I see, well hopefully you guys sort out your differences and thanks for posting an update on the situation for Varromere. I don't know how accurate that is, but I'll trust you're telling the truth. I just don't want to see something he so hardly worked for squandered away because of poor communication with the players.

My doubts on joining didn't have anything to do with him but rather with me and if i'd have the time to be active enough in this RP.
Both me and Varo are currently students so we have rather irregular patterns when it comes to spending time on certain things, which leads to work piling up rather quickly sometimes.

@Angry Friend I hope you're going to be able to finish the app within a reasonable amount of time. While new players are rarely a bad thing as long as they're competent, it would reflect poorly on Varromere if he held the RP back for an extended period of time for the sake of one person.

And, as Ryu had mentioned, we have no way of knowing if you're telling the truth. Though I fail to see what you would gain from lying.

As for relations to other characters, I don't exactly have a very clear view of what your character is like from those bullet points. You might want to mention other people and see what they think.

Apologies for the (possibly) cold tone I seem to have. I hold no aggression towards you. I'm simply confused as to how you have time to post here and update Varromere's situation for him when you're supposed to be the one hard at work making an app, not him. A GM's lack of communication with players has ruined nearly every RP I've ever been a part of.

I'm honestly not too keen on seeing this trend continue.

Thanks a lot! And yeah, the sketchy feel is because it is was simply done really quickly. I just draw for fun, and drawing my character myself helps me get a unique feeling for them that I can't find otherwise on the internet. :^D

But on a more serious note, I'm sure Varromere is busy as we all are. I don't mind a small group, honestly. I'd rather have a few dedicated people than a large haphazard party. But a strong turn-out is always good. Since most RPs have their cast halved in a weeks time, it's ideal to build a sort of buffer for that sudden drop. People just lose interest and disappear. I don't mind him being busy, it's just I don't want him to randomly disappear and leave such a nice idea behind.

I'm surprised and fail to see why there is so much skepticism on whether i'm telling the truth or not. as you said, what would i gain by lying? I'd just anger Varomere if i lied about knowing him and would most likely not get accepted in the RP. Doing that would be sketchy as fuck.

I also fail to see how there is a lack of communication? I'm not posting in Varomeres stead, I simply posted and thought that i might as well include that piece of information. Simply because i could. there was no obligation for me to do it, i just did it.
Me not finishing is also somewhat irrelevant on whether he will post the IC or not. while i'm sure it had some impact on it i'm also sure it's not that big of a deal. If i'm not finished in time (which i'm sure he expects) He will find a way to include me into the story at a later time and i'm honestly completely fine with that.

and The reason i am able to post here is very simple, I don't work non stop on my character as that is simply counter productive for me. I need room to think and collect my thoughts in order to come up with ideas that i like and I want my character to be able to fit into Varomere's world which is the exact reason i'm talking to him so much about my character.
you seem to forget that this is the primary reason that people RP in the worlds of other people, because they like the world. As such i want to know alot of it in order to make my character fit in well. and THIS is exactly the sort of communication a GM should have with his players. you should know this for you discussed your characters relation with the keeper of flames at length over PM.

and frankly yes I do feel a bit taken aback and insulted by this. I never expected this seemingly arrogant and frankly entitled behavior from people that I don't even know.

Let me just finish this by saying that i'm taken aback but that there are also no hard feelings. I think we just got off on the wrong foot and should forget about this whole ordeal, now.

@Angry Friend Glad there's no hard feelings, but I wouldn't describe what was said as an "ordeal". Though my tone was very frank, I encourage you to go through exactly what I said one more time. Everything was carefully worded and perfectly neutral, and no one here ever doubted that you were telling the truth. There's nothing to be "insulted" or "taken aback" about.

And entitled? Arrogant? This RP is as much the player's as it is the GM's, and we all have a right to express our opinions regarding our feelings on the current course it's taking. That's one of the whole reasons an OOC exists.

My personal skepticism for Varromere's lack of communication is that going through his posting history reveals at least two other RPs that also never got off the ground. It's not a very great track record, but I truly had a feeling that this would become a memorable RP, so I gave this world he's created the benefit of the doubt.

This recent silence has caused me to become more guarded, and reasonably so. My friend and I put very real effort into creating our characters so we could become a part of this world. I wouldn't be saying anything at all if I didn't have strong feelings for this RP and wanted to see it succeed. Varromere seems like an excellent GM, but the sudden disappearance mirrors the course his others RPs took.

And I'll admit, when you seem to arrive here out of the blue admitting that his silence was caused by you, I wasn't sure how to react. The OOC was created almost a week ago, and the interest check a while before that even. Unless you only just found out about this RP a day or two ago, you had more than ample time to create your app and work with Varromere on it, even for someone who likes to take things slow.

I mean, technically we could get started, or at least integrate the stream of new CSs which seem to be popping up.

So, a minor update: this is my last semester at university, and this is my last wave of in-semester assignments and presentations. I will admit, I did anticipate being occupied by school, but I over-estimated my ability to juggle everything and I've been quite tired with it all. 5,000 word essays, all-nighters and a lot of caffeine will do that to a person. So I take responsibility for my absence, and hope that you're all still interested in continuing.
