Yeah, Asa has healing powers and I was thinking about making her the nurse of the school. I thought I might be giving her too many jobs at once (mentor, power training teacher and nurse), but it kinda fits her character anyway. But I'd be fine with a dedicated nurse character as well

Hmm, since Asa has healing powers, I think she's better suited to be the school nurse than Freyja.

I gotta edit my post then...

Alright, so we have a school nurse, an assistant nurse, and a dedicated surgeon concept free for the taking here. Three nurses/doctors should be enough to keep the school healthy and happy, given the size of the place and the number of students. :)

I'll leave the unfinished CS up for a day or two. If nobody wants to pick it up, I'll roll a full CS for it and keep the Surgeon neatly tucked away until needed.

@Azereiah

I was thinking in making Meilin and Daler known themselves, since Meilin has already graduated and Daler basically lives on the institute.

Giving that both like to meditate, maybe Meilin sometimes meets with him to meditate together and hear his wise words.
Meilin was raised in a temple, so she has a deep respect for the elders, especially Daler, who is someone who makes her remember of the old monks that taught her. Is it ok?

Just didn't wanted to post something like "Hey there, we know each other. That is not a question!"

I'm totally up for that, and it makes a lot of sense.

So, originally I was gonna have all the players take a couple minutes to explore the school freely, but considering the speed that the RP is going right now, maybe I should just move onto the first mini event that I was planning sooner? Like, maybe early tomorrow?

(For the record, the event is Asa starting a game of capture the flag with all the new students, with powers allowed)

@tipssyCalibrator I'm okay with starting the event. Ryuuto would love the opportunity to collect data on all the newcomers.

I mean, I honestly kinda just feel totally lost. I'm not really sure what to do at this point and I feel a weird paradoxical feeling like this is somehow moving massively too fast and like everyone else seems to think we're crawling. Is it because I didn't really have anyone interested in interacting with my character because...I dunno, I didn't do much or he was obnoxious?

I dunno, I'm having trouble keeping up, I guess? The fact that we seem to get like 20 or so posts every time I have to do some daily stuff or go to sleep might not be helping for me. I know we haven't done anything plotwise, that's not my issue exactly. I just feel like I'm not getting any chance to interact with or react to things and people somehow, despite the fact that nobody else seems to be having a problem.

So, here's a thought that will likely be my next post. Beyond willfull suspension of disbelief for the sake of the story, what's stopping a crop of modern day teenagers from deciding that this whole situation is too good to be true and choosing to not enter the magically appearing castle? Just deciding this whole thing is too weird and strange and reads like the setup for a cult or something and choosing to walk off to try and reach civilization.

Well, to be fair, they've already been told about the institute, why they're going there, and agreed to go. So, I'd say these teenagers are here either because they want to be, or because they want to be.

Okay so you've never ever had any second thoughts upon comparing a worded premise vs its physical reality, nor do you know of anyone who has experienced this. I envy your decisiveness and apparently very honest and straightforward environment. Also my character was approved as not having been told about a magical alternate society because hey, turns out a large number of people wouldn't buy into that. They would also likely start having doubts when taken to some nondescript field in the middle of nowhere.

@Zero Hex You're free to have your character react however you want. I just think that if a character is going to be skeptical about such things, they'd have shooed away the weirdos when they came knocking at the door. I don't think that seeing claims actualized and a large group of similar individual would raise reasonable doubts in most people.

Not when the whole thing is sold to the person as a legitimate project precisely to make sure that the channeler doesn't just shoo away the weirdos and goes on about life with his powers unchecked. You can read the character if you'd like, it's all there. But I guess you're right, it is easy for people to be swayed by spectacle and there is comfort to be found in simply going along with whatever large groups of people are doing. Would still like a GM response, assuming a case like this can't be all that rare and that there are situations where it's best to educate the channeler for his own good and the good of others, even if they're not all in on it.
