Back in the infirmary, Chrys wakes up, noting the bandage on his arm. He groans and sits up, noting that his body feels a bit off. He spies a report next to him and snags it, scanning the pages.

Chrys shows signs of acute regeneration. It is as if his blood can regenerate at an alarming pace. However, it seems that as it does this his body needs to be well fed... It can be assumed that the reason he has a very small amount of body fat is because of this trait. Further study will be needed to determine however, and I'm not too certain whether or not this kind of regeneration is good. The body eats away at its own cells to heal... It is very strange... But I can assume since he cut several arteries that this prevents him from bleeding out, and is the cause for the rather large pool of blood he left.

Rurik pointed to a student and asked them to read the section. He believed that teaching was a way to guide people as they learned things themselves. Some people watched, some people read, some people engaged hands-on, it mattered little. As long as they were learning what he was teaching, Rurik didn't care about the means. Sometimes he would even use his mutation to demonstrate particular things, especially in geometry.

Shawn read the passage to himself, even skipping a little ahead. Geometry was easy, but Shawn needed to refresh himself on the course. He looked around to the two new kids, and was reminded of Peter Rasputin from the day before. He hoped he was doing well also, but worried somewhat since Peter didn't seem to be all that fluent in english. Hopefully someone could help him out. Rurik would be a great teacher, both being and speaking russian.

Once Shawn was done, he leaned back in his chair and rested a little. He worked hard to be where he was, both physically and academically. If anyone needed his help on anything, he was willing to lend a hand. His eyes drifted to the new kids again, hoping to see how well they were grasping the information.

"Is that how you see mental mutants?" Jean cracked the smallest of smiles. "Of course being able to lift heavy things and throw fireballs is important, but do you think that I'm any less involved in missions because I can't do those things?" She paused a moment and remembered that telepathy wasn't her only trick. "Yes, I have telekinesis, but that doesn't take away from the point. David, the first Prodigy, only learns things from the people around him, similar to you. Only, you learn from watching, reading, and interacting, and you keep that information afterwards. David learns new skills all the time, and he makes use of them."

Jean knelt down to Heidi and tried her best to reassure her. "You're doing great, Heidi. You're stronger and faster than most people five years ahead of you, and that's quite the achievement. You just need someone or something to inspire you to feel, rather than think."

"Oh, okay. Goodbye, Miss Kensington." Booker said quietly after she was already gone. He wondered why she had stormed out so suddenly, after making so much progress in the last few days. Either way, she would have to be back later for their session."

Doc Celement had been wondering about Chrys' condition and status, with and without the limiter. His office was now riddled with papers and notes about this rather interesting patient. A nurse had alerted the doctor that Chrys was now awake, and the good doctor left to go and tend to his patient.

"Chrys, easy there." he tried to keep Chrys laid down and calm. "I should have told Raven, I forgot she was doing that today. How are you doing?"

Roy was having a harder trouble then Shawn looking down at the paper writing on what was on the board. However he did not have much of understanding what was being written. He was never good with math and things of the sort thinking perhaps he could write as much as he could and use his powers to bring a professor to help him learn.

His eyes staring at the paper he was writing on writing as quick as he could. Although he was writing quickly if someone was to look at the paper it would be what was written on the board but messy and almost unreadable.

… Oh boy this was not as easy as she thought it would be. She had decided to read at her own pace, to see what the material was, and while some was familiar and she knew how to do it, there were a few areas she had never even heard of. She took a few point form notes as the teacher taught on the subjects that she was utterly lost on, and she read over the section of the book on it, but there were a few areas that just wouldn’t… click.

She drifted her focus back to the student that had spoken to her earlier- Shawn, right? He looked like he had his life in control and knew what he was doing, more or less, and the class was just more or less studying at this point. She didn’t see the harm in asking for help at that point. It looked like he had a similar idea of checking on the new kids; they made eye contact for a second, and she gestured for him to come over and tapped her pen on her book. She needed some help after all.

"Not mental mutants. Just me. And it wouldn't even be a problem if I could just feel instead of think. But this ability...it limits every good point it has in terms of field advantages. At least that's what it feels like. Maybe I just do need to take more leaps. Speaking of taking leaps..."

