Mai Mei of Liang

Mai carefully gauged Niklas's reaction to the ornamental sword. Although he didn't let much of it show, Mai could tell that Niklas was touched by the gift, and she smiled inwardly. It had been her uncle's idea to give him the sword, seeing that he was very much involved with the military of his kingdom, but it had been Mai who'd decided on the specifics-the hilt, the scabbard, the blade, even small details like the length-that had all been her. It had taken a considerable amount of time, in all honesty, considering the fact that Mai had known next to nothing about ornamental swords before that, and to see that Niklas appreciated the effort was extremely gratifying.

He bowed and took hold of Mai's hand before she drew away completely. She watched with a mixture of wariness and fascination as he (very charmingly) thanked her for the gift and kissed her hand. He smiled brightly at her, and Mai couldn't help but return it, a genuine expression of happiness coming over her face. She studied Niklas as he brought the back of her hand to his lips-he looked like a scholarly, bookish individual, with a love of knowledge and a love for learning. If he hadn't been wearing his military uniform, Mai could honestly say that she would have had a hard time deducing that he was a soldier as well as a prince.

"I very much look forward to getting to know you as well," answered Mai sincerely, or at least, what passed as sincerely to Mai. "It shall be an interesting three months, yes? I do hope that we will have many other opportunities to spend in each other's company," she continued, before flashing him another smile and heading inside, her spiky heels click-clacking against the ground.

Mai had been a touch surprised to find that Niklas was truly as friendly as the reports said. Careful, now. He is very likely putting on a show for the other royalty and any onlookers, she chided herself as the lingering warmth of Niklas's lips on the back of her hand subsided. I will be able to better judge his character once we spend more time together, although I suppose that he has made a good first impression. That has to count for something, right?

Zheng's words came back to her. "Ming never would have betrothed you to somebody that he didn't approve of. " Mai felt slightly reassured, and then guilty for being so distrustful of Niklas after their first meeting. Old habits really did die hard.
Mai strode into the general area that the other princes and princesses had congregated in. She immediately spotted Isobel Martinez of Trèlins, her pink hair a bright flash of color even amongst the royalty from all over the world. Mai wondered where the hell Zhou was. If he was any later, he would miss the official welcoming window. I wouldn't be surprised if he does indeed miss the entire thing, Mai thought wryly. I suppose I'll try to reach him or Liu in a little while. If either of them will bother to reply to me, that is.

Next was Elizaveta Romonava of Noslainia, who was engaged in a conversation with a dark-haired young man whom Mai recognized as Nikolai Johanseen. Oh, right, they're betrothed to each other, she remembered idly, admiring the way that the Grand Duchess held herself. Her dress was casual but elegant. It reminded Mai of an earlier time in her life, when she was only a princess when nobody was looking. Life was almost simpler back then, and so Mai had dressed in a more simple fashion. Mai sighed. She had been many people in her time, from Xing Xing, the poor daughter of a farmer, to Yueyin, the wealthy niece of an educated businessman. Mai had wholeheartedly embraced her false identities, donning them like clothing as needed. Back when she was younger, when her uncle was merely the presumably dead brother of an oppressive ruler who had been overthrown, Mai had hidden her true identity in order to keep her head on her shoulders. Now, though, she had to prove to the entire world that she was a capable leader for a country that had been torn apart by war less than three decades ago. It was a daunting thought.

Mai eyed the two standing near the sweets table-one was Henry Peterson of Elaniel, the other Cara O'Brien of the Celtic Consortium. Henry and I are almost complete opposites, if the reports were accurate, Mai mused to herself. As for Cara...Mai had to admire the green dress she wore, even if she was slightly wary of her. Green is her color, like red and black are mine, Mai observed. Indeed, the gleaming green was the perfect complement to Cara's fire-infused hair.

Sade Magoro of Udawen wore a dress made of black fabric with gold embellishments on the top half. There seemed to be a perpetual spring in her step, even as she greeted Raven Willow and Niklas. That one is full of life, isn't she? Mai thought.

Feora Swinth of Wulfswinth and John Drake of Pelanor had arrived too. Mai surreptitiously watched them, her face arranged in an expression of polite curiosity. Strong, stubborn Feora was accompanied by two bodyguards and dressed in delicate lace. Mai chuckled silently at the irony. Brown-haired John Drake evoked nothing more than a small flicker of interest from Mai before she moved on to some of the newer arrivals.

Caterina Versini of Svearike came after John Drake. She wore an ensemble that immediately caught Mai's attention due to the black and red. As expected, her entrance was quite dramatic. Mai couldn't help but wonder how many times she had rehearsed it.

Diminutive Liviana Traianius of the Lusitanian Empire walked in alone, wearing a dark violet dress and a white wrap. Mai mentally arched an eyebrow. She has a good taste in fashion, I'll give her that, Mai thought, watching her greet the royalty of Aciras in a borderline clumsy manner-well, clumsy for Mai's standards, at least. Nevertheless, Mai would not be the fool to underestimate Liviana, even if she did not come off as much of a threat. I'd be an idiot to judge her by her appearance. After all, isn't that what I count on other people doing with me? Knights had their chainmail and breastplates and steel gauntlets, and Mai Mei had her lipstick and heels. Mai watched Edwin arrive and approach Liviana. They're betrothed to each other, aren't they? she wondered, eyeing the obvious difference in height. Hmm. That ought to be interesting.

Serafina Gray of Norden was clad in all black (as expected), and after her came Fareeha Amari of Mamlakat Alssahra. Mai glanced quickly at the snake wrapped around her wrist. That must be the ball python that the reports were so quick to point out, she said to herself. In any case, ball python or no ball python, Mai knew that Fareeha was one of the people she would have to tread carefully around. Like Elizaveta, Fareeha reminded Mai of herself-if Mai fought with snake venom instead of bladed fans and rocket launchers instead of daggers disguised as hairpins, that is.

Mai's gaze flitted from face to face. She scanned over the ones already talking to somebody else, deciding that it would be impolite to interrupt. She instead walked in Feora Wulfswinth's direction. Stopping in front of the brown-haired princess, Mai's red-painted lips curved upwards into a smile. "I do not mean to be rude, but I just wanted to say that your dress is absolutely gorgeous," Mai gushed, gesturing towards the other princess, her eyes sparkling.

If I am to be around all of these people for the next three months, I might as well learn as much as I can about them.

Shawn and Zac Hunter
Crown princes of Avalon

Zac was up at the crack of dawn. Zac was always up at the crack of dawn, regardless on how late the previous night had been, which was rather late in this case. However, he was already mentally ready for the day. With a steel pan he had nicked from the kitchen in each hand, a mischievous smile on his face and a sleeping household, or would you call them castleholds?, he swaggered into his brother's room, raising the pans and clanging them together as loud as he could manage as he beelined closer to Shawn all while singing/screaming. "Wake up you lazy bum! We've got stuff to do and trouble to make and YOU'RE STILL SLEEPING!" He stops only to pull the covers off of his brother's bed before banging the pans again screaming at him to wake up, calling him untasteful names in the process

Shawn had been sleeping peacefully, enjoying a dream of walking through a garden with his fabulous self, was all that he recalled. At the sound of his brothers screaming and banging, he would jump with a start, the coolness of the room helping nothing as his covers were stolen away. "Zach, you bastard," he responded. "What if I actually wanted sleep? Not that I want to miss the pretty little miss that bound to be my future wife, but WHAT. THE. FUCK BRO?!"

"Well I wanted you awake and at the tradition of respecting your elders you must respect my decision for you to be awake asshole!" he replies to his brother, a large smile spread across Zac's face as he poked his twin with the pan. Don't tell me you were dreaming of yourself again," he says, rolling his eyes, "I hope you get the bitchiest of the lot! Now put a shirt on, let's go wake up everyone else,"

Shawn rolled his eyes in a goofy manner. Elder Gorgeous just had to throw in the tiny bit that he was three, only three minutes older. "Pft. 'Course I was. When I finally meet someone more fabulous, then I might dream of them." Getting up and opening the second dresser drawer, he pulled out a random blue t-shirt, slipping it over his head. "Bitchiest? Really man? If that's how you wanna play it, then I hope you get the ugliest, poorest, shrew in all the lands." He opened the door wide, turning back to his brother once more. "Which song shall we torture them with this fine morning?"

"Please, You've met a lot of people more fabulous than you, that big ego of yours just won't admit that," He fires back, swinging the pan in the air. "Now, now brother dearest, no point on getting savage on me, save that for your bitchy future wife!" Zac retorts, handing Prince Ego one of the pans. "I don't care what you choose, just make it loud," That common mischievous smile returned to Zach's face for the second timevthat morning and the sun wasn't even fully up yet.

"Oh, like you? Please. You can't even style your hair." Shawn glared at his brother, thinking about what song to sing. "Oh! Oh! Dear Maria, Count Me In!" The young man burt out the doors, his voice loud as he sang the first verse of the song.
"I got your picture
I'm coming with you
Dear Maria, count me in
There's a story at the bottom of this bottle
And I'm the pen."

"Seriously dude, I swear you go through at least $100 worth in hair gel a month. What are you, a chick?" Zac comments, chuckling at his brother's enthusiastic singing, hitting the pan he gave his brother with his own before joining in.
"When the lights go off
I wanna watch the way you
Take the stage by storm
The way you wrap those boys around your finger
Go on and play the leader,"

A shrill yell came from down the corridor

Zach was used to being told off, both twins had more than enough experience in that but the grumpy ramblings of his mother were more annoying than usual. "In all fairness you asked us to make sure you woke up in time,"

"Momsie," Shawn yelled. "Don't you look peachy?"

"Shawn, Zach, what kind of stunt are you two pulling now," shouted the Queen of Avalon as she threw open the door, wrapping the silk robe around her, the King right behind her.

"Dad! What a surprise!"

"You two need to settle down and finish getting packed. Now."

Begrudgingly Zac follows his parent's orders. "Co'mon bro, it's not worth it right now, we'll get them back later,"

"Fine, fine." Putting his arm around his brothers shoulders, he would steer them back to their rooms, but before they even got halfway back, he started the song again, groans of disapproval coming from his parents.
"'Cause I got your picture
I'm coming with you
Dear Maria, count me in
There's a story at the bottom of this bottle,"

Zac couldn't help but chuckle at his brother's singing. Running a hand through his own wild hair, sticking up at all ends. He claps his brother on the back and slips into his room, eyeing the suitcase the lay upon the floor of his clean room

Slipping into his room, Shawn would grab the suitcase from the closet and begin to pack hisself. Taking almost another two hours for morning and preparation activities, the Prince's of Avalon finally set out to the airport. Naturally, the ride there was loud, the twins joking, their parents finally actually awake as they put in their two cents here and there.

Upon arriving at Aciras, the driver would come around and open the door. First, the King, then the Queen, Zach and last, but definitely not least, Shawn.

Zach chuckled, throwing an arm around his brother in a leisurely manner. "You ready to meet your bitch?" he asks.

Shawn grinned, clapping his brother on the back. "Only if your ready to met your ugly shrew, bro." Walking behind their parents, the boys would stop as their parents introduced themselves, and then, it was the boys turn. "Greetings, Princess Raven," Shawn said, giving a slight bow, and then to Niklas. "It's my pleasure to finally meet your acquaintance as well, Prince Niklas." Gosh, why so formal. The words coming out of his mouth made him sound just like the asshats back in Avalon.

Zac couldn't help but giggle at his brother for acting like Avalon's stick-up-the-arses, however, he gave a courteous nod, greeting the princess kindly and complementing her clothes on her.

After the formalities, the two twins walked through the entrance to the Acirian castle. Shawn recognized Ariel immediately. "Yo! Punk Princess!"

Nikolai & Elizaveta

Collaberation Between: @Kyrisse & @Lady Amalthea

A gentle smile came to Elizaveta's lips as he accepted the gift and his face seemed to light up as he examined it. She had not been expecting him to read the story she had translated right at that moment but to see such enthusiasm as he read what all it entailed did her heart well. It let her know that she had at least found something that did indeed interest him. She knew he could have just been playing it off to be kind but the way his eyes devoured the words she felt it was genuine interest. Watching him carefully she rose a brow ever so slightly. With the gifts that were being bestowed she had felt perhaps hers would not be well received or looked down upon because of its low monetary value, his words though made her think otherwise.

As he opened the box to reveal the jewel's within her other brow rose to match the first. Reaching out carefully she plucked the necklace from its silken resting spot and held it gingerly in her fingers as she took a closer look. A radiant twinkle tugged at the corner of her lips before her eyes left the finely crafted piece and sought out his. "Perfection and beauty are in the eyes of the beholder and through mine it is perfection achieved and beauty renowned," she said in a gentile voice before delicately resting the necklace back within its cushion.

