Name: Jaiden
Species: Human(Mutant)
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Personality: Jaiden is and always has been the type to go with the flow, never really sticking to one place for very long and tending to leave a string of broken hearts in his wake as he does so. While not a bad guy per se, he's definitely pretty self-centered and often doesn't think twice about the effect his actions might have on others. He's lived with his powers for sometime as of now, and while he has done his best to minimize their impact on his daily life due to the potential dangers, he can't help but feel a sense of empowerment over most people. This manifests itself in an almost unnerving level of arrogance at times, where he talks down to you as a predator would to their hopeless prey. This side of himself doesn't flare up that often, but when it does, Jaiden can't deny that it often feels more natural to slip into this set of mind then to 'pretend' to be just another one of the sheep.
Jaiden can be quite the flirt when he wants to be, and makes no attempts to hide his appreciation for the fairer sex, though he does make sure to keep it respectful and appropriate whenever possible. He strives to be charming and suave, and usually can manage to at least interest any girl he sets his eyes on, but he's no master of seduction. He's made his fair share of flubs and mistakes, and is prepared for the fact that he'll probably make many more in the future.
One final thing about Jaiden is that he is a liar by nature, never being one to openly tell the truth if he can see a benefit in lies. Even his flirtatious behavior is little more than an act, a facade he puts on to entertain and distract himself from the emptiness that fills his life. Jaiden is a man who lacks any real purpose or drive in his life, a fact that he truly hates about himself.
Appearance: Jaiden is rather tall at around 6'1 with a lean, muscled frame, dyed platinum blonde hair and reddish-hazel eyes. His features could be best described as rogue-ish, though his resting face is admittedly somber when he thinks he's alone. He often wears a thin jacket above a light-colored T-shirt, some slightly ripped pants(he claims it's for aesthetics. It's not.), and some plain white sneakers.
Powers: Biokinesis: Jaiden bears the ability of Biokinesis, one that has been his for the last 2-3 years. The ability allows him to freely manipulate that shape and form of his body at the cost of some Bio-mass being consumed as fuel for the immense level for cellular division needed to perform such transformations. With his current level of skill, he can form his arms into either powerful claws(good for grasping, slashing, and piercing, they also provide a notable boost to his strength, allowing him to put quite a bit of power into an attack) or sprout a spiky tendril out from his hand to either grapple opponents or act as a grappling hook of sorts for offensive options. Defensively, he has a greatly enhanced healing factor, especially if he focuses on the afflicted area, and can form a carapace of bone around his body, giving him a more monstrous appearance while also providing increased physical protection due to the higher density composition of the carapace, giving it a durability similar to that of metal, though slightly better due to the higher flexibility and shock-absorption qualities of bone. He can also create separate constructs from his body, such as weapons, from his own bones, but they aren't terrible strong and this are capable of breakage if one isn't careful.
As mentioned before, he has an increased regenerative factor, making him a rather tough individual to keep down, though hits to the brain are able to incapacitate him for a time, and destroying the brain completely would definitely be his end. Aside from that, he can passively heal injuries that would normally last for months in mere minutes, or seconds if he focuses all of his biokinetic focus towards the act of healing, though this does usually cause a large increase in bio-mass consumption as he clocks his healing factor into overdrive.
One final ability of his that he is aware of, but can't utilize, is the ability to completely shapeshift into another person. The reason he can't use this power, however, is due to the fact that he must not only take in significant amount of that person's fresh genetic code inorder to form a flawless copy, but he must also devour their brain as well, so as to take in their memories and perfect his disguise down to the smallest details. This ability seems to only be possible with humanoids, as Jaiden has tested it out with lesser creatures(a few cows slated for the slaughterhouse and a few other sickly animals that were already on the verge of death as it were) but to no effect.
Predatory Enhancements: While Jaiden isn't sure exactly why as of yet, it's clear that all of his abilities are slated towards a predatory means if gathering Biomass, as obtaining Biomass is not only somewhat less effective, but also strikes a chord deep within him as unsatisfactory, though he's learned to mostly ignore it by now. . . mostly. His predatory have also led to his Biokinesis making passive enhancements to his senses, such as hearing and smell, allowing him to more accurately pinpoint and track a target, as well as identify prey whose biology makes them incompatible with his own(specifically those with a genetic mutation of their own, such as Sam or . . . well, other Sam, for example. Basically, anyone with a power that is something they could do since birth or somehow involved the altering of their genetic code makes them incompatible with Jaiden's biology). His reflexes are also enhanced as well, enabling faster reactions, but not inhumanely so as of yet, though further focus in altering his physiology in subtle ways could change this.