Heidi stops, and is clearly counting down in her head to calm her down. And she's blushing a little.

"...Do you have any tips for talking to boys?"

Chrys scratches his head. "Just feeling a bit drained and tired. Also kinda starving for some reason." On cue his stomach growls amd he frowns. Holding the paper he looks at it. "Is this really what my power is now?... Because I frankly dont want to end up like a skeleton..." He wasn't vain, but he's just worried that the power saving his life might just be the end of it... And that wouldn't be good at all.

Shawn could just barely see Bonny attempting to get his attention. His eyes flicked around to see where the sounds and motions were coming from, and landed on the new girl. He leaned over as far as he could to look over at her paper, trying to see what was up. It wasn't a good angle, he decided, and actually stood up from his desk to see her work better.

Standing next to her, he looked over her work and started to get an idea of what went wrong. Next to her bullet points of things she didn't understand, Shawn marked down some equations and additional notes to hopefully help her out. He wasn't a great tutor, but he supposed that he should get used to doing similar things as a leader. Helping out those who didn't understand and try and get them to understand.

He looked over to the other one, glancing at his paper. Shawn didn't know what someone could have worse handwriting than him, but he wasn't going to complain too much. He tried to help out in a similar fashion, decoding Roy's handwriting and making additional notes and the occasional quip. He didn't want to disturb class or the others studying right now.

"Boys?" Now Jean was really invested in the conversation. "You know, I was a bit of an outcast when I first came to the Mansion. Nobody likes telepaths. Everyone thinks that all we do is spend our time digging into people's heads. I never changed myself for anyone. If people wanted to be my friends, then they'd like me for exactly who I am. Scott, he tried being a bad boy for a while." She laughed at their first memory together. He tried so hard to be a cool guy, but it didn't take a telepath to know that it wasn't at all who he was. "He was interested in me, I knew that without my powers, and he tossed away the bad boy look and grew into himself. We've been together ever since."

Jean stood up and walked away, looking back at Heidi in hopes of getting her to follow along. "Be true to yourself, Heidi. I can't guarantee that he'll catch on and reciprocate your feelings, but this is as much as I can do without using my powers." She smiled once more. "Do you think he likes you back?"

"I think it's quite the opposite, Chrys." Caldwell chimed in as he searched for a paper. "Because of the limiter, your genes aren't finished mutating. Your mutation growing at breakneck speeds to catch up with the rest of your body, like I've said before. But I think we're being granted right into the full scope of your powers."

He didn't want to say it just yet, but Caldwell had a large hunch that Chrys was going to become the Nightcrawler of spacetime. Spacial manipulation and spacial fields, especially developing like the way that Caldwell hoped that they were, would make Chrys' very own body a spacial field where time moves differently. Eons could pass and Chryss could potentially age a few years. He didn't know for sure yet, and didn't want to scare Chrys another time.

Roy kept writing a few more graphs and numbers on the paper in front of him. Putting down his pencil on the desk and looking around towards the other students. He wondered if anyone would mind what would happen next. Grabbing the piece of paper in front of him crumbling it. Placing the crumbled piece of paper beside him.

His slender gloved hand moving towards his black trench coat. Pulling out a pair of decaying hands that was placed on the table. Using his powers the hands started to move grabbing another piece of paper and pencil. Writing in a strangely eloquent writing. Unknown to the other students Roy had with him the hands of famous Mathematician named Aldo Lindsay.

Heidi could identify with Jean's story. When she came here, her mutation hadn't made her very popular either. But unlike Jean, Heidi did change herself. She didn't try to. It just happened. She became quieter, and shy, and before she knew it she was scared to do anything that attracted attention to herself. It was only recently, and with Dr. Blake's help and advice, that she was starting to undo the damage she did to herself. And like Jean said, it was all about leaps, and saying what you want; saying the first thing that came to your head. Shawn. He was the one who was himself around her, and made her comfortable, and in turn act more like herself. Not that they were comparable to Jean and Scott in a romantic sense! He was just the only male friend she had. In fact, he was the only real friend she had full stop. They weren't more than that. Or were they? Not from a purely logical standpoint, no. But emotional?...She didn't know. Not yet, at least.

