I don't know if you could make the Penny prototype concept work (if we're keeping with canon which I'm assuming since @EmzyOfNeverland said this would take place between Volume 2 and 3) since Penny is essentially Penny 1.0. She states that she is the first synthetic person capable of generating an aura ie the first successful attempt.

Anyway, I had a RWBY character idea brewing in my head for a while, only problem is the pre-provided letters, as his name is/was Malachite, or Mal, because it's a green rock. I mean, I could change his name, but I like it meaning green, and I like the name Malachite for reasons. (because I'm a shameless Firefly fan and I wouldn't mind my character being called Mal, haha.) Anyway, Malachite Lindworm was going to be his name. Any chance we use an unoccupied team and make it grab-bag for people with character names that don't fit the pattern? Just a suggestion. Don't want to encroach on your vision though. I just like the idea I have for personality and semblance, but I'm totally lost on what his weapon would be. Oh, but only if you're okay with a character that can't use Dust. Because that is kind of a thing...

@tobiaxThe name is an issue but it's the only issue I have. If I get more interest, I could add a 5th team but not at the moment. The dust thing I'm cool with.

True, but that does still leave us some wiggle room, as that's (a) only as far as she knows (given Robodaddy's procilivity towards keeping secrets, it's possible Penny may have just been kept in the dark about any prototypes) and (b) only an issue if we restrict other Penny models to predecessors only, whereas there may have been simultaneous projects dedicated to serving different purposes, like combat, infiltration, bodyguarding, extreme sports, making toast...

@EmzyOfNeverlandOkay, in that case, can I reserve the A in VNLA? Or ASHE, whichever gets more teams filled first? And if someone, or two people, want A's, I'll back off and wait for another Team? Because his name could be Amazon Lindworm, like both the amazon rainforest, and, primarily, amazonite- wait, even better, Aven Lindworm, after Aventurite, another green rock!
