@Gareth That really isn't how the scholarship's work here. It's either you make good grades or you don't get it. He may have quite a bit of support coming from his folks and the townspeople surrounding the school, but if he can't make the grades, he can't make it in the school. If his parents went to the school, they either should have money or have prepared him for a scholarship. As for having something special that would let him, he's a familiar, they're all unique. He could go to any other school to get taught, it doesn't have to be this one. So it's your choice whether he put his nose to the grindstone and studied for that scholarship, or his parents are actually wealthy enough to get him in that way.
I'll have to decide which it is. Whether he studied for it, or his family is rich.
Also, something about Aaron's personality is a little...contradicting. He's a guy that likes to stay in his shell and not show off in front of others...and yet around friends, co-workers, and even out in public, he'll try to pull practical jokes? He lacks confidence, and yet is always able to tell people the truth, even if it's something he knows they won't want to hear? Do you see what I mean?
Yeah, I do.
But I think you are reading too much into certain words. Lacking confidence, doesn't mean you can't tell the truth even if they dont want to hear it.
The way you are reading lacking confidence it would seem that the character would sit in a closet and lock himself up, until he starved to death just because someone told him to.
@Gareth That's not how I am reading it. The way I'm reading it is that your character would lie to make the person happy. Your example is very extreme and I'm not quite sure how you came to that conclusion. We can't accept your character until his personality is more consistent.
@Sailorsadie Congrates! You're accepted! Delany's magic type is fire, and her current style is summoning. What that basically means is that you can make fire, but you can't currently do much with it.
@Avanhelsing *throws confetti at you* Henri's been accepted! Welcome aboard buddy! His magic is Water and his current style is summoning. Basically, if there's water around he can summon it to him but not much else.
Personality: Janine can be said to be who or what she needs to fit the situation when dealing with most people. Those that know her better would tell you she is often far more intelligent and calculating than her age or demeanor might let on due to her upbringing. The girl looks out for number one at all times making sure she is ahead of the game when possible or on the way up using any means necessary even if that entails helping others. It is rare she forms any real connections to the people however during and after her first year there are a couple other students who she can comfortably call friends, an unusual occurrence to be sure. By nature she is a very social person enjoying time in the spotlight determined to maintain appearances by charming and flattering her way through the day. Under the normal guise is intense ambition, focus, and need have everything organized her way exactly as she wants with hesitation about making it so personally.
Biography: Janine was born as the younger sibling alongside her sister Cecilia to a famous and rich politician of Prydain father, one Conroy Alrya, and his gossip queen of a wife, Elaina Alrya, who owned multiple extremely successful businesses in Maefeld. The two sisters wanted for nothing and were both extremely happy during the younger years often on display to the rest of high society as two perfect gems, which served to benefit both parents as they slowly taught their daughters more about the political and social game as time went on. The parents had planned early on that they wanted the twins to succeed them but they weren't satisfied with just success wanting the girls to eventually be able to beat them at the wider game. Young Cecilia and Janine learned more quickly than either parent could have hoped for often working as a pair to make sure each other did well though plenty capable at charming a room solo. The girls took to education of all kinds extremely well wanting nothing more than to learn of new opportunities for them to excel at, it was quite a competition between the two but far more friendly than most would think seeing them now, and just the prospect that there was something they didn't know interested them. Janine and her sister have gone down slightly different paths since the latter graduated leaving the younger sibling to her own devices giving free reign for her to takeover as necessary. Occasionally she has wondered what a more normal life would be like, not being the near perfect mix of both her parents and what they want, but she finds she is more than happy to work her way to better than just that. As for getting into St. Fortuna's it as the least her parents could have done to throw her into the most prestigious school to watch her rise above the rest and her first year was a good one but she plans to make this next one even better with all of her power and will.

Yes the example is very extreme.
the reason why that example came up to me, was that I thought you thought that my character was lacking that much confidence.
I disagree with you strongly enough about lacking confidence means that he would lie to someone to avoid telling the truth, that I can't change it. I appreciate your time.
Alright people, looks like we have a lot of mages! Please remember that we do need to keep a balance so that everyone has a partner.
I also see that theirs a lot of people with the same interest. Becoming the top dog isn't the only thing you can do here! Maybe a little less of the power hungry thing with future characters? As I said before, we just want to keep a balance of characters and make sure there's a dynamic, since that leads to much more interesting interaction. :D
@General ScalesCongratulations! Janine is accepted! Her Ability is Astral Projection! A kinetic Ability, when activated your character can separate her soul and consciousness from her body, walk through walls, and see and hear other people without being seen or heard yourself! There is a limit to this, however, as the longer and further you are away from your body, the weaker your body becomes. At the start, the longest you can be away from your body is 30 minutes. With training, however, you can increase that time limit, and learn to master your transitions!
