@Lucius Cypher Just to clarify, does Konosuba have a stat card that lists all the "stats" of someone or am I mixing up another anime?

@ClocktowerEchos I'm pretty sure it has all of your stats, it's also how you get abilities and such. You basically can't get stronger without it from what the first episode said. (though obviously the devil king's army has to have some other way)

Konosuba had peusedo stats yeah. It won't really be applied numerically until after you guys actually buy a card (again if you somehow got a card before you were suppose to, that card is faulty or fake). As for your stat allotment, you will not determine that. Me and my GM's will determine your stats based off what you do during the first part, like what sort of job you do or how you react to things that happen to you.

@Heckno12

I'm my entirely sure of the logic behind it myself, but yeah you need an adventuring card in order to advance. The way I interpret it though, you need an adventuring card in order to upgrade or gain abilities more easily. For example you could spend thirty years to become a master swordsman, gaining the strength and durability thanks to your training, all without a card. Or you could go on a bunch d quests and kill some powerful monsters and gain the same level of strength, skill, and endurance in ten years.

Basically getting an adventure card makes it easier for you to get stronger and gain skills, as well as serve as your membership card to the adventuring guild. Otherwise you can do the normal thing and spend years an years developing a skill or training your body.

@ClocktowerEchos

Eh, we'll go with faulty card. We could say that you tried to get a card but it turns out to have been a scam. So now you have a card with faulty stats that you can't even use to alter your skills. You'll find out later of course when it seems most suitable/entertaining for me.

You shouldn't have negative stats anyways, so anyone who actually has a real card (like Xiang) could ID it's faultiness right off the bat.

@Lucius Cypher given that my characters father was a reasonably successful adventuter in his prime, would it stand to reason that Daveon is equipped with sufficient coin to buy a proper card?

@Zelosse

No. He can inherit some of his father's equipment (frankly I shouldn't allow you the armor) but your dood would be expected to make his own money. Consider it an incentive investment for his adventure career, as in if he's serious about being an adventurer than he'll work hard and use his money wisely for his career.

@ClocktowerEchos

I will allow him to be a very good laborer. Whether or not he'll make a good wizard/necromancer really depends on how much effort you put into making Shiroe study magic.

What I'd like to prevent is for players, specifically you in this instance, having "unwizardly stats" yet still a good wizard while having the physical prowess to make for a backup fighter with magic augmenting their already decent physical skill.

@Lucius Cypher Yeah, don't worry I can understand your concerns. I'm thinking of properly making a spell list for Shiroe to use and submit for approval which will act as the spells he will know for most of the RP and then him gaining more stuff from books or artifacts or whatever but having to use those pieces to actually cast a spell (ie said spells are bound to the item and Shiroe isn't as much as casting the spell as he is unlocking the gate to it can be released from the item for a short while). This is all if Shiroe doesn't end up studying magic at all which will be unlikely.

Alternatively he could come across something which "normalizes" his stats and making them wizardly. Now that I think about it though, Shiroe really isn't the type to be pulling muscle wizard shenanigans and casting fist on people. >_<

@Lucius Cypher I don't know your policy for sure, but you may want to keep a light finger on the 'closed' button, so to speak. In any new roleplay, there's always a couple players that quit immediately or make characters but never post, which artificially inflate the starting lineup. Just food for thought
