NameAlexis
Age25
SpeciesHuman Cyborg
RoleBounty Hunter
Genderfemale
AppearanceStanding at five foot seven (173.7cm), and 134lbs (62kg), Alexis is fairly well built and a bit on the heavy side for her age - though its because of a somewhat heavy spinal implant she has. She has a head full of short cut black hair with blue highlights, as well as an obviously mechanical pair of blue eyes. She has a slender frame with no obvious musculature with an overall slight and somewhat lanky frame. On her back, she has a few scars from where the impromptu surgery took place to replace her broken spine.
Typically, while lounging around the Raid, she wears fairly light and casual clothing consisting of a white tank-top and comfortable jeans, and often times goes barefoot. When she's out and about in her usual not exactly savory parts of town, she usually wears a light white, zip-up jacket with blue highlights along the zipper, sleeves, and collar, and is complimented with dark colored pants and boots.
Now, when out and about doing bounty hunting work, Alexis goes for a fairly low-cost, yet reasonable defensiveness for her attire. A simple black bodysuit designed to emphasize speed, agility, and stealth over firepower and might. It isn't anything particularly special. If a planet or other area is detected to have a toxic atmosphere of some sort she usually wears a simple standard military issue helmet.
PersonalityCan you say 'massive chip on her shoulder'? Okay, maybe slight exaggeration, but most people would find her snarky, hot-headed personality to be a bit grating on their nerves quite often. She don't take shit from anyone, and will beat their goddamn face in if they even try it. She doesn't exactly have a lot of what one calls patience, and doesn't really take her time doing a lot of things. She tends to be very aggressive in her mannerisms when she's working towards a goal she has, and at times has trouble listening to the advice of others, even Meg.
That said, to those she does know and those who does get on her good side, even a little - they'll have a friend who'll fight the whole UGCP for them if they have too. She is far, far, from what one would consider a 'unintelligent brute' - she built Meg's body herself, as well as the Aegis Unit. She is likely on par with even the greatest UGCP scientists with her skill in robotics and computers, and she knows how to make any computer cry like a little baby.
She also really takes offense to anyone who needlessly harms a computer, and really doesn't like people who go around bullying others needlessly.
Has a thing for Xenos.
She grew up on a backwater junk of a planet called
Xenerth. A pleasant little place that most of the galaxy uses as a planet wide dumping ground for useless junk. How Alexis ended up there, she only has vague memories. She knows she wasn't born there, and that her origins likely are elsewhere, but she was too young to really recall where that was. All she remembers was there was lots of fighting, explosions, and a ship careening into the planet at high speeds. That is, she doesn't really know her last name, who she is, or where she even comes from. Her earliest memories are of that scenario.
She tries not to let it bother her.
She was taken in by a group of vagrants that lived on the blasted planet who managed to nurse her back to health after the crash. Most of her early life consisted of scavenging for parts and tinkering with robotics and computers, learning the ins and outs of programming and tinkering with various weapons and such. That was how most of the poeple on Xenerth made their living, at least - selling scrap and guiding people through the scrap heap the planet had basically become.
When she wasn't doing that, she was out exploring the planets surface. They always told her to be careful and not to venture to far in, as well as always watch her footing - the rusted remains of the ships could fall apart almost any second. It's true, it could, but curiosity and a strive to find the best parts she could tended to outweigh any sort of sense of danger she might have had. One day when she was sixteen, she had an accident - the floor in one of the rusted ships she was exploring gave way.
She fell, nearly ten stories.
Her injuries were...severe to say the least. If she hadn't had the good fortune to fall into the old bunker where Omega was housing itself, she'd have probably died. Meg gave Alexis impromptu surgery with what it had - most of the spine had been broken, she landed on it pretty awkwardly and hit a number of rusty outcroppings on the way down as well as her eyes.
It took a few days, but when Alexis finally recovered enough to wake up Meg introduced itself. The two got to talking, and Alexis discovered it was an AI that had been down here in this rust heap for...a really, really, long time. The construction of the ship it was in was completely foreign. Nothing like the UGCP ships or other ones. Meg commented that it couldn't recall whoever made it due to severe memory corruption - a result of it having to purge certain memories and functions in order to extend its battery life.
