Oh whoops, she goes into the cabin but then goes outside. I can just change it so that she talks to her outside of the cabin.@Charbonne@Framing A Moose

║ Appearance ║Solana is a slender black woman, standing at five feet seven inches tall and weighing in at a little over one-hundred thirty pounds. Her soft-curled, shoulder length hair is dense but yielding, and thick enough to lose your fingers in. Although having a head full of hair, Solana prefers to wear her hair in protective styles such as box braids and weaves, which allow her hair to grow quicker and healthier. While at the camp, however, she's decided to stick with her natural hair. There's a certain elegance in the way that Solana holds herself: a good posture, long confident strides and a head held high. She often looks taller than her height of 5"7 considering that she's always wearing heels when she has the chance.
Her eyes are large and almond shaped, the brown of the iris so dark that it almost appears to be black. Her eyes are fringed with long, thick lashes. She has a short, delicate nose and perfectly arched, dark eyebrows. Her face is heart-shaped; she has high cheekbones and a pointed chin. Her lips are full and always covered with a clear lip gloss. When smiling, you can see that she has two rows of perfectly white teeth, a slight overbite present. Solana typically spends about thirty minutes to an hour every morning applying a face full of makeup, but does not plan on wearing as much while at the camp.
When it comes to her fashion sense, it can be summarized as "Urban Fashion," an edgy look that reflects lifestyle, attitudes and individuality. She prefers to go to thrift shops to find clothes that she can make into something new. She has helix and lobe piercings in both of her ears, and a stud in her nose. When it comes to jewelry, Solana likes to be a bit flashy. She'll always wear her large pair of hoop earrings, along with numerous rings and bracelets.
║ Personality ║The Positive:
- ⋗ Humorous ⫻ Solana is, more often than not, the friend that is constantly cracking jokes and/or making others laugh. She has a great sense of humor.
- ⋗ Articulate ⫻ She is well-spoken, when she wants to be.
- ⋗ Intelligent ⫻ She has both book and street intelligence; Solana has been in the top twenty of her class since middle school, and possesses knowledge and wisdom applicable in the real world.
The Negative:
- ⋗ Noncommittal ⫻ "Why is everyone so focused on 'finding the one?' We're still young, and I'm sure as hell not gonna be tied down before I get the chance to live!"
- ⋗ Straightforward/Blunt ⫻ She tends to be a little too honest with people and doesn't really stop to consider how the person she's speaking to will feel about what she has to say. "No filter."
- ⋗ Short-Tempered ⫻ Self explanatory. She gets mad very quickly, and it's hard to calm her down once she's upset.
More in depth:
If you had to describe Solana in one word, most people would choose terms along the lines of "intelligent", "free-spirited" or "witty". A textbook extrovert, Sol loves to chat with people (unless she's having a bad day, in which case she'll lean towards negativity and passive-aggression), make others laugh, and tends to be genuinely friendly. She does not shy away from talking to strangers. Solana is a seemingly calm and laid-back girl, yet is by no means a pushover. She can more than take care of herself, but is smart enough to know when to pick a fight and when to let something go. She is someone who isn't weighed down by the troubles of everyday life, is not restricted by other people's opinions, and is always herself regardless of the situation.
She is, more often than not, confident in herself and her actions, often to a fault. She is very blunt, has trouble asking for help, and hates admitting when she's wrong. When things don't go as she planned or in a positive direction, she can get frustrated very easily. Divine also has a bit of a "potty mouth," and uses profanity even when she isn't trying to. She also has a lot of trouble controlling her temper, and whenever someone pushes her to her limit, she'll snap; it will often result in her yelling a large number of obscene words, throwing objects, and even going as far as to get physical. Despite all of her shortcomings, there's no denying that Solana is usually kind and dependable. If you ask her to meet you somewhere, she will be there; if she promises to do something, she will do it; if you ask her for help, she will do everything in her power to assist. Underneath the frustrated sighs and eye-rolls lies a person who's kind and caring at the core. The need for change bulldozed a road down the center of my mind. - Maya Angelou
║ My Dreams ║"I just want to rap. I want to be able to spread my own unique message that has never been said before. This is one of the only ways I can honestly express myself without having to worry about the hassle of pretending to be who everyone else wants me to be. I love hip hop as an art, and being able to tell a story and express yourself through music by letting the world hear your thoughts is just... amazing."
