I was asking about Prydain, not St. Fortuna in particular. Since i'll be a transfer student, i'll need to come from another school/academy, right?
If you want to be from a military academy or another academy, that’s fine. Either or is alright. As long as it fits with your backstory and is properly explained. :)
Think about someone who is exactly the opposite of what you would think about someone who studied on a military academy. Lazy, undisciplined, a tendency to ignore hierarchy and orders... He is just there because his family is replete of influent military figures.
His presence is barely tolerated there, until something happens, an accident, that gets him wounded, letting big scars on his face and expelled from the academy. His family wishes to hide his shameful existence from the world, so they throw him in a famous academy away from the eyes of the military community.
@Redmarshmellow Much better! And Congratulations! You’re accepted! Your Ability is a rare type, Enigma! Your Ability is Forcefield Generation! Using your energy, you can project forcefields around yourself, shielding you from oncoming damage! Currently, you can create a sphere of only 8ft in diameter, and it can withstand the force of a 65 mph car crash. In addition, your forcefields require concentration and energy, so you can’t multitask when projecting them, and can’t keep them up for long! However, with time and training, you can expand the range of your forcefields, make them stronger, and last longer! How amazing!
@TheHangedMan We just need one tiny edit made to your CS. His height. That tall for a 16 year old is problematic. Our tallest character is 6’6”, which is plausible for an adult male, and possible for a fast growing teenager. 7ft, however, is half a foot taller than that, and just plain silly. Please either match your height to 6’6”, or make him even shorter than that. Once that is done, we would gladly accept your CS.