Niko watched Veta’s eyes as she gaze at the ornamental string of jewels he had made. He knew that most women adored trinkets, particularly those that twinkled prettily in the light. But the necklace he had painstakingly crafted these past few months wasn’t just a trinket. It was his thoughts, his imagination, a painted picture of what he viewed the Duchess to be. Beautiful, sophisticated and quite a mystery to him. He watched her gently lift the necklace from its case. There was something else he was looking for in her reaction. An appreciation…that delight that comes from knowing that it was made specifically for her. And she didn’t disappoint. He clearly saw it when it tugged at the corners of her lips. He felt a small bubble of pride build up inside him. It was strange, in a way, to finally be able to gift something he made with his own hands to a person who would be important to him as his own kingdom in the future, to see her reaction and to hear her words of praise. Even though he could still see the imperfections of his work, Veta’s words made it seem like it was the finest in all of the world.

Reaching out she closed the box and took it from him with one hand, her other seeking out his and giving it reassuring squeeze. "I adore it and will cherish it always."

Niko smiled. “I’m glad.”

Turning she looked up at her escort Sergi, who had been standing there silently observing, and handed him the case that held her gift. "Please take this to my quarters."

Taking the box, Sergi looked at it and then at her. "Duchess, it is wise for me to leave you?" he asked concerned. Elizaveta let out a bird like chuckle as she brought her hand up and covered her mouth.

"If I cannot be safe for a few moments with my future husband, then I am truly doomed. You cannot always be with me. What, will you stand over our bed on our wedding night?" she asked incredulously. Sergi's eyes widened and a hint of red came to his cheeks at the very thought before scowling and wandering off as she had asked. Turning her attention back to Nikolai she smiled softly as her hand descended to her lap once again. "Well that look was entertaining, I will have to remember that for future use."

Niko politely waited for Veta’s escort to walk off before he chuckled. “I can understand his apprehensiveness in leaving your side. I am, after all, a stranger.” He tucked the journal into the inside pocket of his coat. “I would not appreciate him standing watch over us all the time though. Especially not on our wedding night.” He shook his head amusedly. He was not particularly fond of having guards watch him all the time yet he knew the importance of it. And so to compromise, he allowed several of them to mull around but only Anthony was allowed to stay in close quarters of where he was. Said man was standing near the window, his eyes taking in the royalties as they arrived and at the same time keeping close watch on his young charge.

Listening intently, Elizaveta nodded just slightly in response as her fingers curled over the edge of her clutch. She understood the need for guards but she did not like having them about; in fact the Grand Czarina and the future Czarina had gotten into a rather heated argument on the subject. Elizaveta felt it would a slight, an insult as it were, to the hosts of this little endeavor for her to be accompanied by as many as her grandmother had wished her to be. With so many royals present there was assuredly plenty of security. During a time to build trust and arranged marriages between nations attending with more security could easily be conveyed that one did not trust the King and Queen of Aciras; that was not an insult that Elizaveta was willing to risk. In the end it was agreed that she would bring Sergi and no others; well not so much decided but imposed.

“I’d love to get to know you a little bit better but I’m afraid it’ll be terribly rude to stay here and not greet the others present.” He looked up and swept his eyes around. A good number of guests had arrived, their faces familiar from the profiles he was provided before the event. The Princess of Trelins with her bold pink hair stood out the most. Henry Peterson was by the refreshments table bumping Cara O’Brien. Sade Magoro, Feora Swinth, John Drake, Serafina Gray… He quickly matched faces with names. The beautiful Mai Mei in a red dress soon caught his eyes and his gaze stayed on her a split second longer before he continued matching faces. His eyes fell on Caterina Versini, Princess of Svearike, next. She, as he always thought, looked lovely and exquisite. But memories from his embarrassing encounter with her during the signing of the peace treaty flashed through his mind and he immediately averted his eyes. Edwin Drakewine of Brittania was conversing the child like princess of the Lusitanian empire, Liviana Traianus while Fareeha Amari presented their hosts with a kingly bird of prey. So many important people in one place at the same time... And finally, the twin princes from Avalon.

Keeping still for a moment Elizaveta glanced around, more had arrived since Nikolai had come to her side. Prince John, who was from lands as bitterly cold as her own on the other side of the horizon from her own nations. Some had said that on a clear day one could see from the edge of her world to the beginning of his. Caterina had arrived as well, she held herself with a strong yet understated air and moved with ease; something that Elizaveta could admire. Liviana and Edwin were there now and had found each other; most likely going through similar introductions with each other. One of the ones that Elizaveta had been most interested to become acquainted with was now there; Serafina; a name that was as fiery as people said her spirit was. Then came Fareeha, with a snake on a her arm; that was interesting. Then there were the twins, Shawn and Zack; well things certainly wouldn't be dull now though in the back of her mind she did hope that their hosts did not have a cat around. She still wondered if the rumor about the wig were true.

Niko stood up and offered her his hand to his betrothed. “Shall we?”

After taking note of who was there and making a mental marking of who was not she reached out, placing her hand delicately in his as she rose from her seat. "Of course." Her voice was gentle as she spoke and while her accent was heavy she took the time to ensure she enunciated each sound with care. Lacing her arm through her betrothed she glanced around for a moment before her eyes looked up to Nikolai. "I am afraid I know not one truly, perhaps it would be best if you were to lead the way. Is there any you wish to speak with first? Or perhaps a better question, is there anyone you would like to avoid to start?" she asked thoughtfully with a light on her full lips.

Leon Fords
Prince of Krieg-Königreich

"So, you ready to meet a bunch of royals?"

"You know you and your family are already to much for me. It's not like I'll be speaking with any of them. I'm only going to be there as your closest bodyguard. How did you convince your father to let me come anyway?" Leon was in his personal gym training with his best friend Bartram. In twenty-four hours the two would be standing in the ballroom of the Castle of Aciras. "It was more my mother than I. She knew I'd feel more comfortable having someone I was close to by my side." Bartram was Leon's closest friend. Both born just a few days apart. Bartram was the son of King Herrick's younger sister.

The only reason Bartram was at the position he had was because he worked extremely hard and his friendship with Leon. The to went back and forth over the details of the coming event when King Herrick walked into the room. Both men instantly saluted their King. "At ease." The two then slid effortlessly into the hold stance as if done thousands of times before. King Herrick walked over to his son, "Leon. Today do not view me as your commanding officer. View me as your father. I want to speak with you on common ground." He looked at Bartram and signaled for him to exit. Bartram saluted and then exited the room swiftly. Leon then adjusted to a more personable and comfortable stance. "What is it you would like to discuss, father."

The father looked at his son then walked over to the window producing a cigarette. "You have yet to tell me your thoughts on the arranged marriage."

"It is my duty as the heir to Krieg Königreich to follow the laws and regulations set before me. Part of those regulations is to do what is best for the kingdom. If you see that what is best for the kingdom is to marry another royal of your choosing then I am bound by duty and honor to follow such command. I am willing and ready to do what I must for the Krieg no matter what." Leon hoped that his answer would appease his father. He had no idea what the man was thinking or why he was asking such a question. Never before had the man asked Leon in this form what he thought on a command.

"That is not entirely what I meant. What I want to know is if you will be satisfied. I raised you the same way I was. Where power and love were the only things that truly and ultimately mattered. If you just simply accept the marriage as an order you will be completely casting out love. I want you to try and love the woman I have selected for you. I know more about you than you think. I also care more about you than you would like to believe. So, do as I ask. Not as your king or as higher officer. Do it as I am your father. Try and love the woman. Don't treat it like a mission."

Leon was honestly surprised. He has rarely ever seen this side of his father. The only times he has seen it was when it was directed towards his mother or sisters. Never to himself. King Herrick truly loved his children, but Leon felt he didn't. "Now onto the next thing I would like to speak to you about. I know we had discussed that I would be coming in two days, but an issue has arisen and I have no idea of when it will be settled. So, it may be a few days until I can join you and your mother in Aciras."

"Is everything alright? What about mother? Will she still be coming as planned."

"Nearly. Her flight will be moved to arriving just a few hours before the event. You will still be departing on time. I have also had files E-mailed to you. They are dossier on specific royals that you will be meeting. They are more in depth than the information you have had access to. I want you to familiarize yourself with these individuals and attempt to become friends with them. It is much easier to become allies with friends than it is with acquaintances." King Herrick put out the cigarette and then walked to the door parting with, "Good luck, son."

Leon was sitting in the Krieg's royal families private plane with a few dossier laying in front of them. Many notes marked throughout the pages of the files and a few highlighters in the trash can already. Leon was engulfed in looking over one when Bartram came up to him and sat across from the prince. "You are really taking this seriously."

"I need to. All of the royalties in these files have the potential to be great allies to the kingdom. With their help I could quite possibly end the wars we are in. One or two may be able to help make it a peaceful end as well. Others have the technology, money, and medical knowledge we lack. I feel they also would be ready to assist in removing the terrorist threats we have." Leon would do almost anything if it meant ending the war that existed in his land. He also hoped to eliminate the thought that his kingdom was only there for war. If these soon-to-be rulers could help with that then Leon would do his best to make them his allies.

"Who is among the select group of oh so lucky individuals that King Herrick wants you to befriend?" Leon picked up one of the Dosser's and said, "There's actually only a few. I guess he wanted me to be focused on a specific few that had more value than the rest."

"First there is Princess Willow. She will one day be ruler of Aciras. I don't think I need to explain to you why that would be a good ally. These Dossers are good. They say that she likes to spend quite a lot of time in the Library. I suppose that's why father sent a few books with me to give her. I haven't looked at them and I'm already certain that she will either have already read them or they are something boring."

He put the Dosser on Raven down then picked up the one that had the name Elizaveta Romanova printed across it. "This one here is interesting. The Grand Duchess of Noslainia. Her backstory is an interesting one. She could be a valuable ally for a few reasons. They have a large number of citizens and as a result a large military as well. She is also betrothed to Nikolai Johanssen. He has wealth so there is the potential financial backing from him. I do believe I should focus on the Grand Duchess. According to the dosser I have more in common with her than the prince."

He then pulled up a dosser which he had yet to print off of his laptop that dealt with Feora Swinth. "I have been digging up information on her already to see if there were any common points to talk on. The only thing I can relate with her on that I can find is the size of our kingdoms military's. I couldn't discover who she was betrothed to, but I hope he will be someone I can get on the good side of. Princess Feora's military would be very helpful."

"Another one is Liviana Traianus."
Leon scowls as he says the name, "Apparently father wants me to attempt to use her in order to get friendly with Prince Edwin. I don't think I'll be able to use her like that. At least there was a legitimate reason for befriending Elizaveta, but my father wants me to just use the poor girl. I highly doubt she even gets anything out of her arrangement. Other than that there are no key notes to mention of the others."

"You gotta admit one thing about all this. Your father and you are to thorough on some things." Leon smirked as he looked up at his friend, "Says the man who spends two hours on his hair before going to a party."

"Hey, this hair doesn't just happen." The two laughed and the rest of the plane ride went rather smoothly.

Leon woke up early in the hotel room and got ready in his basic uniform. Due to being the heir he wasn't yet aloud to join the military ranks until he was married and had either a son or daughter. So, he was only limited to the basic uniform. It was still kept much cleaner than some generals and he wore it more than most would expect. He was proudly waiting the day he could fight for his Kingdom like the kings before him, but he dared not let anything look out of place.

He walked into one of the rooms that his security team was using as an head quarters. Having many enemies and terrorist that didn't want you alive meant if you didn't take security seriously it could be dangerous. The small HQ was buzzing with excitement and Bartram noticed Leon and told him, "Your arrival will have to be a little delayed. About two hours north of here there was a ping for facial recognition of a known terrorist from Schrecken von Glaube. We are gonna wait her til we receive word that all is clear."

"What about my mother? Isn't she still in the air?"

"Don't worry. She just landed a few moments ago. They diverted her from coming here just in case. They took her to the back-up hotel. She will most likely arrive at the castle much later than you." Leon sighed in relief, "That's good. When should we expect to be able to leave? I don't like being late."

"At most it will take an hour. Don't worry. You won't miss to much."

"Alright. I suppose I'll look over the dosser's once more. Contact me when it is time to go." It didn't take long for the all clear to come through the proper channels and they were off. It had taken about 45 minutes for the clear to come so Leon knew most of the other royals would be there by now. Once they arrived Leon opened his own door. He couldn't accept someone opening the car door for him. It didn't feel right to him. As he walked up to the castle Bartram was close behind him doing his job. He could quickly switch from joking to serious just like Leon. The ones of import were the King, Queen, and Princess of Aciras. As important was someone standing beside them was Niklas König. Leon had not been informed the man would be there. The fact was probably extremely difficultly hidden from him.

He looked to the King and Queen and spoke, "It is such a pleasure to be standing here in front of you your majesties." Leon bowed before the King and Queen. Once he rose he continued, "As the prince of Krieg-Königreich I would like to extend apologies for the lack of my father and mothers appearance. Father sends his regards and says it may be a few days before he is able to come. For my mother complications came up during her flight that caused her arrival to the castle to be pushed back. She should be here within an hour or two. As a thank you for being invited to your kingdom I present to you a ceremonial blade only made within Krieg-Königreich. My parents and I hope that relations between our kingdoms continue to be smooth and peaceful."

With that he turned to Raven and bowed before her as well then returned to his hold stance, "It is a pleasure to meet you as well Princess Willow. As a gift to you I picked out a few books sold from writers in Krieg-Königreich. I hope that they are to your liking." Leon then turned to Niklas and looked at the man, "It is a pleasure to meet you Prince König. I hope that we can get to know each other very well over these next few months."

