@Oraculumin most sci fi, blue weapons are the good guys, green neutral, and red bad. That's true in star trek and star wars.

Which is more or less the cosmetic factor I mentioned. Note that the colour of the lasers does not tendentially alter how effective they are; the distinction is there purely for identification purposes, or to occasionally serve as a plot point - which I understand is how it would work in this role-play.

I know this'll be denied but id pitch it anyway.

It seems like the majority of the nrp is focused on a NATO coalition of sorts. Would it be cool if I made a nation capable of taking it on? Sortof the nrp's soviet union for lack of better terms.

Most of you probably don't know me but I'm a fair player, I don't war for the sake of war and only play for story. My initial plot arc was that nation reaching out to be peaceful, be part of the community per se'

That role has already fallen to the two Golgotha players. Honestly, what we need is more Unity Accord members.

Guys, please try and make nations that are relative to the roleplay-this is a very specific era in the universe lore and sheets should reflect the attitudes and opinions of nations dealing with the wholesale slaughter of billions. Sorry for being so short-but I think the information I've supplied is sufficient for people to figure out what needs to be included. Make your nations relevant to the roleplay.

Like that Preciprik guy said, the Golgotha kind of fill that role, but I'm seriously surprised nobody has mentioned creating an opposing council. Sort of the warsaw-pact to my NATO if you will. The golgothans of the Resurgent Mandate are fanatical killers-not necessarily politically opposed to ideas put forward by the Galactic Council. Maybe something to think about?

@PolybiusSo far I've only talked about the internal relationships of my races. I'll get to the their views on the Accords later, when I discuss their ships meeting one or more of the other player nations.

I think first contact will essentially be a field trip/expedition where the living ships are visiting a new star system they didn't know was inhabited. Dozens of large ships dropping out of hyperspace in your system and releasing hundreds of smaller ships would look like an invasion, though.

@PolybiusOf course they don't like that over a billion sentient beings were murdered, but they don't believe in banning technology. They would support measures to stop it from being used to harm others, but don't think that your measures do that without violating the freedom of sentient beings too much.

My view on the matter would be that directly opposing the Unity Accords would appear to many nations as an excessive risk while the threat of the Mandate still exists - fragmenting might leave them vulnerable, after all. However, if strong dissensions arise in the Council, the possibility of an organised schism occurring at some point would not seem to me to be unlikely as the memory of the war grows more distant and nations gain more confidence. Then again, disagreements may stem from the current situation as well - for instance, the Palathyn Collective being, as we see, in favour of combating the Golgotha with more radical methods, which the UA are against.

Right. The Palathyn would be (in my mind) the prime candidate to spearhead such a movement. I think the Accords are going to fall to shit faster than the Llyr Empire to be honest.

@Polybius

I think my nation might stop supporting the Unity Accords first. They don't like anyone there so they might leave the U.A fairly quickly without anything bad really happening.

@Polybius

What did you really expect? I mean the Unity Accord is formed of so many different species, some which dislike or consider themselves superior to other species. It won't work that easy, especially since my nation is half the size of the previous Llyr Empire.