║ Fears ║
- Failure
- Heights
- Cops
║ Likes ║☑ Rap/Hip-Hop. She especially loves 80's/90's rap music; you'll often find her listening to or humming old Tupac, Biggie or Nas songs.
☑ Football ("Steelers Nation, baby!")
☑ Reading. She'll read anything besides cheesy romance novels.
☑ Good Vibes
☑ Sci-Fi
☑ Spicy foods
☑ Cannabis
║ Dislikes ║☒ Country Music, the only exception being one Rascal Flatts song.
☒ Racism, Prejudice, Homophobia, etc.
☒ Parties. She's always been more of a "kick-back" kind of girl; she'd rather chill with a bunch of friends, smoke and vibe to some good music.
☒ Heights are a big no-no. It took a lot of deep breathing exercises for her to even step foot onto the plane to California.
☒ Sweet/Sugary snacks. Her teeth are super sensitive.
☒ Most alcoholic beverages. If it isn't flavored, she won't drink it.
║ Brief History ║Solana was born and raised in Philly, the unplanned product of Sabrina Monroe's one night stand with a stranger whom she'd met at a bar. Rather than have his best friend raise the child alone, Zeke Jones stepped up to the plate; he did everything that a father was supposed to do for their child, but always made sure Solana knew that he was her uncle.
Like most Jamaican heritage households, the Monroe family had a very strong bond. The extended family - grandparents, aunts, uncles, nannies, and even neighbors - were all involved in Solana's upbringing. Although very strict, Solana's mother could sometimes be very fun-loving and encouraging. She pushed her to do her best, academically and athletically, and took responsibility very seriously. Since the age of five, Solana had been expected to do chores daily, all while maintaining an A average. Solana pushed her daughter to strive for perfection because nothing less would be acceptable.
By the time Solana was a teenager, she'd grown into a fine, mature young lady. She was the top in her class, the captain of her basketball team, and never broke any set rules or boundaries. That all changed, however, when she turned fourteen. She started to hang around with the "wrong crowd," as her mother would call them; a few of them were petty criminals, dope dealers, or just well-known neighborhood troublemakers. Despite having these bad reputations, however, these new friends were not all that bad; they always had each other's backs. Pretty soon, Sol began to break curfew, staying out late to smoke, drink, or run around with her friends; her grades started to slip; and the relationship between she and her mother grew dysfunctional. It was around this time, with this group of friends, that her love for rap and hip-hop really began to take off. By the time she turned seventeen, she knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life and who she wanted to become; it was all thanks to her little band of troublemakers.
When Solana finally shared her passion for music with Sabrina, the woman just wasn't having it. The way she saw it, there was no way that her only daughter would chase such a foolish dream; it would be more practical to become a doctor or lawyer. Infuriated with her daughter, Sabrina saw only one solution: Summer camp. Solana's mother hoped that this time away from her friends, or removing her from the situation, would help "straighten her back out" into the little girl she used to be. Once she was told of the camp, Solana argued about it for days, but this did not stop her mother from signing her up.
║ Suit Assignment ║Fill this out when we give you a suit: Hearts, Clubs, Spades, Diamonds. That will determine your cabin assignments and teams for the ten weeks at camp
║ Do you want to be here? ║"Why in the hell would I want to spend ten whole weeks on the other side of the country with a bunch of kids I don't care to know, singing Kumbaya around a camp fire and getting sunburned?"
She does not want to be at the camp, but will do whatever she has to do in order to make the Summer go by quickly.