Leon then walked past the four to the castle followed by Bartram. The other guards departed as Leon didn't want to disrespect Aciras' ability to protect him so he only wanted to bring one guard with him. When he entered the ballroom he saw many faces. All but two he recognized. He decided the best course of action for him right now would be to stand at the side and watch how the royals reacted with each other. Observation was one of the best methods of Intel gathering.

Feora Isabel Swinth of Wulfswinth

Feora breathed a small sigh of relief when she realized that her betrothed Prince Henry had yet to notice her. She was perfectly content with that because she certainly wasn’t ready to meet him. Granted, she didn’t think she ever would be. For one to not be nervous in these circumstances you would have to be incredibly brave or simply ignorant. She hated the whole idea of creating alliances through arranged marriage because it was so flawed. How does one expect a kingdom to become stronger when the leaders resent each other? She didn’t want that fate, the very same fate that her father was forcing upon her. However, she hadn’t come up with a plan of action that would not jeopardize her kingdom’s safety. Whatever she did she had to take into consideration the potential repercussions. She would not be the one who causes her kingdom’s demise, but she also didn’t want to lose herself.

She held back what would have been a very unladylike groan of annoyance. She started walking across the room, putting distance between her and Prince Henry. She knew that he would notice her eventually, and when he did, she would let him come to her, not vice versa. She maintained a placid façade as she leisurely yet still elegantly crossed the room. Her guards Fitzroy and Maxwell fell in step beside her. “You know, both of you don’t need to stay glued to my side. It would make more logical sense if one of you found a vantage point where you could see the entire room at once,” she stated. Her guards looked surprised by her clear knowledge of tactical planning, making her feel honestly insulted. However, instead of snapping at them like she wanted to, she simply arched a brow in response. One of them eventually let out a sigh and did as she had stated. A pleased smile pulled at the corners of her lips.

“Oh, and Maxwell,” she called to the guard when something important came to mind that she needed to tell him.

“Yes, your highness,” he replied after halting and turning to face her once more.

“Don’t just focus your attention on me. As far as I am concerned, the others’ safety is just as important. Be here to keep the peace if a fight does break out,” she added. Maxwell nodded his head in response then returned to his search for a good vantage point for surveillance.

As Feora was making her way across the room, Princess Mai stepped in front of her. A smile played on her features when Mai complimented her dress. “Thank you. And you look quite flawless. Not many can pull off red as well as you do,” she remarked kindly.

Casimir Antik D'strad

Pulling up to the luxurious castle, a white limousine stopped before the front steps of the Aciras palace. An attending valet rushed forward to open the door and out stepped... an older, dark skinned gentlemen who held a long white box at his sides. Deriez Cathhoc sighed deeply and looked pointedly at the guard's and valet's confusion. As he contemplated his predicament, another limosine, this one black, pulled up just behind the white one. He looked to the guards after taking note of the second car's arrival.

Earlier, Deriez sat across from Casimir who boredly had crossed his legs and stared out the window of the limo's tinted windows. He had to admit, the prince of Ortha had been oddly quiet for once. Casimir bounced his leg impatiently, tightly holding onto the white package on his relaxed, high waisted red trousers that ended in a large black sash across his abdomen, giving a hint of his highly sculpted abdomen beneath. Over that, he merely wore a long sleeved golden-colored jacket that nicely complemented his olive skin tone but left his chest and pectorals open to the space uncovered between his pants and open overcoat. At Casimir's side, hooked through one of his belt loops was a bright crimson scarf of sorts, a free hanging cloth that draped at his side at all times. His eyeliner, as always, was on point. As soon as the Aciras palace was in sight, Casimir bolted upright, putting both feet down.

"I have an idea!" His green eyes were wide with excitement that had been buried under a stack of boredom for the few hours they'd been travelling, first by plane and now by limo. Deriez's response was short and cutting.

"No."

"Wha-? You don't know what I was going to say--"

"Is it the plan you told me about last night?"

Casimir went silent as his advisor crossed his arms, looking at the Prince with a nonsense-free air. "Yes, that's what I thought." Deriez turned his head to look out the window as well. A moment of silence later, Casimir spoke up.

"I'm going to do it."

"You will not."

"I'm telling you, slow down the limo right now."

"Your majesty--" Deriez started to scold the Prince with a sigh. At that moment Casimir opened the door of the moving limo as it was a passing inside of the palace gates and bailed out, tucking and rolling in his fine clothing. Deriez nearly had a heart attack as he jumped up, slamming the limo door closed and sticking his head out the window to note Casimir popping himself up and dashing into the bushes towards the back of the palace. "Oh my god." Deriez practically wheezed as he sat himself back down, taking his phone and putting in a number. He raised the phone to his ear, adjusting his glasses.

"Yes, hello, May I speak to the captain of the Aciras royal guard? It's the Prince of Ortha's advisor, Deriez... Yes, please don't kill him, he's not an intruder..."

Right at that moment, Casimir jogged around the castle and found what he was looking for, a rose ladder extending to the second floor. With a grin, his eyes gleaming, he hopped up and slid his fingers through the thick wood and began making the climb. He was so excited that he lost his footing at one point and would have fallen half a story down had it not been for his hand actually getting stuck. With a slightly panicked grunt, he flailed his way back onto the ladder and let out a sigh of relief when he regained his position. Looking back up to the window, he continued his climb. Half not believing his luck and half knowing it would work out a it had, Casimir gently pushed open the window and slipped inside to a luxurious bathroom. He nearly ran out of the room but hopped on one foot in the doorway as he skid to a stop. He walked to the mirror, double checking that his clothes weren't dirty or anything from his bail out and doing a fast rework of his eye liner to ensure its prominence. Satisfied, Casimir slid his eyeliner back into his pocket and grinned at his reflection.

"Showtime."

Having asked for and memorizing a map of the layout of Aciras palace back at Ortha, Casimir quickly found the long banister staircase that overlooked the area in which everyone mingled and hung around. He grinned from ear to ear as he stood at the top of said staircase and extended his arms to his sides, his voice carrying all around thanks to the acoustics in the room.

"Your Majesty's!"

He took a look around the room, hoping he had ensnared everyone's most likely confused attention. Keeping his arms extended at his sides he began to descend the staircase. The colorful garment attached at his hip gave him an attractive asymmetrical silhouette, his open arms exposing more of his bare chest and upper abdomen. As he descended, Deriez came in through the front door with an unamused expression.

"I come with a small gift for all of you in celebration of this most... enticing of meetups."

He gave a breathy chuckle as he reached the bottom of the stairs, hands on his hips with confidence as he looked around to everyone in the room, noting the beautiful Isobel, the mysterious Sade, and many, many other attractive men and women all waiting to open their hearts. His gaze at last fell on Mai Mei, and his face lit up like a child on christmas. Before addressing her, he turned his attention back to everyone else.

"I offer to you my personal handmaidens and men for our stay here in Aciras. They are yours to do with as you please over the next three months. You may refuse them if you wish, they are but a gift after all." He laughed a bit more heartily at that, his joke of course being that refusing any gift from any country would be a slap-of-the-face insult and turning down gifts would be horribly offensive. As he spoke, several well dressed handmaids and men filed into the door, having been the contents of the second limo that had followed Casimir and Deriez. They filtered through before appearing before all the gathered participants, bowing or curtseying formally to their assigned prince or princess. The maidens and men that had an assigned participant that hadn't arrived yet stayed near the door with their hands clasped, smiles on their faces. With his introduction over, instead of going to the King and Queen of Aciras, he turned towards Mai Mei and strode with purpose to her. His pointed-toe boots gave a small echoing footfall each time he rocked over his heel as he stopped before her and bowed, picking up her hand in his own and giving it a gentle kiss.

"Lady Rose," He murmured, looking up at her from where he was bowed, his lips still hovering over her hand as he gingerly let it go. With an eyeroll, Deriez stepped forward and handed the white package over to Casimir, who took it with a small nod. "For you, I not only have a handmaiden but a small present I commissioned from Ortha's finest silk weavers. . ."

Casimir's strong hand were placed over the long, white box and lifted up the top. Within, he brandished what appeared to be a crimson and black lace parasol. The lace itself, upon further inspection, was delicate Orthan silk woven to give the appearance of lace. He passed to her the box, his smile mildly melancholic as he looked at her face for her reaction.

"It is a shame you are not my betrothed," His voice purred quietly, his green eyes half closed as his head tilted to the side. "But I take comfort in knowing... I may be able to protect you from harming your delicate skin in the sunlight." Casimir chuckled softly, his eyes then looking over to find whom she'd been talking to. His eyes widened and he smiled at Feora.

"Lady Feora," His eyes met hers, turning himself slightly towards her. "We finally meet."

Caterina Frenandaz Versini.

Svearike.

Interacting with: @Everyone, @Lady Amalthea, & @Kyrisse

Caterina passed by the royalty, greeting her and all the other visitors, into the grand ballroom of the castle. She scanned the walls, the high ceiling, and the decoration it held. It was quite simple, but the walls were decorated and crafted with only the finest art. She appreciated the sculpted high ceiling for a few more moments before continuing her way deeper into the ball room. She didn’t hide away in a corner, or sit down at the side, but she didn’t stand right at the center of the ballroom either. She stood somewhere in between where she could keep to herself, yet she looked open for discussion and in no way intimidated by the presence of the powerful royals around her.
Having arrived a little later than expected, there were already a few of the royalties all around the ball room. She searched the room for Shawn Hunter, or his twin, Zachary Hunter, but to no use. They hadn’t arrived yet. She sighed a small sigh of relief as she looked at Zoron that held the same expression; They both knew the meeting wouldn’t go as well or as smoothly as planned for, just because Caterina wasn’t capable of playing on anyone’s emotions or pretending to be something she wasn’t. But around Shawn—Her betrothal--- She needs to be what her father said: A woman. Not a Queen. And she certainly couldn’t just ignore him. As her duty, as her place as the next to rule, it was her chance to prove that she would and could do anything for her nation.

She just didn’t like the idea of marriage for the nation.

‘’But wouldn’t Amelia be okay with it? Even when she was just seventeen, she knew her upcoming faith—And dare I say, she was even excited for it! Your father has chosen for you a man he is sure will honor you and cherish you, and in return, you must do the same.’’ Caterina recalled her personal advisor’s words with an inward snort. Of course. It all came back to her.

Caterina had entered the ball room after Prince John Of Pelanor. She glanced at him as he leaned on one of the walls at the side. She shook her head. Especially a prince should be out there making connections, not just waiting on the side.

Her eyes fell on Sade, Princess of Udwen, next. She wore a gold and black dress, which to Caterina seemed a little out there, and she would have personally chosen something less catchy; however, she wouldn’t deny that the Princess of Udwen wore it exceptionally well, and her beautiful curly hair only caught Caterina’s eyes more. The lady was definitely a beauty.

Isobel, the princess with the pink hair, of course caught Caterina’s eyes. She let out a slight giggle at her hair. It really was pink. Very pink. She gave her a small smile before diverting her eyes to where the buffet was. She found Henry, the bastard child, and Cara, the chosen princess, already helping themselves to the sweets. Caterina’s eyes widened in what could be distaste and utter confusion as Henry bumped his hips lightly with Cara's. Caterina quickly diverted her eyes and blinked a few times.

Well, that was definitely something. The stay here will be more entertaining than anything else. She thought with a slightly raised eyebrow as she continued to scan the room.

Feora, Princess of Wulfswinth, stood in a beautiful green dress with extravagant gold detailing; Caterina found herself wanting to be in such an elegant dress. She noticed Mai Mei, Of Liang, approach Feora. Caterina was surprised to find Mai looked as beautiful and as doll-like as she did in the pictures. She shook her head a little, she still didn’t make her comfortable.

Deciding against joining the two ladies in a conversation, her eyes were caught by Liviana’s, the child, entrance, and then Prince Edwin, Of Brittania, soon behind. Liviana had settled in the corner, and Edwin soon followed. They were probably betrothals. Caterina giggled silently; The height difference was more than amusing. Though Caterina didn’t believe Liviana was that small, seeing her in real life approved of all the pictures and information. In a way, Caterina became curious to become acquainted with her; however, she left it for later as she was after all with her betrothals.

Her eyes were soon attracted to Saferina, Princess of Norden, in all black. She admired any black wear, but she felt the princess may have overdone it just a tad. A pop of color never did anyone harm.

Caterina was growing bored with her people-watching, but she wasn’t up to conversing with royals, who were probably as anxious as she was. Although she was anxious and a little worried, she kept her poised stance and smizing eyes. That never changed, no matter how bad or how good Caterina felt.

She diverted her eyes to where she noticed Duchess Elizaveta sitting with Prince Nikolai of Anduin; As Caterina had been told before, Elizaveta really held herself well with an air of elegance and grace that Caterina admired. Nikolai and Caterina had become somewhat acquainted to each other in Vale, a few months back. Her cheeks slowly heated up at the turn of events that took after their peace treaty. She inwardly rolled her eyes—She didn’t even like the man that much.