After she was healed and well enough to move on her own she left, coming to visit Omega fairly often, and spending days at a time in the old ship where she started her own little workshop, as well as where she made Omega's first prototype body that it could upload itself too instead of being stuck in a husk of a rusty metal body. It was nothing more than a mass of cables and junk tossed together at first, but after a few years and a bit of time Alexis managed to get her a somewhat respectable body with what she was able to work with. For the most part, she kept Omega's existence a secret from everyone else. She couldn't entirely be certain what the others would think - and while she would likely to believe the people she grew up with wouldn't judge an AI, eventually word might get out and then the UGCP might come running to find out what she was.
So for the most part she kept selling scrap and selling her stuff to off-worlders in order to save up enough money to finally buy a ship of her own and get off the junk heap. Well, she got luck and didn't have to buy one at all. A small group of pirates decided to land on their planet and lay low for a bit. Well. Why not steal their ship then? It's not stealing if you steal from pirates, obviously! But there were a lot of them, and only one of her...so, what'd she do? Create a framework exo-suit out of junk.
Enter Aegis-MK1. Took about a week and the thing looked janky as hell, but it wasn't supposed to be pretty. Besides, watching those pirates shit themselves because they thought they were being attacked by some sort of junk robot twice as tall as them was funny.
With Omega's help, and a little cleverness she was not only able to dispatch the pirates, she was able to commandeer their ship as well. It was fairly top of the line, too! Might only be a Heavier Cruiser with not exactly a lot of firepower and fairly utilitarian in design, and she wasn't exactly a pilot, but Omega took care of that rather easily. In fact, she could run most of the ship herself after she interfaced with it.
After that and a bit of time adjusting to life outside of Xenerth, she started bounty hunting. It was enough money for her and Meg to live off of and maintain the ship, as well as give Meg's body a few upgrades and re-build the Aegis from the ground up after two years and give it a much more sleek, efficient look.
Since then, she's been making a bit of a name for herself in certain bounty hunting and pirate circles.
Updates:After a few years passed, Omega urged Alexis to try and find a more stable source of income. Or at least, find a way to cut costs and make more money off of bounties. The only realistic way they could do this though, was to find a few more bounty hunters willing to work together. Alexis was rather hesitant to do such. She's not exactly a people person. Still, after a little urging from Meg she decided to give it a shot, so she tracked down an Ex-UGCP soldier that Meg had suggested she look into hiring.
After tracking them down, negotiations went not so well thanks to Alexis' award-winning personality. In fact, they sort of ended up in a bit of a competition. After a bit of a misadventure with them trying to beat the other to the bounty, Nova ended up with no way off the planet. Alexis re-made the offer after they managed to escape. To make things easier on both of themselves and maybe bring in a bit more money they inevitably decided to work together.
Omega still thinks they should try and find more people, though. Alexis spends way too much money in seedy bars and trying to get into the pants of every alien she meets.
Omega MK2 Artificial EyesHer first piece of equipment, would be her eyes. The technology doesn't exactly have a name so Alexis has affectionately nicknamed it after the AI. The implants offer her a rather unique set of skills over most organic eyes would allow. The first application, is the ability for her to be able to see fairly well in low-light scenarios, as well as a number of other visual modes. Infrared, Thermal, night vision, etc.
The second, would be its ability to give her a read out on her own vitals as well as limited information on the area. Temperature, motion sensors, and even a limited map view with other such things in a fairly useful what one might call a 'HUD'. In a combat scenario, it can track targets and greatly help with aiming at a target by giving her a fairly accurate trajectory by calculating wind speed, etc. It is a great boon for long-range sniping tactics should she use them. In a close quarters scenario where she uses her rifle, it can still help, but human error is always a thing.
Thirdly, it allows her to almost wirelessly interface with any sort of machine that can receive wireless signals, and hack and override them with enough time and effort depending on the exact security system in place. Given these were implants from Omega, they are highly, highly, advanced. Moreso than what most is in use today by the UGCP.
Vortex Rifle:Her standard use rifle, with modifications done to increase fire rate and increase the Amps of the Plasma, at the cost of being overheated. It has two firing modes, full auto and burst that can be triggered by flipping a single switch. Its her main weapon in a firefight, and the weapon tends to be fairly effective at its craft. It can melt through most heavy plate armor with a bit of skill, and it melts through any kinetic shielding like butter. Usually, she keeps it in a side holster on her legs. The weapon is somewhat compact and collapsible.
