Oh, I think I got confused then. My bad.
I'm really failing hard at the moment. Maybe I should just shut up.

Happens to everyone, don't get too bothered about it.

Hm... Really not looking forward to trying to get Miku's plane landed.

Even if we have the perfect soundtrack choice for the moment.

I'm not looking forward to figuring out how to get that thing repaired in less than two hours.

Swap the engine and patch the elevator linkage. Assuming nothing else goes wrong.

But if she's grounded, she's grounded. Partly because I was planning to have her go into some sort of nervous lockdown once it's all over.

Well, unfortunately for you two, here's the gist of what's to come.

We return to base after the reinforcements from McNealy AFB arrive, we land for about one hour as the base personnel rearm, refuel and repair our aircraft and give a short briefing, then we're immediately back up in the air for an emergency mission. Remember those "other attacks" the Enemy Air mentioned?

OK, I guess the PTSD will have to wait.

Maybe there's some spare F-5s or something in the hangar.

Every time I sit down to write a post I end up looking at aircraft pictures for an hour.

Managed to find an interesting pic of a Jaguar with wingtop pylons:

I always found that fascinating. You can use that as an excuse to carry a few more missiles in the RP, if you'd like. I'm fine with it.

Yes, that's how RAF Jaguars carried their AAMs; the underside hardpoints were used for drop tanks and air-to-surface weapons.

The Jag is one of my all-time favourite fighter jets, BTW.

Overwing pylons are a Jaguar speciality :D
I actually really like the Jag. I remember seeing them at airshows before they retired them from RAF service :(
And trying to teach an American pilot how to say 'Jag-u-ar' the English way, which he took in very good humour.

Actually, I really like counter-insurgency light attack aircraft and close-air-support aircraft that are prop powered as well as jets ^^;; the OV-10 Bronco and IA-58 Pucara are two of my favourites. I guess I'm more of a mud-mover than a dog fighter.

might give me that needed edge until I get something a little nicer. Gonna go take a look at my character sheet because i have a sneaking suspicion that I put down the weapons pylon count rather than the payload weight.

Don't forget the granddad of both, the L-19 Bird Dog. No guns but it did wonders for guiding other attack craft. A Local airfield uses them to tow gliders.

The Lightning had them too, I think, but only for fuel tanks.

And before anyone asks the only reason why Miku isn't flying a Jag is because the only picture I found for her that I liked was in a Navy uniform.