The entrance of Fareeha, Of Mamlaket Elsahhra, made goose bumps run through Caterina, not only because of the beautiful white dress but because of the snake casually wrapped around her arm. She made note to not come in contact with Fareeha unless Zoron was around.

Speaking of Zoron, she looked around for him to find him farther away from her. When she caught his eyes, he gave her a wink. Oh how she loved the man. He understood Caterina more than anyone else.

Caterina was starting to grow bored—She needed to meet Shawn already. She wanted to know what exactly she was walking into. And like her prayers had been answered by God. Shawn and Zachary Hunter walked through the ballroom’s door. She scanned the twins; They didn’t look alike, yet something was quite the same. Perhaps the lively spirit. Although she had just wished for Shawn to join the ballroom already, so she could get over the introductions, she grew even more anxious to see him and his twin there.

Could you blame her?

The rumors proved they were practically insane.

Thankful that she wasn’t caught or known yet by Shawn, she turned and walked to the drinks’ bar. There was some alcoholic drinks, and although she knew it wasn’t appropriate to have a drink that early, but she needed something!

Caterina held the glass and slowly made her way away from the buffet. She glanced at the doors as Leonard, Prince of Krieg-Konigreich, who like herself decided against mingling and stuck to himself, observing the other royals.

She shook her head a little. What was she going to do about Shawn? Was she to approach him first? Or should she let him approach her? She inwardly rolled her eyes. She didn’t want to wait for a man, even if was the Prince of Avalon, to approach her first. Deciding against waiting, she would finish her drink and join Shawn, His twin, and now Saferina.

Her attention was diverted to the staircase as Casimir, Of Ortha, walked down the stairs. Her eyes may have popped slightly at his quite attractive and fit physique. How did he manage to get to the staircase without going through the doors?

She turned to look ahead as she walked, only to bump right into Nikolai Of Anduin and Duchess Elizaveta. All her drink’s content were spilled on Nikolai’s chest and a little on his arms. Caterina looked at Elizaveta first in horror; She didn’t wish to ruin a lady’s gown in such an event.
‘’ Herregud! Jag ber om ursäkt för besväret. jag är ledsen. ’’ Caterina fired fluent Sveariken as she tried to wipe off the drink. Only to realize how even more inappropriate that was. She abruptly stepped back and lowered her head slightly for Nikolai and Elizaveta.

‘’ I am really sorry for the inconvenience. I got distracted.’’ She said, her accent a little heavier than most times due to her panicking state. In a matter of moments, she had handed her glass to one of the handmaidens, as another took Nikolai’s jacket to clean.

‘’ I had hoped to reunite with you on a nicer occasion, Prince Nikolai.’’ Caterina said with the same small smile she always held as she turned to Elizaveta and extended her hand. ‘’ I am very sorry for my rude intervention. It’s an honor to finally meet you; You look absolutely stunning, Duchess Elizaveta. I am Princess Caterina of Svearike.’’ She introduced herself, although she was more than aware that Elizaveta already knew her anyway.

Isobel Martinez

Crown Princess of Trèlins

Interacting with:Casimir @ReaptheMusic

Waiting for Raven's reply Isobel gave a nod before addressing the king and queen with kind greeting and best wishes from her kingdom before slipping inside as new arrivals appeared. She was the first to arrive it seemed. Not for long, however. Soon enough royals were pouring into the room and quickly taking to each other to interact whether it be as they were betrothed, meet before, for the hell of it or try to make alliances. Unless her betrothed was here and either didn't know she was the one as she didn't him or he was trying to ignore the fact his future wife stood in the room Isobel didn't exactly tick any boxes. The only royal she had before met was Ariel who, ar this point, hadn't arrived. Trèlins wasn't particularly the best ally, what did they have really? A lot in fashion and hair dye and such. They had some great architects and inventors but what else at that? Their army, although functional, wasn't as large as other kindoms and not as strong.

Isobel was left by the corner, not entirely sure what to do exactly. Isobel wasn't an introvert, not at all. She loved people and she loved mingling, however, this was different. She hadn't met any royals despite Ariel and was unsure how to approach the situation in a right manner, would it be rude if she just went over and started talking? Should there be some sort of approach in talking with royals, Isobel wasn't taught that, she didn't expect her extroverted self to get stuck like this. Her parents left when she started conversation with Raven earlier, they has business in Trèlins and would return later. She soon spots Ariel, with a calmung sigh she set to greet her friend but Ariel was soon busy and Isobel made a mental note to greet her later.

Isobel scanned the room for someone to start a conversation with but, before she could make a move, Casimir entered in in a grand manner, Isobel couldn't help but giggle ever so slightly at the man's entrance

It didn't feel right, taking a handmaiden. Sure, her castles had maids and manservants, Isobel chatted as openly to him as she did the city's nobles, much to her grandmother's disgust. She's never had a personal handmaiden before, her parents raised her to keep her room clean herself and, being the hands-on person she is, she rarely needed people to do personal favours for her. The fact she was another kingdom's handmaiden just made it feel more like taking even if it was a gift. The thing was, refusing a gift was rude, almost like giving a kingdom the finger, Trèlins doesn't need any trouble.

"Good morning Princess Isobel," a bruette greeted her kindly with a low bow. "It's lovely to meet you, I'm Ziria, I will be your handmaiden for the next three months. Do with me as you will," Isobel gave the handmaiden a large smile

"Good morning Ziria! It's lovely to meet you," Isobel greets her cheerfully, grasping the handmaiden's hand in hers and shakes it slighty. Ziria looked at her slightly oddly, probably not expecting such a greeting from the princess. But at least she had a reason to talk to someone. She spotted Casimir across the room talking from one princess to the other. She walks over to him and, after he greets Feora, she clears her throat before greeting the prince simply with, "Prince Casimir," and a slightly awkward curtsy. Waiting for him to give her his attention before going on, "Sorry for interrupting but I just came to thank you for your... generous gift." she says. Most would have stopped there, Isobel, however, seemed to have a natural inability to hold her tongue, "I mean, I'm not accustomed to having a handmaiden and doubt I ever will again but for the sake of kingdom peace, right? Anyway, miss Ziria here seems she will make great company. So thank you,"

Niklas König

Mai remained on his thoughts, even after she continued inside and he was greeted by, and he greeted in return, other members of global royalty. He was not entirely taken by the gesture to realize that it could be a strategic move, but he nonetheless appreciated it. Even if she planned to stab him in the back, at least he'd make an effort to go down swinging- with her own sword.

These three months will be interesting indeed.

Now where are the last of the royalties? He's met all but a couple. The last ones should be arriving soon.

And then from behind them, from all of them, a booming voice. Niklas spun about, as did his guard, both of them reaching towards their belts- in Niklas's case, for something that wasn't there. But no; they both relaxed after a moment, frowning in distaste at one of the latest-arriving Princes. However dry and stuffy tradition and such might be, there was a reason it was so. To ignore it was disrespect to the ancestors of Kings and Queens.

So that explained the prince-less escort that just drove up, and the panicked man, shouting at the guards.

Either way, he frowned a little bit more at the man's declaration of his gift- to all of them. It was admirable, in that way, to gift everyone something. A little less so when they were all the exact same gift, whether to Prince, Princess, King, or Queen. And he disproved of the gift in itself- have a person, do with them what you will. It did unsettle him, somewhat.

He passed a look to Kuhn, then nodded in the direction of the handmaid that was bolting straight for him. Obediently, his guard intercepted her before she could reach him, and took her aside. He'll deal with her- 'greet her'- when he finished greeting the royalty. However, important gifts are, he is to greet the royalty first.

Fareeha Amari

She turned, annoyance dragging at her features, at a 'spectacular' entrance from the stairs at the rear of the palace. Unlike all the other royalty, this one- Casimier, she immediately recalled- decided to come in through a much less convenient entrance. Like a peacock, all feather, all prettiness, but not much else. There were showy entrances- and then there were the overly extravagant ones, the ones that were making up for a lack of something else. And it was no wonder. Ortha had nothing compared to other nations here- nations that were ten, twenty, fifty, a hundred times their size. Aciras itself was massive compared to Ortha.

So why the showy entrance? Was it really necessary to call such attention to himself? Of course, based on his clothing- or lack of, where the torso was concerned- he certainly thought so.

But she smiled none the less when the manservant approached her, beginning to speak.

"Excuse me, Princess Amari, I am at your complete service for these next three months." He said it exotically, enticingly, temptingly, clearly having an idea of his intended purpose. "My name is--"

With a dismissive wave, she hushed him, replying, "Do you have any idea on how to care for a hyena? Or for a royal python? How fast can you run a mile? If I have a servant, I need one that can keep up."

The manservant stopped dead, trying to process her request. Hyenas? Pythons? Running? He had zero experience in all of those- he was just a servant!

"Exactly what I thought."

She turned towards the descending Casimier, calling out in response, her voice booming with command and authority- "My thanks for the gift, Prince Casimier. Gracious gratitude is all I have."

Without skipping a beat, she turned back to the manservant.

"Your service thus far has provided satisfactory, and I release you from your service to me."

She gave the man a wave with her right hand, Habi's head raising from her forearm to stare blankly at the man. The man slowly nodded, eyeing the snake nervously, before taking his leave.

There. She did it diplomatically.

She turned back to Ariel, and gave her a slight smile. "Where were we?"

Mai Mei of Liang and Casimir D'strad of Ortha

Collab in between @ayzrules and @ReapTheMusic

Mai smiled brightly at Feora. "Thank you," she said, her eyes flashing over the delicate lace of Feora's dress once again. Just then, a loud "Your Majesties!" rang out from somewhere above her. Mai glanced up in the direction of the voice.

At the top of the elegant staircase was none other than Casimir Antik D'strad. Mai grinned in spite of herself at the sight of the olive-skinned prince and his absolutely outrageous attire. Really, why does Casimir insist on going shirtless no matter what the occasion? thought Mai wryly. He promptly offered the services of "personal handmaidens and men" to the assembled royalty as a gift. Mai resisted the urge to roll her eyes. I don't want to think about why he decided that this would be an appropriate gift, she said to herself.

Having descended the staircase completely, Casimir strode purposefully in Mai and Feora's direction. As he came closer, Mai was able to fully...appreciate what he was wearing. High-waisted red trousers, a black sash, a long-sleeved jacket made of gold fabric, and eyeliner. Lots of eyeliner.

Casimir stopped in front of Mai and bowed, then gently kissed her hand. The side of Mai's lip twitched, and she couldn't help but to remember how Niklas had done the exact same thing not thirty minutes ago. At the mention of an additional present, Mai arched an eyebrow. It was then she noticed the white box Casimir had brought inside with him. He opened it, revealing a parasol. It was crimson and decorated with black lace. Casimir presented it to her with a flourish. He smiled, and there was a slight hint of wistfulness in his expression.

Mai was surprised that Casimir had chosen to give Mai a present before he so much as met his betrothed. She recalled that he was betrothed to Serafina "Ariel" Grey, the princess whom Mai had noticed wearing all black earlier. Seeing her paired with Casimir will be like watching a raven and a peacock, Mai mused to herself.

"It is a shame you are not my betrothed," Casimir murmured quietly. "But I take comfort in knowing... I may be able to protect you from harming your delicate skin in the sunlight."

"Oh, Casimir. I agree, it is a shame, but life is not perfect, no?" Mai replied in a soft voice, a coy smile playing over her lips. It had been quite some time since she'd last seen Casimir. Mai tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and gently examined the parasol. It was absolutely exquisite, and upon further inspection, she noticed that the lace was actually black Orthan silk woven so that it resembled lace. How ingenious!

Mai laughed lightly and opened the parasol. "How will I ever be able to thank you for this wonderful gift?" she asked, looking up at him from under lowered lashes.

Though Casimir had turned his attention to Feora, he looked back at her. His green eyes gently gazed down the tresses of her ebony lockes to the bright color of her dress, then back to meet her brown eyes. He gave her a slightly crooked smile, his shoulders falling back as his posture straightened.

"Well, Lady Rose..." He glanced over, suddenly noting the bounce of pink hair drifting towards him like a cloud of fantasy in a world of darkness. Catching his attention, he turned to be suddenly greeted by Isobel, his eyes wide and his eyes sparkling as she recounted her thanks to him.

"Prince Casimir, Sorry for interrupting but I just came to thank you for your... generous gift. I mean, I'm not accustomed to having a handmaiden and doubt I ever will again but for the sake of kingdom peace, right? Anyway, miss Ziria here seems she will make great company. So thank you,"

Casimir chuckled, taking a step back from the women before him and took a bow, one hand in front of his abdomen and the other behind his back. As he raised, he extended his hand to take Isobel's within it and giving it a gentle kiss as well. As he was about to respond, a voice called across the room towards him.

"My thanks for the gift, Prince Casimier. Gracious gratitude is all I have."

These were the words uttered by Fareeha before she sent his servant away. The servant looked... incredibly sad. He made his way back to Casimir and stood beside his prince, uncertain of what to do. Casimir's grin faded slowly from his face as he looked at his very disappointed servant. His face had fallen completely flat, the eyeliner on his face giving him a stoic and hardened expression. He looked to the servant and gestured with a nod to Deriez. The servant begrudgingly made his way back to the Prince's advisor. His servants had truly been looking forward to this small vacation for themselves, and Casimir knew that. The Orthan Prince slowly turned on his heels to face Fareeha... then burst out laughing, his voice echoing around the ballroom with his hands on his hips. He looked at her, his eyes sparkling just as much as they were before, if not brighter.

