC. We had a lot of trouble early on the RP because of OOC planning (secret one, even).

Let us try to not repeat the same mistakes, right?

Are we aware of the other sides special moves? IE Omega sees the HMS Contender sail overhead and knows they need to GTFO of the room because depth charges.

No, you aren't aware of each other's special moves, otherwise the strategy element gets a bit FUBAR later on when they are needed.

If it was a land battle that might've worked, but unfortunately trap holes don't work too great underwater. Dora could rig up something around the nodes though, once she gets there with her ships.

@Awesomoman64

I don't think the Contender can fly, but if it does I think it's safe to say that you wouldn't want to be directly underneath it. Or around it. And that's before it starts shooting bombs at you.

No it can't. But as you pointed out this is an underwater battle. As in below the surface. Where the ship is floating. Above everyone else.

Ah, I see your point.

@The 42nd Gecko

Unless Angel's are packing torpedo's, I don't think we quite have the firepower to punch through the Contender's hull anymore than we did the Eliticor's. It's kinda of the Machina's gimmick to have these big, really tough to destroy mobile fortresses with them. Practically ever battle with a Machina force is a siege. Also while the angel's do have wings (Most do anyways, Dora doesn't), the Contender also has guns to shoot stuff out of the skies, and the skies are notably lacking in protective cover.

That's still moot to the debate of "who is above who".

It's not a necessarily good idea for the angels to fly, but if they want to, they can.

Also, I was refering angels as the species, not the faction.