She noticed Jean turned and started to walk, which Heidi was glad of because it gave her time to suppress the blush that had just formed on her face. That's when Jean asked Heidi if she thought Shawn liked her back. Jean would be able to see Heidi opening doors in her mind, replying memories, studying body language and tone of voice of Shawn in every interaction they'd had in the last two days. But after all that, she replied with "I'm...not sure. To be honest, I'm not sure how I could tell."

Tatiana after warning her counterpart in Russia didn't really have anything to do before her next class. She consulted her PDA on her to do list. Top of the list was of course murder Blade. Under that was many things way less important. 'I forgot about that one.' She checked the calendar. 'Good didn't miss it. Don't have time to go now. Will have to wait for after school. She called Uber Taxi and arranged for them to send a taxi to pick her up after her last class.

Rose Mary was only concentrating on her classes like never before, that way her thoughts would not give her away. Her paranoia unknowingly was causing her powers to manifest in a way that would block out any form of telepathic entry no matter if it was benevolent or malevolent. This telepathic interference will gradually increase in size with her level of paranoia protecting others around her.

Chrys thinks for a moment. "The problem I see, is that my mutation is both active and reactive. If I come across a situation where I'm not sure what to do, it generally shifts me away from the problem. Or shifts the problem away. With this, I have no idea what kind of things I can do. Earlier, with the pill, I took it out if this space. It was effectively not existing for a moment. I couldn't feel it in this space. It was there, wherever I put it, but what if it happens to a person? What happens if my power drops me there?"

It was all so weird to him. He was unsure of what kinds of things he'd be able to do. With the fact that he no longer knew his power. Already, he could feel his body getting stronger, more durable, and feel the many things that surrounded him. He did not want to endanger others. With his rage, he was strong enough to cause serious damage with his old power. But the awakening mutation was something that set him off kilter.

"Uh... You..." Shawn didn't quite understand the hand, but he really didn't need to. "You do you, man." With a soft pat on the shoulder, he departed back to his own desk. Some people had strange powers, but he wasn't to judge. He was sure that it had some use to the task at hand, otherwise the kid wouldn't have just popped out a dead hand from nowhere. Shawn wondered about the different applications of dead hands, but came up rather blank. He never had to think about that before.

Now that he was out of things to do, he relaxed in his chair and waited for something to happen. Anything really. As long as the school didn't blow up again. He could really do without that.

"This is really unhealthy... but..." Jean whispered to herself quietly before giving Heidi another piece of advice. "try projecting your own personal thoughts onto him. do you think that the things he does would be things that he would do if he wasn't interested in you? See how he interacts with others, if it any different with them than it is you? Maybe he cares for you, but he just doesn't know the extent of it yet."

"Please." Another voice cut in, one that Heidi was sure to remember.

Emma Frost sauntered down the hall to Jean and Heidi, already aware of their conversation. "You're the smartest woman alive, Heidi. I'd suggest you read into psychology and study him. If he doesn't already have feelings for you, intimate or otherwise, if would be no difficult task to get him to look at you like that."

"She doesn't..." Jean attempted to use her telepathy, but the voices she always heard were getting foggy. Even the loud ones. "Heidi is looking for a boyfriend, not a lover. Your advice is on par with Gambit if he still taught here."

Caldwell looked through his notes, hoping to find and answer to Chrys' question. "That's not something that can easily be answered, Chrys." He sat down on a chair and wheeled himself to Chrys' bedside.

"See, the object being teleported leaves this space, but something else has to take up it's space, here." He set a pencil down on the bed where Chrys' feet weren't, hoping to not hit him or touch him too much. "Whether it be air, or something physical, something takes the place of the item you shifted away. As to what happens if something sentient is shifted away, other than yourself? It's pretty self explanatory. Person. Unprotected. Vast darkness of airless space. Pop."

Shawn came over and marked off a few things on her paper- equations she didn’t quite recognize along with notes explaining them to a decent degree. She looked back and gave him a small nod of thanks as he headed off to help the other kid. He was a pretty nice dude, helping the new students and such. She went back to work when he headed off, applying the new notes she had gotten in the areas she was stuck in. It took a little bit of effort in rearranging, but soon she was producing answers that matched the textbook. At this rate, the notes coupled with what she already knew would help her keep up with the class.