"Princess Fareeha! This is joyous news!" He grinned at her, green eyes catching hers from across the room. "I, too, have no interest in you!" He turned back towards Mai mei, Isobel, and Feora, chuckling heartily.

"If you don't mind, I think I will help myself to those amazing looking Aciran delicacies... Isobel, won't you join me?."

Mai kept her expression arranged in one of mild curiosity as Fareeha and Casimir called to each other from across the room. She didn't know what Casimir was thinking, alienating her like that, but then again, she didn't know what Fareeha was thinking either, rejecting a generous gift from another kingdom. Even if Fareeha had no desire for the servant, it was better to pretend to appreciate him than to publicly reject Casimir's "gift". That's what Mai would have done, anyway-and what she would probably be doing, seeing as she truly had no need of a handmaid or manservant. Back in Liang, Mai took care of her personal needs herself, like she had her entire life before her uncle had taken the throne. She didn't intend on changing that just because she was in Aciras. Besides, she wouldn't trust anyone but herself with her bladed hairpins, fans, and parasols, nor did she trust anyone but herself with her make-up, for that matter.

Casimir spontaneously decided to tackle the sweets table. Mai impulsively trailed after him, giving Feora one last smile. Mai had learned a great deal about her in their short interaction-she was not openly aggressive, and she was sincere. She had learned a great deal about Fareeha as well, for that matter, and Mai thought that she had to amend her earlier thoughts about the princess from Mamlakat Alssahra. Like Elizaveta, Fareeha reminds me of myself, if I fought with snake venom instead of bladed fans and rocket launchers instead of daggers disguised as hairpins, and if I had no filter on my mouth. Still, Mai would tread carefully around her. If she was so bold as to publicly reject a gift from Casimir, and by extension, Ortha, then she would not hesitate to take more drastic measures if she felt they were necessary.

Mai closed the parasol gently and handed it to Zheng, who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere. He nodded slightly at her before disappearing once again, leaving Mai's hands free. Although she had not noticed them before due to Casimir's showy entrance, Mai spotted Shawn and Zac Hunter of Avalon mingling with the others. Immature pranksters and jokesters, those two, thought Mai. Not worth my time. They remind me of Zhou. Speaking of which, where the bloody hell was he?

Next, Mai picked out Leonard Fords of Krieg-Königreich. The neighbor of König der Welten, it seems. Interesting. Well, if I am to wed the heir to the throne of König der Welten, I should do my best to be friendly to him. Leonard hadn't said anything to anybody yet, opting to simply people watch.

Near the sweets table was the bar, where visibly distraught Caterina Versini of Svearike was currently standing with Elizaveta Romanava and her betrothed, Nikolai Johanseen of Anduin. The Sveariken princess was staring in horror at the pair. Mai spared them a glance, not wanting to stare, before moving on.

She finally caught up to Casimir, who was about to attack the food. That was one thing he and Zhou had in common-an unnatural capacity to eat. Really, I do not understand it, Mai recalled. In fact, now that she thought about it, it was the only thing that the two had in common. For some reason, they just wouldn't get along while in Ortha. Oh, they put on a show, of course, although Zhou's pretense was much worse than Casimir's, but Mai wasn't stupid. They didn't like each other, and no matter what Mai said or did, they would not like each other. For the remainder of their trip to Ortha, Mai had done her best to keep Zhou as far away from Casimir as possible.

"Are you just going to walk off like that after giving me such a lovely present?" Mai asked teasingly. She drew up alongside Casimir, raising an eyebrow at him. "Just because we are not betrothed does not mean that we cannot spend time with each other," she continued, popping a cherry into her mouth. She chewed slowly and swallowed before speaking again. "It has been so long since we last saw each other. What have you been occupying your time with? Lavishing other pretty girls with gifts, I presume?" questioned Mai, her soft voice laced with playfulness. She honestly would not have been surprised to learn that he was doing just that. Casimir, above all, liked to impress others. To be blunt-he liked to show off. Mai loved that about him, though she would never let anyone know, of course.

" ... Just you." He admitted this softly, almost under his breath as his heels clacked gently, having given a lingering look on Mai Mei as he made his way to the table of food, looking over the spread with a keen and curious eye. Should she have followed him, he would start speaking to the pink haired princess while beginning to heap his plate with two of everything on the table. And it was a long table. Thus an anthill was beginning to form much to the strained faces of some of the maid staff around the table he drew the goods from. Having been a practiced dancer and sword fighter since he was small, he looked away from the small mountain of food on his plate towards her without dropping anything.

"It is my pleasure... Princess Isobel." He smiled warmly at her, a small smile that was a touch more shy than his shining grin. "I take comfort that my gift pleases the representative of Trèlins. You look..." Casimir cleared his throat, hiding the fact that she honestly took his breath away as he straightened up before her, the food balanced in one hand. "You look radiant, Princess."

When Casimir moved away this time, Mai let him go, an almost melancholy air in both of their words, despite their previous playfulness. Mai sighed slightly and turned away, wondering if Niklas was still outside greeting the arriving royalty. Her eyes roamed around the room, looking for what, she didn't know-oh, yes, Zhou. Where was he? He was more than just fashionably late now, he was plain old late!

Zheng must have sensed her agitation, although how Mai could not possibly fathom, considering the fact that her expression barely changed, but suddenly he had appeared by her side. "Zhou. Where is he?" she hissed out of the corner of her mouth. Zheng shook his head slightly. Mai let out a breath. "Would you mind trying to get him over here? she asked.

"Not at all." And with that, Zheng was gone.

Alone once more, Mai surveyed the room. Anything with Casimir around is always...interesting, she thought, contemplating all that had transpired in the past day. Given the choice between Niklas and Casimir, would I marry Casimir? As soon as the notion popped into her head, Mai ruthlessly shut it down. No. I will marry Niklas, no matter how I personally feel, because that is what I need to do. That is what Liang needs me to do. For all our "flirting", my relationship-if you can truly call it that-with Casimir ends now.

With that settled, Mai straightened her back, brushed an invisible speck of dust off of her sleeve, and strode confidently back into the crowd. It was done. It had been settled ages ago.

Glancing one last time in bold, flamboyant Casimir's direction, Mai's lipstick-coated lips formed a small half-smile as she walked towards the opposite side of the room. I think I'll keep the parasol, though. What's the harm in a few memories?

Nikolai, Elizaveta & Caterina

Niko’s eyes made another quick sweep across the room. “I’m afraid I know most of these dignitaries only by name and by face. With the exception of the Princess of Svearike, who I’ve met several months ago during the signing of the peace treaty between our kingdoms. I—“ His words were interrupted when Casimir loudly announced his arrival. Distracted from his conversation with the Duchess, he looked up and watched as the olive skinned Prince of Ortha descended the staircase with his arms wide open. He listened to him declare gifts for everyone and raised an eyebrow as more than a dozen men and women filed into the room. Elizaveta turned her head slightly, eyeing the man as he made his entrance and presented the gifts. It left a rather unpleasant taste in her mouth to be gifted a human being, even if only for a short time.

The man apparently assigned to Niko was a man with dark hair and dark eyes and was a few inches shorter than Aduin's prince. He was wearing blue embroidered silk and gold churidar kurta pajama and had a pleasant smile on his face. He bowed his head in respect to both Niko and Elizaveta. “My name is Arush, your majesties. I shall attending to all your needs during the length of your stay here in Aciras,” he formally introduced himself.

Elizaveta looked the man over before being tapped on the shoulder by her own gift. "And I am Abiza, here for all yours needs Duchess." Glancing over towards her betrothed she took a shallow breath, her fingers curling against his arm slightly before her eyes went back to Abiza.

"While I am honored to be bestowed such a stunning gift the only request I have of you Abiza is to enjoy your stay here. I can tend to my own needs," she said in a kind voice but there was a firmness to it and in her eyes that showed that she would not be questioned on this manner. Abiza was not sure what to do, she had not been denied before. The look of confusion on her face caused the Duchess to reach out to her as she tucked her clutch under her arm. "It means do as you wish, you needn't wait to see what I desire."

Anthony, who had been watching Niko and Elizaveta from the far wall, moved a little closer as he eyed Arush. Although the man was a ‘gift’ from the royalty of Ortha, he was considered a potential danger. If he made a move Anthony deemed inappropriate or threatening, he would be more than ready to put him down. But all the man really did was to introduce himself and offer his young prince a pleasant smile. Anthony’s stance remained wary as he stayed closer to his Prince. He no longer watched the other royalties and instead kept his sharp eyes on Arush and Niko.

Glancing out of the corner of her eye, Elizaveta noticed that Leon had arrived. A gentle smile graced her lips as she nodded to him in recognition. She had not met the man but she knew of him, as she did most of the royals. The thing was, she knew a little more about him than the others. When the betrothal was brought up there had been a list made. Though her grandmother and herself were against the pairing of royals they both knew it could help their nation. Her grandmother had chosen three who she thought their nations could be benefit the Empire. Elizaveta took a more personal route. Choosing three whom she felt would best match her personality. One's that perhaps even if love did not develop between them a mutual understanding and respect could be achieved. Feeling that a nation with its royals bickering would fall to ruin eventually. Wanting instead a pairing that would still be agreeable even if nothing else came of it. In the end one of the ones she had chosen was indeed at her side, the other she smiled at now. The third? That can wait.

Niko returned Arush’s smile with a polite smile of his own. He was just about to speak to him when he was again interrupted, this time with someone bumping into him. He saw the champagne splash against his suit even before he saw who it was that had collided into him. He was surprised to see it was Princess Caterina. “Hvað leið til að mæta aftur,” he commented in surprise. It was the first time he spoke in aɪslændic, his own language. He had spoken English so fluently that it could have passed as his native tongue. He shook the champagne off his arm just as Caterina began wiping at his jacket. “Det är okej. Det är bara champagne, oroa dig inte om det,” he shifted to Sveariken to assure the Princess that she need not fuss about his clothes. But when he realized he was speaking in a tongue that his bethroted might not understand, he shifted back to English. “It’s okay, it’s okay, ” he assured just as Arush stepped forward and immediately helped the Prince out of his jacket. “I will have this cleaned, your majesty.” Arush draped the jacket on his arm, bowed and moved away. ”Just a moment.” Niko stopped Arush before he could move away further. He took his jacket, reached into it and withdrew the journal Elizaveta had given him before he handed the jacket back to Arush. “Thank you, Arush.” The man gave Niko another smile and a bow before moving away from them.

A bird like coo came from Elizaveta as the entire scene unfolded and her attention was drawn back to her soon to be husband and Caterina; who had made a rather splash of an entrance. "Andas, det är okej. Vi har alla en stund," she said in a sympathetic voice. While the Grand Duchess may have been behind the border of her nation for so very long one of her passions was languages and linguistics. She spoke so very many fluently and took each one as a personal challenge to learn to better converse to royals, even from a young age.

Caterina raised an eyebrow in surprise. She only knew a few languages, but only those of the neighboring countries; Including aɪslændic. She wasn’t surprised that Nikolai held the same knowledge of both Sveariken and aɪslændic after all both nations were very close to each other; however, for Duchess Elizaveta to fluently understand and speak Sveariken, it surprised her, but it was also pleasant to know that Elizaveta wasn’t too much of a stranger when it came to Sveariken. It meant they could possibly form a strong friendship. ‘’ tack själv,’’ she mumbled softly before turning to her own maiden.’’Hello your majesty. I’m Lola and in your service,’’ she introduced as she took a slow bow to Caterina. Caterina gave her a firm nod and a smile. ‘’You’ve got some champagne on your cardigan.’’ Lola noted softly as she started to help Caterina out of her cardigan.

Niko turned his attention to Elizaveta, a pleased smile on his face. While it wasn’t strange for royalty to be multilingual, he felt a sense of pride knowing his future bride had taken effort to learn a language that was almost a native tongue to him, third to aɪslændic and English. He belatedly realized that the Duchess may have been splashed with champagne as well. “Did you get wet?” he asked, inspecting her.

Caterina’s sudden skin reveal bothered her only slightly; however, she turned, with the same confidence to the royal couple, as if the reveal hadn’t bothered her one bit. Maybe to some it looked like she preferred the reveal over staying a little more covered up.

Turning to Nikolai, Elizaveta shook her head. "No my dear, I am perfectly fine. A few drops but nothing that a simple napkin cannot tend to," she said and suddenly her arm was being dabbed by such a fabric, Abiza taking care of it promptly. Giving Nikolai a look that could only be taken as this is going to take some work, she then smiled towards Abiza. "Thank you Abiza. Are you hungry?" she asked as she took the napkin from the servants hands and knelt down gracefully as she started to clean up the wine that had managed to splatter to the floor. Abiza looking around, not sure if she should help the Duchess perform the task a servant normally would or not at this point. As Veta rose she handed the napkin out to her and Abiza nodded slightly. "Then, please. Dispose of that and enjoy some of the sweets at the table over there. We will talk later. Thank you for your assistance," she added before Abiza smiled and walked off.

