Any further interest, folks? Keks has stated his own opinions and desires, of course, but one player does not an RP make.

@Rockette@FantasyChic Glad to have you both on-board. Any ideas on characters? As a reminder, we will need at least some Shadowhunter PCs, since they are arguably the most important faction in the setting, being that it's named after them and all.

@BCTheEntity - My initial impression was for a Shadowhunter, which will definitely take as my primary focus, I have some rough concepts stewing about.

Throwing in my interest as well. I am thinking Shadowhunter. Of course, if more Mundanes/Downworlders are needed, I can do that as well.

Sorta interested. Will make a honorable and romantic faerie prince if those are allowed to be played. Maybe covertly take over a city or two.

@Eyeruption Faeries are allowed, but remember, good understanding of the setting and writing ability are both especially important for faerie characters. They are unable to lie, but they often speak misleadingly or in riddles, and use their inability to lie to make their manipulations all the more effective. So basically, you may do it if you think you're good enough.

Oh, that's an interesting topic btw.
What exactly constitutes a lie from a Fae's point of view? Anything that actively contradicts what the fey in questions considers to be the reality?
Can a fey point at a green object and say "this is red" if he himself is aware that he is NOT calling a green object red but is instead simply saying "this is red" out loud while happening to point at a green object?

Can a fey say "I didn't order X to be killed nor have i actively instigated X's death" if he had earlier said to a person that he knows to be an assassin loyal to him to "Take very good and thorough care of X, please"?

For example, you are offered a dessert dish at a restaurant and you don't really want it.
If asked "Would you like to have the souffle?" will you be able to say that yes, you would like to have it in order to keep the polite appearance or will you be unable to do that?
Will you be able to say "I'd find it very much enjoyable", not telling the entire truth and meaning that you'd find it enjoyable AT SOME OTHER point in time?
Will you be able to say "I would not object to a souffle", meaning that you won't really like, actively FORCE someone to not give you a souffle despite you not really wanting it?

Also important - how will various lies and half-truths of that sort be resolved and adjudicated in-game? Asking and discussing such stuff in PM with the master(s) during any conversation?

@Keksalot
-A faerie can say something that is not true if they think it is (i.e. they are wrong).
-A faerie can imply something that is not true, if they do not directly say it.
-Faeries do not have to correct someone if they say something wrong, and they often do so to mislead people.

-In the first example, if he was not aware that the object was green, saying it was red instead would be fine. Whether gestures can count as lying I don't know, though I expect that something as obvious as pointing would. They could say "There is something red near me", if, for example, they wore a red ring.
-In the second example, the meaning of the statement (to the assassin) is that X should be killed. The faerie could say they did not order X's death only if they were saying these were not their exact words.
-In the third example, the first answer would probably not be acceptable, but I think the other two would.

Ultimately there is no rule that will work every time. If you're not sure, ask me, BC or Nallore in a PM before you post. There is the possibility that one of us will ask you to edit a post if we think you have directly lied, but for the most part you should be fine.

@Keksalot As Jace says, faeries love twisty wordplay. To quote the wiki, "The Fair Folk are also unable to lie. They might, however, tell what they believe is true, even if it is not. They may also expertly weave lies into sentences by using methods such as not telling the whole truth, letting others assume things, or not correcting the people with whom they're speaking; this does not, however, apply to half-fey, who can lie as easily as any other being." Thus, what Jace has stated is generally accurate, though I might propose that implying to an assassin that you want somebody dead without directly telling them to kill the target can later let you claim innocence on the matter of ordering their deaths with relatively little wordplay, depending on how you word both statements.

I've added to the relevant Terminology sections that vampires and werewolves are instinctively opposed to one another, since it was mentioned that that may be important to note.
