In a DnD session of 3.5 I killed my entire party by shooting down a red dragon with a ballista. It crashed upon them and mocked me until it died.

I sold all of their stuff and the dragon parts to retire to a manor in the mountains.

Had a lot of amazing moments over the last decades when it comes to RP - Most that stick out are the ones that make me laugh still to this day. Yet I think the best moment ever was at the end of an RP actually. I had hosted an RP called Death Of A Realm on another forum. It lasted for over a year and was just so complex, I wondered at times if I could really keep it going. It did and the day I made the final post for the RP bringing it to a complete end - It was just wondrous. To put so much time, with so many Rpers, and to actually complete it was Surreal. I was sad to see it end but there was a sense of utter joy to know the story had come full circle and ended because it was time for it to end, not because it died. I've completed a lot of Rp's over the years, but that one - that one was dearest to my heart and I will always remember that last post as one of my greatest Rp moments ever.

@boomlover Oh the post itself wasn't anything, hell it was over 10 years ago (the RP is still archived on the forum) - it wasn't my best work to say the least but the fact it came full circle was the thing that made it so memorable for me. When you put that much work into an Rp for 14-16 months between planning and RPing, and keeping it going with the same crew that long; it leaves a lasting impression.

Hhhh, for those in which I didn't enter a fight, I usually quit after some posts. Best part of the RP for me is the character creation. Same in Skyrim. I spent more time creating characters than actually playing the game.

(I have this distinct feeling I'm being monitored...)

Edit: On that note, the character that I had the most fun creating was a guy in Demon Hunter: Chicago RP.

I finally remembered while searching through my past RPs. I had a great Teleported-to-a-world-fantasy-large-group RP. It was going great but the GM was getting more and more busy with every day life things so he had to prematurely stop it. But it was superbly good while it lasted.

This is from a Roll20 campaign I GM'd with some internet buddies.

PCs get on helicopter.
Neo-Samurai attempts to commit sepiku because the PCs are betraying their organization.
Pilot NPC is deskplaming.
Crazy PC screams "YOUR WAIFU IS SHIT" at Neo-Samurai.
Pilot NPC gets pissed off and flies without him.
"Don't Stop Me Now" starts playing on the heli's loudspeakers.
Neo-samurai is left behind.
Neo-samurai desperately tries to cling to the helicopter.
Everyone on heli dances.
Cue laughter on voice chat.

I make very silly campaigns.

For me, my best two moments are connected, but occurred about a year or two apart from one another.

So, back on the old Guild Site I was a part of a large zombie survival RP set in The Walking Dead universe, but taking place on the West Coast. My character joined about a month after the roleplay actually began, just after the group of survivors had moved from their original safehouse to a new location. He was essentially among the first refugees to join the original, core group. Along the way he had kept a journal, chronicling the events of their rag-tag little faction.

That roleplay lasted for another year or two, dipping occasionally, and losing many of the original cast along the way. By the end, my character had become one of the primary political leaders of the group, had gotten engaged to another survivor and adopted an orphaned boy as their son. But the roleplay was winding down, and needed some sort of a conclusion. Eventually it was decided that the story would end with the vast majority of the characters stranded on the roof of a school while the horde clambered up the stairs, allowing a few others to escape and live another day. We left it at a cliffhanger.

It was revived for about a couple months after that. My character was one of the few to have survived the battle at the school, but he had gotten bitten not a few weeks later. Struggling against the infection, he ran away from the rest of the survivors, holed himself up in a warehouse and began to go insane, writing constantly in the journal. In the end, he succumbed. His death was probably the saddest moment I'd ever written, while also being one of my favorites.

About a month later, the site crashed.

Fast forward a year or so. A few people from the original RP were still around, and we rebooted it for a third installment. I played a new character (obviously). In his possession was another man's journal, a battered old thing he had looted off the body of a walker he found while looting a warehouse. A flashback showed the moment when my new character came across the remnants of my old character and had to end his life yet again. On the bright side, a part of him was able to live on in the journal.

The gayest ending ever for an epically convoluted RP on this site with @Mr Allen J and @Zombiedude101. \( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)/

...Also, I quite enjoyed the fight scene of a sniper rifle versus a 2-meter scythe with @RyuHll (until the craziest cutest girl in the RP decided to crash the party).

Thanks, you weaboo son of a bitch.

On another note I was just digging up some old screens from a Multi Theft Auto RP Community I used to be a part of for a slavic character named Iosif, who was a member of a syndicate of arabs and eastern europeans.

Was good, especially when we found some weirdo cannibal killers in the woods and buried them for it: imgur.com/a/utKow

Hm, I have a lot of these, and I've been linked excellent stories from various /tg/ threads. Let's see.

There's the time a friend of mine in an rp I was not in turned a tank into a group of velociraptors with chaos magic.

There's the time my char Wyatt got eaten by a dragon (actually a metal robot powered by a captive god, but...it's complicated). This resulted in another party member realizing just how much he cared for Wyatt, and asking him out. I should note that Wyatt has been consumed by multiple things including a jelly, a toon shark (more than once -- it makes sense in context) and said dragon. Oh, and a toon...was it a squid? Octopus? Something like that.