Like Abiza, Caterina was yet again surprised by the Duchess act to wipe off the champagne; however, she made no move to help her. She wasn’t used to kneel down and do anything like wiping away the floor. Even if it was her mess. She kept her stance straight as she continued to watch Elizaveta, feeling slightly bad for not knowing how to help.

While Caterina was watching Elizaveta wipe off the liquid splatter on the floor, Niko found himself watching the blonde Duchess himself. She was so composed that he found her fascinating. He wondered if she felt nervousness and uncertainty beneath it all. Was it just a façade? A well rehearsed veneer of composure. Would she eventually relax in front of him and show him her true thoughts and feelings? He gave her a warm smile as she stood up and leaned his head slightly towards hers. “Your actions would no doubt confuse someone like Abiza, who is accustomed to serving,” he whispered to her. He lapsed into observant silence as Elizaveta turned back to Caterina, a thoughtful look on his face.

Letting out a short breath Elizaveta turned back to Caterina and smiled ever so warmly to her. "A pleasure to meet you Caterina, please call me Veta. You look truly surreal today. I have been excited to meet you and it is such a joy to know that I am not the only one who spills things around here. Your little event has put me at a comforting ease," she said in such a light hearted voice but with pure honesty as she spoke the words. Taking her hand she shook it softly and gave her a reassuring squeeze.

Caterina let out a chest rumbling laugh, leaning only slightly forward, as Elizaveta admitted to make mess like herself. She shook her head as she shook Elizaveta’s hand softly. ‘’ I believe we may have a bit more in common than being clumsy and Sveariken. I am surprised you have taken the time out of your days to learn our language. It is an honor really,’’ she said with a more genuine smile. She turned to Nikolai with a slight chuckle. ‘’ I’m terribly sorry. I got a little distracted with the snakes and dramatic entrances,’’ she said with a light tone, obviously opening conversation with the royal couple. Unlike a few months ago, when Caterina came in cautious contact with Nikolai; She seemed rather comfortable-- or friendlier this time around. Whether it was because she had spilled her drink all over him or because she had managed to warm up to him a little during their trip to the falls in Vale was a real mystery to anyone but Caterina.

"It is I who am honored. I adore various languages. The tongue of my lands can be rather harsh to those that do not understand it and I find a stunning sense of romance to others. Yours in particular. It just rolls off the tongue splendidly." Her voice was calm as she stood there, her arm lacing back through Nikolai's now that the little event had passed and things seemed to be calming. "And please, do not apologize. Had I not been standing still, I assure you I would have done more than spill just a chalice of wine. It would have been yours truly who would have ended up on the ground," she said with a light hearted chortle.

Niko was a little surprised by Caterina’s friendlier tone, having been accustomed to her aloofness during their first and only meeting. Nevertheless, he gave her a neutral smile. “I believe most were distracted with Prince Casimir’s grand entrance. Had I been walking, I would have collided with someone as well,” he reassured.

Smiling towards Nikolai she nodded in agreement before glancing around and then back over to Caterina. "It seems not introductions are needed between the two of you. Am I correct to assume you two know each other?" she asked trying to further the conversation. She had noted that neither Nikolai nor Caterina had introduced each other to the other so it was only reasonable to believe they had met before.

Niko nodded. "Svearike and Anduin are merely 1,970 km away from each other. Although neighbors, it was only months ago that our kingdoms entered into a permanent peace treaty along with the surrounding kingdoms of Celeste and Vale. Princess Caterina and I had the chance to be acquainted with each other during the enactment of the accord," he explained. Soon after, his thoughts strayed back to the little excursion to Vale's pristine water falls. He and the Sveariken Princess went with Prince Alistair, Princess Sinta and Princess Asheleigh of Vale after the treaty had been signed. The trip had been embarrassing to Niko and a light blush colored his cheeks at the memory. He cleared his throat. "I would not say that we know each other well but well enough not to need introductions."

Caterina nodded along as Nikolai explained. At the mention of the peace treaty a few months ago, she remembered their adventure through the beautiful, breath taking water falls. A deep blush emerged on her cheeks as memories of the day came rushing through her head. She also cleared her throat, rubbing her bare arm slightly, and straightened her back a little more, slowly pushing her hair off her face " The falls were breathtaking. Prince Nikolai should take you there as soon as possible," she said as she looked through her eyelashes at Nikolai, wondering if he too remembered. " I would say we are well acquainted," she added again with a nod and the same autocratic smile she always held, the color slowly fading from her cheeks.

The blush on both their cheeks was quite evident and it caused a brow to slowly arc over one of Elizaveta's eyes. It seemed they did know each other, she just wondered how intimately. The rush of color did not come to one's cheeks for no reason. "It seems that is rather obvious," Elizaveta said as the brow slowly returned to its normal resting place. "I will ask though, am I being faced with the additional challenge of not only coming to know my betrothed but having to, how shall I say, be on guard that my betrothed's heart is already claimed? Or should I be not be worried?" she asked. Her voice was the same as it had been then entire time. There was no harsh inflection within it. Perhaps she was being a bit confrontational to go ahead and lay those cards out on the table but it was in her nature.

Niko looked from Elizaveta to Caterina then back to Elizaveta. He shook his head as his lips curved up into a somewhat amused smile. True, he had always thought Caterina to be beautiful and had more than once considered inviting her to tea but the distinct distaste she had time and again showed him both confused and turned him off. "You need not worry about such things, Veta. My heart is claimed by no one but myself. At least for now."

The moment Elizaveta asked her question, it made Caterina both uncomfortable and definitely taken aback. How dare she-- or anyone-- think the worst of her? And what? A betrothal thief? And steal who? Nikolai of Anduin? Her stare turned straight forwardly hard as she stared at Elizaveta. As Nikolai replied, she let out a laugh. " Oh do not worry, Duchess Elizaveta. I have no intention of stealing your betrothed. That is not fair, is it." She said with a small smile and a little chuckle.

Listening to them she took them at their word, for her there was no reason to think otherwise. Elizaveta was the type to to give trust fully at first meeting, so she was open and honest to all. It took much for her to distrust anyone. "Then that is settled. I just prefer to have all cards out on the table is all. For me, being unattached to everyone here, I am a blank slate emotionally at this point. Had there been something I wouldn't want either of you to have been put out and would have seen if we could have entered into negotiations so you two could have been together," the Duchess said with a gentle wisp to her voice.

Caterina raised a perfectly arched eyebrow at the Duchess' words. She, unintentionally, let out a loud, sweet giggle, not out of mockery, but out of utter confusion and surprise. Changing up decided faith due to mere feelings was new to Caterina. What the nation wanted was what the nation would get. There was no "I" in such an occasion. "Do not worry, Duchess. There's nothing between Prince Nikolai and I, " she said, her voice coming out as it did naturally-- Pleasant to the ears and confident. " I do hope your emotions develop kindly toward both I and Nikolai, " she said sincerely as she titled her head slightly.

Caterina inwardly rolled her eyes as Elizaveta's question ran through her head once again. She didn't see it necessarily at all for her to ask, or even assume there was something. In Caterina's head, it was uncalled for and a bit offending, but after all the Duchess did announce it was her way of dealing with things. Caterina was there to make allies and friends, definitely not to fight, or take offense, over an allegation. She excused the Duchess for it was her first time coming in contact with Both Nikolai and Caterina. She already assumed it would take time for her to not crash with the other royalties of different cultures and personalities.

Elizaveta smiled warmly towards Caterina, no animosity showing or within her. "I thank you for your honesty and I must say, many woman when presented with such a question could have taken my simple inquiry as something more and been offended. I am so pleased to see you are of a much higher caliber than to be reduced to a petty reaction over a curiosity." She bowed her head slightly in respect towards the princess before raising herself once again. "I do hope you understand what provoked the question. To see such color flooding to both of your cheeks it could make any and all wonder but now that the air is clear we can press forward."

Niko remained silent during the whole exchange between Caterina and Elizaveta. He felt it was something that the ladies needed to discuss without him interrupting. He should, perhaps, narrate to the Duchess the embarrassing memory that had caused his cheeks to color. Maybe at a later, more opportune moment, he thought to himself.

Caterina let out a short, understanding nod. She didn't return her smile with the same genuineness. Caterina never gave a wholehearted smile anyway. When the Duchess lowered her head in respect to Caterina, out of courtesy Caterina lowered her head slightly to Elizaveta as well. " As I said, we just became well aquatinted and nothing more. " She said, reassuringly.

" Anyway, I must go on for now. I need to get to my own betrothal. Shawn Hunter. Pray for me. " Caterina said with a slight shrug. " I just hope I survive and nothing more. " She added with a small giggle, hinting at the twins' absurd history of pranks.

Elizaveta breathed in slightly and rolled her lips together in a bemused quirk of a smile. "Yes of course. You are in my thoughts dear Caterina. If he should try to pull any pranks, do let me know. I will be more than over joyed to help you plot a retaliation," she said in a light hearted manner as she reached out and squeezed the princesses hand gently.

Caterina giggled and squeezed the Duchess' hand lightly. " It's been a real pleasure. Let's get together for tea sometime, hm?" She suggested with the same autocratic smile, although her eyes shone slightly with appreciation to have come in contact with the Duchess and dare she say even Prince Nikolai. She turned to Nikolai and rested a soft hand on his arm. " I am terribly sorry once again. It's nice meeting you again. " She apologized before lowering her head slightly to the royal couple and turning on her heel to walk off.

Now being out of the cardigan and only in her body-hugging, figure-complimenting crimson dress, Caterina's confident step, swaying hips were even more evident. Caterina ran a hand to push her hair off her face as she took out the pins holding her loose bun together. She shook her head and her long, caramel hair smoothly fell against her back in soft, loose waves. She ran her hand through her hair, loosening it more until it reached its full length, which was almost at her tailbone. Anybody watching would have thought she was preening when she was just simply letting her hair down.

The incident with Elizaveta and Nikolai now long forgotten as she headed toward her betrothal, her stomach tying up in knots and not for the good reasons.

Niko returned Caterina's bow and bid her farewell. He watched her retreating back, admiring the way her hair fell down in waves and the way she moved. After a few seconds, he shook his head and chuckled amusedly. Pretty, amusing and confusing, he concluded to himself. The young Princess really did confused him. Most times she acted as though everything he said offended her but there were those few times that she acted quite friendly, like today. It made Niko wonder what she actually thought of him. He turned back to Veta. "I would probably sound arrogant and self-serving but I actually thought you were jealous earlier." The ghost of a mischievous grin played on his lips. He seldom acted friendly to people who he had only met but he decided to make Elizaveta an exception. She would be, after all, wedded to him in the near future and he believed it better to establish a good relationship with her even at this early stage.

Bidding the princess a fond farewell she glanced over to Nikolai and her brow rose again as she witnessed his lingering watch of Caterina's exit from the conversation. "She is quite the beauty is she not? The way her hair cascades, I can see why your eyes linger," she said nonchalantly before glancing around the room and seeing what was going on with the others. At his words she smiled softly and rested her free hand over his arm, patting it softly. "Oh my no. I feel with life, it is best to be upfront about matters and thoughts. If there were something between you I just would not have wanted to stand in the way. Love is a rare delicacy in this world, rarer still for those of royal blood. Call me a romantic, but if I could play match maker I would happily. I see no reason our nations, even if we were not betrothed could not be allies and benefit each other. A nation ruled by two whom adore each other is stronger for it," she said in a dreamy intonation before looking back up towards him.

Elizaveta's dreamy intonation made Niko look at her thoughtfully once more. For the first time since the announcement of his bethrotal, he mulled over the possibility of love between those in an arranged marriage and not merely a sense of duty as was his original opinion. A nation ruled by two whom adore each other is stronger for it. Yes. He agreed with her views. "Then let's use these three months to try and get to know each other and perhaps develop a relationship that would grow beyond mere friendship," he suggested.

Isobel Martinez
and
Casimir Antik D'strad

A collab with @ReapTheMusic

Isobel wasn't expecting much of a reply from the prince before her, perhaps an acknowledgement of her appreciation before turning his attention back to the beautiful women before him, perhaps that was why the dramatised bow was a slight shock to her. Perhaps it was a custom. They were all royals here, she supposed, all expected to show the label of nobility they wear and the pride of there kingdom. Isobel couldn't help, however, but stand stiff as Casimir brushed his lips on her hand. As well as the abnormality of it to Isobel she would have thought he'd already be focusing on the princess' his attention was on. Regardless, he was smooth, she would give him that.

At the mention of getting something to eat, Isobel's face enlightened a slight bit more, in the hustle and bustle of the morning between those butterflies unceasing in their banging inside of her she had forgotten to have breakfast despite a morning mug of tea and it was starting to hit her. The spread that the tables contained did look good. Anyway, she was meant to be mingling, right? Well, really she was meant to be getting to know and wed her betrothed but there can't be anything wrong with creating ties with the other royals, right? She was often too busy to do this sort of thing anyway, might as well get to it while she had the chance. Either way, it was better than standing alone in the corner again with only the brunette enlisted to serve her. Having a handmaiden still didn't sit perfectly right with Isobel. She decided to think of Ziria as a companion, yes. A friend of sorts, even if that's not what the servant saw. Straying from those thoughts she accepted Casimir's offer with a "Sure, I haven't eaten yet today, I think my stomach will start a riot if I don't soon," she chuckles, feeling her language was too modern for the way the prince was speaking, perhaps she was speaking at the wrong level for something so formal. Ugh. Why did this 'being surrounded by future rulers' thing have to be so hard. Or seem so at least.