She looked over to see how her tutor was doing, and was instantly shocked to see disembodied hands writing in front of the other kid. Dead, rotten, hands. Well, that was certainly nightmare fuel for her. She tensed up, looking between the owner of the hands and the hands with a mix of shock and disgust. … Why? Why were they even doing this in class? Seeing dead hands move around was not something she needed to see. She jerked her focus away and back to her paper, trying to wipe that disturbing mental image from her brain. She hoped it didn’t give her nightmares…

Roy was looking at Shawn confused and wondered what he meant by his comment. Shrugging his shoulders and letting the hands do most of the work. This was around the time when he pulled out a human head out of his jacket placing it on his desk. Using his powers to make the head come alive. This was the head that belonged to the hands writing on the piece of paper. "Aldo Lindsay...awaken" Roy said in a soft sort of whisper with the the head moving. Said head looked about 7 months in the decaying process opening both of it's eyes letting out a long soft yawn.

"What do you need now, I was having such a amazing dream" The human head said now looking around now letting out a frustrated sigh. "Didn't i tell you not to wake me in front of these children" He said looking towards the other students. "Sorry..but i need your help with understanding this" Roy said pointing to the mathematics on the paper.

Heidi was starting to regret having asked for advice. She was getting lots of it now, and all of it embarrassed her. She wasn't even sure if she was ready for a boyfriend. She just knew that she...liked Shawn. Still, the advice from both women was to get a better grasp of psychology and reading people. Besides, that would be useful in missions too. The notion of 'getting Shawn to look at her like that' was very embarrassing, not to mention she felt like it was absolutely undoable with her shyness. Even so, her mind was already dedicating itself to thinking up ways of doing this and she couldn't stop it. The poor teenager was now blushing bright red. Both Jean and Emma would be able to see hypothetical scenes play out of Heidi wearing vests more often, to being more chatty, to being outright flirtatious and girly. It was at this point where these scenarios were quickly locked behind a door that neither Jean nor Emma could see through. Ah, to be a young girl in the throes of puberty again.

"um, I'd rather just keep things as they are for now and watch Shawn for any signs that he has any feelings for me," she said aloud to them both.

Chrys looks down at his hands. The gravity of the situation suddenly comes to a point for him. His fists clenched and the air seemed to vibrate a little. He didn't want to hurt people. Bit it seeked as if thats all he could do now. He was a ticking time bomb. He suddenly had a thought to get the limiter put in him again. He lived with it for years. It wouldn't kill him...

But it was that thought that really got him going. He made a promise to himseof then, that he'd seek new ways of doing things. "There has to be some way I can continue fighting with this... I mean, I could end any fight easily by just... popping them like that. But that's not something I want to do. I want to be able to well... Level the playing field..." Maybe this was his own Paradigm Shift. He'd send a ripple through history by becoming one of the strongest X-Men, no, he'd become the wisest. "Has there ever been someome who... Just looked in on the situation and judged whether or not to interfere? I can't see myself as a front line fighter all the time anymore. What if I was just... Well like Logan, sent in when the situation is really dangerous. I mean, he's a one man army, and I'm more stealthy...." His mind raced as he thought of what he should do. His power was dangerous, to both himself and others. He needed time to figure out what he could do, and what was something that he shouldn't. For now, he'd focus on honing in on what his power actually was, and what kinds of new tricks he was able to do.

Shawn wasn't going to lie to himself and say that he wasn't listening in on the new kid with the dead hand to possibly learn more about his mutation. This was something he had certainly never seen before, and wanted to see more of. It seemed as if the hand could speak, and possibly seemed to be an actual dead person who retained their memories beyond life. It was cool. However, full sentience and thought meant that it would be emotionally harder to use them as cannon fodder. Maybe he had like some cool warriors or assassins to fight for him, some geniuses to consult? Well, his team didn't need too many geniuses. Heidi already filled that spot.

"please." Rurik looked at the dead head and the student it belonged to. "If you must use your mutation, use it quietly. Do not disturb the others." He went back onto teaching and talking as the students read through the textbook. As long as they learned the material, Rurik personally did not care if they used their mutations in class. The whole point was to make the mutants comfortable with themselves and comfortable being around people. Not to hide among the humans, like some people had thought. Mutant and Proud. It was once a phrase that Raven used jokingly, a jab at Charles Xavier. Surely Humantiy would not accept all of them. But they were still building bridges.