There was that time two characters had a surprise wedding. ...Let me explain. We had some timeline stuff and history got changed, but people from the old timeline didn't have the memories of the new timeline. /Lots/ of things changed, including various characters' temperaments in the past, but it didn't affect the transferred characters. So apparently the parents were worried about...I don't even remember, possibly an illegitimate heir (groom was an earl and it mattered), and apparently the couple was less cautious about taking precautions. Also they (their new timeline selves) had been involved in planning said wedding, but the two from the old timeline didn't know about it, because they hadn't gotten around to doing it. So yeah...they were surprised by their own wedding.

There was that time we had a fangirl get access to the Tower, the seat of Harold's government. And by fangirl, I mean she shipped the President with his Head of Intelligence. Apparently there's a club. And fanfiction. ^.^;;

We have in-universe shipping in the current campaign too, but it helps that the party became nuclear terrorists by accident (crazed and vengeful spirit had a nuclear warhead we didn't know about and was trying to blow up a government meeting. We stopped her, but got in trouble anyhow) and then because we were facing a lot of difficulty because the nuclear war that the planet is still recovering from was only two centuries ago, a documentary was made about the party showing them as people and what we're trying to do. ...We're totally vigilantes though.

That one time my character became the avatar of a goddess by accident. She's not even religious!

It's not happy, but the time my one character got killed and then resurrected. Honestly Maxwell the squishy and stupidly altruistic doctor and sworn pacifist and Malie the invisible soul-eating demon who thought he would be easy to manipulate and ended up falling for him are an adorable couple. <3 There's also some ethical struggling because...well, pacifist plus souleater. ^.^;

There is the time the party faced snow fairies (nasty critters that will drive you insane or just kill you outright). They made the ground slippery, but Kat has high agility, so she actually did /better/ because her checks were so high they gave her bonuses to other actions. She has a low fight stat, but still managed to do four shifts of damage (a very solid blow) to one of them. With a jacket. Because it's totally an area attack when you throw a large, heavy winter jacket over something the size of your finger.

Then there was the time she rammed a dragon. With a tank. Of course it ended poorly because I asked to compel her trait "didn't think it through", but it was fun.

That one time Nikki (Kat before she had her name change and lost her nekomimi traits for a different worldsetting) hijacked a tank.

That time the same character accidentally turned two other characters into gods (powerful artifact designed to make gods. They were being careful, but they were wary of her, and accidentally got too close. Oops!)

Just about anything that involves Nikki/Kat is bound to be fun, actually. The whole adrenaline-junkie doesn't-think-it-through deal makes for an excellent way to get into trouble, and her love of pranks is icing on the cake.

The one time i outplayed the gm.

Perhaps if you got into a bit more detail, it would spur other people to join the conversation.

Anyway, there's something just totally awesome about outplaying the GM, isn't there?

One of my secondary characters was the emperor of a small country. The GM was pretty set on his villain dominating the entire world, and so my emperor guy had to die for the villain's complete control to happen. He didn't ask me if it was okay, he literally just said "Your emperor dude needs to die, let's collab on skype and make it happen."

It wasn't hard to pull my dragon emperor into a dangerous situation. The capitol was under attack, and his elemental magic put him on a tier high enough where he was the only person who could deal with this little crisis. Long story short, the emperor pretty much solo defended the capital, and then the GM made a soldier run up to the emperor and ask for further instructions. I knew this soldier was suppose to end the emperor's life. The GM made an effort to display the cunning of the enemy soldiers, who could shape shift into almost anything. It wasn't suppose to be widely known, but in an earlier post my main character told the emperor about their shape shifting abilities. I also made a point in previous posts to outline how the dragon emperor could "see" magic, which made it even easier for him to spot something like a wraith cloaked like a soldier. So I had the emperor promptly destroy the soldier, then proceeded to write an inner monolog where the emperor goes over everything that gave him the ability to spot the wraith. The GM was baffled, laughed in amusement, and decided that the emperor could survive the battle. The emperor actually survived the entire RP, and his country served as a base of operations for the heroes. He later admitted that killing off the dragon emperor would have been a mistake, and was glad he lasted till the very end.

@BrokenPromise nice story bro. Ok so with me the story goes as follows.

i'm playing as a dwarf in a holy order. My guy has just come from a gory battle and decided to take a break in a local hotspring.
So the gm contact me and wants to do a collab. In said collab a hot assasin lady sees me and is supirsed since she was suposed to meet someone on the exact same spot. So my character and the gms character talk to eachother and get a bit more comfortable. And then i offer the assasin lady some very nice brew. however this brew be dwarven. aka it will nock you the fuck out.
Which is what i did to said assasin lady when she drank it XD

Wow, holy order dwarf succumbing to base desires? That's...so raunchy. I almost regret asking now.

Yet at the same time, I need to know how the GM decided to deal with that. Did they try to get back at you, or did the assassin quietly disappear with the GM's dignity?
