@POOHEAD189 Yeah, but the Fimir don't interest me enough to do anything with them. I was also going to try and work on a Beastman faction in case the Lizardmen went too far.

@WendigoChan@POOHEAD189 I mean, it looks like the Lizardmen are their own faction to begin with, just that in-lore, they're primarily focused on A. protecting Lustria from daemons, and B. making sure shit doesn't go north everywhere else, namely that magic well in the middle of elven lands that they've secretly been maintaining for ages. With tons of dinosaurs. Maybe in this game, they've finally decided everyone else is being dumb as rocks about running things, so now's the time to take over everything and gather a ton of magic from around the world to finally close really open up that giant arctic hellportal, or what have you. It's not like we're strictly sticking to lore outright, after all.

Still working on the descriptions for a few Lords and I need to make up some spells for the Clerics to use. Done, other than that. Oh and I need to claim some land.

If no one objects I'm going to have the Skaven basically massing for war down by Tilea/Estalia.

Skavenblight, Fester Spike, Foul Peak, and Putrid Stump (All Reddish Brown on the Map). As the RP starts I'll have them taking over Tobaro (Yellow on the Map right next to Estalia) by force, it will give me something to do and help me sort of establish Skaven.

Tobaro will then be sort of my above ground wasteland place when the majority of the Skaven forces retreat back underground. Again, if no one objects, I'll do a bit of RPing as the doomed Tobaran military as they're wiped out.

@AndreyichI'll see if both land claims are good. I'm thinking we try to stick to merely Imperial for you, but Marienburg is good and maybe Wasteland too if no one wants it. I suggest waiting a bit before claiming it, however. Also thank you for the update.

We plan to start this RP in around a week's time. Hopefully July 1st. Those of you who haven't submitted a paper, I suggest getting to it. Though you can join in later if you wish.

Those that have been accepted. excellent job!

Out of curiosity, where are the Mountains of Mourn in relation to the Old World? I'm not actually sure about that, and I definitely should be for RP purposes.

I believe they're past the World's Edge Mountains where the Dwarves are, past the Badlands full of greenskins and then basically whats the notUral mountains more or less is the Mountains of Mourn with the Dawi Zar and the Ogre Kingdoms.

@ClocktowerEchos So I checked a world map, and the MoM are actually really far East compared to the Old World. I guess it doesn't necessarily matter if there are creatures to interact with along the way- which there probably are in the Dark Lands, since canon has roving Beastmen and Greenskins as well as the Chaos Dwarf empire- but I can only assume the bulk of players will take a while to encounter any roaming Ogre armies as a result.

Perhaps you could RP an Ogre Mercenary contingent closer to the Badlands.

Border Princes and Remas of Tilea would be good places for a mercenary company.

@BangoSkank ...maybe for a little while. Alternatively, the Ogres could already have spread Westward a fair ways, which would mean I need to claim more land than I'm perhaps comfortable with claiming, since it makes no sense to assume they've all abandoned the Mountains entirely. Choices, choices...

Sorry for the long delay, I know I said I would have my sheet done soon. I was quite sick for a week, and then I've been working overtime this past week. I'm hoping to have things finished shortly now however.

As for starting areas, might I request Stirland, Ostermark, the Moot and Kislev in addition to Sylvania? Sylvania alone isn't the best starting position, especially since I would be RPing an empire that hopes to annex as many nations as possible to prepare for a war with the Norscans. I was also hoping to begin the RP with an invasion of the neighboring lands to set the tone for the Undying Empire, and that would be a little with Andreyich and the mountains surrounding me. If that isn't agreeable, I could come up with an idea to expand into the mountains, but I'd rather not personally.

Hope to be finished with my app soonish.

@ClocktowerEchos@POOHEAD189 Alright, I've got an idea as to how the Ogres have gotten closer to the Old World. From the looks of things, most of the lower half of the Dark Lands is uninhabited by any significant forces, and in canon, Gnoblar Country and the Haunted Forest extend out a substantial way into what would otherwise be a much longer slog. My theory is that to reach more prolific grounds, the Ogres managed to create a supply line through the southern part of the Dark Lands to, say, the Ash Ridge Mountains - not necessarily uninhabitable if populated with beasts from the Mountains of Mourn, since half those peaks are natively volcanic anyway, and they do have cultists worshipping a particular volcano already who might be able to do something with them to make them more viable - and then used those as a stepping stone to begin entering the World's Edge Mountains, and therefore to move toward the Old World once the game begins. I imagine their logic for doing so is "screw going East, our god obviously doesn't want us going that way".

Thanks man, I appreciate that.

-------------------

Alright everyone, I have a few ideas I want to finish in the post script of my app, but I have finished describing the characters, units, and nation overall. I haven't completely overhauled the units as it is still a faction in transition, however many units have been revised or added. Let me know your thoughts. I know I'm a n00b when it comes to the setting and haven't much experience in nations RPs, so any and all criticisms are welcomed.

I will still finish the PS addendum in the coming few days; its mostly additional information I wanted to add to clarify the faction or discuss artifacts used by members of the faction. The TL;DR descriptions however go something like this:

--Rise of Gautselin: Monk finds a book. Book talks to him, turns him into vampire, tells him he is the hope of the world. He proceeds to wander around for a century, meeting people in various courts before deciding undead were the way to go (being the penultimate renewable resource).

--Undying Empire: Its like the regular Empire, but with more walking dead people. Gautselin hopes to conquer, coerce or convince other factions to join in order to stamp out chaos. Also, industrial revolution.

--The Black Book: Blank book made of skin. Gautselin either reads or pretends to read from it, and says it can talk to him. Not crazy.

--Blade of Hel Fenn: "You know what would be great? If we dug up Mannfred, tore out his spine, and used it to create a magic sword."

If anyone has objections to anything, do let me know. Picking apart fiction is half the fun of being a nerd, even if you're just posing (like me).