Strengths: Is a amazing actor, meaning that it's very hard to tell when he's being truthful with someone, of if he's just pulling an act in order to get them to lower their guard. He's also taken classes in Martial arts, so he does have some fighting skills. A bit of a gear head as well, and a lover of motorcycles as well. He's also just a really sociable person and, if you buy into his act, one that's not too hard to get along with.
Weaknesses: Fire, Intense Cold, or anything else that kills off cells is a good way to deal with him, as he can't re-absorb dead cells into his body, meaning that he has left Bio-mass to use when in a fight. Electricity is also a very good way to at the very least slow his abilities, as it fucks over the nerves and can likely incapacitate him or that particular construct for a short period while his body tries to revitalize and/or reconnect these nerves. Also, while he can reattach limbs and such, this requires a lot of focus to do properly, else he could fuck up the connections, thus further lengthing the time he needs to stay out of a fight.
When it comes to his transformations, his claws do a lot to increase his damage potential, but they are also prone to stressing the rest of his body as well, due to the immense shockwaves that ripple through him when he makes an attack, especially one that his been blocked effectively. As such, he'll have to take a moment to shake off the effects of the reverberation after each attack, possibly leaving him open to an attack/counter-attack if timed right. His armor is pretty tough, but far from unbreakable, and bullets can do plenty to shake him up, especially those of a higher caliber. Generally, blunt force attacks tend to do the best against him in this state. The joints of the armor are also very good targets, as they have weak-spots in order to allow him to keep a good degree of mobility in this form(though he is still generally slower and less agile in it than he would be otherwise.)
The tendril itself, while strong, is pretty vulnerable to multiple forms of attack, and can be dispatched pretty easily by damaging it since it's essentially one giant muscle of sorts, and as such, the pain from the attack will often cause Jaiden to back off. While his use of his abilities in secret have given him a tolerance to pain, he isn't immune to it, and massive trauma will likely floor him quite a bit.
One final drawback to Jaiden's abilities is that they work on a sort of system of orders, a system which he can only keep control of so many functions at a time. As such, he can only access one of his active activations at a time(Claws, Tendril, or Armor), and it takes time an energy to switch between forms, so he often only switches into these forms when he really needs to.
Background: Jaiden's life up until a few years ago could be considered mostly uneventful. He had a normal upbringing, with loving parents, and got decent grades. However, instead of joining the workforce when he came of age, Jaiden decided to instead go world traveling with nothing but the clothes on his back. He had no desires to spend his days toiling away in college just to end up in some dead-end job, working towards a life of plain mediocrity. As such, he took to the roads on his trusty motorcycle and never looked back, leaving his entire life behind for an uncertain, but possibly exciting future.
It was also during this adventure into the wide world that cause him to awaken to his dormant abilities after a rather nasty run in with a gang of thugs that had decided to make him their target one moonless night. Armed with steel pipes, bats, and a desire to inflict as much pain and fear as possible, they set upon him in a rather brutal fashion. However, within the mist of this beating/mugging, something awoke in Jaiden, something primal. . . and hungry. What happened next was a blur of red until he came to in front of the very gang that had been terrorizing him before, all of them unconscious and in critical condition as he stood above them, his arms having transformed into a monstrous pair of dull claws. Ever since that day, he's been experimenting with his abilities, discovering the pros and cons and working his best to keep the free-roaming lifestyle he had desired. And while the powers gifted to him by his abilities made things easier in some regards, he couldn't help but feel as if his solitary life-style was also having an effect on his humanity, as long nights alone often went from thoughts of ways to further his abilities to thoughts of how to silence the inner hunger that was always crawling at him from that deep, dark, primal place in his gut. As luck would have it, he'd stumble upon the inivitation
to the Lodge one day while passing through a city one day, and decided that this was likely his best shot at re-orienting himself and pushing down any darker stirrings within him by hanging out with good friends and just roughing it out in the wild. Or at least, to pretend they're roughing it while staying in an air-conditioned lodge in the middle of nowhere.
