K, so how are we going to manage power?

Say, if my God is the God of Destruction, then what limitations do I have on how much I can destroy? Are we going to think of a level/stat-based system, or are we just going to do this on a case-by-case basis and "go with the flow"?

Since their Gods, go as far as you want, but if there is anything that I deem 'Too much' or 'too op' I will tell you how you can nerf it. In other words, go nuts. their is one thing I forgot to mention in the CS, and that are vulnerabilities. Basically things similar to the vampire/demon-itus. If your an evil-like God naturally something of light would burn you, or vice versa. Things like that. It could be something less evil-good though, like being water-melt-able

Ah. I see.

I just worry that someone with a God of Destruction might destroy everything everyone created, or a God of Corruption might fuck everything up. But fair enough: good GMing should prevent that, so long as we all stay vigilant of god-modders (hehe) and such.

I'll probably be going with a God of Spirits.

Its the Job of the good Gods to make sure the OP bad gods don't ruin shit. Which heroes especially will be bestowed to do. The limit I have is around Cthulu level or semi-planet buster at best, so long as its possible to prevent them from destroying everything and being able to be defeated.

Question: what's the rule on magic? B/c I'm thinking that I may just go with a Goddess of Magic, rather than Spirits.

That's really up for you, As the God of magic you can decide how it functions, at least for the majority of magic anyway. For reference without a God of Magic in this world you would have mostly Lord of the Rings style of magic.

Should be noted that God powers and Magic are two different things.

Hello!

Someonewhat tempted by this RP and have a inkling to create a Goddess of Law and Order. However do you have any more information on the event that caused widespread chaos and the state of the world now? It would be quite important to how I'm going to develop this character.

Well, then I think we'll need a Chaos god. Any takers?

At one point in the golden age of the world, hell slowly started to descend on earth. First came the smoke that concealed the realm from the sun, darkness and cold spreading throughout the land as a result. Madness sprung from many mortals, violence occurring from cities to nations. Most of the plants and animals started to die off at this point.

It is uncertain who was responsible, but many point to the malevolent Gods who took full advantage of the chaos to destroy, pillage, and corrupt what was left of civilization. They too, however, were not safe from the chaos. Tears in the earth, unnatural disasters such as floods and massive tornadoes, and rebellion caused casualties on all sides. When the smoke faded, almost all was gone. The earth was a desolate wasteland aside from a few locations that miraculously survived the disaster.

And figuring out how this happened is up to us? Nice.

How about a god of sorcery along side the god of magic? Or like Dragon Lance, a god of good magic, evil magic and neutral magic?

As long as their is a clear distinction between the two domains, then yes. Like for example, one is more like witchcraft using wands, rituals, and sorts for its hexes and invocations, while another is more hands on shooting fireballs out of your hand type magic.

Uh-oh.

Well, I was planning on becoming the primal source of all magic in the universe, meaning that there couldn't be any form of magic that didn't originate from my Goddess.

However.

We could probs work something out. Lemme know what sort of magic/sorcery you want to create, and we could probably figure out a way to coexist.

Close enough :P

But one could argue that OCD is both a madness and very orderly (and thus not chaotic), but its still a super cool idea. Crazy Gods are best Gods.

Dormammus

God of Sorcery, God of Conjuration

Domain: Sorcery And Conjuring

Personality: Dormammus is not just powerful in his sorcery. He is a god of great knowledge and thundering personality. He is the god who understands the spirits he has created. Dormammus is a mighty creature full of power and strength beyond mortal will. Those who question him will receive his knowledge, and he loves to instruct mortals in the ways of higher knowledge.

Vulnerabilites:
Dormammus is unlikely to be harmed by steel or iron, but iron lessens the power of his magic. Hence why many magicians refuse to wear armor. Using a sword will not likely hinder their powers, but being clothed in armor of metal will most likely require intense training to use magic inside it. Those wearing iron and steel armors will receive less harm from sorcery, though they can still suffer from the effects of magic, especially if the armor is sufficiently covering their entire body.

Influence: Dormammus is greatly feared and loved, but more feared than loved. He grants powers to those who seek him out, magicians who aren't born with their talents often seek him out for knowledge of how to control their powers.

Culture/Religion Influence: ,

Powers: Dormammus has the body of a dragon, the body of a living fire, and the body of a phoenix, and he is very mutable, from the aforementioned forms of his godhood, to a normal Human being. As the god of Sorcery and Conjuring, his powers are based on magic-use, or being magical. Sorcery is the magic of energy manipulation from different sources. Mortals must use and/or create a magical object to use their powers, most often books, but sometimes wands, staves, rings or cloaks. Sorcery also uses spell reagents such as roots, potions, salt, and other objects to power a spell. The spells combine the powers of objects and incantations for a specific effect the spell caster wishes, for example, if they wished to transform into a dragon, they might need dragon scales, coal, ash, a phoenix feather and a drop of blood, in addition to powerful incantations and hand gestures.

Conjuring is different and involves the summoning of monsters or other forces such as elementals. Sometimes conjuring involves pacts with monsters or other creatures. Conjuring can involve taking of the attributes of monsters, or the complete summoning. Like sorcery, conjuring needs spell reagents and powerful magical spells. The difference between sorcery and conjuring is that sorcery is purely for personal power and the building up of magical energy for manipulation. Conjuring is inferior in terms of growing more like the monster one wishes to summon, but a sorcerer can never conjure a monster using sorcery.

The combination of sorcery and conjuration is called Wizardry.

Looking good, but you're missing a few things so I assume it isn't finished. You're still missing his personality, his cultural and religious influences (for instance, you would think wizards and such that use the power of his domain would try to gain his favor or revere to him in some way for luck at the very least).

As for his powers, you and Jeyma may want to collaborate on the differences between the two, and that may result in you changing his magic a bit, and also since there already is a dragon God I'm not sure if he should be able to have the form of a dragon, unless if you'd want a tale on him bargaining with Kilgarrah for a sample of his power. Otherwise it looks fine, be sure to update his opinions with each new character.

@dragonmancer

He's just possessing the form of a dragon. He might even BE a dragon if you're interested in having a brother or son.