Supernova Anti-Material Rifle: 'Mini Bass Canon':A rifle designed for long-range engagements when getting close to a target might prove difficult. The rifle is large, heavy duty and obviously designed for one thing, and one thing only - to obliterate its target. She picked it up from one of her bounties, and after making a few modifications its quickly become a staple of her arsenal. The weapon fires concentrated blasts of plasma, able to melt through even heavy armor with a single blast 1-second long blast. The weapon tends to be slower firing, and intended for long-range combat but with the aim assist her implants give her, she can feasibly use it well enough at mid-range. Like the Vortex, she has made it somewhat collapsible and it's usually holstered on her back. When the weapon is fired, there is a distinct low 'hum' as the energy coils in the weapon fire up, hence the nickname.
Hornet:What some might consider to be the least impressive weapon in her arsenal, is actually the one she makes the most use of, most often. The pistol is somewhat large, and fires silenced large .500 caliber rounds. The weapon is surprisingly nothing fancy, and is only semi-automatic. It has been modified slightly to have better accuracy as well as improve the silencing and make use of different bullets should the need arise. As Alexis herself prefers a more stealthy approach to things instead of a straight up fire-fight, this is her main armament going in until shit hits the fan, so to speak.
Along with use for the Hornet, she carries armor-piercing rounds, incendiary rounds, as well as 'shock' rounds that are designed to simply knock out targets similar to a taser. She usually carries five incendiary grenades on her, and a number of extra ammo for Hornet.
~Aegis/Omega MKII Combat Mech~
Alexis' pride and joy, and the thing she's made that she would say she's the most proud of. The mass of metal, guns, and robot part stands at roughly nine feet tall, and weighs around 2 ton - about the same weight of a standard old earth vehicle. If Aleixs gets into a firefight, you can be absolutely certain she'll be making use of this if she finds herself outnumbered and outgunned and has no way to make a swift exit.
Unfortunately, for a solo bounty hunter the Mech is expensive to maintain, and even more so to arm and run so she can't exactly be all too...frivolous with its usage, otherwise she might not be able to use it when she needs it.
Combat Capabilities:Sunburst Auto-Cannon:This beast of a cannon is designed to fire as many .50 caliber bullets in as little time as possible. It can spit out almost 1000 rounds a minute on full auto-fire. Needless to say, any unarmored fleshy beings in the area will get mowed down in seconds. It can rip through flesh and even metals alike with relative ease. That said, it eats through ammo almost like a ravenous beast through meat, and can only store around 5000 rounds on its body at all time. Not counting cool down times for overheating, it could only realistically fire for five minutes before being completely out.
Comet Grenade Launcher:Mounted under the Sunburst, is a high-powered grenade launcher designed to lob a high-powered explosive at high speeds that detonates upon impact. In effect, its almost like a small missile single fire missile. It can auto-fire, launching a stream of grenades at whatever target should she need too. At most, the mech carries twenty grenades for reloading on it at all times.
Omega-class Railgun: 'The Bass Cannon'Like its name might imply, this massive railgun can only be operated efficiently by Omega, either via her controlling the mech or taking temporary control while Alexis pilots. The weapon is a massive, large cannon mounted onto the mech's back, usually kept folded against its back. When unfolded, the massive gun is loaded with a massive .950 caliber round. The projectile is hurled at almost impossibly fast super-sonic speeds - around Mach 7 to be exact. The weapon can punch through almost any armor and buildings and is highly, incredibly accurate. The projectile is followed by a stream of searing hot plasma, that typically causes severe burns upon entry.
Unfortunately, the weapon can't be used all that often. Its not designed to be 'spammed', as it were. After firing, the barrel is heated to almost incredibly high temperatures and if not maintained could cause the barrel to warp or misfire. At most, it can be fired once every three minutes.
Armor:Aegis, is named so for a reason. It is made of a titanium alloy designed to offer incredibly powerful protection - Titanium itself has a tensile strength that can resist nearly 63,000 PSI and can easily resist incredible amounts crushing pressure and wear and tear. However, one should easily make note that above certain temperatures Titanium becomes much less resistant to buckling and heat is one of the major causes for concern when operating Aegis. Long periods of operation has a visible effect on its systems, and cooling is one of Alexis' major concerns for the machine.
Miscellaneous:The Mech isn't particularly designed for Speed. while it can achieve a running speed of around 30mph once it has a bit of run up time, it takes a bit to get there and agility isn't something it has a lot of.
In its right hand, the Mech has a grip strength of around 2,500 PSI, and it can lift around 3 tons of weight.
When speaking from within it to those outside, the mech converts the pilots voice into a fairly frightening robotic and mechanical one.
Alexis doesn't like people touching her baby.