??? One big flaw in this. How would throwing him in the most prestige magical academies in the world get him out of the spotlight? It doesn’t make sense. St. Fortuna’s is one of the national prides of Prydain, it would be like your child flunking the school musical, so you send him to broadway. Can you see how that would be rather silly?
But its completely different from a military academy. Since he is still their son, if he must go somewhere, at least be somewhere famous, so he wont stain the family name.
That's what I meant by hiding him away from the military world. It would be a shame for the family if their son went to a regular academy, and St. Fortuna is their last hope to try to knock some sense into him.
@TheHangedMan Congratulations! You’re accepted! Your magic type is Ice! An elemental power, you can utilize nearby water to form structures out of ice! You can also utilize this ice in combat or out of it! Chilling! Currently, you only know summon, so you can turn nearby water into ice, but not much else. With training and the help of a Familiar, however, you can create impressive constructs, use your ice in combat, and even freeze rivers! Be careful, however, as your ice still melts, and the hotter the temperature, the faster it melts!
Kaison's father wasn't meant to be drunk 24/7. Not when he's not on vacation. That's kind of extreme for a drinking problem, but it's on me since I never clarified. I tried to leave a lot of his situation to be surmised so as not to detract from Kaison, but I didn't mean for him to be interpreted as weak or needy. His children, of course, were mostly raised by nannies, though not the same one. At your behest, it has been edited, embellished and clarified.
I've changed his answer for quiz question 8 to include the begrudging respect he has for his father. I didn't think it appropriate at the time, but I suppose it's good to mention at least one person he knows personally.
Are these changes appropriately sufficient?
Name: Kaison Locke Appearance: Age: 16 Gender: ♂ Orientation: Heterosexual, mostly Type: Mage Magic Type: ~ Known Spells: ~ Partner: ~ Personality: Adventurous, light-hearted and nonchalant, Kaison tends to not take things seriously. He has a flawless poker face in the form of an unfaltering smile and a stoic disposition hiding any troubles he may or may not have. He may be a bit idealistic at times, but he has a strong sense of responsibility, even if he otherwise seems completely apathetic. A little bit of a nerd. Biography: Kaison was born to a highly successful self-made businessman and his beautiful wife. When Kaison was only two years old, his mother died giving birth to his younger brother. Consequently, his father developed depression and a drinking problem. Due to his young age, he was never familiar with his mother, and his relationship with his father has always been impersonal. His father threw himself upon his work, only to drink whenever he came home. Even so, his father was a drunkard; not neglectful, and he and his brother were generally raised by a series of babysitters and nannies. Their father never really made more time for them than necessary, so they had a lot of time, growing up, to just sit around and play games with each other. As they grew older still, they went from making up scenarios to making up game mechanics. Kaison taught himself basic coding through configurable game engines and expanded from there, while his brother taught himself spriting. Together, they made fully original, if generally amateur video games.
As the years passed and his father transitioned from drinking to dating, their respective talents began to stir, and they agreed with their father to apply to St. Fortuna’s, hoping to use their newfound capabilities to write their own stories. Both romantics, they wanted to see what they could live out; fantastic scenarios like those they’ve created, a fitting step up. A life of action and adventure, worthy of being recorded and proliferated.
Perhaps that’s just wishful thinking.
Regardless of what the future holds, their father demanded only their best, and a school as prestigious as St. Fortuna's was bound to open new doors. No matter how Kaison proceeds, a little magic will go a long way. Likes: A good story, (books, movies, video games) card games, cloud-watching, his brother, fresh air, music of most genres, overcast weather, sight-seeing, soda, star-gazing, thrill rides, video games (gameplay) Dislikes: Cliche plots, competitiveness, confrontation, crowds, dirt, excessive pessimism, hot weather, humidity, monotony, obnoxious background noise Points: Proficiency: 3 Intelligence: 4 Athletics: 3 Miscellaneous: His brother is a familiar two years younger than Kaison. His father is a familiar by the name of Jon, and his business is an electronics (and electronics accessories) franchise. His father has currently been dating a mage by the name of Elena for a couple of years.
1. What is your character's dream career? A story-teller, especially one who tells his own stories about amazing things he's done in life. Ideally and most directly, this would mean being a famous explorer and author, but this is more of a far-off dream than a realizable career. If asked, he would say that he wants to be a video game creative director, on account of his familiarity with coding.
2. Your character is caught telling a lie/cheating. How do they react? Laugh it off and come clean, as if he'd been found in a game of hide and seek.
3. Your character finds out someone close to them has been lying to them. How do they react? He'd shrug it off as unimportant. If the situation really hurt him, he'd hide his emotions and act like he doesn't care as a defense mechanism. Either way, he'd lose his trust for them, but he'd still act friendly all the same.
4. If your character were given $50, what would they do with it? If he wanted a new book or game that came out, he'd pick it up when he gets the chance. Otherwise, he wouldn't give it much thought and would probably just save it.
5. Someone close to your character gives them something very important and asks them to hold on to it until they come back. However, your character somehow loses it. What do they do? Go on a hunt to the ends of the Earth to find it and if necessary, prostrate himself to the vilest of enemies if they were capable of finding it for him. Failing that, he'd do all he could to replace it. When the time comes, if he can't return the original, he'd admit to losing it and ask if there was a way to make it up to them.
6. Your character is given the chance to perfect any one talent. What do they choose? His writing capability.
7. What is your character’s favorite book or movie genre? Why? Science-fiction and Fantasy. He's always liked escapism, and creative scenarios tickle his fancy. If a tangible example is needed, there’s Westworld.
8. Who does your character admire? Daniel Handler and Jun'ya Ota, more commonly known by their respective pen-names Lemony Snicket and ZUN. A highly successful writer of children’s books with a particularly distinctive style and a prolific self-made Japanese dōjin game developer. There's also his father, whom he may have great contempt for, but respects for his strength of character and self-made success.

@Holy Grail For the first 24, yes. However, you can still submit a CS, and you can join the RP once a familiar has been made and can be assigned to you. :)

Still, it's a rather silly idea, since the children of many military elite attend St. Fortuna's. People would still see him. And considering the magical education he can get there, it's perhaps more prestigious than even the highest ranking military academy.

Well....poop. (T__T) At least i get to finish this mage idea to submit it here if nothing else though! XD
Anyone who is accepted after the slots our filled will be put on our waiting list, and put into the IC as soon as there is available space. We will be adding our waiting list to the first post along with the accepted characters.
@TheHangedManKorrey: *smiles, but due to his Sunglasses, it looks 10x more snarky then it's actually meant to be*
Also, I'd totally be up for that. Don't have much time to talk about it at the moment, but just shoot me some ideas and I'llget back to you as soon as I can.
Whew, I feel a lot of characters here are six feet tall or more. Makes my five feet tall character feel small. Maybe that's too short even for a fifteen-year old girl?
