I hope to get a post up soon! And apologies about the ice wall debacle, I'm usually a bit more observant of content like that.

@Lady Amalthea@Sigil

I think at this point We ought to just kill off Thomas.
He's earned the ire of quite a few prominent party member.
There's little reason for him to continue with the group.
Else I could have Thomas apologize and just leave.

Which might be the best the could do at this point.

@The Grey Dust honestly, I think he serves a great part in the story. The fact that he doesn't have much popularity within the group makes it that much cooler, imo ... Lerraina also gave him an out, or at the very least someone to interact with for your next post.

Eh I don't think he'd do too well with 3 of the big party members breathing down his neck and ready the rip his throat out.
Although Thomas might be able to remove the ice wall with a fire-based spell.

@Lady Amalthea @sigil just to make sure I've got it right, Lerraina would have been able to see orc activity on the other side of the wall? Or how much of that would she be able to see? I planned on her being pretty vague or unsure within hher r next post, but I also want to make sure I'm correct on the information:p

How many of their orc company is actually still alive lol

@The Grey DustI like Thomas, and so does Calanon. It's just the leader trio that seems to take affront to him.

Oh Christ on a cracker, who gives a flying fuck if a character liked or not. It's not a factor in whether they live or die, or if they are useful or not. Few things in rp tick me off more than when people want their characters killed off because other characters don't like theirs. Sorry but not sorry.

Lerraina would be the only one with a constant and direct line of sight to what was going on outside of the wall. Everyone else caught tiny glimpses in comparison. So far as how many of the entire group of Orcs remain, I would refer you to Lady A. I have only been working with the guard out front for purposes of the fight.

@POOHEAD189

Leader trio? I always figured Keystone was just highly outspoken. If the group's looking to him for guidance, that's an interesting group dynamic. Troubling, but interesting. Maybe it's his ironically charming underclass upbringing, or his ability to fell trees via styxian ass roar that's earning his position of leadership among the masses. Hell, we elected a president with fewer qualifications just recently.

If I recall properly, Cremwise put Kyra in charge. Then again, that contract went bye-bye the same moment a bear fell out of the clear blue sky and wrecked his wagon. Perhaps this needs to be addressed IC.

That aside, let me be clear that Keystone's opinion of the group (including Thomas) is influenced purely by IC actions. I've even got a running cheat sheet of stuff he's observed to keep his reactions consistent with character attitude and history. I should actually commend Grey his choice of character and the decisions that said character made. Keystone had only ever tried to choke out a party member that soon after meeting them once before - said character was putting the rest of the group in danger by giving away their position with constant, willful bickering about an issue of pride.

Now, if Grey feels that the only character worth playing is one that is immediately accepted by the group without conflict of personality, as a friend and equal regardless of attitude or psychological quirk, without first proving one's self, then he is missing one hell of a roleplaying opportunity for the sake of convenience.

IC actions will result in IC reactions from the other characters. They won't always be positive. Case in point: backing away from the group while keying up a spell, without actually telling them the intent of the casting first might be seen as an act of aggression, considering the situation.

Speaking to this situation, though: it makes sense that a character with zero skill as a healer would try to forcefeed a potion to an unconscious person, thinking it would be helpful. It also makes sense that friends of the unconscious person will be suitably upset when she almost dies because of it. Now, if Thomas feels safer now wandering off in undead infested woods by himself in the middle of an Orc/Human armed conflict than the group, that is his decision to make.

It's much less of being accepted but rather not feeling threatened.
I don't think he'd feel rather safe after all the antics which occurred.
Given that Kyra just stated she'd personally rip his throat out, and Keystone's been in a tussle with Thomas before, I don't think he'd be too keen on getting killed in his sleep. Which may occur as far he knows since after all this is their first night/dawn together I think.
Honestly not sure what to do since IC'ly Thomas would probably leave.

If it makes you feel any better Grey, I had some ideas to have Ntaj approach Thomas to befriend/keep an eye on Thomas. While Ntaj doesn't have a positive view about magic, he's keen enough to realize Thomas just needs a bit more guidance and support. Dynamic duo and all that. Besides, what with not Having thomas and Ntaj being the new guys in the group, it'd help for the newbies to stick together.

