@13orgoh yeah it was an interesting read, I had a character who is basically a toned down version of yours, makes a good precursor and teaser to the further down the timeline.
@13org@Cubix@Ace of flames01@Zetsuko Just trying to hear your opinions, do you all think we have enough people to start or should we wait for more? Either choice I have an intro post ready.
I'm good and ready to start. As what 13org stated, there are more chances of people joining if we start posting rather than just waiting for the thread to become inactive :c
I know I'm later that I said I would be and i don't have a post example yet but my computer just experienced the hardest crash of it's life, that happening after the guild went down(at least for me) delaying me by a day. So before anything else happens I'm going to put this up now so I don't have to suffer through any potential issues with it later...
Daemon Carlyle "Inhibitor"
Age: 38
Eye Colors: Blue
Personality: Daemon really has no opinion of the gifted one way or the other, viewing one like he would any other stranger. He's often friendly toward the team he's assigned to and does have a genuine care for them as teammates but he won't go much farther out of his way to 'get to know' them, not to say he'll keep the relationship strictly professional. He still does not hesitate to put down any of the gifted that attempted desertion from the DMA or turn on it's personnel.
Abilities: earning the name "inhibitor" for the gear he uses, Daemon employs a variety of tools and weapons designed to suppress or inhibit the abilities of the gifted. It's due to the experimental nature of this tech as well as the special training and implants needed for it to function that prevent deployment of a large number of such agents.
Bio: Most of Daemon's background is confidential for his security. He was part of a special forces unit that carried out operations in foreign countries as well as domestic territory. His unit was handpicked by [REDACTED] after their success in an unexpected gifted encounter during a mission. They were transferred to [REDACTED] where they underwent training with experimental gear and received implants that would link them with specialized armor. Out of the 10 that began training, only 6 made it all the way through. they were originally meant to be their own unit but due to the low number of operatives and the fielding of the DMA's own gifted agents they were repurposed, as well as any further operatives from this initiative, to act as handlers for the gifted squadrons. Daemon has recently been assigned to Thorne's unit.
Post Example:
Other:
Daemon's armor is designed to withstand most types of damage he could encounter against the gifted and the helmet links with a neural implant to make him resistant to the psychological effects of some gifted such as Agent Gray. similar bodily implants resist the effects of gifted such as Avis Kerch.
Daemon's rifle can switch between semi-auto high-caliber rounds for long-range and piercing light cover and fully-automatic fire with lower-caliber rounds for closer range engagements. It additionally has a tertiary fire an electrified snare to incapacitate a target, the snare effectively suppresses the abilities of a 'gifted' caught within(NOTE: some type 2 gifted capable of resisting suppression effects)
A recent development. The Suppression Pulse Matrix is an experimental pulse weapon. When activated the pulse will disorient nearby gifted and make is extremely difficult to use their abilities effectivly, and in type 1's it can completely suppress them.
Aside from his standard loadout, Daemon has been issues some additional equipment to handle his latest assignment.
-Armor mounted strobes, 1 line of three on each shoulder -Flashbangs
-Electromagnetic pulse grenade -MagTraps -ContProg dart: uploads program to RBT-180X's nanomachines on hit, program then spreads to other nanomachines and systematically shuts them down.
@13orgI'm thinking about having her be a fugitive that was on the convoy but escaped. We could have Dr.Carson reference those scavengers as where they the info on her if you want. From there we can start hunting her down. I'll set up the situation so your character isn't just sitting around waiting for us to find her.
Oh and zet, the part about shutting Nótt's nanomachines down is temporarily?
Because shutting them completely down would basically make her age as any human would, and it would be rather... difficult to repair her cybernetic parts...
The nanomachines aren't REEALY a power. The regeneration they provide is not instant, its basically 3 to 5 times faster than a human's, taking a good couple of hours to heal critical wounds. What you really should take care about her is the fact that even without her "nightmare" ability, and even with her speed hampered, she is still extremely fast and agile (as she isnt human anymore...)
Maybe you should include a chocolate dispenser on your armor... as she is completely crazy for chocolate
@TheDarkTemplar Sorry, sorry, Just got home from school now.
@13org Yeh it'd be temporary but it gives him time to track her down if she retreats and escapes.
Also, when i made that i thought you were gonna be part of the team from the beginning, but since you don't seem to be he wouldn't have those things yet.
As stated on the CSS, she is usually a pretty sweet and amicable 19 years old teen. Due to unknown circunstances, everything changes when she is in combat, or is given any mission/order that she agrees to complete.
