The door closed was followed right after by a butt being plopped on a bed and a back and skull meeting the wall. And that was followed by a downright exhausted sigh. He stared down at a certain little notebook...All he could do was groan as he snatched it up and flipped it open, writing in big letters on an empty page "Big Green Aleph(The Hero) Has Fucking Resurrect." Right afterwards, he closed it immediately and peered over at his squirrel companion. It was obvious to him that the little guy dozed back off, thankfully not disturbed by all the noise outside. Good thing he didn't slam the door huh? Ease's eyes went back to his lap and his head quickly went into his lap as he let out yet another exhausted sigh.
"Another god damn game changer, huh?"
The entirety of now from yesterday has been nothing but revelation after revelation with barely a break in sight. Hell, not even just revelations right? The god damn massacre on that street, Aya vanishing, getting cut thanks to Kyle trying to play "hero" when literally everyone else was obviously better at that task, etc. It's all just been more and more shit piling up on each other. Aleph and the elf from yesterday both had Resurrect and he's encountered multiple Earthlings on a day that seemed so regular. It's just been nothing but bomb after bomb! It would be kinda cool if it wasn't for everything turning out shit over and over again. God things used to be so different...simple. When did all this get so hectic? Oh yeah...just from yesterday. Ironically, sorta like when he first got here. That reminded him actually...He peered his head back up and did a quick inspection of the room and let out a quick nostalgic chuckle.
Didn't he stay here for awhile back when he first arrived in Lugunica?
Yeah...That was right. He was still dressed up in his sweatshirt and jeans at that point. His mind was all over the place at the time too...Hell he was pacing back and forth around the floor trying to figure out what was going on, slapping himself occasionally as if to see if one would finally make him open his eyes to an emptied bar and a pissed off bartender. God, he reeked of booze too...Poor everyone else huh? He let out a chuckle at that thought. More importantly he was panicking like it was the end of the world. To him though...it kinda was, wasn't it? Even now, he can't blame himself for panicking. After all, look where he is now. Been a year later and he's still no closer to being home. But then...there was what he was thinking about.
That bar...It felt so far away now. Not in his most insane dreams except this one would he ever have thought his fondest memories would be the moments before being utterly smashed before his conscious faded. Oh and that weird ass handshake him and his then drunken buddy Evan decided to invent. How did it go? He outstretched his hand...Let's see...Fist up, then down. Double pound, that stupid gun thing people did with their forefinger and middle finger after that, right? And then a final fist pump. Oh God they were both smiling and laughing at it like it was the coolest thing. It was obvious both of them were well past drunk at that point. When did they get so lightweight that they drunk after a few cups of Smirnoff? Okay, more than a few cups, but still. Huh...It almost felt like he was back there. Just being a stupid drunk guy...He let out yet another chuckle, this one in more sorrowful nostalgia than humor found in hindsight.
The sound of faint arguing was all but lost to him. Instead his hand outstretched and grabbed at his cup, sipping down more vodka. He clanked glasses with Evan for a second, just so he would chill for a minute with all his talks about how his finals were a bitch to handle. Course he'd be coy on it, saying how he'll continue talking about it just to spite him a bit. He just let out a drunken groan and told him to tell him about that girl he was dating again and actually not change topics out of nowhere for once. Evan just scratched his head and said the usual "Oh yeah, oops" he kinda just expected when they were drunk. And Ease being the drunk douche he was was asking her about how she apparently has the best ass on campus. And Evan being the same drunk douche commented about how yeah she did, but, unlike his friend, he still had some class. The girl was kinda changing him a bit. He was softer than he used to be. Aaaaand for some reason the girl was way more confident than she used to be. Ease did that stereotypical drunk thing and was going all "Dude that's so awesome! You're so damn great dude you deserve a girl like that man!" and shit with Evan just laughing it off and saying "Calm down for a sec, I haven't even told you about how I-"
That faux-dream was soon shattered by a loud grunt and the sounds of a chair splintering far outside the room.
Ease looked back and forth as he broke out of his trance. It felt like he was somewhere else for a second...Nah, more like a minute if anything. What was-Wait wait, focus. Loud noises, need to check that out. He can worry about whatever the hell happened later.
Picking up his sword sheathe and band and putting it onto his back, he ran out into the tavern's bar area, hand grasped onto his sword grip. Except, instead of an ensuing bar fight, it was actually something more like a bar fight abruptly being ended. And it was Duncan who ended it with one downright insane push while, as Ease could see, straight out the door laid his terrified taller opponent on a broken fruit stand. Ease's hand simply dropped from his sword and to his side as he just saw the guy who was shorter than he was hand a guy, who could probably bench press the two of them, his own ass. This happened. This actually happened. And Ease could only stare for a second.
Oh wait, a customer just went flying out the door. Literally. Uh oh.
He quickly turned over to Yoshi and scratched his head nervously as he pursed his lip. "Uh...Okay, I can't really explain what just happened. Kinda wish I could, but thank god the door isn't broken though." He rubbed his frow annoyed, but the moment he stopped, he simply put a bag of coins on the table near Yoshi. "Look, sorry Yosh. I don't know if he was gonna buy more or not, but to hell with it. Consider it just on the house from me for staying the night, okay?"