@The Grey Dust To me this looks like an Rper issue as opposed to a character one. We had a similar issue when we 1x1'ed. Soon as you character was in the best of light he (and you by extension) started this "walk away" from group. Seems to be a cycle with you.

Thomas screwed up, big time, numerous times. Consequences come from mistakes, end of story. Why Kyra is pissed, Sana is a childhood friend.

As far as a character being hated, doesn't matter. I have other rps where characters aren't just hated, they are down right loathed. Have been for nearly a year. They are still part of the main group. (Dick in TWD)

@Lady Amalthea

Oh it's not that. I assure you.
Our 1x1 was a matter of time and commitments, I couldn't quite satisfy.
To which I still do regret it had happened, but I think 7 days-10 days per 1x1 post and an inability to hammer out good plotlines wouldn't sit to well with you at the time. Again, my apologies for it, even now I'm just barely hanging on with the RPs here.

I'm fine with everyone OOCly and I do appreciate everyone giving me options.
I just find it exceedingly hard to reason ICly why Thomas should stay.
It's a OOC-IC dilemma, on one hand yes I do realize Thomas has options, but Thomas doesn't realize this ICly.
So I'd have to give him a reason to stick around without transcending his character.

It's a bit of his own guilt added to it as well I suppose.
Which makes it even harder, despite what options are provided.
I'd have to have Thomas somehow think himself a contributing party member after Kyra sort of broke it to him.
So he's doing more harm than good at this point and reasons they are better off without him :)

Either way, I do enjoy roleplaying with everyone here.
It's a battle of Character vs Roleplayer :X

@The Grey Dust

I get ya, I had a similar issue with my first character here. His personality and actions just didn't fit the group dynamic and in the end I chose to make him leave partly because he didn't work with the group, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, I didn't like using him.

If this delimma is because you don't feel Thomas has been enjoyable for you to use because of what happened IC, then I guess there's nothing for us to stop you. Certainly can't expect us to change for you sake. Re roll and try someone you're more comfortable with. If it's just a thing because you don't know what to do with Thomas, that isn't a problem but an opportunity. Cuz I got ideas for Thomas.

@SigilI referred to them as the 'leader trio' because when Calanon first showed up and Kyra was off scouting, people didn't tell him to wait for her. They told him "talk to Keystone" which meant (to me at the time) he has some authority in the group.

If I am speaking my mind, and I might as well...

I will say that other than Thomas telling...who was it- *goes to look* Keystone (huh, thought it had been at one of Lady A's characters) to 'simmer down,' he's done nothing but be a help, albeit a long winded one. The only things he's been guilty of was not following tactics other characters had deemed gospel in their minds, and somehow threatening Sana's life by giving her a potion. Even if she is unconscious, her state after that fight was seemingly dire and...Idk, people (at least in fiction. I've never tried to give someone sleeping/unconscious a liquid before) who are given liquid when conked out certainly sputter, but I felt like people were acting as if he was murdering her (IC of course). Which could be apart of their character traits somehow, but otherwise it seemed like Thomas was getting flak for little reason, from my point of view. I could be wrong of course, but I can see why Grey Dust thinks his character needs to step on eggshells despite not truly earning such a position.

Okay, putting an end to this.

I could go back and pull up the numerous things that Thomas did to piss off character's (Sat, Keystone, etc) before the fight happened, things the character ignored during the fight (not going against what he was asked but just down right ignored via the rper and were not responded to), and the links posted about how to not give an unconscious person liquids to prove the reactions in IC - but since they have been overlooked at this point I know it won't matter.

Conversation on this is ended in OOC. Want to continue privately or in chat with those that care to continue it, which is not me, fine but hence forth anymore OOC posts on this topic will be considered "pouring gas on the fire" - so we're ending this before the discussion gets out of hand.

@IcePezz About what your character can see from her vantage point, she will be able to see around 3 dozen "zombied" Orcs shuffling into the woods on the other side of the wall. (Only she can see this, the characters inside the wall are unaware of them.)