It was barely a glimpse into Heidi's mind that Jean and Emma could feel before they were locked out due to her superior brain. It didn't help that Rosemary had adapted to block out telepaths, negating their powers a little more the closer she was to them. They didn't mind the silence in their own heads, but it was something to note for later. They didn't know that it was Rosemary herself, but Emma, after having seen what Rose could do, had a hunch that it was indeed her.

As Heidi said something, the conversation that Jean and Emma were having came to a halt. Jean straightened herself up and flashed a semblance of a smile at the girl. "Um, yes. We were getting ahead of ourselves," She admitted sheepishly, much to the strange delight of Emma Frost. "Like anything, Heidi, just put your mind to it and you'll do great. If there's nothing else, I need to report downstairs." With that, she walked off, leaving Emma and Heidi alone.

Emma was giving Booker's students a little privacy by using her telepathy as little as possible, but not only with that picosecond of sight into Heidi's mind, but her stating the boy's name outright! This was something she would refuse to let go.

"The charismatic leader of your team?" Emma inquired. "I know yesterday was only your first mission, but didn't he explode yesterday? His lack of control seemed to have had some sort of reaction with all of the radiation present in the building at the time, causing the bigger explosion that leveled the bank...?" She was going to add more, but that would have dropped into grave and serious territory that they weren't ready for yet. Surely Shawn knew about those lost in the explosion, being the one to set it off, but did Heidi know the full scale of the events? If not, Emma wanted to keep her from that for now. They were too young to be dealing with death on their shoulders.

Not to interfere? Well, people surely did exist like that, but only witnessed. Those people were the kind to not be recorded.

"One day, you can be put in that sort of position, Chrys." Caldwell patted the boy on the shoulder. "But for right now, you need to be on a team. Not just to learn how to work with others, but if you do go this route, be the last line of defense in the face of cataclysm, then you need experience. Right now, everyone on your team is each others safety net in case something happens. If you run off now and something happens, your own safety and recovery are not guaranteed."

This was a good bit of growth from Chrys, Caldwell noted. He had to stop his sympathetic talk, however, because a stranger was knocking on the window.

Caldwell groaned. Just by looking at the red mess that was standing outside, on the ledge of the raised window, he knew that this could only go so well.

"PSST." Whoever he was, he was intentionally trying to be annoying. "MEDICUS. IS MY HOMEGIRL INSIDE YET?"

Caldwell was forced to open the window and talk to the idiot standing on the little ledge. "I have no idea who you're talking about, and I've never seen you at the mansion before. Please, just go through the front door. I'm tending to a patient."

The masked man looked down and behind him, whispering something in a quiet voice for once. "The Backstreet Boys are still in style? Shit, I thought we didn't go back that far."

A second voice, much calmer and deeper, could be heard further outside. "This is where she asked to go. It gives us and them ample time to prepare and shut things down before it all crumbles."

Roy was distracted by the voice speaking to him looking up at Rurik. Glaring at the teacher before looking over towards the head. "Whisper..please.." He said softly now letting Aldo teaching him and helping him understand what was on the board. Aldo was speaking in soft whispers not wanting to get Roy in trouble. "And then you take this number and divide it by 4" Aldo said while the hands were writing a few more equations.

Roy would need to use his powers to bring back a few more mathematicians that could help him. He would usually use his powers to help him with current situations like this. Although he would usually do somethings himself but with the help of the undead was a big asset to him. For example with math or dealing with bullies whom Roy thought was around even here in this school. He could see the glares form the other teachers and students who think he's powers are repulsive.

Heidi was relieved that the conversation was over and Jean left, but Emma did no leave, and asked Heidi about Shawn, and the mission. Heidi took particular note of the pause at the end of her sentence, which was an eternity to her. "...And killed people." Heidi finished, nodding gravely. "How could I have not have worked that out? I appreciate the efforts of everyone to keep it from the team, though. Shawn tried his best. We all tried our best. We were not ready for what we were faced with. That's the simple truth of it."

She paused, and furrowed her brow. "You were there, and you have the reports. Why are you asking about Shawn and the mission now?"