Walking to the table of food Mai Mei remained with Casimir. Isobel stayed a few steps behind, attempting not to eavesdrop, remaining quite successful, but being nearby she was able to pick up some of the conversation. By the time they reached the table Isobel found herself next to the prince, which wasn't a bad thing as he went on to address her, piling his plate high. He wasn't going to eat all that food, was he? Sure, Isobel ate quite a startling amount, especially when her size was taken into consideration, however, to eat that much just wasn't natural, even for a boy of his height and definitely not for his physique. What was more impressive, however, was his failure to drop the plate in his hand despite his many movements.

"It is my pleasure... Princess Isobel." Isobel looked over the young royal, giving him a smile as he continues "I take comfort that my gift pleases the representative of Trèlins. You look..." She was about to cut in, clarifying on her thoughts of the gift but Casimir cleared his throat and straightened before saying "You look radiant, Princess."

The previous words taken out of her mouth Isobel looked at Casimir slightly dumbfounded as she tried to process what he said and ensure her mind wasn't playing tricks on her. A slight blush rises to her cheek. "Oh... thanks Prince Casimir... you're looking quite handsome yourself," she replies, nowhere near as smoothly as the prince in front of her. Casimir smiled in return as he took his place over to a small standing table and set it down. He turned back towards her after taking one of the morsels from his plate and eating it quickly, a small moan of approval at the flavor before he offered her his hand.

"Do you dance, Princess?" He asked her with a smile, looking into her eyes with subdued, but excited glaze to his own.

Isobel followed Casimir to the small standing table, placing her plate, which held significantly less food than the young prince's, on the table also. She was unable to help herself but chuckle softly at his moan of approval. Before she could start eating, however, he had already gotten onto asking questions.

"A bit, I suppose. Not very well but I haven't had to call any parametics in as a result yet so that's always a good sign," she chuckles, popping a sweet into her mouth, "And what about you Prince Casimir, are you much of a dancer yourself? It definitely wouldn't surprise me if so," At this, Casimir's eyes sparkled and he grinned at her. His opened offered hand having not been grasped, he took hers in his.

"How about I show you instead?" He asked, waiting for her consent. Isobel allowed him to take her other hand, her eyes unable to stray from the twinkle in his dark eyes.

"As long as you're careful, prince, I would hate for you to be my first casualty especially with some beautiful girl in this room soon to recieve your hand in marriage," At this, Casimir only smirked, placing her hand on his shoulder and his own hand on her waist, holding her opposite hand clasped within his own.

"Hmph," With that, he swept her along, for a moment making her body weightless as when he twisted them around, her feet didn't touch the ground. Having that flair over with, however, he allowed her to follow his lead, leading them in a fairly simple waltz after taking into consideration her words. He smiled down at her, his eyes not leaving her face as he matched his movements to the rhythm of the orchestra in the ballroom, taking them to the center of the ballroom where the others hadn't gone yet to dance in. "Lady Isobel, how fairs Trèlins?" He asked this with keen interest, his feet never missing a step.

Diminutive size rarely made dancing with a partner particularly easy, when one's partner is over a foot taller it becomes a bit of a task. Isobel, in that situation currently, stood on her toes, having to almost stretch to keep her hand on Casimir's shoulder. Nonetheless, he did not make the dance much of a task. After sweeping het around he led her across the floor in a simple waltz, which Isobel was thankful for, she doubted she'd be able to carry out more difficult moves.

Not missing a beat he led her across the dancefloor in graceful steps. Isobel was sure she stumbled on more than a couple of occasions. Casimir, however, ceased to stumble. She looked up into those dark eyes of interest, giving him a smile [color=FF4193]"With wars that have bounced around kingdoms I'm surprised we haven't been targeted, it's safe to say we're in a good state. Unfortunately there have been... rumours surrounding my father as of late but it fairs well, dear prince. And what about Ortha?" She asks, replicating his interest in her own hazel eyes. Of course, she was interested, perhaps not to the extent of her impromptu dance partner.

"Flourishing," Came the Othan' Prince's response as he lifted his arm and led her into a twirl before dipping her lowly, smiling at her. "I understand many here think my kingdom is not worthy of being here due to our size." He raised her back up, continueing the waltz with a sort of flair to his steps, picking up the motions with slight more haste to match the music, bringing her close to his face momentarily, his eyebrows arched. "What Ortha thrives in harmony inside the kingdom, the discourse of foreign affairs never taking us very seriously is rather... abhorrent. Don't they know size doesn't matter?" He extended his arm, letting go of her waist to walk around her, his other arm outstretched before going back to her, his former position resumed. "You would think others would understand that it doesn't take much to have a grasp of power."

As he dipped her Isobel returned him the smile and swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat. "We go through the same scrutiny, we're a small kingdom and a lot seem to see us... pointless. I suppose they don't see the benefits of creativity while people of Trèlins have designed many of the most beautiful buildings and some have thought up theories for scholars to work with. We're an important kingdom too!" As the music continued Casimir's steps became more complex and Isobel could to none but follow, completely reliant on his movements to keep her going. "So why has Ortha's prince been shipped off to marry a woman you likely don't know?"

"I'm afraid my cohort forbids me to say," He laughed, a glance at Deriez' direction would let her know whom he spoke of. His advisor had also taken to the refreshment table and was currently turning over what looked to be a croissant, deep in inspection. The song came to a close, ushering a final twirl of Isobel before he pulled back, giving her another kiss on her hand. "I'm afraid I've just been reminded that I need to speak with him privately. I shall see you around, Princess."

With that, he turned and went over to Deriez, speaking to him about something out of earshot of most, having grabbed his plate from the table and was currently taking his time eating his selection as the two of them conversed.

With a departing nod and a, "Right back at you, Prince," Isobel watched him walk deeper into the crowd, collecting his plate in the process before slipping away out of earshot of the others. Isobel shook her head as she returned to her table. The prince of Ortha was as charming as they say i seemed. She turned her attention back to her food, unable to simply forget his strong arms a graceful steps.

The sun had yet to rise over the cliffside when fur brushed against pale skin and a tongue lapped at the sleeping girls face. A hand lifted to push the nose from her face, but the stubborn animal wouldn’t move until the princess opened her eyes and looked at him. “What do you want Azazeal.” She grumbled, glaring at the wolfdog that was currently nuzzling against her side. The dog didn’t normally wake her up this early, not so long as the servants left them alone to speak. A while back the animal had woken up the girl in the middle of the night for her to find blood covering her sheets. A started scream and a near-death experience later, Talya was vomiting into the toilet while Klara called for the family doctor.

This morning though, the large canine was only waking her because of yelling coming from down the hallway of the massive castle. Sophie and their shared mother must have been arguing again; the youngest of the girls taking it the hardest that Talya was being sent away, and their mother thinking that Talya was a curse upon them. Unlike her older sisters Klara and Nina, Talya was not elegant and reformed, Sophie idolising and taking after that example. It would be good for Queen Gavrilla to have Talya gone for good, so that the rebellious princess couldn’t influence her daughter's anymore.

The girl rolled out of her bed, landing with a thud on the floor where she lay on her back with her arms spread, staring up at the ceiling until the dog was leaning over her again, concern in his eyes. He knew they were leaving and wasn’t fond of leaving the cold behind. Neither was Talya to be frank, but there wasn’t really anything she could do about it anymore. The people barely knew anything about it, and wouldn’t fight against the crown to keep her here, her sisters had no say and even King Ruslan wouldn’t go against his wifes wishes very often. With a sigh, Talya lifted herself off of the floor and began to get ready for her journey.

Several days later, the princess found herself sitting in the back of a black SUV, three wolfdogs on the floor while she stared out the window in sheer boredom. She was dressed, one leg crossed over the other, hat sitting on the seat beside her. She was alone in the back of the vehicle, completely aware of how to protect herself, and knowing that there would be no bullet, blade or explosive that could break through the walls or windows of the vehicle. She preferred to be alone for the remainder of her freedom, a lion chained and sold to a circus.

It wasn’t long before the line of trucks pulled over in front of the castle, the door opening for her to step out. Long legs emerged before torso and she dropped to the ground while the three animals jumped out beside her. The walkway was empty except for the men in suits around her, covering to make sure she was safe attending this. They would be here for a while, assuming that Talya lived through this little three month gathering.

Long strides, confident swagger, a sway in her hips that just wouldn’t stop. The Zeassian walked into the court to find most of the royal children already mingling with one another. The King and Queen sat in their thrones, gifts on tables around them. It was unfortunate that her own gifts were living and required space. Luckily, she had already sent word to the kennel master about the wolves she intended to bring with her. She stopped in the middle of the room, the large black wolfdog standing beside her while the other two sat slightly in front of her.

”I bring greetings from Ruslan and Gavrilla of Zeassa; regretfully they will not be able to attend the ball due to some unfortunate circumstances.”

The girl paused as she snapped her fingers beside her, the two wolfdogs in front of her standing and prowling towards the crown. Ears back, teeth barred, they stalked forward intent on their prey. With another snap they changed direction, no longer looking at the humans as if they were food. The animals were bred and trained to be larger than any other wolf in the world, loyal life companions. The two that now walked around the King and Queen to show off their pelts and rippling muscles, were a pair that had been mated and trained together as pups. They responded to commands well, recognizing their Alpha.

”I bring Karn and Lillum; a mated pair of our companion animals, as a gift from my family. I will personally teach whomever you choose in handling the animals.”

And with that, the princess gave a slight bow and walked away from the center of the room. Azazeal went with her wherever she went, a shadow in her shadow as she walked through the crowds to find a rather plush chair to sit upon. She was tired from the jet lag, the time difference so massive that Sophie would be sleeping back home right now. The wolf sat beside her, his head resting on her thigh while she scanned the room for the figures she refused to study. Coming into this she knew next to nothing about anyone, expecting to learn from first hand experience on her way.

Raven Aster Willow
Princess of Aciras

No sooner than when she took her place at the entrance to the royal palace did the guests start to arrive. First was Isobel Martinez, one whom she respected for her charity work, though never understand how she could pull of such a hair color, and that dress was something else. “The pleasure is mine, Isobel, she responded. Next was none other than the sophisticated, elegant Elizaveta Romanova, one who Raven had looked forward to meeting for ages. Seeing the Faberge Egg, Raven could feel her eyes widen. The gift was beautiful, and the princess had the urge to take it from the royal guard who was now holding it before Veta finished her greeting. “And I the same, Elizaveta.

And the cycle went on. Henry Peterson, keeping it short and sweet, which Raven responded to with a nod of the head and a half smile, then Sade whose hand she shook in greeting. “It’s a pleasure to meet you as well. Then there was Mai, dressed to kill. Raven had to applaud her on her use of the color red. Cara O’brien, simply dashing in the green dress of hers. Raven responded to her smile with one of her own. Princess Feora with her gift of the half-sword that Niklas was bound to enjoy. And then there was Nikolai, who Raven couldn’t help but to stare at, even if only for a second before forcing her eyes away. The gold watch and necklace that was given to her parents she could tell by the look on their faces was greatly appreciated. As Nikolai opened the box that held her gift at last, Raven let out a small gasp before recollecting herself. One thing was for sure: the young man had excellent taste. “The pleasure is all our, Nikolai. I hope you enjoy your stay. Next, John Drake, the young woman's betrothed. She smiled lightly at his compliment. ”Thank you, John.”

It was a vicious cycle, the arrivals. Raven would offer the guest a small smile, accept the gift, and on there way they would be. Upon hearing Caterinas words, Raven would once again smile before placing her other hand on top of the one that contained hers. “And I the same, Caterina.” Then Livianna, Edwin, Serafina clad in black, -something Raven had a small problem with. Then there was Fareeha, with her hawk, which Raven thought was marvelous. But who in their right mind would ever bring a snake with them to a royal gathering, much less have a snake on their person at all. Raven could feel the look of disgust and fear on her face. Shawn and Zach, two whom she had not really looked forward to meeting. No telling what hell they were about to cause in these upcoming months. Leon with his books that Raven accepted graciously, not having time to look at the titles. And then there was Caismir, with his kind gift. “I, myself, would be happy to accept such a gift. Thank you, Caismir. And last, but not least, Talya with Ravens second favorite gift of her wolfdogs. They were stunning. With arrivals just about over, Raven turned to Niklas.

”Ready,” she asked quietly, walking through the double doors to see the scene before her. Everyone seemed to be getting along nicely. She cleared her throat before speaking. ”Greetings, my fellow princes and princesses,” she began. ”Welcome to the Kingdom of Aciras. It is on behalf of my parents and I, as well as our ally, Königreich der Welten, that I should welcome you here. We offer you full reign of the Castle grounds.
For the next three months, this is your home, and you are free to use it as you see fit. Upstairs you can find your bedrooms. Here we have added a few… decorations from your kingdoms to make you feel more at home. Once again, I hope you enjoy your stay.

Serafina 'Ariel' Gray of Norden

Interacting with: Shawn @HaleyTheRandom and Fareeha @OfWindAndRain

Ariel wasn’t having the best time here at Aciras so far. The people seemed to… formal for her liking, though she had to remind herself that she shouldn’t be so quick to judge. Ariel noticed Caismirs entrance, though wasn’t sure if the young man knew about her, therefore decided to keep quiet as she smiled slightly his way. She would have to thank him for the handmaiden later.

The current task that she was to deal with was the other young woman that had approached her. Looking her up and down, Ariel couldn’t help but stare in astonishment at the dress that she wore, as well as the necklace around her neck. However, what caught most of her attention was the snake. Ariel took a few small steps back, as not to be rude, giving a sheepish grin.

”Indeed I am,” she responded. ”Of course I don’t. As a matter of fact I prefer my middle name. It’s nice to meet you, Fareeha.” Seeing the way that she treated the servant, she couldn’t help but think that it was a tad rude, though Fareeha had a nice point. Hearing her next words, Ariel let out a small giggle. It was comical the way she could switch from telling off a servant and simple small talk conversation. “I believe we were just finishing the common introductions. Mind if I ask what’s up with the snake?

Fareeha Amari

Her face tightened for a moment, not taking kindly to being laughed at so extravagantly by such an insignificant peacock of a brat. His people made their trade in silk and gold from a small nation, with hardly more than one significant city. He just laughed at the heir of the largest oil producer on the planet. There was rude through bluntness [and forced diplomacy], like her, and then there was stupid. She was pretty sure Casimier was a little stupid.

Fareeha smiled at the woman, a small thing that nonetheless softened her face. She watched Ariel carefully, pleasantly, not entirely unaware of what her- and others'- thinking must be on her rough treatment, but it didn't matter too much to her. They can think what they will; she didn't care. If they had a problem with it, they could tell her.

So she just replied, easily and friendly- "Ah, yes, of course. In that case- it's lovely to meet you too, Ariel. You do seem like a sweet girl- I'd like to get to know you better. Maybe we can hang out sometime, you think? As for my snake..."

She raises her wrist to her face, Habi gently raising his head to stare at Fareeha. His mottled scales reflected the ballroom's light dully as they moved, and Fareeha reached up to gently rub the base of the snake's head.

"My little Habi. 'Calm spirit,' is what her name translates to, and she's my little love, my habeeb. She'll never bite you, either- she's a ball python, or royal python. My ancestors would wear them like I am now, as wards against evil, and symbols of protection. Like my tattoo- the Eye of Horus."

She, naturally, raised her head slightly to look back at Ariel, arching the eyebrow above the eye that was underlined by the mark.

"Other people have a dog, or a cat. I have my hyena, and my snake. Most people think I'm crazy for loving them so much, after what I've been through. But just look at them? For most, they're embodiments of evil. For me, they're just another animal. Like fire. They can be very dangerous if handled incorrectly, but terribly beautiful and amazing if done right."

She offered her hand out towards Ariel, a slight hint of dreaminess from her snake-talk.

"Wanna pet her? She's only bit me twice in the three years I've had her."

Liviana Traianus

interacting with Edwin Drakewine @darkwolf687 and indirectly Casimir D'strad @reapthemusic

Liv had, to be completely honest, zoned out for about three minutes. There was just so much going on, she had to unfocus herself to process it. And of course, the moment she zoned back in she saw a young man – a very imposing one at that, crossing the room towards her. She felt a faint flush across her cheeks as she realized it was none other than Edwin Drakewine, her betrothed.

As he stopped in front of her, decidedly terrifying in his military dress, she almost recoiled a bit. She knew she was tiny but… gods, why was she expected to marry someone who was actually tall?

Imposing figure or no, he seemed cordial enough, even offering her a bow. She was quick to curtsy to him, arguably a bit deeper than necessary – but then, she mused, there’s hardly anything wrong with showing extra respect. She was definitely surprised that he greeted her with her people’s traditional greeting.

“Ave, Prince Edwin. It is an honor to meet you.” She hesitated for a moment, shifting awkwardly. She straightened her spine, rising up onto her toes out of a pathetic habit to try to add a few more centimeters to her height. It was no use, the size difference was still laughable, as was the awkwardness palpable in the air. She coughed nervously, wincing a bit at the rattling. Gods curse her health problems.

“So… Is Aciras to your liking, thus far? Was the trip enjoyable?” She tilted her head a bit, while mentally cursing that she needed to almost crane her neck to properly look at Edwin.

Thankfully she was saved from any further awkwardness by the flashy, overly flamboyant arrival of one Casimir D’strad of Ortha. She lost much of his ramble, having quickly turned her gaze back to Edwin, and so was entirely not expecting the quiet, mellow voice by her ear.

She nearly jumped out of her skin – as it was she jolted, bumping against Edwin which caused her to blush and repeatedly apologize. Slowly she turned to face the person who had just spoken to her. A rather pretty Orthan girl – tall and willowy, with deeply tan skin, shoulder-length black curls, and slightly uptilted golden eyes. She wore a simple white dress with a minimal amount of gold jewelry.

“My name is Asavi Evenze. I will be in your service for the next three months by the order of Prince Casimir. Is there anything I can do for you, Princess Liviana?”

Liv couldn’t help but blink for a moment, confused. She turned to face Casimir’s general direction, offering him a curtsy from across the room, though she was moderately sure he wouldn’t see. Finally she turned back to Asavi and said, “Thank you, Asavi, but I am not certain that there is anything that I need at this time—Actually… if you could ensure that my belongings have all been taken to my rooms? And if it would not cause too much trouble, if you might unpack my clothing – leave the wooden box from the suitcase on my bed, along with the thin black folder.” She realized her order might be taken as too demanding, so she flashed an apologetic smile.

Asavi offered a small smile and a graceful curtsy, seemingly unperturbed by the abrupt, awkward nature of it, and turned to go do as she was bid. Liv turned back to face Edwin with an apologetic smile plastered on her face, though she was half-expecting him to be dealing with his own servant.

Nikolai & Elizaveta

Collaboration between: @Kyrisse & @Lady Amalthea
Interacting with: @alexfangtalon

"Yes of course, I believe nothing would please me more," she said softly as she looked up at him before her attention turned and she looked around. There were several that she wished to be introduced to and speak with but she was not one to rush into things. Most all where there now. Some speaking, others not. She wanted to speak with Casmir and thank him but he seemed to be in the middle of several conversations in the meantime. It could wait, it was best not to barge into a situation.

Perhaps it would be better to introduce one's self to one who was not so pre-engaged with other conversations. Though she understood why some where not speaking with others as of yet. To observe how others reacted was a simple yet effective mean to learn more about another. Yet, introductions would need to be made to all eventually. Seeing Leon still standing alone nodded over to his direction. "Until the crowds part like the Red Seas around Casmir perhaps we should go introduce ourselves to Prince Leon? We can give our gratitude to Casmir when things are more peaceful," she suggested as her eyes rose to his.

Niko looked around just as the Duchess did. And like her, he wanted to show gratitude to the Orthan Prince. While he really didn't need any more servants, he would politely make use of Arush's services as it was the duty commanded of the man. And as crown prince, no one knew more about duties and responsibilities better than him. But Casimir was preoccupied as he started dancing with the pink haired Princess. Thanking him will have to wait. His eyes met Elizaveta's. "Yes, we will delay thanking Casimir for now," he agreed and then looked towards Leon. Leonard Fords of Krieg-Königreich, Niko recited his name in his mind. He knew the Prince's face well from the dossier he had reviewed several days prior to this event. The Prince of a kingdom that came to be through a military coup, he remembered his thoughts on him. Would he be a leader that would advocate aggression and warfare or would he lead his kingdom towards a different future?

"With so many coming in, being able to greet each royal will definitely take some time and perhaps some skillful dancing about," she said softly as her hear craned about like a swan; looking this way and that. More had arrived. Yu Liang had entered quietly and made his way over towards John to speak with him. Perhaps it wasn't such a splendid time to speak, Elizaveta didn't want to intrude.

Talya had arrived as well, Elizaveta knew she would have to take a special moment for her; she owed the young royals parents her life for taking her in during the revolution. Yet she did not just want to rush the girl on arrival, it would be uncouth in her book. Perhaps Leon was the best choice for now.

Turning her head she smiled gently towards her betrothed and patted his arm gently. "Lead the way my dear."

Greeting people he knew nothing about except for their faces, their names and a little information taken from their dossiers was not really something Niko looked forward to. But it was something he knew he must do as the only heir to Anduin's throne. Duty and responsibility to his kingdom. This gathering would bring forth allies and he has to be in his best manner to greet each. There was no space to consider what he really wanted to do. The first thing he did was to greet his bethroted. He had not minded being pre-arranged to marry a complete stranger but he did mull it over several times, worried that he might fall short of what his soon to be queen expected. But the meeting went fairly well, pleasant even. He hoped all encounters will be as pleasant as the first one.

He gave Elizaveta a smile and led the way towards the young prince standing alone at the sides; Elizaveta following in step with her betrothed as they crossed the room over towards they next introduction. He gave Leon a polite smile and a small bow of respect. "Prince Leonard," he greeted. "I had looked forward to meeting you. My name is Nikolai Johanssen and the beautiful lady on my arm is my bethroted, Elizaveta Romanova." Niko had just introduced the two of them when Princess Raven began speaking to all the guests. He turned his attention to their host, listened intently to her welcoming remarks before turning back to Leon.

Smiling graciously towards Leon she was about to speak when Princess Raven came in and made her announcement. The Duchess held up a finger to pause the situation for a moment as she turned her attention to their host. Nodding slightly as she spoke before turning back to Leon and continuing the introductions and pleasantries. Bowing her head in reverence she gave a curtsy before rising her eyes back to his. "It is a great honor to finally be able to meet you sire. I have read many wonderful things about your nation and hope to learn more during our stay here," she said in a gentle voice as she extended her hand to his lithely with a slight bend to her delicate wrist.

As nervous as she had thought she would have been meeting each new royal here she was finding herself quite comfortable in the situation; far more than she would have expected. It seemed those hours of her grand mother drilling her under various situations and questions combined with the daily time spent with her people had paid off. In the back of her mind she had to wonder if the nerves would catch up to her eventually but right then she was just so ever glad that the butterflies she had been worried about had yet to make an appearance.

Leon Fords
Prince of Krieg-Königreich

Interacting With: @Lady Amalthea & @Kyrisse

Leon quite enjoyed standing off to the side somewhat unnoticed. He caught the occasional glance from a servant and even a few from the other royals. He took time to observe the whole area when he noticed Prince Casimir standing at the top of the stairs. That was when the man gave his over the top introduction.

When the gift was presented to all of them a woman rushed over in front of Leon, but before the girl could speak Leon held his hand up, "I apologize. I shall not be needing your services. I don't like having other people doing certain things for me. The things I speak of are generally what those of your profession do. So, instead of serving I would request that when my mother arrives you become her handmaiden for the time that she is here. Again, I apologize if I seemed rude. It is not my intention. It's just that I would be uncomfortable having a servant." At this the young handmaiden had a face of sadness. She had not expected this, but seemed grateful that at the very least she hadn't been completely turned away like the servant sent to Princess Fareeha was about to experience.

Leon looked in the direction of the outspoken Princess. Despite her saying it kindly she had to at least realize doing that in a way everyone could hear was not good for anyone. Leon inner frown grew even more when Casimir responded in front of everyone. He didn't understand why some people seemed to have such a desire to cause drama.

He sighed and turned his attention back to the rest of the royals within the room. His attention was drawn to a group of three. Prince Nikolai, Princess Elizaveta, and Princess Caterina. He noticed that something must have happened as three servants were moving rapidly around the three royals. Other than that though the only other thing that was really happening within the room was the dance between Prince Casimir and Princess Isobel. Leon knew little of the pink-haired beauty, but he was fairly certain she wasn't the one Casimir was betrothed to. Leon didn't know how wise that move was. How could anyone think highly of such a flippant man. Leon hoped that Casimir wasn't like how he portrayed himself.

Leon had decided to finally start moving around and greeting the various royals around when he noticed to royals he was familiar with on a knowledge level coming in his direction. He bowed in greeting to Prince Nikolai and Princess Elizaveta. He was going to respond before he noticed Princess Raven about to speak. He listened to her words and when she brought up the fact that they'd be staying there for three months it struck him odd as it had ever other time the idea it was mentioned. Now was the first time he'd been outside of Krieg-Königreich let alone stayed outside for an extended period of time.

When Princess Raven finished the three turned back to each other to converse. Elizaveta spoke first and then Leon followed, taking her hand and bowing his head a little to give it a kiss. Once he rose back up he returned to his hold stance and said, "It is an honor to finally meet the two of you as well. I have heard many great things about each of you, and hope to get to know both of you further throughout these next few months." Leon found that these two coming to him first was quite interesting. He had thought that most would attempt to avoid him, but these two chose to come right up to him. Maybe the rest of the royals would be similar.
